The most beautiful structure in Nakhchivan region is Mausoleum in Qarabaglar, which is UNESCO heritage site. The single tower structure is mausoleum. Locals tell that it is mausoleum of Qutui Khatoon who was a mongol princess of around 12th century and was wife of Halaku Khan, the mongol ruler. Underground burial chamber is accessible. She is burried here probably because she passed away while passing through here (going to Iran or Turkey may be).The other structure with 2 minarets, is a museum right now. According to attendant, originally it used to be medressah, a school. One can go on top of one of 2 minarets by climbing narrow stairs. From top, the view of mausoleum is amazing.

Историко-архитектурный памятник средних веков в сел. Гарабаглар Кенгерлинского района. В архитектурный комплекс кроме мавзолея входят два минарета и здание для богослужения. Минареты построены предположительно в конце ХII-начале ХIII вв. Связывающий минареты портал относится к ХIV в. На фризе высечено имя Гути-хатун жены Хулаку-хана из династии Ильханидов, что дает основание предполагать, что мавзолей построен в честь Гути-хатун.

Very historical and inspirational place. Strongly recommend to climb to the top of the two minarets - towers for religious calling place. Very friendly staff.
