Melbourne Hotel - Hotel in Westport, New Zealand
Check in great, location great, room was Ok. Neat and tidy - but a few " permanents" upstairs, cans being thrown down into carpark, and residents starting with noise at 5:30am..
not bad for the price ..room are clean with basics..no WiFi and hotel isnt openbar and restaurant just around the corner..
Clean and quiet. Business is up for sale so no facilities ie restaurant, wifi and no in room info to let you know what is close by. Not bad though for a budget motel.
Atrocious,if you are looking for somewhere nice to stay then do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place it is not worth the time or money. It has a long way to go before it will be at an acceptable living standard
The place is not worth what we paid. Cheerful people doing their best but have a long way to go. A start would be to charge accordingly and get a service person to improve the reception of the channels for the TVs on site.
Stayed a year ago, & found value for money, Rooms clean and tidy, for age. However this occasion, terrible would be an understatement. Reception unattended, sticky dirty phone to use to contact their services. We were then put into a room with missing manhole in the bathroom. The room was extreamly damp smelling, causing myself asthma. The smell of mold had tried to be concealed with plug in spray. After complaining to the front desk, we were shown photos that showed the pipes in the ceiling space had been leaking for some time. Ownership of this problem, was a debate between landlords and the leasee, which I could understand, even simplify with. However there was no reason with Knowledge of the condition of this room to rent to guests. After complaining we were given a different room. This also had signs of mold on the ceiling, with no working telephone or TV yet both were on display in the room, after again having to make complaints we were given a $25.00 discount. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately however we will never stay here again.
Really old and run down place. I wouldnt recommend to stay hear. Fees like never been upgraded or any maintenance done. Smelly room, moldy shower🤮🤢 list is pretty long. I dont like to complaint but our stay was awful and couldnt slip whole night. I dont know how they call them 3 star hotel. 😡
Advertised 1 king bed, provided 2 singles pushed together with king sheets. Fell through in the night horrible. Mould growing in the mini-fridge and on the handle.Used toilet paper in bathroom on arrival. Loud and dirty. Wouldnt stay here again
I’m not one to usually write reviews but felt the need to let others know before booking at this place. Can’t complain too much as I got the room at a cheap price and I suppose you get what you pay for. The room was outdated but fairly clean and tidy from what I could tell. That was until we went to get into bed. There was blood stains on one pillow as well as the sheets. There was crumbs and hair from the previous people who had stayed. Quite clearly they hadn’t washed or changed the sheets. Honestly was disgusting. We were lucky we had sleeping bags and pillows of our own so used them but if we didn’t I would have honestly rather slept in the car. Especially in the current COVID climate how can you not change the sheets?! Honestly I was repulsed and won’t ever be back.
Not recommended to anyone. No room attended for 3 days. Rubbish bins not emptied, wet towels for 3 nights. No toaster, microwave, knives forks or plates. 1 tv channel and bedside plugs dont work. And the heres all you need at the reception dont come and see us aagain attitude
The room was tidy but the bathroom had mold and had grime on the shower rail and when you turn the tap on it made a horrible groaning sound which would have annoyed the neighbor as it annoyed us. The television had 4 channels and on the website it said there was a bar and restaurant on site but we found upon arrival it was closed. In my opinion the place could do with some maintenance and a good clean. I would not recommend to friends or family let alone travellers
Outstanding hospitality! Our work crew is currently staying here for a couple of weeks and the manager Sujit has been an exceptionally accomodating host for us and has taken every single opportunity to go above and beyond to ensure that our stay here is as comfortable as possible. The consistency and quality of the room servicing is excellent and all of the staff have been super friendly and are always more than happy to help us with anything we need. I honestly cannot recommend the Westport Motor Hotel enough. I have travelled many times for work in the past and stayed at a lot of different places and can honestly say that I have never felt as welcome as I have at the Westport Motor Hotel thanks to Sujit and his team. 15/10!
Where to begin the accomodation was not worth the three star rating it was give. There was no mention of the restaurant and bar being closed and as for the room even though the bed was comfortable that was as good as the room got. The tv only had 4 channels to choose from and the shower had mold as well as not very well cleaned. It cost $250 for 2 nights and I would not recommend to friends or family. Would also like to mention if you book by credit card they will deduct without your consent after being told to pay when we arrived or left.
Would highly recommend not to stay here, to start the kettle, phone and bathroom door were all broken. The place smells old and dusty, there was about an inch of dust on the bedside table and on the broken phone. There was mould in the bathroom and the room was unclean in general. We complained to reception and all the lady behind the desk had to say was that we had already paid so we would not get a refund (I hadnt even requested a refund by that point). After she couldnt find any solution I asked for a refund and have emailed since but they refuse. Very unprofessional.
Very poor reception and took long time to find booking. When we got to the room it was of poor quality and smelt of cigarette smoke that they had tried to disguise by using an over powered spray. We walked out to find better accommodation at the same price. The room and hotel is in need of a refurbishment.Would not recommend anybody to stay there.
Booked the cheapest studio room. Bed was ok place was tidy but there was no microwave like most motels have and there was also no cutlery or plates in the room so couldnt really eat in your room. Staff we meet seemed nice and check in and out was easy.
We are very impressed with this hotel. It is old but very clean. The bed is comfortable and a generous size. The location is convenient. The food is excellent. We ate in the restaurant the first night and continued to eat there because the food was so good. I would recommend this hotel and would come back.
