Zoo & breeding center in riverside garden, with some animals in original 19th-century buildings.
All nice.Botanical gardens including green house, paleontology & geology permanent shows.Better get your ticket in time from their site.
Really nice zoo where the children can see most animals from a very close distance. The jaguar and the snow leopards were impressive.
Visitrd on beautiful sunny October day with our 3 year old grand daughter who loved seeing the animals. It is a twee city zoo right in the center if Paris with a good selection of animals who look very well cared for.
One of the nicest zoo’s I have visited. Animal’s are very well looked after here
This zoo is a disgrace. The animals are left with no space at all (especially the orangutans and the snow leopardsjust for the entertainment of little kids. This is 2022 people, Ive never seen a place more anachronistic than this. I seriously advocate its closure.
Nice and peaceful zoo in beautiful garden location. Cute animals and enjoyable on our last day at Paris before leaving for the UK. Highly recommended.
We went in the month of august and it was so good to see all the animals there. We saw baby kangaroos and red panda. There were leopards also and different types of other wild cats. The birds were so amazing to see. Flamingos were there. Many types of monkeys were also there.
Its a good place to visit with kids but beaware of paying at every entrance more things to see its better to plan it two times visit
I went to the botanical garden , it needs care and Maintenace, open park , you can have a coffee and a small snack from coffee shops inside the park at the entrance, good for a walk under the trees. I did not buy a ticket to the zoo.
Just amazing, 10 euro for visit Muse, and 13 for vizit zoo , top.
A good place especially if you have younger kids. They have a large variety of animals and very well maintained.
Ticket price 13 euro something for one person
A lovely little zoo. Some of the enclosures seem rather small for the animals contained. Easy to navigate and clean.
Supercool! Not big, not expensive. Perfect for kids.
I went there on May 1st because I wanted to avoid Labour Day protests. This is a beautiful Zoo, clean, relaxing. The animals look good, clean and well taken care of. Many cages have indoor and outdoor space, so if you can’t see an animal, look for it on the other half of its space, or it could be hiding. There are Llamas, and ostriches, Pumba from Lion King and Red Pandas, snakes, tarantulas, axolotls, primates and felines. If they’re sleeping don’t throw rocks to wake them, sleeping is what they like to do. Especially the red pandas. And they’re all beautiful. It was an excellent choice for May 1st, the flowers were all blooming, the weather was great, the space clean, quiet and had many families visiting. If you want to see more animals, there is the grande zoo of Paris, but this one is great too.
A little small but still interesting. Animals look well cared.
It is very nice park. It is connected to botanical garden. Not too many animals, just the right size for a good walk.If you buy ticket in advance, you get in a little but faster, but the line for the tickets was short, place not crowded.
Visited the zoo today. The exhibition space for eg. big cats such as léopard des neiges or the singes is a sad story of reintroduction of endangered species to wildlife. While the animals are breed and reintroduced (which is of most admiration and nobilitythe small space for the individual panthers or orangutans to live is disturbing and depressing for the viewer - not to mention the animal. Especially when considering hundreds of tourists and kids yelling and throwing hands in front of the cages. I hope the menagerie will enlarge its compartements for all of animals (including reptiles, such as desert viper in the repitles pavillonor move to more appropiate space. An example can be the Knuthenborg Safaripark in Denmark.
A cute and nice zoo, just the right size. Worth to go.
Some interesting animals, the big cats were gorgeous.
Good place to visit with the family. Nothing too extraordinary, but the red panda and another very rare animal are interesting sights to see.
Do not miss here with the children when you visit Paris France !
The zoo is not too small and not too big - just right! You can fill your water bottle. The places for animals are thought in manner that animals cannot hide all day long from peoples eyes and you can see almost every animal there. Some animals have very good camouflage - so search them carefully ;)
There are breeding, research and return to the wild programs so you dont feel like youre exploiting animals just by being there. You can watch rare animals of all kinds not just mammals.Unlike the tropical hothouse you can find really helpful and tourist friendly english signs.I Highly recommend visiting
Its the second oldest zoo in the world: nice and cute. It has a great atmosphere. We were here on Saturday afternoon, we didnt buy tickets in advance, but we still got in in about 10-15 minutes. If youre in the park and have time, its worth a visit. The park offers many experiences. For example, the Alpine Garden is amazing (its a bit tricky to get in; you have to go through a tunnel). But the greenhouses are also great.
Wonderful place, great for kids, its a bit small-feeling in places, like the reptile exhibit, but overall its a lovely zoo with a good variety
Great place to kill time for a weekend with kids or Lovers ❤️ if ur in Paris 👍🏼 the monkeys I Love 💕 them all 🙏
We were pleasantly surprised by this zoo, was interesting and very well maintained. Would definitely recommend for a minimum of 2hrs for adults and longer if you have kids. Situated within a big park so all day could be spent in the area if you like to take it easy. Cost was around £10 per adult.
Decent place, well worth a visit if you can spare the time. This is not the main Paris Zoo, but a side zoo with fewer animals. Its not huge, can be covered in 1h. Paid 13 Euros to enter (student price), although I didnt feel like I got my moneys worth as most of the animals were sleeping + the exhibits were few and small, and some were closed. Most interesting part was the reptile enclosure (indoors). Compared to the adjacent museums in the Jardins des Plantes, I found the others (Museum of Evolution, Museum of Natural Historymore enjoyable. On a side note, the place was well maintained, very clean and adequate signages for visitors.
Lovely little zoo garden with nice and unique species - red pandas, tapir and brown river pig.
Typical zoo I guess. Always interesting to see "wild" animals. Toilet available down in the cellar.
The menagerie is good place for an evening out, to enjoy a walk among our wild and furry friends. Theres definetly enough animals to see and some of them take some extra time to admire so that your time around the zoo isnt wasted. Its a really good place for kids, they wont be coming out dissapointed.
I havent been to the zoo but looking at it from the outside it looks nice. Also outside the zoo there are some nice kangaroos
Exceeded my expectation for a small zoo. The reptilian and amphibian place was good. The red panda was very cute, and there was quite a good variance of animals.
Would’ve never guessed there is such a nice zoo in the centre of Paris. There are a lot of interesting animals and it’s a very nice escape from the hectic city life. Full of families and children. Very pleasant trip.
What a surprise. We thought it would be a little zoo, but it’s pretty big. Also very well maintained. Would definitely recommend visiting!
Historic zoo in the center of the Jardin des plantes. Not too crowded and really clean and tidy (super job by the staff). Large gamme of animals (you can see that even if it is a zoo, they are not too sad there).Price for the entrance is 12 euros and it is fair seen the number of animals and the structure.
Sunday night at 9 the place was completely empty. The perfect way to experience LEVOLUTION EN VOIE DILLUMINATION. ❤️
This little zoo is so family friendly but mostly I loved that there was glass to see the snow leopards better!! It was wonderful to have such a clear view of the animals. Bonus is that everything bought at the gift shop goes right back to the zoo!
A small zoo that appears to be well run and with a reasonable range of animals. Although the buildings are from the early 20th century (I think), it doesnt feel like any of the enclosures are inappropriate, although I did wonder about the size of the enclosure for the orangutans. Maybe I was lucky being able to go in a post pandemic lull in visitors, but there were no crowds and I spent a relaxing afternoon watching the animals - I look forward to when they once more run their evening / nighttime sessions.
This zoo has red pandas! It is small but worth going to in the morning. I wish the reptile part was still open but this zoo was really fun!
We walked through the zoo park and came across these amazing Art pieces, a must see! Absolutely gorgeous#sagirlovestotravel
The entrance fee is not worth to pay regarding what is waiting for you inside the Garden.I believe they should not call it zoo because the species of animal is living there is a few. A few of areas were closed at that time and between the ones which were opened many of them were empty. In most of the cases the animals were sleeping or inside their shelter that we were not able to visit them or if there outside of the shelter they were so far from us. The mentioned points are obvious in the attached pictures. The ticket price was 13€ at that time.At the end i would like to say that do not go there even you are used to visit zoos wherever you go.
A simple little zoo, but definitely worth a visit. Love how they have kept alot of the trees and bush. Not very impressed with the amount of rats I saw around the place. Pest control is urgently required
I especially liked Jardin alpin. A little puzzle to get to via a tunnel but very nice. The grounds were well cared for throughout the park and made for a nice stroll.
We went for the light show in November which was really great. Lots of families visited at the same time. It had great illuminated structures of animals some of which also are mechanical. Downsides are the number of people it was really busy and it took ages to get in even though we pre-purchased our entrance ticket.
For a small zoo in the city center it tries really hard but it clearly needs investment. Victoria era buildings need repairs (please dont get rid of them tho, they are part of history too!!!animals generally appear well cared for and we got to see a lot of baby animals which was super awesome. They should charge more or ask for further donations and really it was a lovely break from the heat and dirt of the city. Highly enjoyed and recommended as a way to get back in touch with nature.
It was an exceptional day !!! I love it !! Its really the right place to enjoy the time with the family and specially with the Kids !!! Its a huge amazing experience for them !! And the most important you forget all that about pression of work and the noise of the city !! I do really enjoyed my time there !
I dont like it because its a zoo. But also because of its location and what it has to offer. Its a fantastic relaxing spot with kids, for couples and also I would personally recommend it for your next dating spot. Its beautiful. Next to the Seine.GARDENING:It reminded me of our own Kew Gardens: Beautiful, historic and serene, but I couldnt help but feel sorry for the Wallabies in the zoo, surely theyd be happier in the climes of the Antipodes!Running:Its a perfect place for running. However, While I was jogging I got in from the back, the gate was open. If you wanna see a prison for animals, go for it! Animals locked in cages bored out of their mind, this is horrible! Feels like youre back in time 19th century. I saw Nenette the female uran utang, I noticed she was my age, and that shes been in this miserable place ( a glass cageall her life. I felt lucky compared to her, I could just walk out within 5 minutes.May be I am exarragating but thats me. I dont like zoo personally.Overall,Absolutely loved a day trip to this Parisian zoo! A must-see if you are an animal lover, or looking for an off-beat way to experience French culture. Animals in their habitats were a joy to see, grounds were tidy and well-cared for, and the crowds were not overwhelming. Signs and informational displays in French, but at a childrens reading level and well-illustrated, so even if limited in the French language, visitors should be able to understand the messages. I also learned a lot of new words for animals on my visit, so that was a bonus! Park is very walkable, and there are many benches and places to stop an enjoy the scenery. Visiting the zoos & parks is a welcome change of pace for a tourist in Paris, as you wont encounter the massive crowds of other Americans and English-speakers like in the main museums; rather, youll encounter French families and experience a different side of culture. I recommend going early in the day and enjoy a picnic in the park!
The zoo was set in a leafy quiet area. There were a variety of animals to see. Some new born monkeys & goats. They have a breeding programme. We had a lovely afternoon there.
