Subdued lighting and an intimate ambience in a spacious brasserie offering a French/British menu.
Very good, will be going again Very soon.
Lovely place for a quiet Tuesday night outing. They had great specials, and lived up to our high expectations. In the darker corner tables it is quite cosy but the building is open plan and modern. Cheerful smart serving team. Decent wine selection by the bottle - we had Kim Crawford NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Can recommend the mussels and the king scallops starters. The pork tenderloin main was a standout.
Excellent restaurant, good food and atmosphere. Cant fault the staff, attentive but not over bearing.
Lovely food as usual 😋 great staff. We had a lovely evening 😊
We decided that after many years of driving past and thinking we should go there sometime to actually book for my birthday dinner. We had a great night, the food was amazing, the staff faultless and all in all a perfect night out. Cant recommend it enough 👍
Afternoon Tea on a Saturday. Excellent selection of sandwiches, plus cakes and scones, cream and jam.We had 2 children with us and Fruit Shoots were found for them and little ice creams to finish. Staff were attentive, polite, efficient and smartly turned out. Definitely a 5-star event.
Sunday lunch for my birthday but was a bit disappointed, the four of us ordered the trio of meats but the beef was so thin you couldnt really taste it but the pork and gammon was nice. However we only had the roast dinner and a couple of veg sides plus a couple of drinks each and the bill was £160 for the four of us, thats quite expensive at £40 per head for one course and a couple of drinks each
We always have great food when we dine here. Lovely staff, very attentive. Worth every penny.
Play golf with some mates at heartswood .. just nip in the masons for a quick pint . Looks amazing always busy when we go in there , but mot tried the food yet .
beautiful meal for my wifes birthday a proper restaurent with good staff and great food
Always fabulous food. Looks good, tastes good. Very efficient staff. Always a lovely experience
Came for a birthday celebration great atmosphere with lovely staff but food over cooked and under seasoned very disappointing
A lovely place to dine. Excellent food and wine. Cannot recommend enough.
Great service good food and very reasonable prices
Went for a work function staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious
Unfortunately not up to normal Masons standard. Attended for a birthday celebration and the set menu had some items missing. The starters were very small and bunching a load of prawns together the size of a ramekin dish with some salad leaves does not constitute a prawn cocktail... two tiny mozzarella sticks.... really? Weve been here plenty if times before and it wasnt like this. Mains were undesirable and once again beef brisket was literally a tiny cube of beef plonked on some mash. The steak was half full of gristle but my son didnt want to return it as wed already started eating . The dessert once again tiny, half a peach sliced in half with a tiny bit of ice cream? The portion sizes dont reflect the price! We were expecting the pianist as usual but the place was virtually empty only four tables... I get its mid week but it felt like they were looking to close and go home... no ambience whatsoever but top notch prices! We have always saved Masons for special occasions as normally its lovely... unfortunately times have very much changed and this really ruined a birthday. We wont be returning.
The food was amazing and lovely and hot, we will definitely be going back very soon x
We went to Masons to celebrate my brothers 60th birthday. There were 12 of us in our party and the food and service was impeccable. Lovely evening celebrating.
We recently visited Masons for lunch on Mothers Day and had a very enjoyable meal. The restaurant was extremely busy, but we had an amazing young lady called Olivia looking after us. Nothing was too much trouble and she always had a lovely big smile on her face. Will be returning again soon!
Absolutely beautiful had the chef pick my starter as there was just too many choices and honestly I would never have picked the dish that turned up but so glad it did. The food was excellent and the service was really good too. Lovely to have a pianist playing too whilst eating but so tempted to play too 😜
Had a wonderful meal food was outstanding. Will definetly go again
Enjoyed a late Sunday lunch with friends excellent roast wonderful cauliflower cheese side order and great service . We eat there regularly and its always very good
The menu has become rather ordinary. Distinct lack of the dishes that made Masons stand out in the past. Where is the game ? Rabbit, pheasant, curried pigeon ? There is also a deterioration in the knowledge of serving staff. Shame.
This restaurant was very clean, the food was a bit small in the portions. All had a nice time. Didnt push us to leave. The dinner was for 17 people and reasonable on the price.
Good food well presented and pleasant surroundings. Have always had good meal here.
We called into Masons Restaurant as we used to do , to purchase Vouchers for our family for their Christmas presents, this was for a substantial amount, we were told very rudely by the Manager that we have to now print them off from our Computer! I explained to him that our printer was not working, he then told me to email the vouchers to our family and as an extra surprise we could choose the time of day that they could receive them, I explained that these family members are coming to our house to exchange Christmas gifts this weekend, he really didn’t care just said I would have to email them!! As it happens one family member is too old to use his Computer now…..this made no difference to Masons they obviously have no Customer Service or care saying all Restaurants are not doing Vouchers now everything is on line.We promptly left Masons and called three other Restaurants in Billericay who still offer this service, so we have now bought our gifts from them.
We were a large group and the food was delicious as always. The serving staff were attentive but not intrusive. Im afraid that paying the bill for a group is always complicated and it was no different on this occasion. There was much confusion for everyone which was rather stressful after such a lovely festive lunch
I visited Masons recently with some friends and we had a wonderful meal. The experience was enhanced by the friendly staff, especially our waitress for the evening Olivia Rooke. She managed to be attentive without being intrusive and always had a smile on her face. I would certainly recommend anyone to visit.
Been a while since we last enjoyed a visit. Received a warm welcome on arrival, escorted to our table and introduced to our charming young restaurant service staff. Interesting choice of dishes on the menu - our group of seven all chose different dishes and we were all delighted with our delicious well cooked and presented food. As we enjoyed our evening, staff were always on hand to look after our needs. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, cant wait to go again. Well done everyone at Masons! Perfect!
First visit to Masons and my friend and I loved it. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. Well definitely go back.
The food looked amazing as you can see and the waitresses were very nice and polite. However the taste was below average and the staff didn’t have the training of who to pour the wine for first, which side of the knife should face the plate, etc. If they claim to be fine dining they need to work on that. The pianist was also banging on the piano. The atmosphere was nice though and ample parking. The toilets could be fresher and nicer too. We paid 50 pounds per head for two courses plus one cocktail which is not cheap for Brentwood.
Had the set menu on a Thursday evening. Good quality, reasonable price.
Absolutely brilliant lovely food service wonderful. All staff very attentive without being over the top, a perfect balance.
Lovely food and atmosphere, the only thing I was not impressed with was the Mason bruschetta starters , it was just half of a mini toasted baguette, the ones you get from sainsburys, with normal sliced tomato and a slice of melted goat cheese. The mains of steak medallion , and also duck breast was amazing. The dessert 🍨 of strawberry stack shortbread was also very good.
Delicious food and excellent service. Being coeliac I felt very well looked after throughout the evening and there were many gluten free options for me to enjoy across all three courses. Would highly recommend and well definitely be back!
Well presented but bland in taste. Chef needs to taste as he goes along. Wild garlic you are kidding me Have you been looking for truffles as well on your walks. Sounds good but very few restaurants in Britain poduce savoury food. Gordon Ramsay would agree with me.
Went for a staff leaving do so there was 20 of us. The food and service was excellent, I couldnt fault it. We wasnt rushed and had our own private area of the restaurant
Amazing wine selection and food. Our waitress was Evie, staff was very polite and attentive. Excellent service. Cant wait to be back.
Lovely dinner celebrating mums birthday with family. Our waiter Bradley was excellent, he was very polite, tentative and friendly. Great atmosphere with live pianist and lovely food.
As our return to a vaguely normal life it was lovely to visit one of our favourite restaurants. The food as always was delicious and beautifully presented. What is always impressive about Masons is the staff - Jay greeted us in his totally professional and welcoming way!! Lovely to be served by Luke who has obviously been taught well.
We ordered for collection owing to lockdown and had a brilliant experience. The food was brought to our car and loaded in for us, all very securely packaged. Everything was hot and survived to journey home well. The food itself is fantastic, as good as it would be eating in - its been such a treat to be able to enjoy restaurant quality food in these times!
Lovely evening the night before teir 4 came into place. Food was excellent we had their 2 course deal very reasonable service was OK on this occasion has been a lot better at other times. What let the service down on the night was taking longer to get drinks and I had steak I had to ask for a steak knife when my meal came up and was told by the waiter that he would once he had finished serving the main meals ok so I waited nothing after about 4 to 5 minutes I had to shout at one of the other staff if they could get me a knife by this time I had nearly eaten all the chips. Not impressed.
We enjoyed another superb dinner tonight at Masons. Excellent value for money, well presented and tasted wonderful. We could not fault the food at all, there is so much choice, catering for a real variety of both taste and dietary requirements. Whatever you do make sure you leave room for dessert the bread and butter pudding is to die for! There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere in this restaurant, the staff (who were all wearing masksare very professional, but at the same time friendly. You are made to feel very welcome, and that actually your custom in important. Under the current COVID restrictions, we felt really comfortable, with tables placed a good distance apart. We will definitely return when the restaurant re-opens after the latest rounds of lockdown. If you are looking to eat excellent food, in lovely surroundings, at a fair price, then look no further and book now!
Food was decent and overpriced for portion size. Service was minimal. Seemed like they took covid seriously but then they sat 3 other groups right beside us in an empty restaurant. Didnt make sense.Says on the menu that veggies come with the roast. We ordered 2 roast dishes but only received 1 order of veggies for the table. Not even a carrot for each of us. Misleading.Ordered an Americano coffee and was still served a small cappuccino size coffee.Nothing above or beyond to make this restaurant stand out.
Taking advantage of the #eatouttohelpout scheme today. Great food, great service.
Great Friday evening meal with two special friends. Quality of the service & wine was fantastic. The food fantastic.A nice relaxed atmosphere with a piano player (not too loudin the background.Luke & staff were attentive to any requests.Keep up the good work guys. Thank you.
Great food and atmosphere. Live Pianist playing on the Saturday night. Staff were very friendly. Ordered a gin and the measure seemed to be huge. Not complaining though. Food was brought out quickly and the catered very well for me allergy to dairy.
My wife took me here for lunch with our baby daughter and the service was exceptional. The staff were so accommodating to make sure we enjoyed our lunch. The food was great I enjoyed the three courses along with the selected wine. I will definitely visit again once it re opens.Re visited on Sunday 15/09/19 for a meal in the evening. The food was exceptional once again and also extremely reasonably priced. However opted to have desserts in the garden area as it was too warm in the restaurant which was uncomfortable but nevertheless it didn’t spoil our evening.
Well trained and friendly staff. The food was fabulous. It warrants a re-visit.
Well done masons. A warm welcome from the maitred and staff. A really relaxed pleasant atmosphere, decorated to very high stand with amenities clean and fresh. They managed to cater for a party of twenty with ease attending to ever need effortlessly all food exceptional standard the only criticism would be value for money. But I would recommend to others
