Mayur Indian Kitchen Restaurant bar 馬友友印度廚房 (MIK-2) - Indian restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
Good place in Taipei for authentic North Indian Dishes and indian groceries.
(1They have big menue but they do not serve around 30% of that, so chances are that you may not actually get what you want (2If you go there around closing time, even if you are eating, they will ask you to order everything at once so, they discourage further ordering (3They make thick roties/chapaties (4Slightly expensive then other Indian restaurants nearby (5You may not get real Indian taste/curry but okay in Taiwan (6Serving staff not much bothered with your concerns
I love Indian food and am always interested in trying new restaurants. However, I must say that my experience was less than underwhelming. We ordered a tandoori prawns, chicken masala, and two types of naan.A plate of 3 tiger prawns costs 690NTD (a bit pricy but justifiable had the prawns been fresh and been properly cooked), however, they weren’t fresh as both my mother and I both experienced severe hives later in the evening (only ever occurs to us when we consume seafood that has gone bad). The chicken tikka masala was the best dish on the table, as it was made with thigh meat and seasoned nicely.Another thing that was inexcusable was the fact that guests were not notified about the fact that the toilet was out of use. When I tried to go to the toilet after my meal, having ordered drinks, I was then told that the toilet was blocked. This is not something that should happen in a restaurant at this price point (or any price point excluding street vendors). Another lady waiting next to me was also distressed by this as none of us have been told prior to ordering.I would highly recommend Saffron Fine Indian Cuisine/ 番紅花 for any Indian food lover. This is our first, and sadly will also be our last time dining here.
Bhatura is perfect, man. You guys should order this.
Bhatura is so good! You guys should give it a try.

Dear friends/愛的朋友,!!警告Caution!!Spreading awareness for a healthy life.傳播健康生活意識Please think before you purchase anything from thisstore. We purchased Doda barf 100% Hygiene (衛生and madewith care (as labeled), was covered with fungus (發霉).Poha, Suji and Besan almost to get expired within a fewdays, Photos are attached 快過期了(附照片).I guess he uses the same expired products to serve in the restaurant, as after cooked its difficult to know. Its not the first time to happen, many people faced a similar issue. Boss simply says sorry and then carries on with his dirty business.So-called a reputed restaurant in Taiwan. Is this your quality food?Is this your standard? Is this what you serve in your restaurants?Sorry to say but I am really angry with this, I hopeanyone would be the same.
Nice Biriyani was awesomeRaj Rana service was good
Special thanks to Mr Raj Rana...for helping us to relish Indian food in Taipei...
A place to taste Authentic Indian Food in Taipei City... I been to other indian restaurants in Taipei city but didnt maintained that Authenticity, infact disappointed. This restaurant brought the taste as typical as Indian taste. Chef Raja Rana personally asked the expectations and made the Lamb Biryani very tasty more than expected.. Starting from servers to the cashier all are very friendly and nice hospitality.
Authentic Indian cuisine been craving for a while, finally got a chance to enjoy the food.
Food is good. Servers friendly. Ordered hot tea without sugar but it was served lukewarm. Although the tea was re-warmee, it cane back sweet and they wouldnt change it. Service friendly but not attentive.
Good food, amiable people! Great service and place to go if you want to intro Indian cuisine to Taiwanese buddies.
Great food and great service!!
Palak paneer was solid. So was chicken masala, however, chicken had some bones, which should be processed properly, otherwise it can be a safety hazard. For an upscale place, this should not have happened. Prices are higher compared to other similar places.
Very nice indian food!will come again
I came here with 5 friends. Service was excellent, especially Lulu; she was super friendly. They gave us some good recommendations for food. The appetizer of crispy shells filled with yogurt and mint was super refreshing in the mouth. The tandoori chicken was moist inside and very flavorful. The curries were tasty. We ate every bit of each dish that we ordered. There were no leftovers to go.
Nice environment and good curry, suitable for fine dining. Recommended for curry lovers and those who want to treat themselves with a nice meal.
The food was very authentic Indian food, naan was tasty and good. The staff Rohan n lulu was friendly 👍🏻 a place to be recommended!❤️
My husband and I were craving South Indian food and I can say that this was an Amazing experience. It took me back to india as the taste is the exact same!!! I must say, the welcome drink is the best ever you would have ever had. There is a huge Variety of dishes on the menu. It tastes authentic. Rohan bhai is the best as he is knowledgeable about the food you ask about. Thank you so much for your hospitality and definitely coming soon to eat !!
Very good user experience with warm hospitality. Rohan has terrific Mandarin and Terry is very nice lady. Make us a wonderful family get together. / Carol
The food was really a delight. Was so glad to found good indian food in Taipei. I couldnt help myself but use my hands to eat. And top it off with a cup of hot masala tea. Bliss.PS: I ate there 2 days in a row.
Very nice Indian restaurant with cozy environment and great food. The veggie curry and naan taste good. As it is Fathers Day today, I even get chocolate naan for dessert. Glad the restaurant hold to high standards from food to service even in the pandemic. Though I am one of the very few customers today, I still feel very welcomed and happy about the dining experience.
Absolutely delicious food. Ordered various dishes including off menu and the flavours were top drawer. Friendly service and superb authentic Indian food. Best I have had in Taiwan. By a mile.
Probably the best Indian restaurant in Taipei. The flavors were awesome. It was spiced just right. The service was great as well. Will be going back for sure. The naan bread was really great
This is the best MIK and Top 3 Indian restaurants in Taiwan. The food here tastes rich, authentic and has a lot of depth. I would recommend the Dal Makhani, Biryani and Tandoori Aloo in particular. However, I cannot give it 5 stars because there are some consistency issues if you order from here often. I get their Dal Makhani frequently, and around 20-30% of the time its too watery and not good. Their quantity is also not consistent - a couple of times Ive gotten surprisingly less quantity thats barely enough for one person. Once I spent 200+ NTD on Cold Coffee and got half a cup. However, whenever there are issues, the staff is very willing to help. Unfortunately, the consistency rate being low makes me less likely to order from them.Previous Review:MIK-2s UberEats work hours do not reflect that the store is closed late afternoon. If you order during late afternoon (~3:30PM), it wont be delivered before 5PM, and youll still have to pay full price for the meal.I called the restaurant at 4:30PM after the long wait, and they said that theyve mentioned on the app that the order would be delayed by 30+ minutes as it was placed *during their resting hours*. Unfortunately, Uber Eats doesnt communicate this piece of information to the customers until the very end and only uses it to coordinate their delivery staff. What bothers me, however, is the nonchalance of the representative who I talked to. It seems as if no one cares about customer experience and long waiting time. I do not understand why they cant set their work hours appropriately to prevent people from ordering when theyre closed.
Great place to grab lunch in the area. They offer a business lunch set which was good value. The naan bread was amazing! Very polite and friendly staff.
Amazing dining experience at MIK-2. We chose the set menu for two which included plenty of dishes and you could choose which appetiser, naan and curry you wanted. The curry itself was delicious. Very aromatic and flavoursome. Great decor inside and lots of staff happy to serve you. This is the best Indian food I’ve found in Taipei so definitely recommend!
Authentic indian food chicken tikka masala, tandoori roti and biryani is a must try
Great selection of curry, meat, and vegetarian options. The chicken was savory and nan was very fragrant. I was here for my birthday lunch and overall I had a nice experience.
Always love naan with curry. We had the bbq flavored chicken which is very juicy and delicious too. Great place for Indian food!!!
Really good Indian food! The Butter chicken along with the garlic naan is one of the best in Taipei.
I don’t know much about Indian food but I loved this. Didn’t expect to have such good non-east asian cuisine in Taiwan, based on other experiences. But the 奶油paneer, garlic nan, and rice pudding were so awesome. Nice atmosphere, nice staff. Very satisfied. If you are aware of the pricing around Taipei and know that good foreign food is always relatively a bit expensive, you’ll be be happy with your experience.
Always a fan of chef Mayur’s food & thematic restaurants. Interestingly, after you have visited more than half of them, you already learn to identify their flavor and quality. For me, the best experience is attending personally to the restaurant and dine there, it’s nice for you and friends , colleagues, and foreigners visiting Taiwan who haven’t really tried authentic Indian food.In this occasion, after visiting their (10/10 starsrestaurant in Zhubei, my boyfriend had the great idea to take his colleagues to dine here. I must say it was phenomenal in every aspect. Chef Mayur even went to our table and greeted us, the service was superb, the flavor was awesome and spicy as we like it (this unique requirement is so hard to find in Taiwan). One of our friends even ordered the highest level of spice which was amazing. This same friend mentioned something about probably improving a little bit in the cocktail department, however I personally enjoyed my drinks. As always the winner dishes: lamb biryani and butter chicken, which are all time favorites and always slow cooked and well prepared. In short, we will keep on coming, eating here and bringing more people. This is hands down the best Indian food you’ll have in Taiwan, I will say this on every review. Keep up the amazing work Mayur and all MIK staff!
Food is good with Indian cuisine taste. If u are looking for a place without that smell of Chineese restaurants, it is a good restaurant to visit. Food is good. But please dont expect authentic Indian taste. This review is for MIK-2 only. For your info...MIK stands for Mayur Indian Kitchen. It is spread around in Taipei and numbered as MIK-1,2,3,4,5 and 6. All MIKs are not the same in terms of food flavor and ambience.
Some of the best Indian food in the city. The menu is the most interesting Indian food menu I’ve seen in Taipei, covering different regions, styles and flavours. It reads like a book. I’ve been several times and there are still so many things I haven’t tried. When you look at that menu, there is are feeling of the celebration of life. For written word to do that is half the job done. The other half of course, lies in actually eating the food. The service is fantastic. The staff warmly greet you every time you go and are authentic in their engagement and friendliness. They make an effort to remember what your preferences are so they can guide your selection. The food itself is divine, comforting and nostalgic. Honestly, it’s the kind of food that makes you leave the mental landscape and be fully immersed in wonderful flavours, decadence and satisfaction. None of the flavours bear down and weight your palate, which marks Mayur as unique from other Indian restaurants. Somehow, there’s a lightness amidst those gorgeous flavours.Mayur is the kind of restaurant I go to when I want to have a bacchanalian feast with friends, drink lots of good wine and be embraced in a cozy, ambient environment.
Saviour in Taipei for Indian visitors who cannot accommodate local cuisine. Went here with an US colleague of mine. I liked the dishes but my colleague did not like the taste of the dishes served to him. They had 1 for 1 free beer option but the restriction was that we have to like them on facebook which I thought was discriminatory. Elected to pay in full with no obligation. Prices were comparable to the restaurants in the locality. The place could have been better neat. The entrance glass door is full of marks/hand prints, appears not cleaned for a while. The staff are courteous and enjoyed their service.
Average Indian fare. Naan is the weak point; pretty flat and mediocre. Spice comes from dried cayenne and other dried pepper, not from chilies — as such, it lacks flavor and is more hit you in the mouth spice for spice’s sake. Service is over the top solicitous; perhaps because so many reviews accuse them of the contrary. Be sure to ask for the lunch deal; it’s not on the English menu and ordering a la carte is on the pricey side.
Delicious Indian Food! Highly recommend their Punjabi Butter Chicken!
Great place to find an Indian food. Tastes authentic and very Indian, thanks to the bunch of Indian chefs they have. A touch expensive, but thats understandable. Good going guys!!
