Melaka Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary (Taman Rama-rama & Reptilia Melaka) in Batu Berendam

One of the best parks I’ve been to in recent times! Animals and the Place well taken care off.. nice place to bring young kids to expose them to animal kingdom! And so many butterflies, snakes and crocodiles!! Love this place and definitely will revisit!

Really excellent place to visit. The habitats for the animals were nice sized and very well maintained and all the animals appeared happy. The butterflies love to land on you, so be careful not to squish them!

Great place for kids there realy enjoyed, very near to zoo melaka well managed, parking good.

Nice place to visit with family. More than butterflies. Many reptile likes crocodile and snake. Worth going here than Zoo for who have a short time or dont want to walk long track.

Went there during a typical weekend in the afternoon and not too crowded. As a fan of reptiles, it is a fascinating place with various species. Definitely my favourite place to visit in Melaka.

Easily one of the best animal parks i have ever been to in malaysia. Animals here are treated well, fed well and have a balanced ecosystem.Despite being called a reptile and butterfly park, it also houses a small number of birds, fishes, turtles.I think this should be a must go place for animal enthusiasts. Definitely will go again.Only setback is not wheelchair friendly

Very calm..and those butterflies brings joy in ur heart..and for children its a fairytale..pls go..so many animals..education trip and family times..the workers r v friendly &helpful

First time visiting the Melaka butterfly and reptile sanctuary and it was a pleasant one! The feeding experience was fantastic being able to be with lots of birds that perch on your shoulders as you feed them. Such a close and personal encounter. I have been to many similar sanctuaries but none provided such an experience. We expected to visit this location for 1h but ended up staying about 2 hours as it’s really huge inside. Only feedback is to make the place more wheelchair / stroller friendly. And toilets are quite dirty so avoid them!

Pro point :-a lot of animal can be see at this park( butterfly, snake, bird, turtle, crocodile,…etc)-landskap was good.Con point-price a bit high-not suitable to bring baby stroller

Nice place, friendly staff, lovely creatures, pretty visitors. Worth spending time & money here to get close with mother nature.

Went for emergency for washroom in there but im so dissapointment with the staff because they never let me in and they ask me to pay for ticket, then only can use washroom.how people can be this much rude or unhumanity for helping peoples in emergency.

Nice things:1. The Secret Garden is an interesting addition, a cool dark room with AC. A nice break from the hot and humid weather outside lol.2. Kids get to interact with some of the animals and the guides there were helpful and knowledgeable.3. Multiple hand washing stations available.Things I think can be improved:1. We paid RM8 to have a bag of animal treats, but I feel like the amount of things in that bag was unjustifiable for the price. Just a few stalks of bayam (?for the tortoises (they only eat the leaves btw), 3 tiny bags of kuaci, fish food and cut up breads. Increase the amount or reduce the price maybe?2. The rabbits & hedgehogs in the Rabbit Island look unhealthy & unhappy. The rabbits feet were in severe condition and they walk a little bit funny.We can also fish for guppies there, but were only provided with strainers that are obviously too short for the depth of the guppy pond.

Worth exploring this place.

Suraya is very professional she welcomed us with her big warmth smile. Even though she has her mask on we can feel her sincerity in welcoming us. She knows her stuffs very well. She is very knowledgeable she explained abt the animals with confidence. She gave constant reminder to our young kids the dos and donts. Her customer service is SUPERB! She went the extra mile.... it was drizzling she took out her small umbrella from her cargo pants and put it above our head. She is very kind. Keep up the GREAT WORK Suraya!! Very informative and relaxing... But sad to see most butterflies lost half or most of their wings. People should know butterfly wings are fragile and workers should take note of this..

The best place to go date with your partner and a lot of fun activities if you buy the feeding pack. Overall 5/5 stars will repeat soon with my family one day. But the little problem is the toilet smells bad.

Lovely place, a very educational place for everyone, a bit old but still looks ok, plenty of things to do and see

Great place to bring your kids to this hidden gem.There are many butterflies and other very unique species i.e. blue pigeon, emu, large tortoise, playful lovebirds and many more that you wouldnt find anywhere else.Surprising, this place is huge and cosy and properly shaded. Be ready to spend about an hour or more as they have petting and feeding activities for kids.Definitely will come again 👍👍

It is a re-visit after 20 years. Impressive improvement and friendly stuff which will make you more excited while feeding those animals. I will definitely come back again with my other friends again. A perfect place to hang out

Pros: Good place to bring your kids. Got many animals and insects, staff are helpful and informative.Cons: Not stroller and wheelchair friendly. Toilets are bit dark and creepy. Some of facilities a bit rundown. There was construction wood and debris that were dumped near the emu cage.

Relatively well-maintained considering they were closed for a long time due to covid. Staff actually checked vaccination status at ticket counter so that is very good. Unfortunately it was drizzling when we came so didnt see any other butterfly except for the Eggfly, so thats disappointing so better to come only if the weather is not rainy. Place is completely unsuitable for strollers and wheelchairs, so do take into consideration if you or family members need this. Toilets lighting need to be improved, it was so dark that it feels a bit creepy 😅.

It was absolutely wonderful. Ive been to the park many times and found that this time around that there are more butterflies, birds and their policy of giving back to nature. Along with a team of knowledgeable staff. Its worth the visit.

I tot its a small place. But its quite big inside. Not only butterfly. But reptiles too ! Suitable for family with young kids. Not Suitable for older peoples , as u have to walk a lot n using stairs to enter 1 exhibit to another exhibit . Some of the cages needs to repair as can become dangerous to small children.

A wonderful gem of an attraction in Melaka city. While I find most of the places in Melaka to be tacky and poor in taste and design, this place had me pleasantly surprised. Its much larger than it appears, and youll end up spending more time wandering around than expected.The landscaping & plants are beautifully thought through and maintained, and there are a myriad of species of birds, butterflies, bugs and reptiles to be found. The enclosures are very well maintained, and the animals within are active, healthy, and easy to spot.Even each micro-enclosure is populated and well maintained with various different species. Thumbs up to the management of this place, and hope they keep this up.This place is on the fringe of Melaka city, somewhat far from the centre, but its well worth the trip, especially if youre traveling with curious small children.

I came here on 1.dec 2021, ticket at 25/p, staff are vy friendly, explaining every where, every detail, the butterfly is vy full & fly on ur whole body, the white parrot at entrance is vy naughty & loud, greet u w halo!

adult rm25, children rm20. but better take package with feed animals. suggest to come morning because afternoon will be hot. my daughter very happy. can feed rabbit, catch gapi fish, feed nuri and tortoise. have toilet but not very comfortable especially if you are woman because it use squat toilet, scare if suddenly snake come out, haha. parking space large. at least need to come once to experience it.

We came here during weekdays. Around 10am.Pro: Not crowded. The staff are friendly and helpful. Well maintained despite MCO previously.Cons: The route is a bit narrow so not very suitable if you are bringing wheelchair/strollerOverall good experienceRating 4/5

Our kids loved this place. Many activities for them. Alhamdulillah worth the experience of touching and learning variety types of Allahs creations.

Adopt a Pupa. Such a great experience for the first time. Do your adoption .... will be a wonderful bonding time with your children.

A place worth a visit with the kids. Affordable ticket price, every area staffed with friendly souls, they will be more than happy to show and explain each exhibits to youThe place is properly shaded, you shall not feel too hot when visiting.You will definitely need mosquito repellant though at most of the areas there. An electric fly swatter would be a good weapon of choice, just make sure you dont use it on the butterflies there

Really a interesting place, like a mini zoo. Had a wonderful time at here, worth the ticket price.

Very interesting place to find rare species of insects and reptile, it is very fun to find those camouflage insects.You can see the butterfly, and if u are lucky they may land in your hand.You can pet the big orange skink ( his name is danishunder staff supervision. He is known as the artist of premises, he is now 12 years old, different petting can give u different surprises 😉.The white bird age in the photo is 38 yrs old when this photo was taken ! The bird also is petting friendly and u may get different surprises !If u love spider, make sure to turn on the light to find where they hide on each panel ! I almost missed it hahah.Very interesting place for kids and insects lover.Find the weird snake with hands !The price is flat rate 22 rm for local and expact adults.

the place is well maintained, good variety of insect and reptiles (though i wish theres more butterfly colors), and well motivated staff. worth the RM22 per person charge.

Amazingly well maintained farm with variety of exotic animals and insects not seen in other mini zoos. Interacting with hundreds of butterflies is an awesome experience. There is also a section where visitors are able to walk into with tens of mangrove snakes without barrier. The animals are well taken care of and cages are very clean. The farm is well shaded and comfortable even during hot weather. The management also provides lots of hand sanitizers around the farm. This place is certainly worth a visit in Malacca.

Definitely worth a visit. Great place for kids. My 4 years old son was so excited. Especially enjoyed tortoises feeding. Very well maintained, friendly and educated workers. Animals are in good condition. Can spend here 3 hours. Recommend!

Nice place and not crowded as others , but not practical to baby strollers.

We enjoyed this sanctuary thoroughly and or was one of the highlights of visiting Malacca and Im 40. I preferred the smaller butterfly enclosures here more than Penangs Entopia and KLs Butterfly Park as theres more chance of multiple butterflies landing on you regardless if you wear bright colours. Lots of critters to see and a few you can touch.Cheap entry price compared to Entopia.

Half day visiting, some attractions, smelly at bird area and butterfly species no much. Maintainean still quite ok. Price for adult Malaysian is 22 per person. Er... for me feel a bit costly, at least got family package loh.

excellent varieties of birds, butterflies, reptiles, koi fishes. Brown, white alligators. great ambience and good for 2 to 3 hrs
