Meehambee Dolmen - Historical landmark in Ros Comain, Ireland
Meehambee Dolmen in Ros Comain
Description
Privilege
It was a 20 min walk in the forest, I didnt get to see any new birds or animals. Just saw the garlic plants and a small tributary.Car parking for just two cars and tough to drive for low clearance cars.
MoreCool place to see. Spoke with a heritage group member at a different place and he gave me a ton of information and history on different historical areas nearby. Wish I knew a little more history on these kind of tombs and historical items so Ill definitely need to do some research! Theres a nice walking trail that goes straight to the tomb and beyond the tomb that lets you appreciate nature
MoreExcellent spot to visit, giant lobby tomb
Fajna atrakcja na spacer, okolica ładna ale sam grobowiec i jego okolica pogrodzone drutami
MoreBeautiful, tranquil, fascinating ...well worth the trip
Hidden gem, its abit difficult to find as its well hidden away. Has some interesting information on site. Some new signs would be great as the current ones are near impossible to read due to weathering.
MoreLovely place to take a stroll. There is space for one or two cars at most to park at entrance to the pathway. You may want to park up on the main road and walk the rest of the way. Its very scenic so definitely worth it. Make sure you carry on past the Dolmen so as to end up at the river. Lovely spot.
MoreLittle nature path close to Athlone. The sheep in the pasture look like they were out of a watercolor painting. Parking was a bit lacking but that was all part of the appeal!
MoreLovely pleasant walk and very interesting spot well worth a visit
Jest ok
Permet de se détendre entre 2 grandes villes
powiem szczerze ze przeoczylismy dolmena , doszlismy do kona sciezki i gdy wracalismy to go zauwazlismy :bardzo waska droga zeby dojechac
MoreThe dolmen is estimated to date back to 3500 BC. Worth reading all the information about the dolmen its history and the local fauna and flora. The 30 minute walk from the main road is pleasant but be careful with passing cars as its quite narrow. The woods are so atmospheric, the landscape is truly dreamy and its always good to learn something new. This is a hidden gem that is worth discovering.
MoreReally beautiful place to visit. Theres such a lovely energy as you walk the short distance to the end whilst you get whiffs of wild garlic along the way. This place is steeped in history and remains untouched. Lovely signage along the way also!
MoreGreat
Nice place
The Dolmen well worth a visit.
Beautiful site although clearly there is more to preserve. This is a fantastic site and an easy way to get lost and explore
MoreLe chemin donnant accès au Dolmen vaut le détour. 15mn de marche
Down a typically narrow and winding road, you may finding yourself asking if you are pulling up someones private drive. However, do not fret, stay true. This glorious glen awaits you.
MoreDolmen au bout dun chemin de sous bois magnifique et mystérieux. Par contre arriver en voiture jusque là est très épique : se croiser relève du défi !
MoreSuch a peaceful spot! Enchanted and some evidence of a settlement makes for great imagination of times past. I get there as often as I can, lucky to live locally. Well worth a visit!
MoreAmazing
Interesting place, but its very small, 30 min. max.
Nice
Ok
Such a magical place, x
A lovely gem of Irish history. Walking up the bridal path was magical
Was going to Glendeer Pet Farm and came across signs to this dolmen, so took a detour. The bridal path is a nice walkway, the wild garlic flowers and aroma add a mystical quality. The dolmen is collapsed somewhat, and is behind wire along the path. For those interested in Irish megaliths, well worth a visit
MoreCame upon this by accident. Beautiful walk, smell of wild garlic amazing, unspoilt area
MoreLove the signage along the way
Well worth a visit
Good means to pass an hour or so. This location is only partly preserved as there is clearly more of the ancient walk beside this. Very historically rich area, unfortunately not all of it is preserved
MoreInteresting spot. The real burren
Undisturbed unspoilt Drum heritage group pinpointed the location.
Very interesting, amazing and mysterious place
Rent a bike and take a hike to this marvelous eery place.
Nice quant walk to the dolmen very peaceful
