Excellent location. No soundproof rooms, cracking floors. I could hear steps and everything from the floor above. The Internet didnt work for me and although they were super friendly, their only action was to ask me to turn it off and on again (which it didnt work). I couldnt work from my room at all without Internet.

Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. It was extremely dirty, old and worn out rooms, no air conditioning, stains over all the walls. Reception staff and manager was extremely rude. I would highly recommend to avoid this place at all costs! Photos aren’t true to website. It’s really gross.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, esp when I requested a change to my booking for an accessible room. The room itself was large, it did have a bathroom pod inside it, but for anyone needing a fully accessible room the pod is tiny and not wheelchair accessible. My issue was more being unable to do a lot of stairs so it was ok for me in this instance. Location is great - quiet for London and being so close to Kings Cross tbh. Ive stayed in a lot of places in London and around KX and this was one of the better places. Could do with a small lamp at the bedside as the only light switch is on the far wall and the curtains make the room nice and dark. Would probably stay here again for location and friendliness of staff.

Everything that could be broken, worn, or tired was broken, worn, and tired. We decided to spend as much of our waking time there drunk and fortunately theres good cocktail bars nearby. We didnt raise any complaints and the staff were friendly (Ive heard reports that they solve issues promptlybut everything that could be wrong with the room was, and its not my job to point that out to the staff so they can only sort it once Ive already complained. We were only staying the night so we chose to tough it out (admittedly inebriatedand consider it a funny story for another time.

The location is great, the staff very friendly but the room was a bit of a let down. Besides that it was tiny, very noisy and just not clean. Things were unnecesairy broken and not taken care of. Broken light, broken light switches, broken clothing rack, broken shutters, worn down bathroom furniture with water damage, rust and lime scale in the shower and chipping paint on the walls. This has nothing to do with being a budget hotel, a bit of a shame.

The room was very clean and the staff was also very friendly and helpful. The place is as central as it gets. Using the tube you get everywhere in no time. The room was small-ish with a comfy bed, TV, kettle and complementary instant coffee and tea - but cozy and nice, nonetheless. But thats what we paid for. Very much worth the money! You dont go to London to stay in your room all day. Or if you do, you want to pay 3x as much. Thanks guys, it was a lovely stay!

Wanted to pay in cash. The man working on reception said he didnt have any change, but would get some by the time Id checked out. When it was time to check out he still hadnt got any change, so I had to pay by card. Very awkward and uncomfortable experience and he didnt look as though he was busy, either; probably just lazy. The room itself was okay, though.

We spent 10-15 minutes waiting at reception before anyone arrived. When we got our key, the hotel receptionist sent us up the wrong flight of stairs. After waiting in reception for him for ANOTHER 10 minutes, he apologised and sent us the right way. Hotels rooms are tiny and opening the widows was a nightmare in itself. Just pay more and stay somewhere better.

Not good. At all. The only decent thing about this place was a fairly comfortable bed and a nice shower (which randomly sprays water at random points in the night). For £176 for two nights, I didn’t expect luxury. But my god. Broken toilet seat, blocks extremely easily. We notified the staff, four hours later, still not fixed. We ended up doing it ourselves. Our room is below ground, with a single pane window, right next to what I am presuming is where the staff wash and dry sheets, towels etc. This means that there is constant noise and people walking and shouting right next to our window. One woman even opened the bloody window and tried to talk to us. There’s no air conditioning, and even though it’s the dead of winter, it gets extremely hot in here. Several lights are broken, very little storage, and a very strange set of decor in the room. Clearly the staff aren’t all that vigilant as there was an extremely strong smell of weed coming from the room next to ours. The location is quite nice, however the hotel itself has more of a “someone’s renovated living room” vibe to it. All in all, not a good place to stay, highly annoying sounds and shouting 24/7, people smoking joints and pretty negligent staff. Lesson to be taken from this, don’t waste your money, stay some place else.

+ Easy accessible by underground and just a 5min. walk from Kings Cross Station+ Water Heater and Tea free of charge inside the room+ A lot of Food Options all around+ Quiet area- Staff Member at Check-In unfriendly- Storage Space for Luggage unsupervised in walk-through area- General cleanliness was the worst! Mold on the windows, all around the shower, hair and staines on the bed, spider webs right next to the pillow and strange odor inside the room- Shower Head on the height of my shoulders and wrong Bracket that didn`t hold it properly- Hotel is poorly soundproofed and room neighboors woke me up every day- No sink stopper- Wasn`t able to open the window and the shutter didn´t get the room completely dark- No AC inside the room- Cleaning Ladys removed the bin bags daily but didn`t make the bed or changed the towels- When complaining about the issues inside the room, they send up the cleaning ladys who didn`t even try to get things done! I asked for a room change and a compensation (i paid 110€ / Night without breakfastbut all they offered was a room change later that day, meaning i`d have to hold on to my luggage another 3 hours. They also told me that all of the rooms are the same...

Best to describe the room (35as snug! The heating didnt work so guy on reception gave us a fan heater. He said he would have moved us if he wasnt fully booked. Bed is partially in front of the window and there was a real draft coming from the window. The room door also rattled because of the draft. Think thats all!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The room was small and not comfortable. The bathroom sucked as well. The location is good and the pricing isnt bad but the rooms themselves are awful. Plus when we got our room we walked in and theres just this awful smell as if something died in the room. They gave us a fan but thats it. We couldnt transfer rooms and they dont have air conditioning. It really sucks.

Rooms are nice and spacious if plumping for the studio, cant say as to the other rooms. Had a few people wander in our room but thats probably down to the guests. Good for transport as right next to St Pancras however no food is offered so you have to shop elsewhere. Service was great, had no problems at all.

I stayed 5 minutes in my room before I left. Just the time to go to the bathroom and to find, around noon in the sunlight, a really nice bedbug walking on the floor.Worse experience I ever had. Luckily I saw it quickly and could save my own stuff. I had to find somewhere else to sleep in emergency.Be very careful and never open your suitcase until you are sure it is safe.

Is what it is. Small 3/4 bed with a tv, window and a shower. Located brilliantly for kings cross or euston. Shower was small and wouldnt fit a larger person. Myself being 5:10 12st and still cracking my elbow. Room wasnt cleaned properly. Hair left on bed and side top. But other than that. You get what you pay for. No frills no spills

Great location and hotel was very clean. However, the rooms are very small and basic. The bed appeared to be only 4ft although we didn’t have a tape measure, and was squashed against the wall. I would suggest booking last minute for best deals. We booked a few days in advance and paid more or less double the price advertised when we arrived. A kettle was provided but when requesting a couple of coffee sachets we were informed there would be a charge of £5.00!! Very disappointing and quite unbelievable in this day and age. Would we stay again? Probably not...

Reasonable prices for a room so close to the train station. Rooms are small so I wouldnt want to stay for more than one night or so. Rooms have a safe and a kettle, but no teabags/coffee (however, they are available for an extortionate £5 from the concierge for two teabags, two coffees, four sugars and four milks).Rooms are small and clean enough, but nothing to write home about. Great if youre looking for a place to just spend the night without breaking the bank, and very handy for the train stations.

Would never return. Booked and paid in advance for a family room, was given a small room with one double bed and not even a chair. The "wardrobe" was waist height and had enough room for maybe an overnight change of clothes (see photosIt was technically clean but not clean if you can understand that. There was an awful ingrained smell about the place. There were industrial type warnings about leaving belongings in the room (which didnt instil confidenceThere wasnt any conveniences but you could buy a "Refreshments Pack" consisting of 2 tea bags, 2 coffee sachets, 4 sugars and 4 milk cartons for £5. It was like a horrible B&B but without the second "B" so its just a B. Quite seedy. A bloke on his own could rough it in there for one night if you were stuck. But its expensive for a dive.

Absolutely appalling! Was told off at the arrival to the door, after receiving 3 email confirmations that everything is ready for my stay! I was informed at the actual point of checking in that my booking was cancelled due to the unauthorised card payment (of course, I expected it to be charged at the arrivaland there are no rooms available. Staff falsely claiming the they contacted me regarding the payment issue..shocking experience being left out standing in central London at midnight! Staff was rude to me and very unhelpful, cannot recommend anything about Melville.

I purchased a Groupon voucher to stay at the hotel. Problems arose before we even arrived. The male member of staff who answered the phone displayed a poor attitude and he was quite rude. He advised me that the hotel was fully booked for the date I wanted to book. He then put the phone down whilst I was still talking!!! I then checked on line and the hotel had rooms available for the date I wanted. I phoned back and I raised the point. I was told to phone after dinner by the dame male. He then put the phone down. I called a couple of hours later, hoping to speak to a different staff member. However the same man answered the phone. I advised that I found him quite rude and I wanted to talk to a different member of staff. He continued being difficult and then denied any of the points that I was raising. He then stated that Groupon can only be used on certain days and if I wanted to book for the day I wanted then to do it on line which was more expensive. This is not the Groupon deal which stipulates you can book between Sun to Fri. Disgusting behaviour. I asked to speak to another member of staff and he told me that the person who deal with Groupon was on the other line. I advised him that I would wait. He told me that I could not wait and he proceeded to put the phone down. Needless to say, I am cancelling the voucher. The thought of staying at the hotel given the customer service fills me with dread.
