They rip you off! Very important to know is that they have two type of tickets: day tickets and nocturnal tickets. If you want to see the lavaw come later than 16:30, otherwise you will go up and be send back before the evening. Therefore they charged us the proce twice.Besides that a very unprofessional organisation. They do not have a website (only facebookand have arrogant staff. Would never come back. Also important to know is that for whatsoever reason you cannot walk to the volcano top. We could hitchhike thow.

Wow. What a spectacular sight indeed. Drive right up to the car park at the edge of the caldera, and peek right in to see the red glow of magma inside. This is a must see if you are in Granada/Masaya.

One of Nicaraguas most popular Volcanic Parks where you can view one of only six lava lakes in the world. I recommend arriving late in the afternoon around around 3 PM so you can enjoy hiking the trails and the great views. And then when the sun starts setting you can see the red hot lava lake. Allow yourself three hours at this National Park in order to take it all in. Bring plenty of fluids and proper footwear if you are going to hike the trails, visit the caves, horseback riding, visit the museum, and of course the different lookouts around the Santiago Crater.

Its only possible to go there with a tour, your own car or taxi. I wanted to walk or hitchhike. I had someone who would take me both ways but they wouldnt let me. So annoying. Their boss told them not to let anyone pass because they might not find a ride back but I was there at 2pm. I guess they just get payed by some locas tourguide or taxi company. Maybe you can try to bribe them yourself

Hay una gran cantidad de actividades. Además de visitar y ver el cráter, hay senderos interesantes como el de los chocoyos, hay cuevas para recorrer, restaurante, y vistas maravillosas del Lago de Managua, de la laguna de Masaya, etc.

Impresive! You need to visit this place. We event went horseback riding. The active crater is phenomenal. You can feel the heat and heard lava boiling. The landscape views from here are gorgeous.
