Its been about 3 years since I have been thereAt that point the place was hopping and food served was goodThis time I was early , shortly after nuin but while the food was good the atmosphere was gone, poty

Lovely pub with delicious food and lovely friendly and helpful staff.

4 times Ive walked to this pub now on a Friday or Saturday evening and its been closed. All the while online opening hours tell different, thats a joke.

Lovely food and comfy little pub. Manager is sound, pottering from table to table making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. Recommend the cottage pie. Chips were best I had for ages. Everything fresh.

Got a.taxi there today (Saturday eveningit was closed, online it said open. Wasted €13. Not happy 👎🏼

Drinks are cold, food is good and the staff is very nice.

For a pub that was voted best carvery in Ireland a few years ago , theres not much food been served now!

Had a seafood platter here a year ago and it was amazing. The weather was great and we sat outside by the water. Going back again in a few weeks

I had a business lunch with some Spanish visitors in your pub today. I wanted them to experience a bit Irish culture and you surpassed all my expectations. My guests had cornbeef and cabbage, pints of Guinness and a wonderful Irish welcome.

Ample parking, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and a nice pint to boot, like a country pub but in the city, we will be back. 👍

I had a really lovely evening in Bull McCabes. The staff were lovely, very friendly & helpful. The setting was perfect for a summers evening & the pizzas were delicious.

Went in tonight for the first time. I was a bit apprehensive as there was only 2 other customers. (It was a Wednesday evening, and by the time I left there was plenty more in.The staff were very welcoming. The portions were huge, and the food was super. Very reasonably priced. I would have no problem recommending this place, and next time Im working in cork I will be back.

I thought this bar was absolutely overrated, overpriced and the food was in my opinion a 4 out of 10. For anyone to price on cottage pie at €12.75 one would expect service with a smile at least. The man at the till had as much personality as a slug, without even a "hello" or "its cold outside" we got two lunches. One was Cornbeef with veg and mash, (the mash was like it had been made two days agothe second was cottage pie wit veg. Landed on a plate and all he said was €26.85. Not a please, nothing. We asked was coffee included again he said one word "no". Went to the table which was not properly cleared since the last person before us was ripped off and realised there were no condiments. No salt, pepper, nothing. The floors were grubby and the toilets looked like they hadnt been attended to all morning. Again no toilet paper, no soap. And I thought, as nice and inviting as the staff. Wont be going back there in a hurry.

This place i absolutely love,the food was served quickly,and hot,the staff were friendly as a first time visit to Ireland, it made a very positive impression on me ,would highly recommend ,beautiful inside

Nice place, great carvery (Sunday lunch). Good service, happily accommodated us and our two small children. Good value for money and nice range of ales.Order your drinks in rhyme (poem, limerick, hardcore 80s hiphopto receive a free jug of water with complimentary glasses.

Place is lovely . Staff are nice. Service is terrible. Honestly had to remind them twice as they forgot things , not even busy to warrant an excuse. Food was bang average. Chicken in the vol au vaunt was reheated. The best thing was the desert. Absolutely huge portion . Would only go back for a drink .not recommended for food. Such a shame, always had great memories with my parents going here years ago.

Cheerful place with hearty atmosphere.

It was alright. Nothing crazy. Beef was over cooked and they told me they ran out of stuffing then the customers who came to sit beside me 5minutes later had some stuffing. Werent really pleasant to be honest but if youre just looking for a quick fix then it does the job

Lovely spot on they way from the cork airport, sad we were passing this place for so many years and only checked out now. Our must stop place every time from now on ! Delicious carvery served here, good selection of food,drinks, great service, lovely decorated over years with many memorabilia. Met the owner, had a little chat, great man with stories to tell over years of running the establishment. Well recommended ! Thank you ! And see you again and again :)

Went for Sunday lunch. I got the bacon and veg which I must say was very very nice and the staff are all so friendly. Only thing Id like to see improve is if there was two staff serving as there was only one girl and had to queue for about 15 mins. Still the food was worth it

The Bull Mc Cabes is a fantastic pub, good food, wide variety of beverages and good music. It is excellent for lunch, especially its chicken curry half and half. Great atmosphere and fabulous service and staff. We have used it for christenings, communions etc and I cannot fault Derek and the staff. Fantastic.

We were in the area & called in for a carvery lunch. Got 2 half portions for the children which were plentiful. The two adult portions were generous. The food was lovely & the restaurant was not busy. Service was from carvery area

A great place to stop on the way to or back from the airport, or if you are just passing. A wide variety of good food choices, seating arrangements, small car park but road parking is available, staff are friendly, proprietor makes an effort to check on everyone, so well worth the trip.

What an amazing place with amazing staff! We were lucky enough to have stayed in the Airbnb just above the pub for our honeymoon. We loved that we could go down to such a beautiful pub when ever we needed food or drinks! The food is delicious and the drinks are great! Derek is such a sweet owner and we loved the chats we had with him in his pub. We cant wait to visit again!

I go here semi regularly for a carvery lunch, it is always busy and theres a reason, the carvery is high quality and tasty, service is quick and friendly also which is useful when you are under a time constraint. all in all a very nice place to go for food, cant speak for the night time as I have never been for drinks.

It was my first carvery and I was very impressed. Food was very well cooked. You get 3 slices of meat of your choice plus succulent sides of mash, chips or potato wedges. Great drinks selection and attentive staff! Apparently the menu slightly varies every day thus theres no menu on the website. Cant wait to try out the Monday "Pizza+Pint=€12" promotion!

Very young staff doing theyre best. They were pleasant but slow to take our order. Another customer had to approach the counter to give his order as he got fed up of waiting. Food was tasty and hot. One experienced staff member would sort this.

My wife, 11 month old daughter and myself went for Dinner. We had the chicken curry, steak sandwich and drinks. The food was very good and the portion sizes were large. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable for our meal. We would definitely recommend trying it out.
