Always the best ! Best service and delicious food at a decent price !

I bought a few vouchers for Martines in the mall.$100 bucks was $80 .It was during covid and I thought it was a good deal.Later I realized the vouchers had an expiry date.It was coming up on the date so we went.Had dinner . One appy, two meals and two wine and a beer.When I used the vouchers I was told they were only good for one voucher a person. He handed them back.I mentioned theyd been hard to use and would expire soon. Could I use them for what Id paid ?The waiter flipplantly said " just come back next week for desert !Rather than argue I over tipped him . Shouldnt have. Who wants to argue over coupons ?Meal was $160 .It was good but I left with my previously purchased vouchers feeling let down.Actually gave the other $40 away.Food was good.

One of the highlights on my recent trip to Comox! Friendly service with simple, elegant, and delicious food. I was highly impressed with how fresh all the ingredients tasted! Some of the best salmon and corn Ive ever had (as a frequent traveler!). Reasonably priced as well. Must stop on your next visit to Comox.

A delicious and memorable meal (the sockeye salmon with blueberry compote was amazing), in a lovely setting, and with a really helpful waiter (Bradmade this evening in Comox a delight!

Blah!!!! Dont order the beef croquettes they dont mention its liver pâté inside its really gross. And they over cook their lamb to order. Never going back

Service sucked. Calamari was super salty. No air conditioning.The lamb and the stuffed chicken was really tasty. Took a long time to get the bill but Brad was there to pick up the pieces as usual. Hes great and will ask for him next time. Our server was nice enough just not efficient.Would recommend for the food., not the service.

Martines Bistro is quite simply the best restaurant in the Comox Valley and beyond. Weve dined there many times over the past few years and it has always been exquisite. Excellent meals and the staff is fantastic.An awesome experience!!

Im not sure where the good ratings are coming from, but our experience, twice now completely justify giving no more than one star for this restaurant. They completely rush you out of there. You are still chewing your last bite of appetizer when the main arrives. They just want you in and out asap and it is felt. The fish was so over cooked and the amount of pepper used in some dishes are unreal. We will never return to this over priced restaurant. They need to learn that people go out to dinner to relax and enjoy, not be rushed out the door. If people want to eat and run, they will grab take-out somewhere. Show respect for your customers.

Food was the best! Place was full, so make a reservation. Service was very good. Bit pricy.

As always a great dinner. I usually have the stuffed chicken but went all out and had the rack of lamb which was terrific. My partner had the chicken which was great as usual.

The food was delicious and the service was good considering how busy they were. Definitely will go there again!!!!

Had a wonderful dinner experience with pleasant waitress Deborah. Husband and myself enjoyed appetizers of Escargot and Tiger Prawns. Entrees were Seafood Linguine and Cajun Tuna...Excellent. Definitely a must if youve never been.

Tried Martines for the first time ever for our anniversary tonight. Two words. AMAZING! DELICIOUS! We had the Manila Clams (feature menu of the day I think not sure, not pictured), to start. I had the NY Strip Loin, and my partner had the Seafood Linguine for mains and to end, the creme brûlée and apple berry crisp! So good!! And to top it off our server (didn’t catch his namewas very attentive even with the running around he was doing, very friendly and overall fantastic. Definitely will be back! xo

Took my fiance out for a nice meal for the first time in a while since our baby was born. We love the atmosphere here, the people, the food, everything was amazing. Martines is our favorite place to go and will continue to go here every chance we get to go out. Thank you again guys date night was great.

Dine Around menu is fantastic. Lovely ambience, great service and the food was delicious - definitely the best meal I have had in the Comox Valley for months, maybe years.

Get meals, good price for great plates of food. The creme brulee was spectacular. The room a bit noisy for hard of hearing. Great experience overall

We havent been since covid, we shouldnt have waited so long. We didnt have a reservation and they fit us in, service was lovely and all the staff knew their stuff. Portion sizes were generous and the food was great! Will be back

This little bistro makes me happy. The gentleman server is always so amazing and pleasant. His ability to pair our food and dessert with the wine we selected is superb. Serving size is perfect. Cozy atmosphere. Very easy to make a reservation. Our most favourite place in Comox🍷

Just arrived in Comox and needed a place for dinner. Stumbled into a fantastic restaurant, everything we ordered was a flavor explosion.Great service, nice decor and atmosphere, really enjoyed our experience.

On July 11, 2021 I went to what I have always considered the best restaurant in the Comox Valley, I ordered the signature dish, the rack of lamb, the plate that arrived was definitely not up to standard, however the next table had the same meal as mine and looked wonderful . I can only assume that I got the dregs of the lamb and leftovers, the plate looked like it had been sitting for some time, the juices were congealed, I put it down to Covid. I then saw the same meal arrive at the next table and it looked absolutely wonderful. I was very very disappointed and told management who did not even apologize, however we were given a very small reduction on the bill. We will not return there again they appeared quite OK with this. !

Ate there once and had a great time. Good food, good service. Decided to take my family there because of this experience. Went online to make reservation for the patio however the website says you cannot reserve the patio. We show up 5min after opening, with nobody in the restaurant and are told there is nothing available on the patio due to reservations. What? Thought you can’t reserve the patio. We ask to speak to manager, who comes storming out of the kitchen and immediately starts berating us for questioning his reservations. Turns out he can decide to allocate any reservations of his choice to the patio and therefore there is no room. After having his reservation list waved in my face while he yells at me that I have no idea what I’m talking about, we decided to try elsewhere.Cannot express my frustration and astonishment of a restaurant manager treating and speaking to me like that. We will NEVER go back and will be sure to share our experience with anyone who asks about dining in the Comox Valley.

Amazing food with gluten free options. Some of the best food my family has had. All 4 of us loved our food. Not to mention the service was just as good as well.

A good meal with very helpful staff. We had a wonderful time celebrating a 60th Anniversary. The appetizers, entrees and wines were good. This day the halibut on smoked salmon risotto was overdone as was my lamb. Hopefully today was a bad day for the kitchen.

What a wonderful dining experience! The ambiance made us feel like we were escaping from the mundane. Menu prices are very reasonable.The house wine was lovely, the menu items we had were beautifully and skillfully presented and tasted incredible. It was food art on a plate. We will be back. What a great date night dining experience!!! Ok, we over indulged as it’s been a long time since eating out at a nice restaurant during the pandemic but OMG! Excellent appetizers - Calamari & Escargot, mains - Roast Lamb Chops & Turkey Schnitzel and deserts - Creme Brûlée & White Chocolate with Strawberry Purée Vanilla Cheesecake. From service to food freshness to taste and attentiveness, it was all so awesome. We are definitely going back and would highly recommend this Comox dining gem to others!

We had a great birthday dinner for two this month. It was an excellent halibut and ribs dinner with wine. The service was great. We enjoyed our dining experience and will be back soon.

Arguably, the best restaurant in Comox. Certainly in the top 3. Considering how long Martines has been around, that is impressive. If you havent yet been, you really should go as you are missing out on one of the best food experiences in the Valley.The staff always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, the food is always consistently good. Marcus, the owner, always comes around to each table to greet everyone personally and welcome them to the restaurant.A very good choice for special occasions.

Dined at Martines August 24,2020.Excellent menu including the seafood menu. We had prawns appetizer and red snapper. Our guests had salmon and a steak. Each of us rated the meal 9 out of 10 for all aspects of the experience. The Red Snapper was delicious, a real taste experience. In our view the restaurant rates as one the best in the Comox area and is our first choice whenever friends ask for a dining recommendation.JR & R L

I had the stuffed chicken as my main and for dessert, the flourless chocolate cake. These are by far some of the most amazing dishes Ive ever had. The flavors were spot on and had such amazing depth. Youre seriously missing out of you bypass this gem

I have been to Martines Bistro for dinner a number of time before and have wanted to write a review but never have. Last Saturday, July 11, 2020 was my wedding anniversary and we went to Martines for supper, I want to say what a really lovely meal we both had, I could have had two dinners the food was so good, instead, I proceeded to have a decadent dessert. The staff were fabulous in there service and care of us, tables all set up well and spaced apart accordingly in consideration of the Covid19. We will be back. I have a birthday soon....Thank you once again Martines, I consider you the best restaurant in the Valley.

My wife and I were at Martines for our anniversary last week. They have done a nice job of social distancing the tables without making it feel too different from what I suspect it was before--though this was our first time there.The food was excellent--I had the Beef Tenderloin and my wife had the stuffed Chicken Breast and we were both impressed by the variety of tastes the meal offered and the portions and presentation of the food. The prices are also quite reasonable.Service was very good--attentive but not intrusive--and the desserts (Crème brûlée and Chocolate Moussewere generous and delicious! Kudos to the management for the good variety of gluten-free options and for also checking in with us during the meal--the attention to detail shows.Our only regret is that Martines is not in our home city so well have to wait for our next trip to Comox to visit once more!

Martine’s Bistro is not a five star it is a ten star!Dine out event extraordinaire. I had fantastic food. We will be back ASAP. Great service and lots of parking. They were flexible and kind around my picky requests It is a warm and unforgettable atmosphere. Just have your next meal here! You will find your new Comox happy place.

Used to be one of my favorite places in town, until tonight. The food was perfect as always, but the service was so bad Im not coming back again. The waitress took our forks after the appetizers and didnt brings us new ones even after the main dishes were at the table. When we brought the bill I asked her if she could take our picture (my sister was visitingand she said "in a moment" and left to the next table. She never came back and even after a while that I had my credit card ready and my sister was literally standing by the table ready to leave, she was talking to people in the back and I had to ask the hostess to please bring the machine. Finally the waitress brought me the machine with an attitude. The place has great food, but her service was so rude that Im not going back.

Outstanding food. Our dinner was amazingly delicious and clearly prepared with care. We were so caught up in our enjoyment of our meal that we neglected to snap any photos. Honestly I dont feel bad about not taking any pictures; Martines seems genuinely the place to simply put away your worldly worries and noises and just enjoy fantastic food.We were pensive at first, the hostess seemed to be confused that we wanted to eat at their restaurant, especially without reservations. We decided that because we hadnt eaten there yet wed wait. 25 minutes later we had most of the place to ourselves. The service after that point was welcoming and warm. They forgot one item I requested but at the briefest mentioning of it they granted it without charge.Great place, good food. While we ate we watched the chef physically help an older client to his car when he was unsteady on his feet. These are the venues that will be missed as the world moves faster.

Excellent food and great service! Just not somewhere you go to super frequently as it is expensive. But as a special occasion? 👌This restaurant is quaint and has a warm atmosphere. Id recommend for special occasions. Food was terrific but of course pricey. But rightly so.Service was also fantastic. They really make an effort. Quick stops at the table to check on the meal/beverages intermittently is refreshing to see.

We had a reservation last Friday night and were seated on the patio immediately. The hostess handed us menus and left. We decided on our drinks and while we waited, we decided on our appetizers and dinner. Still no one came to take our order or bring us water. We waited 20 minutes and noticed that 4 people that were behind us when we entered had been seated, brought water, had their drink orders taken and were ordering their dinner. I tried to get one of the waiter or waitresses attention but felt invisible. We made the decision to leave and made the hostess aware of what happened...or didnt happen. I sent the owner a private message but he didnt even have the courtesy to respond back. We ended up going to Avenue for dinner and had an amazing meal with exceptional service. We were shocked that a restaurant of this caliber has such a poor level of service. We wont be returning. There is no excuse for service like this.

We sat down for a wonderful time. The service was exceptional. The food was an absolute joy for the eyes and the taste was magical. Savory delight that exceeded expectations for a simple dish. Levels of flavors disclosed themselves as your meal progresses. Balance of acids and sweetness reached perfectly. The first bite was a show stopper so one could savor and catch the subtle influences.

Fantastic! The 6 oz Steak with prawns was done to absolute perfection and the presentation was impeccable!Our server , Brad was awesome!Very warm and friendly.. and I must say he whips up a wicked Caesar!Definitely worth going back for

We had an excellent dinner with our friends. On Sunday there is live music which made the dining delightful. The Red Snapper was delicious and all our meals were very well presented. The cook and staff are very skilled. Well managed establishment.

Unassuming from the road, but nice place with a patio! Food was excellent with nice selection,good service....I wouldnt classify it as super high end but they are trying! Would certainly eat here again!
