Mary Brown’s Chicken and Taters in Winnipeg

came here a little over a year ago to try and apply for a job here. the manager (dont know if its the same one nowmade me count cash on the spot. he set a timer to see how long it would take me to count it all. after i finished he told me my answer was way off and that he actually didnt care how long it would take me to count the cash, so im not quite sure why he timed me then in the first place if thats not what he cared about. im pretty sure anyone with common sense knows this, but a timer is used to determine how long something will take. he then proceeds to insult me and say that im not a "confident" person and other things about my personality, acting like he knows everything about me after meeting me 5 minutes ago. now, after ALL of that, he then proceeds to tell me that hes not hiring anyone at the moment. so he basically wasted both mine and his time just to tell me hes not hiring but hell take my resume anyway after proving to me he has no interest in hiring me. i would hope that there is another person taking over as a manager now and actually knows how to do their job.

Come here often and always fast and great customer service. Cleanliness is alwats great.Jasmeet one of the employees, great customer service always polite to my daughter, keep up the good work.

How does a chicken restaurant run out of chicken?

The chicken was spicy....love it!!!!

Use to be fresh and good now it is terrible. The chicken fingers sucked. Can’t believe two years ago everything was hot and fresh. Now fried earlier and not good. No water available after you run out of your drink. Eat anywhere elseEarly review was. Monday is big mary special $3.99. Its great tasting and a whole breast- yum. Worth it!

Chicken and all other menu items are great. The Chicken alone is the best in the City but its kinda pricy. I think theyd be better served by making all menu items affordable for everyone.

Marry browns is awesome but… this location the staff don’t even know the difference between the few burgers they offer and it’s always a mediocre experience compared to the other locations

I was surprised and pleased to find a "No fillers!" label on the bag. For that reason alone, definitely my choice for deep fried chicken forevermore!

Not bad at all fast service and they were out of something I wanted so gave me extr chicken. And it real chicken!!

Overrated grocery store chicken and potato wedges. Its decent, but there is much better in Winnipeg for the same price. It may be popular on the east coast, but so is voting liberal.

As always, the experience was awesome. We went there to get the Guest Appreciation Deal and o boi it was a really good deal 😎The staff (particularly the ladywas courteous and helpful as always, the wait time was clearly told and it took less than that though. The chicken was hot and delicious, although i wished i could have got both the dark meat pieces as i am not a white meat fan but it was not a big deal. Overall a splendid experience.

Ordered chicken tenders, the pieces were small so they added two extra. And didnt skimp on the dipping sauce. Excellent customer service.

We tried Mary Browns at Taylor Ave location as they serve halal chicken. We love it as it was exactly what we were looking for. Fast and efficient service.

Home of Canada’s Best Chicken Sandwich, the Big Mary!

Better than those other fast food chicken places. It actually tastes like home cooking at its best. The meats actually juicy, and seems to have the right amount of seasoning (not saltythe coleslaw has the right amount of sweetness...I haven’t tried the onion rings yet but I heard it melts in your mouth.

Service was fine. The chicken doesnt taste as good once its cooled down . Almost no flavor.

Had been told it was best chicken in town. Would take Chicken Chef over it. Taters were dry though the spices tasted good. Possibly just sat to long in the fryer or heat lamp. Would give it one more try.

Whether youre eating in, picking up or calling for delivery, this location never misses. Fast friendly service and your meal exactly what you ordered. The fact that its also a Canadian company is just icing on the cake. Best fried chicken anywhere!

Had a Big Mary and rings, and my wife had a Big Mary and fries. It was quite decent, and Id recommend anyone looking for a chicken sandwich come here. Fries and rings are above average, but I still think VJs are better for that. Chill atmosphere when I went. Friendly staff!

Went there again couple days ago. The spicy chicken burger is definitely the best I had in town. However, the POS staff was very unprofessional, he didn’t wear gloves or face masks, and with not so good altitude. This happens ALL THE TIME. Last time I went there to order, the POS staff was counting the cash and then he used the same gloves to grab my order and also touched my fries without washing his hand or even changing an new pair of gloves! I really wish the owner of this location could take more measures under current sensitive situation, the staff should definitely be retrained about the food safety procedures. I love the spicy chicken burger here, but the food safety should definitely be your FIRST PRIORITY and concern. If this happens again, even your burger is the best in the world, I might won’t come here again.

Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. Food came quickly and was hot and yummy. Onion rings were super good! Better than I expected!

I was really impressed with the quality of food here as I had expected there would be a McDonalds inside the Walmart and this was a very pleasant surprise! My first time and I was not disappointed. Delicious, fresh tasting, free run hormone free Canadian farmed chicken. Speedy service and reasonable prices! Id definitely eat here again and now Ill be watching out for more Mary Browns!

I was looking for combo items to buy and the lady was just on a higher level she asked me I can look at the display instead...I dont why was she hired then ...if I have to look at the display then there would only a machine for payment would be required instead of appointing her

Mary Browns is a pretty nice Canadian alternative to KFC in an area thats otherwise a big KFC desert. Much like KFC, their main thing is exactly as the name of the place is: chicken, taters, and fries. Menu pricing can be pretty jarring at first glance, though the overall quality of what you get is pretty comparable, and some may even give it a slight edge. Luckily, the receipts have a pretty straightforward survey that you can fill out relatively easily to bring your entire order down by 15% the next time, which does quite a bit to reduce sticker shock and brings things more in line with or even provides a bit of an edge over KFC. At this particular location there are just a handful of seats, but since the Walmart this one is in is itself significantly newer and has lower foot traffic, you probably wont have much trouble finding a seat. Speaking of, the trays are big, probably the biggest Ive seen of any chain, which is definitely helpful for group orders. Service is top-notch too, youre personally greeted when you start an order, water is actively offered if its a particularly hot day out, and you might be just so lucky enough to get a handout of some coupons too.

I love Mary Browns BUT I ordered a box of chicken and it was so greasy!!The chicken was dripping grease it had to be wrung out on paper towel and when I threw out the box there was a grease spot on the table where the box had sat. If I was eating in store it would have been returned it. They also forgot to give me my gravy.

I love Mondays at Marys. $3.99 for the best Chicken Sandwich in the market. If you havent gone to the best chicken joint in Canada, you are missing out. Love it!

The gravy is amazingly delicious. Chicken is much better than KFC and chicken delight. Wedge cut taters are tasty and not greasy, amazing with the gravy for dipping.

Good chicken, not greasy. More expensive then KFC, but you are paying for quality.Weve gone 5 times and are generally happy, we did have one negative experience:We received a contest card as part of their anniversary that when we put it into their website gave us a coupon for a free two piece and taters but when we brought it in we were told that we needed a printed out coupon. This is contrary to what is on the coupon (that both digital and printed out coupons would be accepted). We were very disappointed. A company should honour their own coupons as stated.

Tastes like home! Im from Newfoundland but live here in Winnipeg and when I saw this come into the Walmart by our house and its awesome! Food is wonderful! And the times Ive been there the staff has been friendly. No complaints from me!

Their waiting time is quite long, and a bit pricey. Its worth it though! Fried Chicken is fresh and Taters(Wedgesare tasty.Will visit again.

Their chicken is excellent. Cooked just right. Taters are very good. Server was very friendly and service was quick. Prices are spot on. 3pc meal is very filling. Highly recommend it.
