Beautiful coffee shop inside the hotel with great service and atmosphere.Its hard not to like visiting here.From the moment you step in, its nice and cool, with beautiful architecture.The food tastes just as good as any other top coffee-shop in Ponce. Ingredients taste fresh.Service was by far the highlight. I asked for honey instead of syrup, and a waitress brought it in 30 seconds. I went to buy an overpriced chocolate bar, and they gave me a subtle warning. Fast service and constant checking up made me feel comfortable and attended.I legitimately feel bad I was unable to tip the waitress since they left before I could.Prices are ok, a bit higher than the usual, but nothing obscene (except for the chocolate bars, theyre overpriced at $4 when you can get them for $1 literally everywhere else).Average wait time, 20-30 minutes.Overall, beautiful coffee-shop with great service and a nice personality. Worth checking out if you want to hide from the heat.

I found this place looking for a good cup of Java on a vacation trip around the island over a year ago. I noticed that they have some vegan options but didnt had the chance to try any. Now I regret not doing it before. Their Vegan Bowl is fresh and delicious, from the 3 options, quinoa, rice or green, I got the rice. Sit and enjoy because their atmosphere will allow you to have a relax time.

The best coffee shop in the periphery of Plaza Las Delicias in Ponce. Melao offers excellent service, good variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch or a casual early dinner. The coffee is consistently good, which is not a give these days with the proliferation of coffee shops in PR. The place has a welcoming atmosphere, nicely decorated with multiple big screen TVs ideal for catching up with sports. If you are staying in the Ponce Plaza Hotel having breakfast here is a no-brainer. If you are staying in one of the nearby hotels, you should probably make the small effort of walking a few minutes to start your day with a really good breakfast.

Coffee is really good. Breakfast is average. Bacon should be grilled not microwaved. Please get it right. French toast were just like regular butter grilled toast no batter and some fresh fruit plus sirup on the side.

Perfect location in the heart of the square of Ponce. Grabbed coffee from a smiling, artistic barrista every day while visiting this lovely city. Best coffee hand down!! Loved the dark, strong coffee and the tasty cappuccino. Excellent customer service. Delicious brunches, too. Go!!

Great location at a hotel in a beautiful town square. The food was ready in like 5 minutes and close to perfection. Highly recommended.

Stood in line for 45 minutes and never had my order taken because I finally left. I must say that it was Thanksgiving, and there was only one person taking orders and making coffee and only one person cooking. This is not a reflection of the people working, but the management not properly planning for their business.

Best cappuccino I have had in a very long time, very smooth, not bitter, and the flavor was so delicious. We also had the omelets with potatoes which were very good. Great breakfast, I would return just for the coffee!

Food and service are excellent. During our stay at hotel, we stopped in for breakfast (waffles w/ fruit), lunch (fish tacos), coffee and dessert. I’m not a coffee aficionado and don’t prefer it so I can’t vouch for that... however, the fish tacos were great! So fresh, so yummy. I would go back just for that. We got a bunch of desserts (brownies, cookie cups, key lime pie- while all were good, my personal favorite was the key lime pie. They plated with caramel drizzle which was too sweet for me. Luckily, it’s on the side so you can take it or leave it. Servers were friendly and helpful. It wasn’t cheap, still it was well worth the price.

We stopped here for breakfast on two occasions and found both to be delicious. The mallorca breakfast sandwich is a delicious take on the traditional bread, and the bomba is a great coffee drink to get you going in the morning. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is comfortable and clean.

Ambiance and location: It is a very small spot adjacent to the hotel and casino yet it tends to have such a calming environment. Occasionally there might be a bit of noise but that’s expected on a hotel setting specially on booked weekends. Parking is available in the hotel’s parking complex and it’s covered by the restaurant if you buy from them. It is also covered by the casino if you play in it.The food: It is simply delightful to the taste and greatly presented. They are also very flexible with food allergies (Nuts, lactose, etc.and nit picking with vegetables or fruits one may not like. Rarely do they make mistakes with an order and if they do they will quickly correct it.Pricing: It is surprisingly budget friendly and gives quite the run in the park to the pricing of all mayor hotels on the Metropolitan area of the island. They also have breakfast combos and a good variety of coffees and drinks to pick from. The menu options are also plentiful.Overall it’s a great place to visit as a tourist and/or local.

Food and service were excellent! Melao Omelette was delicious and so was the latte!! Cleanliness 👍The only thing was the wait time, but its understandable in these pandemic times.Highly recommended!

One of the Best Coffee shop in town and really delicious breakfast!

Went for breakfast with my family like I have done over the years and recently, I have noticed that the personnel is less friendly than usual and they are not consistently stocking certain items in their menu such as oatmeal and French toast. I hope that, in the future, they will correct these slights as they were amazing back then and have real potential.

You have to pasa by this place if you are in the Downtown Ponce area (Plaza las Delicias), you can park in their multilevel parking, and have your ticket validated for 3 hours, which means that you not only get some delicious coffee, but also a parking spot to sightsee the cultural area of “La Ciudad Señorial”.

After a small work meeting across the street at Chef’s Creations our group came to Melao Coffee Shop to finish with a coffee. It was excellent! The coffee was good and they even had almond milk. The service was kind and friendly. They seem to get a good turnaround from the locals as you can see many coming in and being greeted as if the were friends and family. I enjoy this kind of establishment.

Good coffee, great atmosphere, has a small kids zone so you can drink your coffee and tea in peace. Sell food at good prices. Next/inside the hotel area.

Excellent coffee and great breakfast choices. We had a variety of omelets and they were all good. The french toast was good too! Highly recommend Café Melao.

This review is based on over 10 visits, the coffee is good and also the oatmeal. The burgers are ok and the service is ok. The problem here is that the mess up the orders all the time.

Nice little coffee shop in Ponce just off the Plaza de las Delicias. Very casual and quite atmosphere good selection of delicious coffee. The service is at the counter, staff was nice and spoke English. Good price, food selection is pretty expansive, desert not so much.

This spot is absolutely delicious!! We got the chorizo and ground beef burger. Best burger I’ve ever eaten. I also got a chocolate mousse cup and the latte. So darn good. My kids got a burger quesadilla and two cheesecakes and they pleaded to come back tomorrow for breakfast which we definitely will.

Excellent little coffee shop! Fast wifi from the plaza and they have a great selection of good food.If you are exploring Ponce I recommend stopping by. Its a nice warm atmosphere and is kid friendly.As an American traveler, they dont have black drop coffee but do have Americanos and other coffee drinks.Their food selection is diverse and looks good.

The place is kind of expensive for the space and service. Bad organization in sitting, small tables, people sit befoee ordees are ready and because you pickup your own tray, when you are to sit, tables are taken. Food ok, not great.

Coffee/lunch place with decent menu and bottle beers. A/c inside, not the best music ever but good for a quick bite. I had the hamburger which was very good. Not a table service, you pay they call and you reach your food. Above local standards. Street parking only.

Fantastic place to go for breakfast or lunch. Its not just a coffee shop, but also has a good lunch menu including sandwiches, burgers, wraps, soups and salads. It also has a kids menu. The menu is in English, so its easy to read if youre a tourist. The atmosphere is great and friendly. If youre visiting Ponce, I would definitely recommend you go there.

Great atmosphere and excellent coffee. Staff was very welcoming and breakfast was very good. Its a tab in the higher dollar amount compared to other breakfast places in the area but worth the visit.
