Meisei - Japanese restaurant in Manama, Bahrain
🍽Food: 5/5🤵🏽♂️Service: 5/5🪑Ambiance: 4/5 (Not the best area in Adliya)Notes: Meisei have great food, and I love that they have a nice vibe inside the restaurant, there’s a bar there’s dancing and I defiantly had a great time. My two favorite meals were the Crispy Duck Salad and the Tuna Tataki 😋
Stupid restaurants Be careful from price in The menu price and they charge your other price also very noisy , 10 % vat 10 % service 5% they don’t know for what ???
One of the best japanese places in Bahrain in addition to hosting one of the very nice salsa nights every Wednesday..
Cousy place and the food is delicious, the food is made by an expert chef, price wise it’s in regular rangeHighly recommend 👍🏽
Meisei is a contemporary Japanese restaurant, with beautiful modern and stylish dine-in layout. What a relaxing atmosphere to spend time with loved ones.Conveniently not only they serve Japanese cuisine but they also serve authentic Italian dishes like no one else that is overseen by Master Chef Fabrizio, who was so friendly and gave us a tour in the kitchen. We also experienced the preparation of our mushroom pizza from the scratch, which was amazing. We started our Italian cuisine with the fresh Chef salad followed by the outstanding mushroom pizza that we prepared. One of the best pizzas I have ever had!! Even better than the ones I had in Italy Rome!!Soon after, the starters kept flowing and each dish was an art rather than a meal. A picture is better than a thousand word. All of the main courses we had were heavenly tasty and super delicious. My heartily complements to Chef Fabrizio for his hospitality and his beautiful Italian English accent 😊
Located in Adliya, Meisei is one of the few Japanese restaurants in Bahrain that is up to the standards. The place is huge with a great atmosphere, it’s quiet with great designs. It’s nice to go there for a date or a group. My favorite dish is the Japanese pizza and their red velvet cake is a much try.The staff is friendly and professional.Note: there is smoking and none smoking areas.
Food is good and its a nice place
The classiest and most stylish terrace in town. It makes a difference with Japanese and Italian cuisine.
One of my favourite places but it is a tad expensive
I came with group of friends only to find out that they stopped the salsa night since the beginning of pandemic till this day and they couldnt be bothered updating their website, I even tried to call them before heading over but their phone took me straight to their voice mail. Not professional at all.
Meisei was a fancy Japan ice Asian cuisine and to be honest with you it was my ever first Japanice restaurant and I can tell you that, service was exceptional glasses were never empty always on top of the top up with wine and the water, would definetely recommend it!
In short, the food portion was too less compared to the price but tasted good. Music and ambience was great.
Not bad but not my favorite place to go to.
The food was okay but everything took forever to be prepared. For dessert, I would only recommend the red velvet. The other desserts aren’t the best. All in all, the service was good and it a nice place for dinner.
Do NOT reserve a table here! DONT! Very expensive for tasteless food and untrained staff. The place isnt 5star or close to it. The only pro they have is the parking. And look at the reviews they are all fake who gave the 5star. #TearThisRestaurantDown
The menu had a diverse selection and variety, I personally did not try the non-virgin drinks but they had quite an impressive list. The dam dam soba noodles on the seasonal menu were a 10/10, along with sultan lobster and the “outrageous” maki rolls kim bap. The staff was super friendly and the ambiance was exceptional.Price wise, I do think that it was overpriced in regards to the portion size, however it could be a potential spot for special occasions or celebrations in the town. I don’t think I will be going back as there are many similar restaurants with the same set cuisine that are budget and pocket friendly.Overall, a solid 7/10
Booked table for my wifes birthday, asked about flowers cake whatever, they said can do cake.Confirmed booking, again mentioned birthday..As we entered restaurant I was asked what to add to cake as message.Alas,no cake,no suprise.Guess what we were only guests in the whole restaurant!Food average, management very poor.Wont be going back, thanks Meisei for spoiling our night.Hire some professional staff.
It was frustrating to know they have gluten free options but the chef doesnt want to make anything from scratch. So after I asked the waiter for gluten free options and they said they didnt have any I asked for the manager as Ive been there before and was given a gluten free menu after insisting they brought out the gluten free menu and then it did take the chef along time which I dont mind but I didnt appreciate the laziness.
I don’t recommend anyone to waste their time at this place. It’s surprising that although I was asked to pay a significant minimum charge but also I was disrespected by the DJ for no reason. The place is overpriced and the quality, furniture and facilities are way way too embarrassing to qualify this place to be a fine dining or even a respectful lounge to have fun in, with their insane prices and pathetic quality. Just avoid and safe your money and enjoy your time at a class and elegant place.
The place was empty and we were great by a woman who immediately asks if we will be spending more than 25 BD. Who asks a customer this? Very rude hostess. The place is empty and you lost a customer who would have dropped 50bd easily. It is ok when I go home to Miami I will spend money on better Japanese food and better seafood anyways. These people need to remember where they are. This is not Dubai and hardly a class environment.

It was amazing..the atmosphere the food hospitality every thing is soo good I love it.. definitely I will come back best shef in the town..
Ordered food during lock down. The baby chicken and Peking duck slider were average. The Korean chicken tikka and prawn dumpling were very good. Surely not worth BD 50 !
Such a lovely experience! The staff was perfectly attentive and the food was creatively prepared with wonderful depth of flavor! Sake very pricey at bd14 for small karafe (guess we should have asked how much first). .. Otherwise. .. big thumbs up!
Visit on 14 February 2019. Great atmosphere and Live music. Food was a set menu of asian food such as sushi.
First time trying it, loved it so much. Beautiful interiors, very chilled out vibes and the perfect music selection. The lounge area is very cool if you just want to hang out. They have two dinning areas, smoking and non smoking. Plus they got a rooftop terrace that is open during the winter months. The food was delicious, the Maki rolls were so fresh, probably the best sushi in Bahrain in my opinion.
I asked Wagyu they bring me this undefined miced meat. Told them bloody, they bring whell cooked.Without consider that should be a full piece of meat not this hamburger, they serve the wine already in the glass, instead bring the bottle at the table and show me ( it can be anykind of wineand it was HOT as well.Really cheap food. Nice place, nice atmosphere but really CHEAP SERVICE AND FOOD QUALITY.Never go again
Lovely night club and restaurant to visit with friends. Salsa music and dance steps. With guidance. Good food and drinks. Great service.
Everything is okay, except the bald security guard at the entrance... And today i had enough of him, the 1st incidence happend with him few months ago, when me and my brother came there, my brother went to get his phone from the car and when he came back the bald guy didnt let him come inside again, he said after 1:00AM nobody can come. So i went to talk to him but he didnt even listen and the funny thing was people were still coming inside and we had a table as well, so left from there upset. 2nd incidence was 2 months ago i came there and he didnt let me come in, because i was wearing distressed jeans, so i had to go all the way back to my home to change. And 3rd incidence was today only, he didnt let me come in saying im wear a cotton jeans like seriously? enough is enough! All jeans are made out of cotton, i asked that i wanna talk to the manager he said theres no manager in a rudely way, so i left from there and right on the coner there were 2 guys who told me he didnt let them also in saying that its couples only... Ive seen people wearing shorts at meisei and he lets them just because theyre europeans... Ive had enough with this nonsense, he thinks that hes the boss, otherwise all the other security guards are nice... So from now on i wont be going to meisei, there are many other better lounges and bars in the area.
Incredible meal and great atmosphere. Perfect spot for a date and some elegant Asian Cuisine. Highly enjoyed the Wagu tacos and the sushi rolls. Ill definitely be returning!
The food was excellent. The entrees and the appetizers are quite sizable and very easily shareable.Pricing is expensive and the atmosphere is good. We went on a Wednesday night and so it was very quiet. We ordered the the angus beef slider bao, the vegetable tempura, the lobster roll. All very tasty!
I consider this place one of the best sushi place in Bahrain, but today the food was nothing special. Tempura was not light at all, and sometimes not cooked. Maki were nice but nothing really extraordinary, two beer and the bill was crazy. Still recommended for the roof top but not really for dinner.
Great place for food music and Ambiance
This place deserves five stars. We went for a loved ones birthday. The maki was fresh. Excellent grilled chicken skewers and pulled beef bao. We got complimentary cake, a drink which the tender mixed at our table, and a small gift.Thank you to our server Michelle for her professionalism and courteousness.Overall: refreshing, pleasant experience and certainly recommended. The only downside is that it will leave a big dent in your budget!
Salsa Nights on Wednesdays is must Go. Staff is friendly, attentive and courteous. The music and the ambience is Great. Havent explored much of there food yet but the Cocktails are amazing.
The food is taste good and authentic japanese food, excellent service...I will visit again..
Best Japanese restaurant in Bahrain. Its like having Nobu in Los Angeles and Roka in London. The duck as a main dish is amazing and the portion is great for party of 5. They also have great starters like salads ( duck is what I recommendand also other things. Sushi is also amazing (Mei is what I recommend). I tried different dishes every time I come here and I come here like every 4 months and this restaurant never disappointed me. So yes this is what I recommend you have in Bahrain as it is my favourite restaurant.
Excellent. People could not do.more to please.
Delicious food, great waiters service, place with its climate. Salsa nights on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The rooftop setting is nice during December weather and that was about it. Everything else was bad. For the price tag they ask, one expect the best of everything. Seafood was far from fresh and smelly. Taste was sub par in all dishes we ordered. Beef taco i could not believe it was wagyu as it super dry and tasteless. Fish yakitori had no jalapeno taste it claims it has. Even the presentation was really far from a fine dining expriance. A complete scam of a business. Never going again.
Fine restaurant with romantic atmosphere, Wednesday the fire burns high with Salsa nights
Place has potential- full transparency: this review has to do with rooftop bar. Waiters and staff seem clueless about how to make basic cocktails and have poor knowledge of their selection. I asked for a basic martini and was told they couldn’t make it save they would charge me extra to make it with Tanquerey because on their menu, the only martinis they have are the 1990s -era appletinis and chocotinis. Complete failure. Cool venue and good DJ but was astonished they couldn’t make a staple of any bartender’s repertoire
Its a nice place but with not so great food . Some dishes yes and some no but overall too expensive to justify. The place must have been great one day but it feels rather cheap now .
Nice place! decent food with a nice drinks menu. The staff is friendly. They have free dance classes at the rooftop on some days. Definitely worth a visit then!
Went for the Salsa class & evening on the roof terrace. Too busy talking with friends & missed the class. Still joined in with the dancing as everyone mingled. Great atmosphere. Didnt have any food.
How not to love this place? All courses were outstanding. So tasty. Extremely friendly staff. The chef came to our table, introduced himself and even offered us a complimentary desert. It is a must in Barhain!
Food is nice and innovative and the terrace is very nice when the weather is good. Not sure what their deal is, but when we asked for a table at 8:30, they told us that no table was available, although even at 10, more than half of the tables were still empty.
Food is extremely innovative and truly unique for Bahrain. Good selection of Asian cuisine, far from the typical, boring options. I personally recommend staying for desserts, theyre very interesting and taste amazing. Wait staff are also polite and warm. Possibly Adliyas most underrated restaurant.
Hit and miss sometimes. Place is way too huge and I have never seen it even half full. When Chef Micheal is there its all smooth sailing but when hes not, its usually not as good. Worth going to but cant help feeling that it wont survive for long.
Ifyoure into Japanese-fusion cuisine and want to shake your booty its the perfect place for a fun night out with friends . Prepare yourself for a culinary adventure unlike anything else. An all-around great dining experience and happy vibes every time. The food never disappoints and the atmosphere is electrifying. Chef Michael is always keen to whip up something special when requested.Save the best for last and enjoy your dessert at the rooftop bar, while listening to cool tunes and take in the calming views.Even on a short visit to Bahrain, Meisei is an absolute must.
