Rue Bernard Djibouti، Djibouti, Djibouti
Fondue restaurant chain offering heated pots of cheese, chocolate or broth for dipping & cooking.
Extremely slow service! Before i start , that day there was only 3 tables including ours, the place wasnt even crowded. It took 10 minutes for them to bring menus. We were 3 people , they brought 2 menus, so we had to ask for one more. They didnt even show up to get our orders so we had to call them 20 minutes after they gave us menus. After an hour we asked about our food and after 20 minutes of our complaint they brought our burgers. It was cold, average and overpriced for a small McDonalds hamburger! Then we asked for our bill and we had to remind them twice so they can manage to bring our bill in 25 minutes. And thair conversion rate was somehow very differant than ours. Our bill suppouse to cost 44 $ and they charged 56 $Long story short, if you insist on going to this place, i reccomend to go there a few hours before that you think you will feel hunger :)
Ok
The best restaurant I had been in Djibouti, the food was so so good and the location was great, service 100% good , price very reasonable. A must visit restaurant in Djibouti.
I got the camel burger. It was ok. More of a novelty you have to try than something youd go out of your way for. Service and ambiance at the restaurant is a bit lacking. Next time Ill try the sushi since people seem to really like that!
Food is bit pricey, nice set up and service was good
Friendly staff, meal was ok, good choice of beers..
Good service, excellent flavors, fusion cuisine options. Id come back.
Food is great, but this restaurant only takes cash or Mastercard. Don’t waste your time with Visa card or other forms of payments. The staff feel you are annoying when you ask service, unfortunately. Better go to Kempinski for great service and ambiance.
Disappointing, I ordered camel Chateau Breande basically camel tenderloin steak med rare i got well done and tuff as shoe leather flank steak from camel. I sent it back second try the steak was the same cut as the first still tuff! The French Fries were cold. Never going back unless I have no other choice.
Had a sushi 🍣 roll. It was good. Service was lacking. Was expecting a better look compared to pictures I seen online. Had a fish market smell when we walking in. It kinda hit you hard. Yes we ate inside. They dont take a card.
It is a small restaurant. Prices are a bit high and portion size is small. We ordered camel meat steak, cheese stuffed chicked and chicken steak. The camel meat wasnt tender enough but the chicken dishes were tasty.
I’ve been here a few times and it’s pretty consistent… Meaning good food, nice atmosphere (at night), and slow service. I ordered the camel first time I ate here because hey… let’s try camel. It was good. Other people in my party ordered sushi and it looked delicious. So the next couple of times going back I’ve ordered sushi… and it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had… in Djibouti. My only complaint are the cats that walk around and jump up on your chair to steal food off the table, while you’re eating.
Dead cockroaches on the seats is bad enough, live ones running over your feet was most off putting during lunch. While the sushi was ok, the lack of love and attention to this venue over the years is really starting to show. Pro tip is to order ahead as the wait at lunch can be long. Also faintly concerning are the sounds of murder you hear coming from the kitchen.
We ordered take out Amanda the quality of the food was wonderful. The food arrived still warm and very edible. I would highly recommend Melting Pot and will order again.
Great place for dinner. Staff is very friendly. The bar tender is the best, she knows what is going with everyone. Tends the bar, waits tables, makes sure the take out is ready to go, there us nothing that she doesnt do.
Nice, beautiful and well attended. Quality meals in a quite reasonable price. Camel is a must 🐪. Very recommendable.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Djibuti. Good quality and price. Very recommended!
Never give bad review for restaurant but everything have start for me it was this restaurant, from the moment we walked in we been asked to set inside tiny table in the corner with no air we didn’t like the table so we kindly asked for table in outdoor there was nice table so we place our self there , food was the real struggle in this restaurant we ordered food and waited for about 40 minutes than the food come one by one cold so I asked them to check it out the waiter take my food and come after 2 minutes microwave it, I was hungry waited a lot so I ask him again to check my food he removed the food so quickly without saying anything come back again asked me to wait 5 minutes, finally get my food and eat it didn’t enjoy the place or the service or the manager that was screaming on the stuff in-front of us bad experience , I won’t recommend it to anyone and never go there again .
They say you can pay with dollars but they do not have any change. We spent almost one hour trying to get the change we needed to pay. Additionally, the manager was really rude with us while we were trying to come up with a solutions, she started screaming at me in french (even though she knew anyone of us speaks french)
False ratings, maybe rated for drinks, AC not working just fans, overpriced food, wait time is an hour. Could not cut or chew the meat so I fed it to a cat nearby the table.
What can I say? Melting pot restaurant is fantastic! Great food. Great service. Very consistent no matter the location. Just damn good!
Spent good time with good food.
The coffee was bad pizza not that good but the view is magnificent
Always a pleasure to get a good lunch or simply some drinks in here, the staff and the cozy atmosphereof the garden really make me feel like home every time I cross by. Should mention that the food also isone of the best Djibouti has to offer. It’ s a nice place where you can recharge yourself with somedelicious food and positive vibes!
So hard to find a good place with vegetarian choices in this city. However Melting Pot surprised me in avery good way, they had local vegetarian stuff and also Japanese which I really enjoyed. Keep it up guys, you got yourself a loyal customer!
I love this place. The food is amazing and yummy. Plus they have nice alcoholic cocktails, friendly staff and they put music sometimes. So if your looking for a small joint you can enjoy a good meal and with your friends come to melting pot.
I love this place! Always excellent food, and a lovely ambiance. Its also fantastic that they have WiFi, because so few restaurants in this city do. I eat here every time Im in Djibouti!
Good food, ok atmosphere, mediocre service. Its one of the best restaurants in Djibouti, yes I know I gave it only three stars. However, its Djibouti and there are not that many options. If it were another country, I would not bother coming here. Also, check your bill. They try to add items you didnt order and then try to make excuses that its difficult to remove it.
If you like moderately hydrated rice around canned tuna, this is your joint. If you are a normal human that enjoys passing on food poisoning, I’d avoid. I didn’t take photos of the food because I sent it all back.Don’t listen to your friends. Just because you’re in Djibouti doesn’t mean you have to settle on quality....it might be more work finding a good place, but it’s worth it. Hit up Mer la Rouge or just go to the fish markets and cook it yourself. Don’t risk food poisoning from this place.
I have eaten here a few times with my co workers while at work in DJ. Every time I have gone here I have not been satisfied with the food. Tonight I went and the burger was cold when it came to me and the meat tasted strong. The people are friendly that work here but the service is slow and it takes almost an hour for the food to come out to you. The camel burger I had here one time was pretty good but I would never eat here again.
The dJabouti is here is very thick and tastes great. Very authentic and something everyone wants.
I have visited this restaurant since 2012 and sadly, the place has declined. The photo shown has the pool, which has been filled in as of 2016. The cleanliness of the place has declined. The bar is often sticky and it draws flies. The food quality has remained above average, but the service as usual is disjointed, with waiters and waitresses trying hard, but in need of a pro to come in and train. And of course, the people out on the street have become ever more demanding of "security fees" for the privilege of parking on a public street. Its only about 300 DJ Franc, but its the principle.
the staff of this place is so courteous and the service was so fast ! This is my favourite place for family outing.
Very nice place with delicious duck & camel meat
I would recommend to eat at that place
Best mojitos and camel meat
The perfect place to dine if you fancy some sushi or maybe a perfectly cooked steak. I would also like to express my appreciation for their cocktails ... wow! First class dining experience.
Very expensive. The camel isnt very good
02-10-2017 DJIBOUTIInitially the service seemed to be good, but, we ordered a boat of DJF 7.000 and a set of Rolls Tempura DJF 3.500. We received the boat with different types but never received the Tempered Rolls. After completed the Boat, we asked for these rolls and their answer was that they placed it on the boat. This was not true and it upset us, due that we know that these rolls never came to our table. At the end they did not charge for them, but, the bad moment was already created.Apart from this, the food seems to be very fresh and good taste.
Always a great place. Food is great and it is but a short walk from the port. Free WiFi and nice atmosphere. Ive been here dozens of times and it is always a good time.
Nice atmosphere. Reasonable range of alcoholic drinks. Not cheap (but then, is anywhere cheap in Djibouti?), good food in asian and western style. WiFi. Nice indoor area, but even nicer outdoor patio area. Nice for a meal, nice for a drink. Popular with international-western crowd.
The fish is DELICIOUS! If you are going there you NEED to get it. (It is better asking them earlier if they have fish on the phone before you go there.Gotta get lucky!
the best Suchi in Djibouti 👍
