Uhlandstraße 49, 10719 Berlin, Germany, Berlin
On a busy tree-lined street 4 minutes' walk from a U-Bahn station, this relaxed hotel is also a 15-minute walk from Kurfürstendamm, a lively shopping and dining boulevard, and 5 km from the Berlin Wall. The colorful rooms offer flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi (surcharge), sitting areas and ceiling fans (no air-conditioning). Upgraded rooms add extra beds, and some include lounge areas with sofas. Kids 12 and under stay at no cost with an adult.Parking is available for a fee, as is breakfast served in a trendy dining room. There’s also a stylish lobby bar.
We stayed here during the summer of 2019 and absolutely loved it - definitely one of the best hotels weve stayed in, so much so that Im staying here again during our visit next year! The staff were all really friendly, and even recommended some places for us to visit that we hadnt visited before. All of the hotel areas were spotless, and the hotel is in a lovely area thats away from the main tourist areas, with several bars/restaurants within walking distance for evening meals and relaxing etcThe hotel is around 5-10 minutes walk to the closest S-Bahn and U-Bahn station so its within a great location for exploring all the other areas of Berlin too!
Lovely hotel and beautiful restaurant downstairs but needs work when it comes to the rooms. This review is for the regular room. The design is beautiful, quirky, smaller size but everything is there that you need other than a mini-fridge which would be nice. The main issue was the rooms were EXTREMELY warm. There is no air conditioning unless you are on the 5th floor. (something we were reminded of every time we asked for help downstairsIts not very helpful to suggest I should have booked a different room in the past...I would prefer a present solution. Now the rooms do have ceiling fans, but they go at the slowest speed and cannot be changed which is even more annoying. I understand it was a hot summer but this is a nice boutique hotel and should be prepared for these sort of things. Or at the very least, have a contingency in terms of actual working fans.Other than the warm sleepless nights, its a beautiful space in a great location and restaurant downstairs has amazing food and drinks.
Its ok, floors Need renovation, only ceiling Fan and no AC! Middle class and clean.
Loved everything about this place. Feels like a hip and cozy appartment rather than a hotel. Comfortable bed, nice living room area and lovely bathroom. Having breakfast at Benedict was a treat each day. As long as you go for breakfast before 9:00 am, no issue getting a table. Rental bikes available at front desk. Close to public transport. Right in the city center, but quiet enough for a good nights rest.
Absolutely loved this hipster vibe hotel!
Had a wonderful stay at the max brown hotel. Warm welcome. Room was nice and cosy, just enough for me travelling alone. Good shower.
This hotel has a great vibe! The Max Brown is THE best hotel in Berlin! Its Charlottenburg location is a plus, within walking distance to the Kudamm. The U Hohenzollernplatz station is only 2 blocks away so you can easily use public transportation during your stay in Berlin. If visiting the shops and restaurants and sites of the Kudamm isnt high on your list, catch a bus to any other part of Berlin on the Kudamm. We stayed at the Max Brown in early March 2022 and felt safe and well taken care of by the friendly, efficient staff. Your room key—not an access card—is kept on a heavy brass keychain so they suggest you drop in the box at the front desk when venturing out during your stay, so we did. The front desk is open 24 hours. The Benedict restaurant is located in the lobby and serves breakfast all day! We got fresh coffee and croissants every morning to eat in our room from the lobbys bakery counter. We had a tasty breakfast for lunch on our first day in Berlin. Our room was comfy and so was the bed! The showers water pressure was excellent! Theres an elevator, so we didnt need to walk our luggage up 5 flights to our room. Free wifi. Fluffy white towels. Room safe for our passport. I highly recommend staying at the Max Brown during your visit to Berlin (my favorite city)!
Thanks to your hotel for welcoming Ukrainians! Thank you for the comfort and coziness and delicious breakfasts!🙏🏼❤️
Very nice and comfortable hotel. I spent an unforgettable five nights there. Тhe room was clean, the bed large and pleasant.I liked the basketball hoop with the ball the most in the room. Good idea!
Small room but excellent location
Thank you for providing support for people from Ukraine!!I stayed in hotel for 1 night, that was super comfortable. The room was nice and staff was kind and friendly.Breakfast that you offered was just awesome!!
They lovingly hosted a family of four Ukranian refugees the first five nights they were here. ❤️
Great place, great people. Sincerely wish you prosperity and good luck, you are the best. Thank you for your support!❤️
Room was 1st Class, Staff were brilliant and Breakfast awesome. All staff, including Management were informative and helpful. Despite being busy they all had time for you. Perfect hotel.Special mention for Claudia on Reception who was outstanding. A star.
+Beautiful Hotel in retro Style, friendly staff, clean room- entrance through Bistro, loud noises from the corridor, if you want to eat in the Bistro, you have to get up early, there are no privileges or reservations for hotel guests.
My only gripe was that the rug in my room reeked of cheese, but not the type you want to eat, more a cheesy feet smell. I wasnt sure at first if it was the previous occupants of the room, it could have been, or if it was the natural fibres of the rug. In either case the smell lingered for 4 days even though we left the window open during the duration of our stay. Oh, and we werent supplied with fresh towels on our final night.Other than that, the hotel is well decorated, the staff were lovely and theres a fantastic all day restaurant within the hotel.
Fantastic stay here with my partner. The larger rooms are on the top floors with lovely private balconies. Great design aesthetic! Also, most important: bed is very comfortable. However a couple critiques:- Hygiene rules seemed a bit lax during COVID times.- There are limits in amenities that I expected from any hotel with a restaurant. It’s hours are no longer 24/7 and they do not provide room service.
Very nice boutique hotel within walking distance of Kurfurstendamm. Superfriendly staff and a warm welcome when we checked in. Also the rooms are very nicely decorated. We stayed in the suite and loved it. Nice detail, you can by the LP records in the room. The breakfast in the restaurant downstairs is amazing. I would definately recommend this place for a city trip to Berlin
Lovely hotel. Wish we stayed there for longer. Small but perfectly appointed room. Fantastic coffee and bakery on site. Staff were lovely too.
Nice place, spacious rooms, lots of windows. Street view. The lobby is located within a 24-hour Benedict Restaurant. recommended
Nice boutique style hotel. Friendly staff for checkin.Clean and comfortable. Has a restaurant/breakfast place downstairs which is a separate business and is very popular
Such good value for a high end little place, in a delightful neighbourhood too. I booked the smallest room as just staying for business but it was exquisitly designed so space and style. Staff are so so friendly and Benedicts is on site for breakfast too. Will definitely be back.
Really great boutique hotel and not far from the city centre. Its the in place for Sunday breakfast so get in early. Helpful staff and simple rooms.
This hotel can only be described as modern/hip yet very cosy and personal. I loved my stay here and wish I could stay longer. This hotel is appropriate for all ages. The staff is lovely and very helpfull. We had the warmest welcome. Check-in was quick, we got a map and could ask for directions. The front-desk staff were happy to help and knew a lot about the city.At the front of house area was a seeting area, a lovely bakery and 24 hour breakfast restaurant Benedict. Our room was very pretty. Lovely bathroom with good and plenty amendities. The bed was very comfy. Both me and my boyfriend had trouble getting up in the morning because of that. The hotel is in a beautiful location, easily accesable by public transport.Would love to stay again!
Amassing Hotel, had the most warm and personal welcome from the always helpful staff. Well designed rooms and for sure the best beds in town! Will definitely stay here again (soon!).
In overall I would not recommend it. There are better located hotels which offer more comfort in Berlin. Very disappointing hotel. We booked a medium room but just got a small room since they have a broken water pipe at the moment. At arrival the couple in front us got a free upgrade. As compensation we only got a free coffee which is a joke. The staff made no efforts for us to feel comfortable despite us not getting what we paid for.- The small rooms just have enough space for your suitcase.- The bathroom is too small and the toilet smelled of urine- No extras in the room, not even a mini bar.- Hotel entrance with a bakery and a very popular restaurant. Waiting time for the restaurant where you also can have your breakfast is one hour, also for hotel guests.- No sitting opportunities in the lobby apart from the restaurant, where as I already mentioned you have the waiting list (up to one hour)- One bedcover for two people.- Staff not helpful+ Location is ok, with the bus 5min to Kurfuerstendamm.
This hotel was amazing, cool atmosphere, clean room with very interesting design. Delicious breakfast with tasty big pancake :))
in one word, disappointing... it was freezing cold, the heating in our room did not work, they tried to fix it but the fix did not work, they changed our room, that rooms heating also did not work, no more rooms that night, next night they changed us again and finally heating worked, the only plus side to this hotel is that they allow you priority to the breakfast restaurant on site, which is highly recommended and has very long waiting line.
A well decorated hole in the wall. Small rooms no storage space. Lovely service. Sufficient for one night with no luggage.
I booked this hotel as a birthday get-away for my boyfriend (13-16 Dec 18and we were not disappointed. Breakfast at Benedict was amazing (consistently fast and delicious), and the hotel is in a great location. Free wifi was very handy, buses were easy to catch to the main city centre, and the room was very comfortable and warm. I have deducted 1 star for the noise - it got a little noisy in the corridor if people were going in and out of rooms. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
Very comfortable and cozy hotel. Standard rooms are small but clean and fresh. Bed is comfortable. Rooms have kind of artistic vibe. There is very hype 24/7 breakfast restaurant at the first floor that is specifically popular at weekends. Also really nice bakery for coffee and cakes. Location is good - not far from zoo and easy-to-walk distance from ubhan.
Very friendly hotel in Berlin. Hosts the most popular brunch in Berlin but also offers nice bakery in the lobby.
Loved staying at this fun hotel! Staff was amazing and helpful. Rooms small but decorated nicely/quirky. Restaurant serves really good food and was very crowded much if the time.Great location. Highly recommend!
We stayed here in mid-August 2018. The staff is amazing! Their staff made us feel like we’re the most important in the world because they are proactively helpful, friendly and by paying attention to details, the service is personal. Our extra large room was very nice and clean.Only reason I hesitated to give 5 stars, is the prebooked breakfast in Benedict. Unfortunately you get more limited menu and for example juices are not included in the price so you need to pay extra. The hotel and especially the staff earns 5 stars but the prebooked breakfast doesn’t.We will definitely stay here every time visiting Berlin!Ps. I’d like to express my deepest thank you to all of you at the reception who helped me to get the painting I bought covered so I was able to get it home safely. Thank you ♥️
Great place to stay not to far to walk to center. Clean comfortable room. Long wait for table for breakfast as locals use it so must be good
Nice hotel, creative interior. Basic room is small, but everything (exept mini-fridgeis there. Clean bathroom with a really cool look through window to the room. Easy to get to Tiergarten. Breakfast downstairs at Benedict is great, would be nice if it is in some way more connected to hotel guests.
Easily one of the coolest hotels Ive ever stayed at, very reasonably priced and a 24/7 breakfast place is always convenient. Rooms are beautiful and this was by far the best place I have ever stayed in Berlin. Good location and accommodating staff. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Very good service. Benedict cafe bakes their own bread on the premises. Good coffee. Quirky, youthful ambience. Reasonably priced.
Very bad customer experience. Despite booking 3 months in advance through the hotel website and stating that I would arrive late in the evening, I did not get the room category I had paid for (yes they charge 100% of hotel fare upon bookingand was downgraded without any explanation (and barely any apology). I was offered a rebate corresponding to the price difference between my booking and the room I eventually got (well, this is the bare minimum they could offer!and after discussing with the staff I ended up with an (allegedly generousextra rebate corresponding to a mere 7% of total fare... Not the customer experience I was aming for. Will definitely investigate alternative propositions when coming back to Berlin.
Shower was horrible. Had to figure out how to fix it in place myself and as I did water got all over the floor. Very poorly designed. Staff is very nice and helpful though and Benedict, the restaurant on the ground floor was delicious. "Welcome Bag" just had a few maps inside. Good to have the maps but if youre going to waste the paper on a bag you should throw something a little more substantial in there. Otherwise just hand me the maps with no bag.
The shower is too small and water gets all over the floor; they give you a "gift bag" with a map of the city and they might as well save the paper the bag wastes and provided just the map. Otherwise concierges were lovely and very helpful and the location is within walkable distance to the gay area with bars and leather shops.
Great stay for short break to Berlin. Very modern clean and tidy. Staff extremely helpful. Breakfast superb remember to get there before 8am before it gets packed out with locals. Zoological Garden nearest train station 15min walk for getting about.
We stayed for one night at Max Brown KuDamm and I can only say very good things. The staff welcomed us super friendly and introduced us to the hotel and explained everything to us. As soon as we entered the room we absolutely fell in love with stunning design and all the little details the hotel room provide for their guests. A special highlight was the record player and basketball ring. We had plans for the afternoon which we cancelled to stay in the room , enjoy a drink from the bar, listen to some music and shoot some hoops. The room felt like a super comfy playground for adults and we probably would have never left if wouldnt have to.The only thing that we didnt quite like was the coffee and breakfast at "Benedict" (The breakfast cafe bellow the hotel). We both are big coffee and breakfast lovers and I have to say that the coffee tasted horrible and the breakfast/food wasnt as high quality as the rest of the hotel.
Very relaxed hotel clean good service . Cool staff if you dont now what to do ask them there are things to do in berlin next to al the touristie things and the staff nows the spot to go to instead and wil make your stay in berlin way more intresting. Like a abandoned theme park i dident now about very freaky and cool to see. And benedict is open 24/7 thise is a restaurant you need to check out.
Amazing hotel. This has ruined hotels in Europe for me and the wife. Amazing decor and great 24/7 breakfast restaurant on site. The bakery in the lobby is a nice touch although a little expansive even with the 20% Guest discount.
Great hotel located in an excellent neighborhood. Chic, strong water pressure, soft linens, and welcoming staff. The breakfast is excellent. The only major problem is that there are no air conditioners in the rooms. It gets very hot in the summer.
THE place to stay in West Berlin!Modern hip with cosy rooms, fantastic beds, great spirit and delightful breakfast! It will give you the positive energy you need to explore the city.
Great Boutique hotel. Decor is very industrial chic, was pleasantly surprised to find a record player in the room with records. Rooms was smaller than usual, but manageable. Bathroom was decorated nicely and clean but a little on the small side. We did opt for a small room though.
The hotel is placed in a very strategic position since it is close to bus and Metro stations. However, in these days, it is literally under construction with men at work inside and outside the building. Noise since early morning, dusty room, elevator out of service (I was blocked in for several minutespush me to give this evaluation. Sad experience.
Recently spent 3 nights at the Hotel Domus, very nice hotel, pleasant single room with en suite & TV, free Wi-Fi. Well situated for transport & centre. Breakfast of the usual cold meats, eggs, fruit etc., I found the staff helpfull & efficient, all round good value for a budget hotel.
