McGah’s Pub & Pianos in San Ramon

They were super accommodating when I made reservations and gave us a table next to the stage.The bar was really crowded when we arrived, and they had one server who was super sweet and fast.I would’ve given it five stars but the pianist were not even close to being an Elton John, but they did their best to give the audience a really good time.If you tip them, they will play your song immediately and do their very best to make it sound good but remember they have to know every song on the planet, which is darn near impossible.My cousin said it was “phenomenal” but for me it was a really good time spent with fun pianist.

I really do like to promote small town businesses, but this place seems to have started to give up. Im sure the pandemic is part of the issue, but things seems to be going downhill here. Ive been going to Players (and the several names before itover the years. Went on a Saturday night around 8:00 and by 11:00 it was maybe half full. Maybe it was just a slow night in Danville, or maybe it was because: 1they had no food as the kitchen was down for the foreseeable future; 2They had no draft beer, and the only beer with any taste they had in the bottle was Lagunitas IPA, good choice buy very common 3Their mixed drinks were in a glass that maybe held 8 ounces, with ice probably half of that. So three gulps and its gone. 4Lastly, used to make room for for a temporary dance floor. Not this time. People dancing (mostly our small grouphad to be on the lookout for people wanted to walk outside, and vice-versa. Constantly moving out of the way, on the the stage, etc.

I came here for a private male strip show "Hunks" it was like a outdoor/back yard strip club which was interesting. They made the most of it and did their thang on the little stage space they had. They had an outdoor bar that served every kinda flavor frozen slushie margarita you can think of 🍹🍓🍉🍇🍍🥭🥝🍑🍹. They pretty much borrowed the bar so they can get their strip on. We all sat on lawn chairs lol. Lots of male twerking 🍑 and cheek clapping 👏🏽. The female bartenders seemed to be over the whole show 🤣 before the night was over lol. No parking in front of the building, but nearby in a walking distance thats free.

What you see in Google maps is not the same as what you get when you go there. The menu has changed to Mexican only! and the place now has a run down vibe. Russian Mules were given to us in a plastic glass instead of the mugs ! You do not find any of the menu items that google shows you. Very disappointed at how the actual Xp turned out.

This is an AWESOME PLACE!! My wife and I went on a recommendation, we brought a bunch of ladies with us (more ladies=more fun!). The vibe is off the hook! The piano guys (dualing, but not dueling?get EVERYONE involved and the place erupts in camaraderie and mayhem! Not a place for a romantic dinner for 2, but if you wanna belt out some tunes with strangers-turned-best-friends, this is definitely the place to be!

Good entertainment. Relatively little seating and tends to be crowded. Prices are on the higher side.

Had a great time there with friends we enjoyed the comedy and the piano players and song especially when they song uncle luke...

I never thought I would say I found authentic Mexican food in Danville. The musicians in the keys are incredible, it was a treat to hear still D.R.E as a native angelino in this bar.

Players gave us all such a memorable Valentines Day treat; free dinner, chocolate strawberries, roses, a raffle ... and two energetic talented pianists who made the night amazing!

Horrible staff. They have no idea what they are doing. "I dont know" was the answer to every question we asked. I wish I was making this up. I went there to watch Erica Valentine perform stand up comedy. It turns out she was amazing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. If you havent heard of her. You need to look her up!

The entire staff from hosts, to bartenders, to pianist, and Tommy himself have consistently been so welcoming. Always a good vibe here!

Such a fun spot! The performers are fun and so talented! Truly one of my favorite nights out has been out dancing here. Drinks were pretty affordable too!

Great music and atmosphere but be prepared to wait 30+ minutes at the bar to get drinks unless you are lucky or have a huge pair of jugs to lure the bartender with.

Its a better version of Tommy Ts... Full of fun and entertainment a Im... You have Comedy ... Everybody loves laughing! You have these Great piano players that play anything you can think of... Rap songs .. rock songs... Classical.. its a great concept. The Bartender is super quick with drinks that are definitely not watered down so thats an A+ ... The Jello shots are super awesome... And creative.. the dj plays good music ... Sometimes they do kareoke with this crazy cool singer guy . They are even having a costume contest for halloween.... There is always something interesting at this bar. The monte cristo sandwich is delicious... Need I say more? If you havent been to Players ... You are missing out... Go now ...

The three stars are for the piano players and the server that was working hard. Without that this is a one star in every other way! The other reviews here were clearly paid for with some free drinks .Danville location with no signature drinks? Run of the mill snack shack food? Not very covid safe, a few drinks in people and they were all way too close. Tables also seemed closer than they needed to be. . . Prediction, this piano bar will change hands once again in about a year.

Definitely a fun place on a Saturday night. Dueling pianos were great. The crowd was having fun, people were dancing, the place was energetic.

We love eating out. Last night we went to this excellent place which we didn’t know before. We passed a delightful evening there with great cooking and a courteous crew and a talented cook. We added this place in our phone list and we will no doubt come back soon. We highly recommend.

Great place to take a date after dinner. Sometimes this place is really hopping and other times it’s very mellow, depending on whether or not someone is playing. Parking is tough but that’s not something you should be worried about if you’re coming here, take an Uber home! Definitely not as divey as some of the other country bars in Danville, but not your Grandma’s wine cellar either. Always a good atmosphere.

Great time here. The pianists were very talented too. Be ready to spend at least $20 if you want them to play your song, but thats just a function of the demand as its a pretty popular spot in Danville. Bartender service was good but not great. Theyre understaffed at a small bar for the weekends. Also they reach capacity pretty early on most weekend nights so be ready to wait outside for a couple minutes.

Awesome atmosphere with great piano players. Wings are delicious. Nachos are good too! Fun place.

OMG....we had out of town guests and decided to take them for a little fun in our neighborhood. This was a blast!!! We had more fun than expected thanks to the piano duel. Music was great and so was the dancing. Our server was super busy and yet very attentive and nice. I highly recommend this place.

Good drinks, fun and friendly staff, tasty food and a very fun dueling pianos, the piano players take requests from many genres. People sing along and dancing if you want. Pretty fun time.

Went there on a Saturday for the dual piano show. The vibe was nice and they serve a diversity of beers, wines, cocktails and some food. Great night out!

Fun place when they have the dueling pianos. Very crowded and hard to find a seat both inside and out. We got there fairly early but still waited a long time before a table opened up.

This place is so much fun! I came here the first time last Friday and had a great time. The guys at the piano were awesome. Next time I go I will make sure to come earlier because it got so packed there was hardly any room to stand.

Located in the downtown Danville quaint surrounding Victorian houses, adorable store fronts.I enjoyed the view of rolling hills. This bar restaurant has excellent customer service. I had a classic of a burger and fries wonderful side sauce.This location has outside seating available when the weather is nice.

Looks like a great place. I went there on 2/13/2018 sat at the bar and was asked if I was in the party. No I was not, I drove 30 minutes to meet a friend though. I had to leave. Nothing outside that me and my friend saw. The bar keeperette was unapologetic and told me it was on their website. Not on the mobile front page on my phone. I would have preferred a less sociopathic response. Maybe I was the twentieth person that wasnt in the party and had no idea the joint was closed. I will try again, maybe, they dont need my business and it is a long way for me to go.

Awesome fun place. Piano guys are a blast. Surprisingly, the food is good too. Had some fish tacos, really good. Only issue, bathroom facilities are woefully inadequate for the size of the crowds. Lines even for the mens room.

This place is a sports bar/pub for most of the time. Crowded and even a little rowdy. Then, on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:30, out come the dueling pianos and it becomes gigantic party. Its crowded, nosy and a lot of fun. If you want to sit though, get there early.

One of the most enjoyable evenings Ive ever had. Crowd was great. Entertainment fantastic and bartender, Andrea, was without a doubt, one of the best Ive ever seen (Ive been a bartender for over 30years). Highly recommend everyone go any Friday or Saturday for a GREAT NIGHT OUT.

This place was awesome! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, yummy food and the ENTERTAINMENT makes u NEVER want to leave. Definitely have decided to make the trip once a month to come hang out at our new fav PIANO Bar! A must try of u new to the area.

Great bar with excellent pub food - the Täter tots and sandwiches in particular are quite good. Very nice selection of beer and cocktails, and the weekly trivia League on Tuesdays is always a very fun event.

Love the atmosphere at McGahs. If you havent been here in awhile you gotta check out the new menu. Who would have thought it could actually get any better!!

We are part of the Tuesday trivia regulars at McGahs. Food and drinks are solid at this venue. I really enjoy their turkey burger. The only downside is the table shuffle required to accommodate the medium and large sized parties that frequent trivia.

A total sleeper bar - youd never know how fun it is until you step inside. The pianists Travis and Dave "Santa Clause" and the drinks make this place awesome.

The dueling pianos are fun entertainment and the food is pretty good. It gets a little crowded at times though but I suppose that is both good and bad depending on perspective.

Snacked on some delicious pulled-pork sliders with excellent BBQ sauce. The fries were good too. Draft selection was quite poor though. There were about 1 "several" choices and they were all from the big names. The game was on (Giants & As), but no game sound, just random tunes.

Great sports bar -- open, spacious and friendly bartenders. I was surprised that they didnt have the Golden State Warriors game on the big screen (hockey -- and not even the SJ Sharks -- was on instead). I didnt stay too long but Id come back with friends for a chill night

The food has been great, no complaints. The service was good, our first visit it took a little while for them to come to our table and get our drinks, but they were really busy. Our second visit was excellent, everything perfect. Definitely recommend this place.
