Rue Ash al Shaiara, Salé, Morocco, Dakhla
Medersa - Museum in Dakhla, Morocco
Outstanding
Très beau, a voir
Incredible place with no tourists!
Disappointing and not worth the money (60 Dirham per person). There is not much to see and the personnel did not guide as (what we expected with regard to the high entrance feeor provide any information. There are two Levels in the building, looking exactly the same. This basically is a small entrance hall and small simple floors with small equally looking chambers without any interior. No signs, no explanations. Weve been gone after 2 Minutes.
One the finest example of the Moorish architecture. Recommended with a licensed guide.
Are you crazy or what? 60 dirham, what a joke. Apparently even the locals think the new price is too high. Just because we are tourists/foreigners it doesnt mean we have to be milked!!!
Small médersa but exquisitely detailed with a live fountain. The lady in charge of the place took time to explain one of the main calligraphies describing how taxes were levied on local merchants to pay for running the school. This place and the interesting markets nearby make a trip to Salé worth it.
Great historical site, a wonderful piece of architecture with so many details everywhere, usually its empty theres no tourists so you can take pictures and explore the whole site with no distractions
Très beau monument a visiter
The Merinid Madrasa of Salé, also known as Madrasa Talâa (former Palace of Banou Acharais one of the most famous schools built by Sultan Abou Al Hasan Al Marini in 1341. With an area of 180 m2, considered to be a architectural masterpiece because of its exquisite architecture and the beauty of its decorations, it played a cultural, educational and political role at the time and served to restore religious education and science. The teaching covered all Islamic disciplines (Quran, hadith, law, doctrine, etc.as well as sciences such as grammar, logic, rhetoric, astronomy, calculation. The medersa offered students from elsewhere, a kind of scholarship for living and clothing, in addition to the cottage.
Not for beginners, expérience réservée aux amateurs de chiostri, well, dont go there if you are not relaxed, attendez le bon moment pour y aller, capito , a 14th century medersa, مدرسة الطالعة المرينية، médersa mérinide "a-talâa", قرب المسجد الكبير الموحدي، sultano Abi Al-Hassan, enseignait القرآن dans la version arabe du prospectus mais seulement médecine math philo astronomie et "..." dans la version française du prospectus... the word in Arabic is Koran ... gli altri sopra sono il nome della moschea a canto.
Rare Medersa visitable au Maroc. Ici se formèrent les érudits
A MUST VISIT HISTORICAL PLACE.WELL RESTORED TO ITS BEAUTIFUL HIGH DAYS.ANYBODY WILL ENJOY BEING THERE.BLESSINGS ET BARAKATS 🔥🌷😎
good
Beautiful but no I am not paying 60 Dirhams to enter this gorgeous small space
Its near me and its amazing place
Wonderful sample of mediaval architecture and mural design
Amazing little gem in the heart of the medina, a little challenge to find the place, but it makes it even more interesting. Due to a quite recent renovation is in really good shape. Beautiful walls and interior. Wort to visit. Entry fee is 60dh
Very nice place, a bit pricey for a family of 5 at 60 dirhams per person, considering the size of the place. Regardless, it was the smallest university in Morocco and presents elements of Arabic, Andalusian and Berber architecture with Jewish elements as there were jewish builders helping long time ago. It ran until the 1940s and was shut down with most other institutions as a result of the revolution against the French. There are several floors of rooms that were chambers for the students. The lower room with the fountain was the teaching room where everyone would be sat on the floor to receive their lessons in psychology, astronomy, mathematics and many more subjects. The prayer room can be found in the back. It is hard to imagine this building is over 700 years old. The one star off is because one the guides went rogue on us and decided to show us Salé for a little something. This wasnt appropriate behaviour considering we paid enough for the entrance but then again, we did learn a thing or two for next time. Whenever someone suggests to go out of the museum, kindly decline and move on.
Avoid it! It’s 60 dirhams and it’s too small and not special. You can find other Medersas in Fes, way more beautiful, for 20 dirhams.
Nice but the high ticketprice of 60 is too much for something like this, in Fes there are better onces for 20
Some beautiful stone carvings but definitely not worth the extortionate 60 Dirham (EUR 5entrance fee.
Beautiful medersa, used until the 19th century. The ground floor is amazing with the columns and walls with the characteristic tiles. We were the only tourists the day of our visit (last days of December), it looked like Rabat and Salé are not on the tourist routes which is undeserved because there are many beautiful things to see in this area.
Great place to visit. The mosque is closed to non-Muslim but Medersa can be visited. It’s open as museum. It’s well-preserved.
