I ordered the shrimp Alfredo with salmon, because I was feeling bougie, and my friend ordered shrimp Alfredo. It was a lot of food and it was good!! This is a nice restaurant. The price for the pasta was worth it. I will be back again before I leave from vacation…. :)
Dropped in last evening and was surprised with the quality of the food. Burgers are very good. Atmosphere was a little quiet but weather probably had a lot to do with that. Worth a visit if your in the area
Nice place to have brunch. The sometimes have people performing which adds a nice vibe to the place. I had the steak and eggs, it was good but I think it could’ve used less salt. The service was pretty good and we had a fun time overall.
Love this place! I have been coming here since 2010 and the service is always great. The food is really good and the staff is amazing. We ordered burgers and they were perfect! The cappuccino was so good and made with love. It is my fave place in South Beach. The hotel here is also super nice and spacious. A really nice place to stay and eat!
We went out for a late meal and stumbled upon this restaurant. They have a good selection of items to choice from with the typical "overpriceness" of South Beach fashion. My meal was great. My BF however, didnt receive the correct ordered items and when trying to explain the server the issue was an issue in itself due the language barrier with the staff member. It took a while but we finally got it fixed. I did like the concept of the extra large margarita. That part was great, but the endless mosquitoes not so much. South Beach restaurants with outside sitting should definitely invest in citronella tiki torches. They are I expensive and effective (given the price point of the food items, its the least yall can do).
Ill be back at Maxines. I enjoyed the dinner, the drinks and the vibe. There was a saxophone player outside giving awesome jazz music. Indoor had an overwhelming scent when you first walked in, but got better as you got used to it. We had the Mahi-Mahi, qnd the coconut shrimp. For the drinks, we had the Bahama Papi and the Pina Colada. The service was enjoyable, and I felt taken care of throughout the dinner. Overall, Ill be back again when Im not busy trying out other dinner experiences!
Food was terrible. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was 3 microwave Buffalo chicken tenders on a bun. That, a beer, and a chicken wrap came to $50 with their hidden service fee and hidden automatically added gratuity. I’m fine with the fees, but they should make it known ahead of time ( it’s possible I missed it in the menu. Maybe it’s there but fine print?Staff was very friendly, but extremely slow.
We went for breakfast and we were 5 people, the place has good vibes and has great outdoor place, inside is very nice too. But the service wasn’t 5 stars, was not busy, our section were another 2 tables, for 3 coffees we waited 30 mins, the food came and it was cold, but still was very good. Is a vibe the place but not the servicee…
Maxines is always good, whether its for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I had the chicken parm and it was excellent. Crispy yet the chicken was moist. I have to say we were very disappointed when we were turned away the following evening. The gentleman working the reception area wouldnt sit us inside because it was "happy hour". 😣
Our daughter has to eat gluten free. We understand that thats a problem for a lot of restaurants. The menu at the street of Maxines told us, and let me quote: "There are always gluten free options available". That sounded great so we got ourselves a table. When the waitress finally came to find out what we wanted to drink, we asked about the gluten free options. My daughter was told she could eat a salad... Quickly I told her there are several fish dishes on the menu that are gluten free based on the ingredients. After a while the lady came to tell us there was no more ice tea that one daughter had ordered. After that the waiting game began. More than one hour it took to get us the first 4 plates of food. The large pizza that my son was offered was way larger than mentioned by the waitress (and too much). I ordered a whole red snapper, but after 25 minutes I was told that there wasnt any. Quickly I was kinda forced to choose a different fish, without seeing the menu again. The food tasted great, but my daughter with the non existent ice tea didnt get any food while gluten free daughter had already finished. When the salmon wrap finally came my daughter already started with my son on the too big pizza. We let the lady send the wrap back to the kitchen. After our complaint the waitress tried to make all kind of excuses... When the check came, my snapper, that they couldnt serve was on the bill... In the end I ate one slice of pizza. The two kids couldnt eat it all, it was too much. (Although they can eat a lot, especially pizza)
Been here a couple of times during my stay in Miami for breakfast and lunch, their catalina breakfast is perfect in the mornings and their staff is always friendly and attentive. Ester was a delight and definitely makes me want to come back during my next trip here. Plus they have the best orange juice and a great mango smoothie! Boyfriend loved the coffee too :)
Nice venue, good food and with acceptable pricing. Good value are salads w/salmon and the rigatoni a la vodka were good.
I ordered Classic Mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, and fresh basil pizza. They claim the sauce is homemade and this and that is imported from out of the country, so I had very high expectations. Also, the menu says 12 is for one person, nope it is a large pizza with about 8 slices. The pizza was disappointing, with pizza hut-level ingredients and nothing special except the fresh sprig of basil in the middle. The place is so cute, and the other food served looked so good that I wanted to like it. Try something else.
Amazing food, good service (not the fastest but friendly and knowledgeable), great spacious patio, and reasonable prices for generous portions. We visited several times in June for dinner and enjoyed it very much. Chicken piccata, chicken schnitzel, Cobb salad as well as Mahi-mahi were delicious! 👍🏻👍🏻 100% smoke-free property.
I had a spinach Benedict and a double espresso, and it was great. The Benedict came with grilled English Muffins, which were amazing.
Food: 3/5Service 0/5Came in around 3:30 on a sunday and place was basically empty. Drinks for 4, two appetizers, a wrap, and a salad took 1.5 hours (Not to mention it added up to $150+ before tip). Two of us got the completely wrong drinks which our server argued with us over before saying we didn’t know what we were talking about and walking away. After serving a party with minors alcohol the staff had the great idea to check our IDs- they bought “I left it in the car”Mussels in marinara was surprisingly good but about the only dish holding up 3/5 stars for food. So many better options around here where you can get what you pay for and not have to argue about it.
Amazing place! We were starving and could not find the "right" place to eat. We were craving some home-style food and Maxines Bistro was just the hit. We had a Grilled Smon with mashed potatoes and veggies, and Chicken Schnitzel with potatoes and veggies as well. 30 min after we got the food the plates were EMPTY! The food was very delicious, fresh and the margaritas were to die for. Shout out to our server, Julien, for an exceptional service! He was very attentive, very sweet and polite. Definitely coming here next time!
Truly one of the most chaotic dining experiences I’ve ever had. Between the bartender yelling at everyone and everything across the bar, not making peoples drinks in order and only serving his patrons, vacuums running the whole time and the water up to our ankles while we ate, it was a lot to say the least. The only good thing about this place is that the food was good.
The subtotal of my bill was $30. There was a service charge of $1.80 + 14% automatic gratuity added. All good, except when the service is not so good. The female server I had may have been overloaded with tables; slow to greet, didn’t deliver my food, didn’t check everything was okay, so slow delivering my bill I just handed her my cc for an expedited checkout, and didn’t take the time to explain to automatic additional charges. 4 stars for “eh”(badservice but good food. I ordered the grilled/roasted salmon. I may consider revisiting, but not anytime in the near future.
The food was really good. I was disappointed because I asked three times if they could include bacon in my Baja wrap , after confirming with the cook she said they could. The wrap comes without bacon and I waited quite a while to get another one when it should have been on the fly. My partner was nearly done with her food before I got mine just for missing bacon. The caramel latte was great and my vodka and orange juice was fine .
Fabian Fabian Fabian. If you come to this spot ask to be seated in his area his energy is amazing. We came for brunch and sat for a few hours drinking mimosas and just enjoying the music. The prince Edwards mussels were juicy and cooked just right.
Stopped in here for supper one night, food was delicious, staff was good, pricing in line. All in all a decent spot for some food, nothing fancy, nothing stood out, but there wasn’t anything to complain about either. Would definitely eat here again!
Had the salmon wrap - straight-up the BEST WRAP IVE EVER HAD - and big too. The prices werent bad at all especially for Miami Beach.
I had Salmon and Cesar Salad, but i asked for ranch. Everything was on point and served as requested. Waitress was nice and attentive. My cousin enjoyed his burger and the drinks were good.
We were seated promptly. Atmosphere was casual, which we liked. Unfortunately, it took 20 minutes for a server to come to our table. One glass of tea the whole evening. Waiter only came to bring food and then immediately left. Pizza and quinoa salad were very good, but I would have loved a plate to set my pizza on. Got Bruschetta for app and it was also very good. All in all, good food for the price, but terrible service.
Pretty solid bistro, very casual environment with something for everyone on the menu. I went for breakfast and I was seated right away. Pricing wasn’t to bad and the wait staff was very attentive.
Was seated but then waited 20 min to order and get water. Waitress kept forgetting my Diet Coke (like 3 timesWaited over an hour for a cold waffle and a “blackened” mahi mahi sandwich that was also cold and not blackened. Watched other people get up and leave without even being served water. Best part was waitress forgot the scrambled eggs but they appeared on the bill along with the “service fee” and “mandatory gratuity”.Took 15 min to get the check, paid in cash minus the scrambled eggs because we wanted to get out of there so badly.Terrible service, terrible waitress (Esther-I’m not a fan of mandatory gratuity for this reason.
Came here for breakfast with the family, had pancakes and waffles, tea, coffee, orange juice. Gave us all complementary glass of ice water since it’s hot in Miami. Our waiter was nice, chatty and recommend what I could have with my allergies. Nice place to eat for any occasion and a good variety for any age with umbrellas without request.
Service was great. Good came out quick. Family said the Maines Burger is the best they ever had
I loved the vibe of the place - it has great outdoor seating and live music… however the service was awful. We waited an hour for 2 wraps and a sandwich. Our waitress (Estercouldn’t be bothered when we asked about it and I had to go find someone else to check on our food for us. Tip is automatically included she didn’t have a need to make sure we were happy I guess. The redeeming quality was that the food actually was pretty good. However, my sandwich had all sorts of extra items on it that weren’t on the menu - it was still really good, just not what I ordered. 😂We probably wouldn’t go back.
Lovely covered outdoor patio with fans. Very comfortable, right on the street. Upscale casual with ability to sit big tables. Friendly responsive servers. Excellent breakfast and lunch spot. Great Wraps and burgers.
Food and service were far below expectations. The worse part is they didnt seem to care. The bruschetta was soaked with balsamic and the mozzarella was not freshly made. Would not advise going.
Ordered dishes:- Maxine’s Burger: burger and fries was very tasty, big portion;- Hangover Burger: burger with 2 fried eggs - also tasty;- Grilled Salmon: very big portion, especialy mushed potatoes. Salmon was also very tasty, moisty.Service was nice, mostly quick.A little bit to long waiting for dishes.Coke was not tasty!
The menu seemed interesting, so I opted to walk a 1/2 mile from my hotel / restaurant to Maxines. Maxines Bistro & Bar has both an indoor lounge and dining room and an outdoor street café. This bistro offers an EXTENSIVE (see photo of menuarray of American food items and a full bar that includes sandwiches, scrambles, waffles, etc. for breakfast and burgers, pizzas, wraps and seafood for lunch and dinner. There are also vegetarian options like garden burgers, primavera pasta, and farm-fresh salads.I ordered the breakfast sandwich (croissant filled with three scrambled eggs, melted cheese), applewood smoked bacon (option thick-cut ham, or sausage linksand breakfast potatoes (option fresh fruit or avocado and tomato). The sandwich was HUGE and could probably shared by two people. The breakfast potatoes were well seasoned (prob could have pulled back a bit on the saltand accompanied by peppers and onions. Very tasty and filling breakfast. The waitresses were super nice and all had smiles on their faces. I cant wait until my next trip to the MIA, so I can stop back by Maxines for lunch and dinner. With reasonable prices and wide selection of items on the menu, Maxines is worth a stop.Must try: Breakfast Sandwhich, Breakfast Tacos (didnt order, but table next to me did and it looked great)Want to try: Spicy Baja Wrap, Salmon Benedict, Mussels and Frites, Roasted Whole Snapper, Maxines Burger, Blackened Mahi Mahi, Frutti Di Mare, and Crispy Chili Calamari
I was here for dinner. The food was excellent. The service was pleasant and fast. Great frozen cocktails.
We came here because the pizza looked good when walking past. Took an hour and a half for my boyfriend’s pizza to be served. They gave me my mahi sandwich after an hour and 10min and I shared it with him since he was so hungry while we continued to wait for his pizza. The waiter did apologize for the wait but that was the extent of it. The Bloody Mary has crushed red pepper flakes floating in it so when you take a sip your mouth is full of them, yuk. They spray something in the bathrooms to make them smell good, great, but it sprayed in my boyfriend’s mouth and eyes, so beware of that. Food was mediocre, definitely wouldn’t come back here.
Perfect burger. Really just perfectly cooked exactly how I wanted it and the whole thing just melted in my mouth. …I guess that is why it didn’t make it into the pic. Delicious fries too. Gf enjoyed her meal as well. And great affordable prices!!! Also, the live music set a really nice enjoyable mood. Feeling good!
I loved this beautiful hotel restaurant we stumbled upon! The brunch was delicious and had many creative food options. The patio and indoor dining areas were serenely decorated. The mimosas were a great price at only $8-10 a glass and paired nicely with the food. The host was very kind and accommodating when we asked to be seated indoors, and our server was attentive! Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Miami Beach.
Was in Miami last week for my birthday and ate at Maxines 3 times because the food was so good and the staff super friendly. Literally one of the best carbonara dishes Ive ever had. Burgers are great too. You wont be disappointed!
Shakshuka was great. That was about it. Waffles my daughter ordered were 100% sugar, unedible. “Fruit” it came with had an end piece (bottomof unripe pineapple which was impossible to even bite into, 2 strawberries and a piece of melon. We were ignored with coffee refills until I called someone. The waiters could not decide who would even serve us. Honestly, I hate writing bad reviews but this place totally set the wrong mood for the whole day. We won’t be coming back ever.
Liked it so much, we ate there twice! Excellent people watching along the street and the Disco Fries are a drunk munchies dream come true.Service at dinner on a Saturday night was great, but breakfast on a Sunday morning was slow and lacking.
Im being generous with the star rating because our server was really sweet. Saw this place, it looked nice with an extensive menu. I saw mixed reviews on this place but we decided to try it out for lunch the next day. It was terrible, the worst meal we had while visiting Miami. Food looked good but nope looks are deceiving. The drinks were watery, couldnt taste the alcohol. My quesidilla was bland, my husbands fries was old and the burger wasnt great either. We wasted $90. I would not return to eat here.
The food and songs were very good. The server was amazing and he gave us lots of advice on places to visit in the area. It was a little pricy but delicious.
Great atmosphere!! Open air concept makes people watching Wicked easy!! See all walks of life while you dine on portions that are more than ample! The quesadilla was top notch and the wedge salad was the size of your head! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. We will definitely return again soon.
This place does not disappoint. The food was great portion and price. I love how the staff works as a team. Outdoor seating was great and live music was a perfect touch.
First place we ate at when we vacation there. So very quickly the service was not special at all. The pasta was so so delicious 🤤 the tacos were just okay and the sangria was okay i had way better before it needed more flavor. Waiting time was not much but food is very pricey. Overall 3 and a half stars
Definitely a broad selection of food, which I loved. The food was good. The service was okay. The waiter was great, but the hostess and management were slightly rude due to a busy weekend. I guess frustration was a major part of that.
Delicious brunch! Everything was so tasty except my corn tortilla was supposed to be crunch as the menu said, but it wasnt. Service was good despite of how busy they were.
We had so much fun here. We went here twice. Once on a Saturday morning (11ishand once on a Sunday early morning (8ish). Its best to avoid 11am - 1pm. The wait to sit outside is long 30 min+ and the crowd is very lively to say the least. However, we chose to wait inside at the bar and had the best service from Fabian. He is hilarious and gave us the BEST service. We never had to wait for drinks or water. Sonya is also amazing. They both had us laughing with their jokes and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food here is amazing and the portions are huge! On Saturday they had a live trumpet player that made sitting outside in the heat a pleasure. He interacted with the customers and even added a salsa dance in between sets. This is a must try spot for anyone looking to grab a good meal and fun environment in South Beach.
