Melba's Chocolates - Chocolate shop in Mount Barker, Australia
Great spot, have visited more than once. Awesome selection.
A lovely place to visit rain, hail or shine 🙂 They have an amazing selection of different flavoured hot chocolate 🍫 The lollies and the sweets range is unbelievable!!!The staff are also quite lovely 😍 always willing to help 😌The only reason for the 4 stars is the prices are pretty hefty for some of their range.
Absolute ridiculous prices. Quality is nowhere near the price tag. Happy to pay for quality, but it just wasnt there. Could of spent half the amount on Cadbury, and got ten times the chocolate
Awesome coffee and delicious chocolate for all ages
Very Enticing place to Visit..Great for the Taste buds Not so good for the hips
Pretty sweet to say the least! This place has something for everyone!Felt like you were stepping into Willy Wonkas chocolate factory... great stop for families!
I think for the price I was expecting a little more. It was very nice chocolate but it is very overpriced. The place is set out nicely and looks inviting and offers hot drinks and food
Great range great product but prices have certainly risen since last there :(
Every now and then, Ill run into someone who claims not to like chocolate, and while we live in a country where everyone has the right to eat what they want, I want to say for the record that I dont trust these people, that I think something is wrong with them, and that theyre probably serial killers.
Caramel chocolate was so creamy and salty. Makes me feel like i’m back with my uncle
This place is awesome been there a few times really enjoy it friendly staff great place to visit especially if your up for a chocolate or liquorice fix well recommend
First time visiting Melbas chocolates, loved it!!! First time eating Melbas chocolates, loved it!! Such a good variety of chocolates and licorice and at very reasonable prices. Lovely staff. Great that you can watch the chocolate being made. I had the best hot chocolate from their cafe I have ever tasted! Coconut Rough hot chocolate, made with coconut milk and melted dark chocolate. Was so good I travelled back past the next day to get another! Highly recommend Melbas 👌
Delicious chocolates, very extensive range something for everyone.
I love this place I love all the funny chocolate like chocolate motorbikes chocolate trucks chocolate cata the ladies that worked there nice the chocolate factory wheelchair accessible I like the chocolate alphabet and Numbers they have chocolate frogs dinosaurs strange drinks I have never visited before they were excellent 10 out of 10 better than fruit chocs in Adelaide❤️❤️👍
Dropped in on a lazy winter Sunday with a party of 4 - walked out with amazing treats for the road trip home.....AND possibly the best hot chocolate in the Adelaide hills!!!! We will be returning.
Great place to visit and the staff are very patient with guys that have a disability and thanks for the free Latte greatly appreciated, will come back again 👍🏆Gary
Probably one of the best chocolate factory’s I’ve been too. Great range and well priced.
I am not a chocalate person myself. We were just passing by and decided to take a look. Kids bought a bunch of different candies and chocolates and I cannot stop eating them. Next time I will have to go buy something only for myself!
So many chocolates and lollies to choose from. Worth the drive.
One of my favourite places to visit in the Adelaide Hills. So much choice Friendly staff. The smell is amazing when you walk in
Melbas was a great way to spend a couple hours, together with the Woodside Cheese Wrights and the gin distillery, very pleasant visit! Brought stuff home of course...
A lot of delicious looking choices, very small area so can get cramped during busy season. Just one thing we didnt like was the queue to checkout. Need to be more clear on where to line up. Had to wait 2 times because people were confused on where to line up and didnt want to feel like we pushed in.
Took a friend there for the first time and she couldnt believe the quality of the produce. Had to drag her out of the shop. A bit pricey but you pay for what you get. Awsome
Havent been here 4 awhile the look is amazing. Great cafe and food. Awesome assortment of condiments. Friendly, helpful service. Worth a trip. 😊
I really enjoyed the chocolate i have bought from this lovely shop. The workers were so nice and friendly and now this is my go to chocolate place. Very delicious chocolate especially the dark rocky road and i specifically enjoyed the dark chocolate cherry chocs. i would now recommend this shop to anyone who needs or wants chocolate.
Lovely chocolate factory with yummy chocolates. The cow pat chocolates are fun, and they have a wide variety of lollies and chocolates. The coconut rough is delicious.Staff are very friendly. Well be back!
Drove my client with special needs up to Melbas in Woodside today for a visit, which he was very excited about! The staff were welcoming, friendly, understanding, and just fantastic!! The staff working in the various chocolate making rooms were happy to tell us all about what they were making, and pointing out the various machines. We had a great afternoon, bought some yummy chocolates (my companion was chuffed that he could buy a chocolate letter which matched his initials). We will certainly be back!
Some really nice chocolates. They have a great range. The kids will love it here so many varieties of chocolates to choose from.
From the moment you enter the door and are hit by the chocolate aroma, youll fall in love with this little place. Melbas is a classic traditional little chocolate factory. Filled with lollies and chocolates of all types, you can watch these delights being professionally made, chat to the fantastic staff, enjoy a drink or simply enjoy some top quality chocolate.I first visited Melbas as a child, now I take our kids to visit this place. Their eyes light up when we say were going to Melbas - there favourite the chocolate frogs. My favorites the chocolate freckles or choc coffee beans. However If your visiting you simply must try a hot chocolate. Drinking a hot chocolate made from REAL chocolate is just something else!
Perfect Fathers Day present. Called in to Melbas Chocolates and purchased a $25 bag with all the favourites a dad would like. My Dad is 90 and he will just love these in front of the telly.Happy Fathers Dad. 👍
I assumed this place was a museum but was mistaken as its just a shop with a viewing window to see certain chocolates being made. With covid restrictions its quiet and the taste testing its on. Great chocolates....ended up spending $65!! safe to say my toddler was so overwhelmed :)
Heres a great place to bring interstate visitors or anyone with a sweet tooth. They have a great range of chocolates and other sweets. You can see confectionery being made and get the best hot chocolate youve ever tasted. But heres a tip from parents of a toddler: white chocolate doesnt necessarily mean less mess.
Always love going here. The staff are always friendly and obliging. They do get to know you over time and recognised me through my order history. The chocolate and variety are exquisite and always available, rare to be out of stock. It is great to watch the lines in action and what they making and explain what is going through the line.
Massive range of chocolate, lollies, gift bags and gift boxes big and small. Three different sorts of hot chocolates. Seating area outside.
An old fashioned chocolate factory that definitely worth a visit if you are a chocolate fan.Has all kinds of flavour, drinks and ice cream. They also provide a playground outside. Kids will love this play for sure.
A must see attraction for Tourists and a favourite Easter Tradition! The chocolate is world class!
Huge selection of chocolates . And the chocolates really nice tastings . small drink bar with coffee & milkshakes . Its worth a Trip out
MELBAS CHOCOLATE FACTORY WAS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE VISIT.We travelled an hour to Melbas, only for the small rooms to not be able to fit a pram, 2 children and 1 adult in the walk in room. The workers in the packing room and chocolate making area were rude and blunt and didnt explain what was done.Given the fact the entrance was free was the only good part about it, but after walking around the small one size factory the prices of the chocolates were absolutely ridiculous! Averaging around $6-$18 for small chocolates or $60 for a "dads chocolate bag" is a whopping $60.... VERY SIMILAR to the "darrel lea dads licorice bag" which goes for around $25.
What a Fantastic chocolate heavenSo much to choose from . Prices are greatStaff friendly.
Ive been here so many times and love it but today I tried their Hot chocolates. And all I can say is they are to die for! There is a number of different flavours to choose from. They use their own chocolate straight from the tap into the milk jug.Absolutely amazing
Great place , but bring a full wallet 😛
Fun experience for kids. Hot chocolate in the coffee shop tastes great!
Great old fashioned Chocolate factory. You cant help coming out with a few purchases. The hilarious cow pat chocolate! Who would have thought Aussie humour in chocolate form!
Nice range of chocolate and sweets as well as some top notch coffee and hot chocolate. Call ahead to ensure they are making the chocolate on the day as we unfortunately visited during stocktake meaning everything was shutdown.
Great spot to visit in the Adelaide hills. Lots of sweet treats to buy and some samples on offer. Cafe on site for coffee, hot drinks, chocolate and small food. Free entry.
Was surprised because the chocolate actually tasted good. Kids love this place for the samples and seeing how it’s all made. It’s very hard to visit without buying something. Be warned. It’s also a lovely drive to get there so enjoy the day
A great place to go to get some choclate and a nice drink. The staff here are really friendly and good to talk to and the prices are amazing for the quality you get. I defiantly recommend that you go here and give it a go. Just look around grab some stuff and taste how good it is.
A very unexpected Chocolate lovers paradise in a quiet little town.In no way does the lovely old barn appear to be a chocolate factory from the outside but the moment you walk inside youll be feeling like a kid in a candy store! So much to choose from and so much to try, all the way around the room are samples to taste to help make your selection easier (or harder for any chocolate lover because youll just want more). The staff are all super friendly and go about their day to day of processing and packaging.Very exciting visit for the whole family with lovely undercover eating out front where you can enjoy your selection with a nice cold drink or fresh coffee from the cafe inside.I highly recommend one of the chocolate bags, very good value for money with lots inside.
Lots and lots of chocolate, lollies and heaps more of everything sweet. Great place to visit
Nice chocolate factory with lots of different chocolate options. They have few processes on display for public like - coating chocolate, packing etc. This is not as big as the chocolate factory in philip island victoria but has a different vibe to it. The chocolate scupltures on display showing lots of chocolate powder on ground and everywhere makes you feel you are in chocolate world as there is lots of chocolate all around that room. There are public toilets including the disabled/baby change room. Also, there are free samples and a coffee shop. And we went here there was a spud truck selling yummy stuffed spuds and nachos. Loved it.. !!Support local businesses and pay them a visit !!
