Mauri Restaurant - Italian restaurant in Kuta, Indonesia
Amazing service. We went here as a group and had a pleasant time. The food was delicious and the ambience was perfect too. Thank you for letting me have a taste of the ravioli.
In our 2 weeks in Bali, this was the worst restaurant & extremely disappointing for a fine dining place. I went in mid Sept. The venue is nice. No dish stood out. The pastas were towards the bottom end of the spectrum and were too thick. We ordered extra foie gras but it was the worst foie gras Ive ever eaten to date & I couldnt finish it.At this price (similar to Sydney price!), you can definitely get better food in Bali. It was 3,100,000 IDR.
One of the best fine dining restaurants in Bali.Chef Maurizio is very creative and talented which reflects on his dishes. Everything on the menu was delicious with a tinge of delightful surprise. My fave is the egg custard and the caviar taco. Our only suggestion and note is we upgraded our menus to wagyu (additional costbut we were a quite disappointed of the portion size. But other than that, everything is great and the service was spectacular. All the servers are very accommodating and helpful. Definitely worth every penny!
Had an amazing multi course meal at Mauri. Classy joints like this one can get super pretentious - but Mauri was not like that at all. Will go back when I’m back in town.
We enjoyed our dinner so much and loved the food and services. Applause to the chef. Your gourmet food and the beautiful presentation brought us back to Italy and recalled all our sweet memories.
The "Best"in Seminyak,Bali ....I ❤️ love this Restaurant from the beginning of dinner to the end. Consistently good, every single time I step foot in.... And all the little extras that they add to your dinner are amazing( they are complimentary).Even at the end if you didnt order dessert, you get a complimentary dessert its such a nice touch... It has to also be one of the cleanest restaurants, from watching them in the kitchen which is such a treat. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. The décor of the restaurant is stunning. The waiters and waitresses speak excellent English and are very classy. And if youre there at the end of the night a lot of times the owner/chef, Will come and ask you how your meal was and have a chat with you about Italy😊Hoping that they start to open up in other parts of Bali even in other parts of the world🙏🌏
You have to come here, absolutely mind blowing!! The food+ambience is everything. Great service and great photo spots. Will def visit every time we come to Bali!
Likely one of the best restaurants in Bali, hands down. Dont heed the naysayers. The menu is typically refined, well executed, and features top notch ingredients without being excessive.Ive come here for multiple brunches and dinners and can safely say Mauris team puts out consistently delicious and inspired menus. Service is impeccable and all the staff are genuinely lovely and always super helpful.Book ahead of time for sure, and give the discovery menu a try if youre doing dinner!
Easily the best place I’ve eaten to in my entire life. Absolutely off it’s head. Everything was on point from start to finish and the dishes all had a unique pov. Service was exceptional.
Personally I feel as if this place is over hypedI was super excited to dine here and it fell shortWe opted to choose from the Al a carte menu - maybe this is where we went wrong. The food was extremely well presented, creative and showed innovation, the over all taste of the food was nice but there wasn’t a wow factor when it came to flavourWe came here to celebrate a birthday which was noted on the booking, unfortunately this went unacknowledged. Over all The staff were super kind and knowledgeable
This restaurant is something else. The waitresses were very nice and helpful. All foods we ordered were just top notch 👍
This was the last dinner of 5 of highly ranked restaurants in Bali. It takes the cake.Truly excellent from the service to the food. Huge thoughtfulness put in. We shared both tasting menus, one of which has an additional course. We were surprised to get two new plates so that we could share the additional course.Ambience was wonderful, and the personal attention truly made our night very special indeed. Big hats off to the entire team.Impressive is a good summary of Mauri.
This is the most amazing restaurant; my partner booked Mauri for my birthday dinner and we cant stop talking about how beautiful everything was. From the decor to the food, attention to detail, alcohol pairings down to the customised cutlery for each dish, Mauri truly is an incredible fine dining experience. Its worth going all out & getting the set menu with cocktail/wine pairings, you wont regret it. Thank you SO much Chef Maurizio for an unforgettable world class experience.
Came for a Sunday brunch because of the reputable chef. For 800k you are entertained for three hours with his skills and high quality ingredients. Everything is served beautifully and the service is not disappointing too. Arguably, it came down to be the best valued brunch in Bali and not a bad decision to try.
A 5 STAR experience for our anniversary dinner! To sum up our 6 days of dining experience in Bali, Mauri is top of the rank for us. Service is great and we were served countless complimentary appetisers and dishes. The beef tartare (on complimentaryis very good that I hope it’s on menu the next time I revisit again.Their wagyu steak has to be the super star for us. At this price point of IDR600k+ , we feel that it’s worth the try! In Bali, we have tried many other restaurants’ wagyu that is far inferior vs Mauri and instead they cost even more than Mauri’s wagyu.Recommend to try their Tiramisu as a staff would perform a demo on how they finish preparing the tiramisu before serving us :)
Great Italian restaurant with an ambitious Italian chef. Prices are fair and quality of food is high. We especially loved the Parmesan ravioli in broth.
When I went here I had the six course truffle menu as well as some extras like the ravioli and I have to say that at the time of this review this is probably my favourite restaurant in Asia. The food was dreamlike. The starters didn’t stop coming and it was amazing. Got to talk to the head chef as well and he’s a really nice and smart guy. Highly recommend this place
In this age of fine dining, gastro-pubs and gastronomic adventures it is quite rare to gasp as you bite into your meal. At Mauri, the gasps, like they do on hit radio, kept on coming. We chose to eat a la carte rather than the tasting menu and yet still ate, what seemed to be, 10 courses. The various amuse bouches were exceptional, especially the cheese mousse with egg foam served in an eggshell, and the mortadella on top of focaccia (probably the best lump of bread I have ever eaten). For mains, the seafood spaghetti was pretty delicious, but the onion ravioli was entirely next level. The pasta was thin, fresh, al dente, delicate and delightful, the onion puree was the perfect balance of onion sweetness and concentrated flavour. Onion dishes usually are overpowered by the onion, which is why I avoid ordering them, but this was perfectly contrasted by an intense, aged parmesan that brought on what should have been my biggest gasp. That exaltation was for the broth. According to the waiter (what impeccable service!the broth was made from onions but it flooded my mouth with oxtail, beef cheek and fatty abundance. I would have paid just to drink that broth. Combining the broth and the ravioli made me swoon.By this stage we were reeling in a post-climactic lethargy and declined dessert. What we received was another amuse bouche and petit fours that took us closer to heaven than any meal has a right to. The pralines, rectangular prisms of white chocolate encasing a dark chocolate mousse, summed up everything perfectly; we were treated to another surprise, which should have been expected, but no-one makes an after dinner morsel this amazing.
We had dinner here 2nd July, following a recommendation. I can’t recommend this place more. The food is genuinely amazing. We ordered entree and mains, rather than the tasting menu. I could eat that parmigiana ravioli for ever. The whole experience was wonderful - good service, lovely restaurant and topped by complementary amuse bouche and petit fours. Will definitely be back.
Innovative Italian cuisine deserving a Michelin star at least! Super fair price for everything you pay for. Paying homage to chef’s puglia’s roots, each dish was executed to perfection. We opted for the 5 courses menu for $70, and on top of that it also includes 4 amuses bouche, 4 petit four & a limoncello at the end. Highest level of service from front of house, and what a treat with the delicious deconstructed tiramisu made in front of us! It has to be the best Italian in Bali, as recommended by all our local friends.
Very good food, great decor. Will 100% return before my trip is overThe beef tartar was delicious as well as the onion soup based ravioli !
Went for dinner on Friday night for two people. The venue is beautiful; particularly downstairs. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable demonstrating the consistent high level of local hospitality. We chose the signature menu with matched wines. Unfortunately I couldnt eat the tuna so asked for it to be switched out. They offered me an alternative lobster course WITHOUT the lobster or to pay extra to have the lobster switch. Ive never experienced having to pay an additional charge for a dietary switch before. When escalated to the chef he offered me the scallops instead but we had to pay 50k more. It really felt like they were trying to get every rupiah out of you which isnt how I want to feel at a high end dining experience. The theatre around some of the dishes like the tirmisu was fun but didnt make up for the food being just OK. A stand out dish however was the ravioli with onion consume that was sublime. Shame there were only 3 pieces of it.Ultimately the food was not worth the 3.5million price tag. If I was forced to go back I would just order the ravioli. There is such amazing food in some incredible venues. This is not one of them.
Excellent food. Friendly staff. Chef personally interacts for feedback . Amazing place
Booked Mauri for our anniversary dinner. Ordered one discovery tasting menu and one signature tasting menu. Food was exceptional. Each dish is nice. We got a chocolate mousse as an complimentary dessert from the restaurant. The mousse is very smooth. Would come again if we revisit Bali.
We did a tasting menu for vegetarians and we absolutely loved it!The restaurant is beautiful and we got great seats at the chefs table. Each course was so well plated and tasted delicious! We would highly recommend this for anyone visiting the area!
Currently one of my favorite restaurant in bali. Came for the 15 course Sunday brunch and left hugely impressed. Love that they cook Italian dishes with contemporary twist, yet still retain the same spirit of cooking (simplicity and fresh ingredients). Also love the selection of balinese cheese.
There were two chef’s tasting menu: Signature and Discovery Tasting Menu, I opted for Discovery and asked whether they can adjust the menu to be gluten free. To my surprise, they were able to accommodate my dietary restriction and make adjustment.Despite the portion looking small, the entire course was very filling. The amuse bouche, main course, and desserts were 👌🏻
This is a fantastic and beautiful Italian restaurant! There are 2 tasting menus available as well as a la carte items. I ordered the "Discovery Tasting Menu" (with wine pairing, obviously! 🤣), and highly recommend you do the same!! 🤤🤤I really loved the scallops, the swordfish belly, and the tenderloin... But honestly, everything was amazing! Im told this menu changes fairly often, so theres always surprises. ☺️👍Ill definitely visit again before I leave Bali. Im looking forward to it! ☺️👍👍👍👍👍👍
A newly opened Italian Restaurant that is not to be missed. Had a pleasure trying their tasting menu and my oh my it was soooo gooood. It was beautiful, tasty, me want more every time I finished one dish.
It was a quite good experience. However not all the food is delicious. We tried their set menu & pasta. I dont think this is worth the price. The service was very good. The best thing that we like is the tiramisu (this one is a must try - very light and good)
Good Italian food. We had the Easter tasting menu, love the scallops with beetroot. Overall it’s a good experience. However, the price is a overpriced for what you get compare to other fine dining restaurants in Bali.
One of the best tasting experience I had ever. Every dishes are prepared meticulously. Each of it tasted amazing.
The whole experience exceeded my expectation.Id tried a few of fine dining restaurant in Bali and theyre usually overrated. Its definitely NOT the case for Mauri.I was here on their 3rd anniversary in November and tried the tasting menu (5 courses).Portion and proportion are good as you get a lot of varieties and courses.Foods are tasty and presented beautifully.Price is reasonable for a fine dining place and tasting menu service. All staff are attentive and professional. The head came to our table and made sure that we had a great dinner experience.Overall, Mauri is highly recommended, especially to those looking for a fine dining experience in Bali.
So hard to get a table at this place but the food tasted really good! Creative plating and generous servings of side dishes. Shout out to our server Bayu for going above and beyond to make us feel at home 😊
Nice place, great services, all foods are so amazing tasty. And there are so much compliment from appetizer to dessert. Will come back again
Celebrating my wife birthday party, we managed to get a table at 9 PM, just a right time to have some supper.I managed to have a long chat with I Putu Surya the sommelier, he has a broad knowledge of wine and we exchange some views of wine industry, winery and climate change that effect the quality of wine. Our food is delish and yummy. The wine that I order is also a great companion.Such a wonderfull and memorable time.
The best luxury place to have dinner, lots of courses, millions of compliments for each order, delicious food, adorable service, lovely interior, beautiful people! Highly recommended to feel yourself like you are somewhere in Europe, in Italy. At least all people beautifully dressed )))no beach shorts and other flip-flops))
Always a must-visit! So much creativity, love their ambition to serve.Their plating is just another level. Food quality is beyond expectation. I recommend to do wine pairing
Excellent fine dinning experience, glad to know the standard of the food still the same before and during covid. Amazing!! Absolutely will come again and again. Genuine staffs attitude w knowledgeable skill & service. Perhaps for my next time visit not to serve the menu too fast, we do enjoy our conversation during eating but our tummy needed time to digest all those foods 😊 well, one of my favorite place for sure, see you again soon ❤️
Amazing dining experience, definitely need to book in advance as the place is normally full. The staff are also very attentive.Taste is amazing, food presentation is good too.Price may look rather steep, but I think its worth it because we can feel and appreciate the efforts poured by the chefs in creating these food.
Oh I love this place!Just that were seated right under the glass roof making it super hot and humid in the restaurant, barely feel the aircon.Food was top notch, amazing service, friendly chef owner - and a valet service.Price wise is a bit steep, but well its Seminyak, cant complain ;).
Was a great dining experience. We tried their seasonal set menu & we loved all of them! Plus, they have amazing services & nice ambience🥰
This restaurant offers one of the best fine dine in experiences. The foods were carefully prepared and delicious especially the main course steak with foie gras was tender and melted once it slipped to your mouth. This is one of the restaurants that you must visit while you are in Bali.
Had Christmas Eve dinner here and was not disappointed. Had a seat overlooking the kitchen, which I enjoyed. Each of the dishes was artfully made. The chef was really friendly, really nice, and a great addition to our experience. Will definitely come back. The wagyu was the star of the show though. Almost ordered an extra ala cart portion had I not already been full!
I went for Brunch and I am 100% satisfied! Very good the brunch menu with enough choices always prepared fresh from the kitchen, a very attentive service, always ready to assist you discretely. Cheese and dessert selection served from the Chef and the Pastry Chef! I will definitely go back to Mauri Restaurant for another brunch or for a fine dining dinner. The place is clean and they use all the protection to follow the CoVid 19 protocol.
Living in Europe really sets a high standard for me when it come to Italian cuisine. So if you ask me is this an OK place for fine dining, I might say yes. But is this a good Italian restaurant, then definitely a no. If I totally forget about the Italian label, it was quite a joyful dining experience, but the credits go to the excellent service and nice ambience, unfortunately there wasnt any outstanding dish that I can remember. For Bali standard, this is a very expensive restaurant, so I definitely expected more.
Once your step into the restaurant you sense an aura of a high end restaurant and you will not be disappointed. Always willing to accommodate your request, be it on your diet restrictions or peculiar needs. Tip top service standards on par with many top class establishment but with much friendlier prices.I found some wines which are not so common but on offer here & they were excellent with the meal we had.Dishes comes with a set menu which you have an option to choose from 2. Influence of Mediterranean is starking in the concept & execution of most dishes, which we enjoyed. Thanks chef Maurizio. Hope to see ya again.
Everything in this restaurant is a feast for the eyes. From the interiors and decor, to the food and drinks, and the delightful amuse bouche that they serve. Impeccable service from beginning to end. Dishes are delicately prepared and fresh.Make no mistake, this is fine Italian dining so take your time to fully enjoy the experience. Come here for a date night or an evening out with friends who love to dine as much as you do. And for fine dining of this quality - prices are incredibly reasonable.
This restaurant is the benchmark for good service and quality in the area. What was served to us there was excellent craftsmanship, of the best quality and very tasty. Italian flair under the Bali sun in a very tasteful ambience. At the end, the chef personally came to the tables and inquired whether everything was in order. That was it! In Europe it would be a Michelin star level.
A wonderful experience, a reliable referral for any discerning foodie.Anything we tried, the pumpkin soup, the raw tuna, the pasta, the fish of the day, literally every dish exceeded our expectations. An Italian fine dining with clear French nouvelle cuisine influences, what a unique combination. The service was professional, relaxed but attentive and informal, something we appreciated so much. The ambience is as pleasant as it can be and the interior design speaks for itself. It was never meant to be cheap but we felt our meal and overall experience was worth every rupiah. We are very much appreciative of their generosity, We loved this place and we will go back!
