Menu looked great however chicken wings tasteless and 8 for a main course, had to send back for more crispiness! Burger sounded great but tasteless, no flavour, even bun and salad accompaniments with burger dull and lacklustre, no flavour. Chips pale and flavourless. Wont be back and would not recommend.

Good service until it came time to pay the bill. The food was not good. Bland curry, bland chicken sandwich. The outside of the place (we were on pationeeds a wash and a refurbishment. So much potential here.

Chicken Ballantine was horribly overcooked and left under a heat lamp. Steak sandwich was too tough to eat as a sandwich. Server was pleasant, they took our order and delivered food promptly, but didnt return until we flagged them down for our cheque 40 mins later. Didnt clear table or enquire as to why our meals were half eaten. Skip this one folks.

Food was unreal, out of this world staff was very welcoming, Laura I’m talking about you. Couldn’t get enough of this place lovely cozy spot.

The building is fantastic, and nicely decorated inside. The food was mediocre and not good value for money. What was really most disappointing was the service. We were left waiting for long periods; on arrival, to order drinks, and food. By the time we wanted to get the bill the staff had just given up and seemed to have no interest.

Had a dinner with friends and can say nothing but good from staff to the food to the placeWould recommend to anyone the Jacobs Ladder from the menu, super tender meat with a sauce full of flavour.

The food was grand, not amazing. Got garlic prawns, chicken fajitas and salmon. Presentation was nice but the food wasn’t flavoursome. The dessert (eton messwas very disappointing. Good menu and good potential but overall very average.

Lovely place and amazing food.The location itself is nice with all these books surrounding you that help create a cozy atmosphere.The outdoor area is very nice with a bit of view of Cork.In terms of food you MUST try the seafood chowder and the steak burger.Absolutely recommended!

We stayed two nights in the address cork and had food in this stunning restaurant.Staff were excellent, couldnt do enough for us. Very very polite and attentive. Food was delicious both nights , products all fresh and very tasty. Drinks were Devine. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended

Got takeaway afternoon tea last weekend, it was fab, easy to order over the phone, was ready on time for collection, staff were very friendly, definitely recommend.

Got a take away roast dinner with dessert. Roast was advertised as sirloin but was so tough it couldnt have been sirloin, maybe round roast. Anyway, meat very tough and couldnt finish it, very small portions, 1 scoop of mashed potatoes, a bit of roast veg and gravy for €12-14. Same amount of veg and mash as the childs meal. Certainly not worth the price, actually picked up far better quality roast dinner in local deli for €7. Childs dinner was literally half a tiny chicken breast with bone on, about a tablespoon of meat, potatoes and veg nice. Desert however was divine. Staff lovely to deal with which is where the 1 star came from, no star for the actual dinner.

Had a meal there this evening absolutely brilliant could not fault it one bit and young Mary the waitress from Italy was fantastic so polite and obliging we will definitely be back and it might even be tomorrow, loved it keep up the great work and fabulous food 😀😀😋😋😋👍👍👍❤

Lovely atmosphere, big enough for comfort. Seven of us dined, everyone was happy. In my case would recommend the seafood chowder, and great beef, my t-bone cooked to perfection. A rich banoffee pie for dessert. Staff are friendly, polite and accommodating. The only reason Mc Gettigans didnt get the full five, is parking, tight turning circle and not many spaces. Otherwise, excellent.

Portion sizes not worth the prices.Chorizo pasta dish very basic.We wont be in a rush back here.

My wife, daughter and I had Sunday lunch today and we really enjoyed the lovely food. Ronan and two young ladies were hard at work in the restaurant and bar. Ronan was so polite and helpful. Whole the restaurant was busy Ronan chatted with us and dried up our table after a water spill I created. We have eaten here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Well done to all involved

Food mediocre. Service slow and disorganised. Having said that, its a lovely setting and the staff are very nice to deal with.

Service was good.Food was meh.My only real complaint was the seating. The rather large restaurant had only one occupied table when we arrived but were were told to sit right next to them. Just strange.

Returned back here on new years eve to celebrate my 5th wedding anniversary as I do every year as this is where we held the reception. Wasnt very impressed with the food this time round. The monkfish scampi was a bit tough as if reheated. I know theres no fresh deliveries this time if year but Ive never had this issue before.

The service was terrible. I felt sorry for the waiting staff as orders werent coming out from kitchen. When food eventually appeared it came down to table in dribs and drabs. Very dissapointed and cant recommend it.

Food was good. Not great. Service was slow. Sign at the door saying to remain there to be seated but was ignored for 5minutes, staff even looked at me but didnt bother to come over. Eventually seated after I walked towards a waitress.Forgot my drinks order, was finished my food by the time it came down. A bit of a shame some better trained staff and it could be great.

Wonderful restaurant in the Ambassador Hotel on Military Hill. Lovely decor with lots of bookshelves giving a drawing room feel. Food is very good and staff are helpful. Well worth a visit.

Nice food, nice staff and a lovely seated area out the front when its sunny. Service isnt quick but its grand for a leisurely lunch or dinner.

What a great bar and staff. Kudos to Tom, Rob, Sally Anne and young Jack. You all made our holiday to Cork so much fun.
