Curries, thalis and sweet snacks in colourful chain Indian decorated with tribal, pop and folk art.
The food here was so amazing that I had to write a review. For starters, we got the fried chicken, and lamb sliders which were both delicious. Try these and you won’t regret! For mains, we had the paneer bowl and butter chicken. While the paneer was great, I would try briyani next time. The butter chicken though, wew, tasted amazing with naan.
Very good and friendly service, if you don’t know what to eat ask the staff, they know betterThe best naan I have ever eaten
Food was good but it was the live band playing that made the atmosphere a much more enjoyable experience than just lunch. The tabla player, saxophone and guitar players were excellent. Played a mix of well known jazz tunes, classic songs and some Bollywood music, all instrumental. Ill definitely frequent this establishment if the band is there too.
After a long day walking around London, this restaurant was a lovely place to round off our day & evening 🙂We ordered the butter chicken thali which came with 2 veggi sides, a small portion of daal & yogurt. They ask if you want this with 2 rotiz or a portion of rice, we chose the 2 chapatis. As well as the butter chicken thali, we ordered a portion of Jaipur Golgappa Panjabi wings and black daal. All food was very tasteful, there wasnt anything onnthe thaali that we didnt enjoy and a huge plus point is that all the meat/poultry is halal. The only negative we felt was the price of a portion of 2 chapatis/ bowl of rice, we felt was unnecessarily high, £4 for 2 chapatis! Too much! We ened up spending £12 extra on 4 chapatis and a small bowl of rice.Other than this, I would recommend Masala Zone, (approx 10 minutes walk from Picadilli Stationfor tasty Indian food 😋The only
Polite staff and lovely place. The chances of going wrong with the food selection is close to none
Expensive. Really expensive. Good quality food, amazing service, cool atmosphere and a good place to visit. This was the most expensive restaurant we went to in the UK and turned out to be the most expensive of our trip. This bill worked out to nearly 200 CAD after all was said and done. While the food and everything was amazing, the cost was certainly not amazing. 5 star experience but -1 star because of the cost.
Hard to find this on Soho but once found we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the delicious food from Masala Zone. They have lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well. Staff were nice and friendly. The ambience of the place was very nice as well. The place is very packed and busy generally so best to have a reservation.Extremely good tasty authentic Indian food.We have also been to their Covent garden branch and love both 😋😋
The food was good and the starters were very tasty, but only a few curry mains and no option for how spicy. You’d expect to find things like Chicken Tikka Masala but there is only Butter Chicken which they sell as if it’s the same thing.
Great food! The food was delicious! They have lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well. Staff was nice and friendly. The ambience of the place was very nice as well. The place is very packed and busy generally so best to have a reservation.
Good indian restaurant in London. Definitely it’s not the best indian food I’ve ever take, but it’s good. For London price is correct. We order butter chicken curry and chicken masala and all was good and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful with the order. They charge you 12.5% of service charge if you do not ask otherwise.
We went there on Saturday nightThe restaurant has an amazing Indian vibeAuthentic Indian cuisineThe staff are soo welcoming and helpfulThe food was soooooo delicious and full of flavour and spicesThe butter chicken is A MUSTDefinitely coming back again
Delicious food and spieces and real taste experience! Extreme varistion of flavours, options for non-gluten non-lactose, vegan, etc. Amazing staff, very helpful and friendly :It was not our first time here and we will be back!!
Absolutely nailed the premium Indian dining experience. We came in and were greeted with very polite staff, and food came in at a good pace!Quite a busy place which is a sign of a good restaurant. The seating arrangements are lovely.Amazing lighting and atmosphere, as well as the most delicious food! Also the value for money is insane
Worth every pound. I ate the menu that brings little currys to try out and a drink the waiter recommended. Great experience, great food!
Delicious food and the customer service was very nice with us but the food was a little bit late
Lovely place, really nice food, friendly welcoming staff, and a great ambience.
Extremely good tasty authentic idian food with ultra good service. The mild chili plates are really mild so be not afraid to experiment with spicy food.Chicken tikka masala is to die for! Definitely the first dish to try here
Great Indian restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient despite it being quite busy. We got a table straight away. The food was delicious and decent spice level. The Thali dish not only looked great but was really filling too. The menu wasn’t huge. We also had a coffee before leaving which was surprisingly good too. Recommended
Quite a busy location even for weekdays, you definitely need to book a table. Saw many people be turned away at the door.Service was very good and all our needs were catered to - atmosphere was nice too.I can’t lie and say that it was affordable, it definitely wasn’t - a small bowl of rice for £4.15!The food was decent but not a place I would go back to, especially as it was mostly aesthetic over portion size.
Reliable good Indian food in satisfying portions in Soho. The Thalis are highly recommended. The atmosphere is warm and friendly
The Masala Zone chain are my favourite Indian restaurants ever. Delicious, interesting, beautifully presented dishes, good service, and very reasonable prices. You’d pay twice as much for less good food in fancy restaurants. Can’t recommend them more highly!
Great night out. Fabulous food very tasty.
Fantastic as always. Service brilliant. Consistent quality of food and service.
Beautiful interiors and amazing food options! Great tasting food. Ordered the veg bowl, perfect portion size and amazing taste.Staff is very kind!
Its usually better. Staff is super nice but there is a restriction of options so if you like a side you cant guarantee that you would have it again. Garlic naan was expected to be better
We had a great meal here. The food was very tasty, the service was attentive, and the space was nice too. It can get quite loud inside, so be forewarned of that, and the individual curries dont come with very large portions for the price, but Id certainly return!
My friend took me to this place and we had a great experience, food was tasty beyond expectation and the ambiance was amazing, the staff who attended to us was super friendly and attentive i think James is his name. Overall i would definitely recommend this place
This is my second time in Masala zone, I love their chicken Korma, the amount of dishes is more than enough 😍
We were looking for Indian food and we came here as we had heard of this place. The decor and ambience is great. We ordered two mango lassi to begin with and they were good. But the vegetarian starters and mains were a little disappointing as I expected better. There was a lot of effort on things looking good, they tasted okay. The paneer tikka didn’t seem it was cooked on a grill / tandoor. It felt it was pan fried. The paneer makhanwala gravy seemed a bit bland. The dal was okay ish too. Nothing too great, that would justify the 4+ stars. As an Indian, who cooks a lot of this food at home too, this seemed like a let down of a meal at a restaurant.
Very nice food and service from an authentic Indian restaurant, recommend the 5 selection for two.
Nice service, delicious food.4/5 Chicken biryani4/5 Malai chicken Tikka3/5 Butter chicken3/5 Buttered naan
Great quality Indian food. Must try Jalabi Chaat really unique and amazing. Everything is good but the quantity of food to the price point is not the best. Very little food for the price. But absolutely tasty and clean.
Great food and service, however the portion size is pretty less for the price being charged else everything is excellent.
Good place for Indian Food.Reason for 3 star is because the waiter was not professional i asked him butter chicken but instead i got some cauliflower curry. Then later on they changed it.I was so hungry and my family was not happy.Food portions are small and pricey.
Great Indian food. Very good service and professional staff. Nice setting and atmosphere. Fantastic cocktails! Definitely will be back.
Lets get started....So we have tried 2 other branches of Masala Zone and this is the third. If youre doing shopping on Oxford Street and looking for great indian food then this is your perfect place.Make sure to book online table because there is no guarantee if you walk-in you get a table. We booked Via restaurant online site. The ambience is good, staff is attentive and look after every table equally. For starters we ordered Punjabi wings and those were just super yummy. Loads of happiness. Juicy, spicy and tasty at the same time, must try.In the main course we opted for what Masala Zone is very well known for Butter Chicken with Portion roti and Garlic Naan. Both were super, butter chicken is best in the world. My only repeated suggestion is the quantity of the gravy not chicken. You can increase the gravy quantity a bit.So overall its a heaven for all types of cuisine.
I have had a fair amount of take away meals from this place and they have usually been nice so decided to try in the restaurant. The decor is lovely and the staff are generally pleasant but the price is just not right! The portions are quite small and expensive just for a bit of batter and spice! The heat level was below zero and I don’t know why they bother with the chilli symbols, the vegan options are poor and most isn’t made from scratch because if it was they would take adjustments. Electronic feed back form given to you right away so you can’t even sit and enjoy your meal. Naans are SHOP BOUGHT! Seriously.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the service is excellent. One of the most delicious and cleanest Indian foods in the world, not only in London. Every time I come to London, I come a lot.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food is simply incredible, the flavours are out of this world. I’ve been coming here every time I’m in London for 20 years and is never failed to impress. I recommend the thalis as you get a bit of everything. The atmosphere and the service are also top notch. You won’t be disappointed. Five stars.
The food is absolutely amazing here. I came here with friends for a birthday party and the restaurant is very cozy. The service is great too. Thanks!
I arrived at 2.25 and mentioned that I only want to order 1 item from the menu (street foodthe gentleman with a suit and a pink shirt at the door said sorry we close at 2.30. When I mentioned it’s not 2.30 yet and I only want to order 1 item from the menu he agreed to sit me down. From the second I entered I didn’t like his attitude and his lack of consideration. He then ordered the wrong item from the menu but denied it and said that’s what I said. But I came to have this only item from the menu how could I get it wrong. I have this a 2* because the food was delicious even though there was a tiny bit of topping inside. It was quite insulting but the taste was there. He ruined my experience with his attitude and too little for the price you paid for. The general waiters in black shirts were lovely.
Decent Indian restaurant at SOHO. Authentic Indian flavor and taste. The curries are bit sweeter as per the British palate but still decent. The starters are good. Portions are a bit small. The staff is good and helpful. Make sure you dont go there without making reservations on the weekends. Not sure about the weekdays though. Not a very large selection of alcoholic drinks if you are going only to drink. Overall a decent place.
Went to this place last weekend and our experience was rather okayish. We had high expectations but dont think they were met. The food menu was rather limited and we ordered a cheese dish and a dal. The dal was nice but the paneer dish was tangy and not much flavour to it. We were given a seat quite inside and that area was cold, although after complaining they did turn down the aircon or the fan whatever was dipping down the temperatures there. The washrooms were rather small and very averagely maintained.
Fantastic food! Right from starters that were made to perfection and paired with tangy chutneys. The thali is well balanced, absolutely delicious and good value for money. The service was a bit out of the place as I waited over 30 mins for my food to be served.Would recommend it!
Very few places can strike a balance between modifying Indian food for Western palettes, while keeping it authentic - in my opinion, Masala Zone has been able to champion it!We ordered the Chicken Wings and the Madras Chicken 65 starters and the flavours and quality of chicken was mind-blowing! The third starter, Delhi Jalebi Chaat, was tasty though couldnt relate to the savory jalebis (theyre meant to be sweet!).For mains we had the butter chicken thali which was exceptional! The dal and accompanying veggies were delicious too!The gajar (carrothalwa and rabri dessert is pretty good too - not too sweet, yet super tasty!Looking forward to the next visit! The staff is super friendly too! :)
When the Indian restaurant around the corner failed to have space for our party of five, this place came up trumps! The presentation of food was superb and it tasted very good too. Reasonable prices and good service.
This place was recommended by an Indian friend, so was excited to tried it. Overall the food was great, the portions are a bit small, and the service was great. My fav was the chicken mangalore which packed some heat, the pav bhaji was interesting first time I had it, and the chicken biryanis was nice. Oh also quite liked the cheese naan too
Visited Soho last month with friends and decided to have lunch at Masala Zone. Luckily we didn’t have to book in advance and managed to get a table for 4 as the restaurant was empty. The staff was welcoming and provided good service.Started off with mango lassi and nimbu pani. The mango lassi was rich, creamy, thick and delicious. I did not enjoy the nimbu pani as it had a masala flavour which made it a bit spicy.Moving on to the starters we ordered chilli garlic chips which I enjoyed, cheese balls which were delicious and melted in my mouth, gol goppe which were shockingly expensive for only 4 puris and nothing extraordinary about them. Also ordered the Goan crispy fried prawns which were good but no where close to being Goan, saying this being a Goan who loves and enjoys Goan food. For mains we ordered the Lamb biryani which came with raita and we all absolutely enjoyed it. I highly recommend their lamb biryani. We had paneer makhanwalla and butter chicken along with rice, garlic and plain naan and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The portions were good, filling and enough for 4.Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere, food and the service. I would recommend Masala Zone for some tasty Indian food.
Really nice and calm location. Great staff and services. If you are looking for authentic Indian food Masala Zone is highly recommend.
We arrived just before closing and they let us come for dinner. Top class service and amazing food. The restaurant is extremely cozy and high class but with a friendly, class service.I would recommend the Tali option on their menu, it was divine.Best Indian food we have had in a long time. Would totally come back! Thanks for a fantastic dinner.
