Best place on Erath thats my opinion
Martyrs Square aka Green Square is the heart of Tripoli city and a huge tourist attraction site, It is the starting point for a number of major city streets, including Omar Al-Mukhtar Street, Mezran Street, December 24 Street (formerly the first of September), and Al-Istiklal Street (formerly Muhammed Al-Maqrif). The former state building was overlooked by each of Tripolis largest theatres, the Miramare Theater, the Sidi Hammouda Mosque, and a public park.
MoreVery nice place
previously known as the green square. The meeting point in the center of Tripoli Libya
MoreIt’s the city center main square, always packed with people strolling around & taking photos, very beautiful place.
MoreI was just passing through but it got a nice vibe to it actually not every Day you see that many of kids smiling playing and feeding pigeons
MoreNice place specially at night
Lovely, my kids and i liked the place. Feeding the Pigeons.
Good
Quite crowded with people. You can see people riding horses, children playing car games, sales activities and feeding pegion birds. We came the time there was a group of people making political demonstrations.
MoreNice place to visit..
One of the major land marks to visit in Libya formerly known as the green square. You can feed pigeons and take photos, ride on a horse and take a spine for 10 dinars (a little pricy considering its just going around the square)
MoreA nice public space to catch covide or have a break from everyone (7am to 8:30am)
MoreThe place good but not for all families
Beautiful place 😍 💕
The fresh air and the view to the historical places in the city over the lake is just splendid
MoreYou gonna enjoy this place when it’s not crowded
Capitols national square, your regular pigeon infested square with pedestrians walking to and fro, pretty nice atmosphere around morning and sundown. A usual place for events and such.
MoreIt sure is a beautiful place
Enjoyable time, not very crowded
In my opinion this is the most beautiful place you can visit in the capital Tripoli....its in the middle of the city and it has a historical atmosphere also crowded with the people all the time...you can try both experiments visiting morning or night both times are incredible I strongly advise everybody to give it a round when you are in Tripoli
MoreAlways a nice place to go. I buy a drink and sit and watch life go by ...
In addition to its historical value ، it has a special place in the heart of Libyans ✌️
MoreThis where the most historical place of Tripoli located which called Saraya castle 🏰 the down town of the 🏙️ city
MoreNice mark place of Tripoli, historic and central.
It was very crowded, I recommend parking by the corniche and walking the rest of the way, there are few parts that are good for families and females, and others are not really recommended. All in all, its alright, but not where Id bring my family anymore.
MoreAwesome..it was delighted by the crowd with respect of discipline and social distancing measures...and all of them..are on one word...support the prophet Mohamed ..may peace be upon him...regardless of there differences and trips and places...they all gathered and agreed on supporting the lovely prophet Mohammad m p b u him...Also the time of gathering and the weather was very very nice..
MoreBecause it is an amazing square .. it is the center of the capital, Tripoli, a historical place that combines the past and the present. The touches of the Ottoman state and the touches of the Italian occupation are still evident I recommend visiting it because it is a tourist the heartbeat of Libya.
MoreThe Martyrs Squareis a downtown landmark at the bay in the city of Tripoli, Libya. The main commercial center of the city surrounds the square. The Square is also a main tourist attraction in Tripoli. It has a large legendary fountain done by an Italian architect at the centre of the square. The square is the meeting point of many different avenues. Omar Mukhtar Avenue is one of the longest in North Africa, it was built by Italians in the colonial time, and Libyans during the era of King Idris I. Independence Street branches from the square too, and it leads to the Palace of King Idris I. 24 December Avenue is also an Italian built avenue. Mizran Street is the last street that branches from the Martyrs Square.
MoreActive place especially at evening, full of people from all over the country, Saraya Hamra ( red castlegives a glimpse of history and glory, the harbour and the fresh sea breeze ignites the soul .
MoreWar all night shooting guns and bombs behinde buildings behinde sity you can kild with mistake shoot
MoreVery nice
I was there between 95-98 for the Great Man Made River Project. Nice place for souvenirs. Plenty of artisans inside the streets labyrinth . Memories during the peaceful times!
MoreSuch a beautiful square and place that you can chill in.There are flies that you can feed and some other activities.
MoreThis place is considered historic with many monuments next to it and its location is strategic and it is always crowded with people but needs a little care from the competent authorities. I would recommend his visit
