Very attractive

Its the church located in Bole. One if the oldest and nicest orthodox churches in the city. Quite place in a very crowded and loud area of the city. Never expected it to be quite cause of its location.

Been watching this lovely place go backwards and backwards over the last years. Overgrown gardens, lots of rubbish, vagrants, dirty, poor maintenance...However, still worth your while to go and see...

Beautiflul Cathedral in Addis.

It is one of well known orthodox church located in the capital city.

It such a magnificent cathedral. located in central District of Addis Ababa. I will advise all tourist not miss visiting the church.There is a lot to see.

Large parking space. I love to go to this church for everyday prayer.

Clean and pretty.The security guards sometimes hassle foreigners when youre taking photos. Its irritating because I saw locals taking photos and they didnt say anything to the them.There are also pick pockets right outside the cathedral so be careful... They usually stand in a group. One guy will point at a magazine on one side of you pretending like hes trying to sell you something while another guy will grab your arm on the other side. When you turn toward the guy grabbing your arm, the guy on the other side will grab something from your pocket and slip it in his magazine. Its a very common trick the pick pockets use in Ethiopia...The other thing they sometimes do is spit on you, pretend it was by accident, tell you not to touch it because they have TB, help you clean it up with water, and then empty your pockets while theyre doing that.

It’s big! Massive and beautiful cathedral on large grounds located in Bole. It’s one of the few places you don’t feel weird taking lots of pictures as there are foreigners and Ethiopians alike posing for photos. A breath of fresh air amid a busy and crowded city.

Its one of the best architecturally designed and spaciously built which can be a pearl in both spritually n esthetically in the hub of Africa. Everyone needs to vistit n share experience of this huge cathedral.

Was great seeing all the artifacts. Enjoyed listening tot the tour guide describe to us the history of everyone who was buried at the memorial grounds.

It is a very spiritual place, its not an old bulding but its very beautiful specially inside. There is a program every morning, its even bigger program on sunday morning, it get very crowded especially for people with cars. Please be careful with your purse because not all people are there to enjoy the spiritually and the beauty of the place. But other than that ethiopian people are very friendly and the nicest people you could ever find. So have fun and be safe

Walk around the cathedral to unwind. Locals sleep on the cathedral parks grass and in the garden. Expect begging and pickpockets on the premises. Addis traffic will overwhelm you after you exit.

Medhane alem is an ethiopian orthodox tewahido church. And one of the best recognized modern architectures in the country. from the religion aspect they have the best scholars on the church. The sunday school is great. I got a chance to attend a sermon called Nicodemus where i always admire the deep understanding of orthodox Christianity.

Beautiful place to walk around in the evening. Many people go in for prayer and mass.

A nice cultural experience of orthodox Christianity in Ethiopia.

It’s beautiful inside and out side, also considered as the largest church in Ethiopia.

The cathedral itself looks good but the surrounding gate around the compound is filthy, and there are pickpockets all over the area. You wouldnt believe me, but i witnessed a "lady" pull down her pants, and for lack of a better term... poop on the sidewalk right next to one of the gates 🤮💩😷 There is garbage all around the place and the amount of homeless beggers is saddening being that it looks like the cathedral has money. This area is 100% not safe at night, there are no lights and countless people sleeping all around the compound. Something wrong is going on here and they need to fix it.

I was surprised as a tourist information have to pay to enter into a church! !even Rome has beautiful churches and they dont pay mexico too
