My granddaughter loved the Teddy treasure hunt.
Very interesting visit small but perfect diversion on a wet day
Great experience for children and adults museum is spotless staff very friendly
Very interesting and varied, especially for the Clyde area, and a pleasure to walk around (very spacious)All for no cost
Interesting to see the information about James Watt, John Gault and others. Also videos, paintings about shipbuilding in Greenock and the Clyde. Great that theres also no charge. On the mezzanine and upper floor these exhibits cant be accessed by those in a wheelchair or those less mobile. There is a lift to take you to the art gallery which is on an upper level though. In our visit, 2 out of 3 couldnt access the upper levels which was disappointing so they couldnt see the stuffed animals or exhibits from further afield.
Took pictures of my dad with the town drum when he renovated it his name is James Kitchen in to the museum
We thoroughly enjoyed the time we were there. I was particularly interested in the information about John G Kincaid as worked there in the 80s. Very nostalgic!
My husband had worked in Greenock 30 years ago so we found it very interesting . Lovely building.
Wonderful wee museum and gallery. Real local museum feel, good stories. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
They have a couple of Dorothy Steel paintings that are wonderful and the staff are really friendly and helpful
Amazing and free!!
Having been closed for several years for renovations, I was delighted to see that the exact same exhibits were on display when visiting with my children recently. The sloth bear, with mange, the model ships, the Egyptian artifacts, it was like revisiting my own childhood! The museum would benefit from more focus on Greenocks historical industrial impact. A cafe would also be nice. It is free though, and absolutely worth a visit every few months.
If you visit Greenock well worth a visit. Interesting exhibitions . Staff were more than help and very Covid safe. Thank you Noel for being so informative
Interesting facts about the area
On my door step and never been there before. What a place so interesting and great for the kids. I will be going back soon
Brilliant. First class.
Went with grandweans, endless questions. All starting. In the old days.....
Beautiful museum with great collections, well worth a visit.
Great since refurbishment
Excellent place to spend an hour, you cant see it all so you go back and back to see what you missed, brought some books today and was really lucky as both authors are local and were at the building when I visited and I got all the books signed, very pleased , the staff were excellent, and so helpful, i shall he back in a couple of weeks, to secure another book; Belville Bubbles and will take a walk around again, 10/10 worth the visit
Enjoyed visit with mum. Staff very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit. The building is full of character and the architecture is stunning.
Pretty decent for Greenock!
Looks beautiful now that it has been refurbished. Staff so friendly and helpful as usual and they had a wee bear hunt for the kids. Kids enjoyed their visit . Thank you!
The fact is that it was closed for 3 years & I missed going there, but now that it has opened I can pop in & havea look around, also I was in on the 14 of March & it was very impressive, so much so I will be back in the near future .
Def go back
Small lovely museum
Extremely interesting for local & global cultural history. Currently closed for renovation.
Hasnt changed much since i was a kid, but my 2 children (6&9had a great afternoon here, and we parents enjoyed it too!
very interesting
It is fantastic museum, great for who want to get am idea about the Greenock history. For the tourists also can enjoy the Clyde river view, it is few minutest far from the museum.
Great place for both locals learning about the areas vast history and tourists who wish to see how the Greenock came to be. Additionally the staff are very helpful if you have specific questions about the history of Greenock. I would recommend this to anyone looking to find out historical information about both Greenock and Inverclyde.
There is a lot to see, the staff are so helpful, I got married in there gardens as well and the staff helped out with that as well.
