Great little wine farm quality wine helpful and friendly staff reasonably priced as well. Well worth a visit.
Entry level wines are OK. The flagships are amazing
Amazing wine tasting experience, made us feel very special! Great wine, met the winemakers she is amazing and they have a real passion for making unique and great wine😊 5 stars is not enough!
Happy hours spent on farm with superb wine tasting and special lunch prepared for group. Full marks to the team who all assisted. Compliments to this very special family winery!
Punching above their weight. Really great wines.
Wonderful private winery. Great experience is the White Pinotage.
My hot favourite place.Intermate warm friendly and homly
Absolutely superb wines & atmosphere. Good service & lovely food.
Wonderful experience. Great wine and service. Would definitely recommend visiting.
Friendly service and oooo wow lovely lovely wine👌
Awesome experience at Mellasat, home of the White Pinotage. We were helped by Elzaan and she was overflowing with useful information. We had a very crisp and delicious Viognier as well.Beautiful view of the mountains, however we sat inside where the aircon was.Would definitely go again in winter time for some red wine.
Great wine tasting, friendly staff and an awesome Cabernet Sauvignon👌No limits on what to choose from, wine tasting
They have a white pinotage. Try it. its amazing.
Always lovely to go and visit the home of the white Pinotage. Great service with knowledgeable people, all the wine are really good and loved the Chardonnay.
Good wines good service. Lovely place
Great winemaker very informative and very good wines. Really enjoyed it!!
Lovely friendly people, wines are wonderful
Saturday "Synergy" wine pairing brunch was very intimate and very well staffed. The wines were poured without reservation. The food was bite-sized or tapas sized - though full portions were available. The secluded space in an old Cape Dutch farm gives a very strong impression of what winery living was like before the "discovery" of South African wines after 1994. Well worth visiting for the old school experience. Very unspoiled.
Rare and exquisite white pinotage find here! Small but lovely venue setting with trees and peaceful vineyard. Highly recommended a visit if you havent been here!
Beautiful farm, beautiful views and great wine!We did a trail run there on Saturday 6 March and the views are amazing.Friendly staff with the best wine maker :)
Lovely wines, home of the White Pinotage! Enjoy your tasting and have a bottle outside under the lustrous trees. Platters and Pop-up restaurant available.
Informal, relaxed, great experience, very hands on. Staff is amazing, great service
Another wonderful Club Members Day at Mellasat. Beautiful day for a special occasion when Stephen Richardson, his wife Janet and the staff treat their customers to a superb meal on the house. This year, despite being a little different due to Covid restrictions, was one of the best and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks to all at Mellasat.Maurice and Coral Meyer.
What an amazing experience at Mellasat. The Grande synergy sounds expensive but is so worth it because of the amazing wine that you get with each course. Fantastic service! You MUST try the salmon fish cakes and babotie samoosas 😍and of course the famous white Pinotage.
Extremely friendly person at the counter, and a lovely place overall.
Our arrival at Mellasat Vineyards was uneventful mainly because it was on a Monday. The mood was tranquil and you could see that Covid had struck a big blow in terms of business. But, the wine tasting was informative and generous. They know their stuff. Relaxing under the majestic oak trees gave me such a feeling of gratitude and contendness. The wine compliments the holistic experience of relaxation and warmth. They are the home of white Pinotage. I was impressed!!!
My favourite wine farm. I love this years Seraphic, best ever. Their white Pinotage is also great, nicely wooded and very different to red Pinotage.
What a great way to celebrate International Pinotage Day!!
Excellent White pinotage pairing with a most delicious 3 course meal. Well worth every rand spent.
We visited this Vinyard a while ago and I never posted my review. We really enjoyed the wine selection and shared a Cheese & Charcuterie platter. The service was great and we cant wait to go back to the home of the white Pinotage. 😋
Stunning mountain and Vineyards views. Great wines and home to the White Pinotage! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It was a sweltering hot day but sitting under a big old oak, sipping wine and eating a beautiful cheese board was the ultimate way to cool down.
Beautiful place and friendly people, wine tasting was top class.
Its a nice Quiet place very relaxing. If you care about the decor inside of the build and restaurant, I would say the foods delicious its outstanding but the area were you make your order it isnt the best way and maybe the seating and decor isnt as up to date.
......our first encounter with this establishment was already a foretaste of good things to expect! At the end of September we had emailed them to book our reservation with the intention of visiting on the 15th Oct. 2017 we were blown away that the very same afternoon we had a reply from Tessa confirming our reservation! Wow! Very impressive! As the time came nearer we discovered that we had a more important engagement on the 15th Oct. so we phoned to ask if we can alter our reservation to a week before again we had the opportunity to speak to Tessa who was most obliging to make our visit possible for Lunch time on the 8th Oct. and guess what? Tessa happened to be our host so we met her in person which turned out to be absolute-lii magnificent as Tessa turned out to be an outstanding host, very knowledgeable with every detail of every wine she poured us to taste! We had come to experience a Sunday Lunch with a difference, Wine tasting 3 whites Seraphic, White Pinotage, Chardonnay & 3 reds Rose, Shiraz, Revelation plus a Platter with cured meats, cheeses, olives & breads and oh yes Chocolate brownies! It was delightful-ii delicious and very filling! The only let down was that there coffee machine was out of order as we real-lii needed to have an espresso after all the wines but that wasnt to serious we knew that the Wine-lands Engen was on the way back to Cape Town were we could and did stop to have that coffee! This venue is set in a Picturesque wine yard with beautiful gardens filled with large oak trees and lots of green grass! The reception area is very well decorated in a real winery way, although the tasting room is rather small but very cos-ii with a pleasant fire-place and seen that it was a bit chillii today they had a log-fire going filling the room with a very romantic ambiance! This place comes very high-lii recommended by us and its worth a visit some or other time from all wine lovers!................its our opinion that this venue will do well if they have a full on restaurant as you are unable to order a more solid meal but we are told that they are working towards this for the future!............Clap! Clap! Clap!....Feb. 2020...And we are back again this time to redeem our WiKi-Deal Voucher for the Vintners Platter, a glass of wine and an Exquisite Wine Tasting Experience. With the time-slot that we choose we had the whole tasting room to ourselves and that included having and enjoying the full attention of Elzaan and Gaymari who where absolute-lii on point in every way. Very knowledgeable about every wine that they served us. We even had the thrilling experience of visiting "The Cemetery Of Forgotten Wines" which occupies the entire basement under the tasting-room, an amazing encounter. We discovered once again that despite the fact that they dont have a dedicated and full-on restaurant they have week-lii & month-lii events that offers "food & wine pairing", in winter they have a month long "soup & wine pairing", they have a Spanish-Day where everything centers around real Spanish traditions. They even have a Spanish red wine in the Mellasat Range "Tempranillo, a true-lii well flavoured taste-ii wine. We all fell in love with it. On the 7th March 2020 they have "Run The Vine & Tread The Grapes" and on the 21st & 22nd March they have the "Gourmet Burger & Wine Week-End". We believe "The Picnic Days" are incredibly awesome which we will definite-lii attend when next it takes place...The Landscapes around the whole estate are picturesque and beautiful....everything about this Boutique Wine Estate and venue rocks!.....
Mediterranean burgers are a winner!! So be sure to try them. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and refreshing wines.
Excellent wines, passionate Wine maker and beautyful atmosphere
Tranquil setting, amazing views, friendly staff, and great wine. Loved the white pino!
A hidden gem. Great service. Lovely wines. Picturesque views. Soft ambience. Stunning experience. Xxx
Absolutely wonderful experience, great wines with a back story and a wonderfully catered picnic. Great little gem to visit
"Home of the white pinotage"This white pinotage is an unique and interesting wine to taste. It may be a bit misleading as it tastes more like a chardonnay to me.The rest of the wines are a bit pricey yo be honest (but it is a boutique winerey). They wines are nice, but not spectacularin my opinion. The farm is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. A hidden gem I suppose. they also offer cheese platters to enjoy in yhe tranquil surroundings.
We enjoyed the wines and the nice atmosphere during the “Paarl harvest celebration”.
Nice small winery in a quiet area, although they installed speakers... Kinda sad as we’re not looking for a discotheque on a Sunday morning! Wines are average.
Beautiful intimate venue, tasting room was a bit small, but the wines were good. The staff and owner were so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a cheese and cured meats platter which was delicious! (I love cheeseand the tastiest chocolate brownies, they were so good we bought more to take home 😊
Lovely place, small production of good whites and reds. Very nice services and friendly attitude. The white Pinotage is something different .... and good. You can tell that the owner takes great care in wine making.
What a pleasant surprise to find this boutique winery and home of the worlds only white Pinotage!Great people, a hands-on team, shared with is their history and wines, which includes an excellent Viognier and Tempranillo, apart from their signature Pinotage.Well worth a visit!
Im so glad I discovered this vineyard. Had a lovely time there. The food was good and the service was excellent. Everyone so friendly. Also the wine is spectacular! Well worth a visit. I will be back :)
Great wine, great venue, great service. A gem worth a visit!
Beautiful setting and great friendly service! Delicious wines with a difference :-)
Off the beaten track, easy access but quiet & offering a fabulous unique White Pinotage. Welcoming & pretty setting
This is the home of white Pinotage wine, definitely worth a visit if you enjoy a wooded white wine. The young lady who presents the tastings is also very friendly as well as knowledgeable about the wines.
