Pretty nice yard. Other than that not much to see. I do’t think you can get to the second floor. Entry ticket is 20MAD.

The most important medersa in Fez, it was built in 1350 to 1355 J-C by the Merinid sultan Abou Inan is the most famous of all the Merinid madrasas of Fez and Morocco. In addition to its role as a college of education and accommodation for students, it was to fulfill the function of a Friday mosque. It also has a beautifully proportioned minaret and a hydraulic clock (maganawhose operating system is still unknown to us. This Islamic university is a treasure of Merinid art. Its architecture is superb and the details very elegant. The walls covered with mosaics and carved plaster are to be seen. Bou_Inania_Madrasa The medersa was located in the city, in a district making the junction between the old city and the new Merinid constructions. The general plan is irregular, due to the location, but a certain symmetry is respected. The main entrance leads to a large central courtyard, onto which open two smaller halls, used for courtyards, and surmounted by wooden domes. This plan recalls the plans with two iwans, born in Iran and used in a contemporary way in Mamluk Egypt. Bou_Inania_Madrasa2 At the bottom of the courtyard, there is a prayer room made up of two naves parallel to the qibla. It has a single mirhab, which projects into the wall, and four onyx columns. This room is covered with two wooden vaults.

Its very nice and beautiful! However, its just one bit... Like, theres nothing else. Its very nice though, and worth the 20 dirham entry fee just to get a break from the medina.

Easy to find with Google maps. Entry price is fair. The plaster work and woodwork inside is just fabulous. Very unique and beautiful.

One open space. If your only in Fez than maybe you should see it if you go to any other city in Marocco, then you will regret paying the entrance fee here. Especially because it has the same price than lots of much cooler things.

Best in old City

A little old, but pretty. If you plan to go to Marrakech, can select one of them to visit.

My favorite place to visit in Fez. Non-Muslims may enter, but not to the Mosque area. Enjoy the space!

The Madrasa Bou Inania (also Bu Inaniya, المدرسة أبو عنانية بفاس al-madrasa ʾAbū ʿInānīya bi-Fāsis a madrasa in Fes, Morocco, founded in AD 1350–56 by Abu Inan Faris. It is widely acknowledged as a high point of Marinid architecture and of historic Moroccan architecture generally.

Beautiful Madrasa, entrance via past the rainbow street. Quite a quick visit though, not much areas to explore. Need to pay entrance fee. Closes by evening.

Wonderful seminary.It is not possible to visit the old mosque, but it is understandable considering the small size of the place and the high number of tourists.

BouInanian Madrasa and MasjedIs a typical famous Islamic monument, it has a feature "water clock" I dont know more about it.But I enjoyed the architecture of Madrasa, and using of mosaic with stone and wood.Tickect is for 20 Darhim (2 eurosand 15 Darhim for group.Enjoy!

Spectacularly beautiful building, even if it is only restricted access. A must-see, as the architecture is stunning. I am so glad we went in - although please bear in mind, you are only paying to enter the courtyard and have a quick look around.

Simply stunning madrasa in Fes, which should be on your list of things to see! As previously mentioned, its rare to go inside a religious building for non-Muslims in Morocco, so enjoy the experience!

Beautiful and breathtaking. Not many places are open to non muslims and this one is only 20 dirham (come on people, that’s only 2€!!!). Try to go with a guide so he can explain everything. I’ll go again just to take as much pictures as I can. It’s soooooo worth it.

You visit one mederssa or another. Quite the same. Dont pay more than one time. Save your buck honestly

It opens at 9 am, but the door was closed when we arrived. We followed a lady who nocked on door to get in, and got charged 20 Dh for each.10 minutes are enough to visit this place, since the square is the only thing open to the public.The atmosphere was great, though.

Absolutely stunning and gorgeous. I could look at the carved woodwork all day.Cost us 20 dirham each to enter. When you leave the courtyard, the lady will tell you to go right down a hallway. Dont be disappointed. Theres nothing there.

There are very few places in Fes open to non Muslims. Fortunately, this one is a gem.

Amazing place worth of visit, 20dirham the entry

For 20 dirhams (practically nothingyou get access to a beautiful slice of Moroccan history - an ornately decorated building with outstanding geometric design and patterns. It also gives you a bit of peace and quiet from the busy streets just outside the main entrance.

As part of walking through the medina, you will get to visit a number of landmarks and this former Islamic school is one of them. The structure is quite amazing. Entry fee was around 20dh. Good for 40-45 mins visit.

Unique architecture, will very nice detail

It was a bit difficult to find from google map. The entrance for tourists faces the rue talaa kebira. You have to walk down a bit from Chinese restaurant.

This is a 13th century residential school. First of all youre charged 20MAD to enter. Inside there is a big courtyard where you can appreciate the handmade work done centuries ago on stone and wood which decorate the walls and floor. Youre also allowed to wander around the place and into the upper floors where you can see the ancient miniscule student rooms. All around the place you can appreciate the art and craftsmanship put into all the details on wood and stone from the floor to the ceilings. Worth a visit if youre the kind who appreciates this architecture and culture.

Oldest moroccan islamic school created by el Sultan Abou Inan Al Merini King of thé Merinides Dinasty bêtween 1350 and 1355. Its thé only old school in thé old Medina with à Minerat.

If youre in Fez and look for great places to visit , this school is a great one , it represents what the old medina of fez is all about and says a lot about Moroccan architecture.

Its a beautiful place. The ornaments are spectacular. It is definitely one of the places you should visit in Fes.

Delicate design that worth visiting. The entrance is close to the Clock Café on the map. The gate closes when the prayer is ongoing, but will open once the prayers finished.

A local Tourist guide took us there, the architecture is beautiful, its a must see place when youre in Fez. I was especially amazed by the huge handcarved wooden doors, which have parts replaced by plain wood pieces. According to our guide: nodoby knows that particular technique anymore so they couldnt repair the doors.

I guess it is about a ten minute visit, but worthwhile if you are not able to enter any of the citys mosques. More worthwhile, though, if you read a bit about it ahead of time.

Maybe a bit expensive for 20dh but still a very baeutiful site. Entry is allowed for non Muslims unlike mosques. A great example pf Moroccan architecture and a quick tour.

Beautiful. Very interesting history (it helps to go with a guide). Since non-Muslims cant visit Mosques in Morocco the Medersas are one of the best ways to experience the artistry of the country.

Opens 9:00, 10 Dh per person. Nice court yard with decorated surrounding buildings.
