McHugh's Bar - Bar in Sionainn, Ireland
Lovely food, great beer 🍻..even outside 😁..You need to be to fast its closing soon.. 6th of March 2022
Great atmosphere and fantastic craft beer. Such a shame its closing in March 2022.
Gorgeous cocktails you almost feel bad drinking them because youre ruining the look of them and good choice of vegan and vegetarian options that arent just a sad salad or soup
Fantastic food very friendly staff, will be back for sure
Sat outside, for a quick mineral as we had been walking for ages. It was €6 for a 200ml 7up and 200ml coke. I thought that was a crazy price, I dont even want to imagine what an alcoholic drink costs. But it seemed a lovely venue and the staff were lovely & friendly.
Nice clean bar which serves food. Cozy atmosphere friendly helpful service what more could you ask for
Beautiful low ceilinged yellow bar great tunes.great Guinness great craic altogether
Such a cozy place to have a nice pint and something to snack on, staff are very friendly and Everytime I go there Ive always loved it.
Really interesting and different menu.Almost like Tapas. Very tasty. One of the nicest places to eat in Ennis.
Beautiful Bar, lovely staff, great atsomphere, spotless clean
What a lovely pub n great food had a great night with lovely staff chicken wings to die for
Gorgeous food, great cocktails & fantastic service
Have been phoning McHugh’s for over a wk now to make a reservation. No sure if they are taking reservations, but should answer the phone and let people know either way.
Service was great, but unfortunately food wasnt at its best. Ordered squid and it was dry and overcooked.Great place for a drinks, good service and atmosphere
4 of us went out for food. It was excellent and great price. Staff are dead sound well worth a visit
Disappointing:Thank you Maeve for your kind reply. I fully understand how things can and do go wrong. My wife and I are very strong believers in supporting local businesses, from the local butcher, fruit and veg, the "corner shop" and of course restaurants and pubs.We booked on the strong recommendation of a few friends of ours. We will be back, based on your explanation of events on the night.Kind regards.Ger
Food was very good. Staff were very professional. Good pub.
Great food, great selection of IPAs from their local brewery Western HerdVery friendly staff.
Different to what we would normally go for which is why we loved it. The tapas and the tacos, sliders and nachos were very very tasty. Waiting on my chocolate fondant ( cant wait ). Staff are very friendly
Not great value nor traditional tapas, calamari undercooked, tasted of flour, sliders good, however up the quality or drop the prices.. service great... Lovely staff.
Great food and drink. Very friendly staff
Decent beer, quiet music, friendly staff, and great food.
Great atmosphere and food, the staff looked after us so well. Fabulous evening.
I honestly did not know what to expect. I was worried about having tapas in Ireland after many visits to Spain. However, I can report that I should not have been one bit doubtful after what I can only say was an excellent spread. It is not typical Spanish cuisine but a take on it that I loved. There was a good selection and I loved the pork tacos. Chicken wings were small but plentiful and tasty. We also had nachos, vegetarian and beef and a very good sized portion. They vanished! Finally we had the beef, chicken and pork sliders. They were excellent. The pork won out for me! McHughs is a fine bar with a large whiskey selection. Cocktails are also on the menu. My only negative comment, and this is a personal opinion like the rest of the review, is that I found it extremely warm in the premises. Other than that I will say that I will definitely be going back again.
Great spot for local craft beer in Ireland. Very friendly bartenders to steer you toward what you like. Must visit if in town and looking for a pub.
Beautiful decorated Bar with really good food. I had the black pudding tapas and sweet potato fries and can easily recommend it.The sweet potato fries were crunchy and perfectly fried while the black pudding tapas were just delicious.
Delighted they brought back done vegan options. The Blue Jumper IPA is delicious. Service is friendly and professional.
Really great food and craft beer. The place was hopping after work on Friday night last. Staff very friendly and efficient. Can’t recommend this pub, brewery and food enough. We all had a great night. Must visit when in Ennis, Co Clare, Ireland.
Friendly, cozy atmosphere, lovely open fire on a rainy evening. Food was good, nice menu, a little on the pricier side, good selection of beers ,spirits etc
Lovely trio of sliders and rustic chips 👍
A nice little pub at the bottom of parnell Street. The atmosphere was very welcoming as was the bar staff. Drink was very strong. Ill have to be more moderate next time
We always enjoy a night here. Good food and drink. Bar staff and owners so friendly and helpful. Nothing a problem or fuss.
My favourite bar in town in terms of comfort, service and atmosphere. Throw in the excellent food and beer selection and its pretty essential.
One of the few places that has genuine craft cider. Beers looked good and people were enjoying the place.Probably better for groups than individuals.
The food is amazing. Frank, the head chef, treated us to an amazing meal. We had the delicious nachos as an amous bouche. Follow this up with fantastic patatas bravas, delicious trio of sliders, unbelievable pulled pork tacos and exquisite prawn dish and monkfish tacos, we were truly spoilt. The food was simply amazing. The chef obviously loves what he is doing. Our waiter Ricky was brilliant, taking everything in his stride, no matter what we requested.I cannot wait for my next visit.
Lovely bar . Great food , excellent beer and friendly staff. What more could you ask for .
What a great surprise. Great bar with good service and craft beer range serving excellent Tapas
Great place to try the local craft beer. This is a brewpub. There are some experimental beers on tap here you cant get anywhere else. The bar tender was knowledgable and very friendly. It wasnt too busy either on a Tuesday night. I reccomend it for the beer connoisseur.
We sat at the bar and felt like being in a prime spot where we could watch the barman mixing drinks. He was always ready to answer our many questions with a lot of humor and knowledge. We ended up trying several drinks and were glad we did. Great little place!
Beautiful pub pity they only have canned cider , didnt eat there but food being served looked top class.
Nice beer selection and the pulled pork sliders are great. Its very very dark though, I know pubs have low lighting to create a mood, but I saw so many people fall going up and down the steps just because they couldnt see. Would hands down he the best pub in Ennis if there was just a little more light. Even when the sun is shining outside its pitch black in here.
Great food! Not standard Irish pub fare. Local beer - Western Heard - was lovely.
Craft beers + tasty grub
Great Pubwith an open fireplace adding to the already friendly atmosphere, very helpful barmen , Good choice of larger and beers, , great place for a night out with friends and family!
Nice choice of craft beer from tap and mature crowd, definitely recommended place.
Cosy place, but cannot really judge. I didn t went alone bit with my friend on a empty day(guessing they are more crowded days). We didn t speak to anyone else, not even the bartender
Very nice/cosy bar. Great atmosphere with a good choice of craft beers
Great selection of craft beers. Chilled atmosphere. Lovely ambiance.
Propably the best place in Ennis to meet and have a chat with friends. Here you can taste a great choice of irish whiskeys and craft beers in a quiet atmosphere.Spokojna atmosfera. Wyśmienite miejsce na spotkanie i konwersację z przyjaciòłmi. Duży wybór irlandzkich whiskey i piw.
Great bar. Good beer selection and very nice seating inside. Clean and friendly.
