Marmalade Cafe - Calabasas in Woodland Hills

Came for breakfast on a weekday with a friend. Poor server was spread thin.Our food took quite awhile and it came out cold 🥶.We tried to order another side of potatoes in case maybe 🤔 it was just a fluke, second order came out just as cold.Our server was nice but couldnt say we were given the best service since she was busy serving the other side of the restaurant as well. She came by twice, once to take our order and to grab the check. We had to ask the food runner for help.

Boy Boy , I took 2 stars off only for one reason. This place which offers very good food with reasonable prices it really really really needs a remodeling and need to cleanup. Bathrooms are fealty, carpet is dirty and outside patio needs to be cleaned up. This place is not a calabasas style . But after all , I can’t stop myself to go there at least 2 or 3 times a week for breakfast. I love it . But please clean it up and do something about the bathrooms . Because when I want to even wash my hands it kills my appetite.

There meals are always Fabulous. And super well set up. Great place to stop and have a nice meal. Thank you for your amazing and delicious meals and bar drinks. Also Labor Day weekends are always a good time stop in for a nice lunch. With plenty of tables and seats. And alot of turtles just wanting to smile at the camer 🐢 📷

The service here used to be pretty good. But lately, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse. While we were seated promptly, we were also pretty much left ignored for most of the following 30 minutes. When someone finally did a cursory drink order check on us, ordering the tasty bacon tobacco bloody mary was a mistake as the kitchen ran out of bacon and took 20 minutes to make more.When we were finally able to order our food, that took another 30 minutes to arrive. In between, as we ran out of coffee and water, nobody bothered to stop by to either reassure us that wed not been forgotten, or to see if there was anything we needed.Finally, after nearly 75 minutes, our food arrived. However, the requests that were made for well-done potatoes, crispy Canadian bacon, and other customizations had been ignored.The food was delicious, but make sure youre in the mood to sit around and wait for service, or have to contact a manager multiple times to get things moving.

I had been in this restaurant several times before and it was one of the my favorites but tonight was an exception . My guests and I waited more than an our for the table . Then about after an hour no plate ,no silverware ,no server . I had to call other severs for help . It took too long for food beside missing an order.It was very disappointing . I hope the management takes off the issue.

Service was good so 2 stars. So very dirty inside. Really gross. My meal was cold and inedible.

We had a large party. I dont know if Marmalade was understaffed, but it took 45 minutes for our food to he delivered. The waiter didnt let us know it was going to take that long. Granted, some of us had special requests, and maybe that is why our orders took so long. It still would have been nice to know someone was watching out for us. The waiter seemed a bit surly, but, again, maybe they were understaffed. The orders were correct, but we needed some condiments. We didnt see our waiter for some time, so one of us left the table to go get tapatio, ketchup, syrup. We were disappointed and wont be back. The general consensus is that the service has deteriorated.

Service is slow. It’s hot inside, feels like you’re sitting outside. Glasses have lipstick stains all over them. Sat at a booth that looked run down and dirty.

The service by the hostess and our waiter Jake was very good. The food was subparIve been to Marmalade a hundred times over the years. One of our lunch spots with clients and a girlfriends hangout. The food was not good. I did not take photos, I should have. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. It came with an unfried mushy flour tortilla over a bed of dark red sauce with cheese, a fried egg, a congealed blob of unseasoned black beans and a dry chicken and cheddar cheese enchilada. The chicken inside was like dry leg meat. No flavor whatsoever. I only could eat a little, put hot sauce to help with seasonings. I read some bad reviews before we went but thought Id try myself. I was disappointed. I did not make any deal over it, just left a pretty full plate, paid and tipped and we left. Wont be going back.

I had a meeting at your restaurant with a colleague and we were having such a wonderful conversation that we forgot to order food. The server was wonderful and he kept filling up our drinks and never pressured us to order. I really appreciate how professional he was and I will definitely go back to eat at your cafe next time Im in the neighborhood. 10/10!!!

The only reason why this is getting 3 stars and not 2: Its in a nice area in The Commons and the food is decent.However, the restaurant was either understaffed or terribly unattentive with their guests. There was only like 1 competent waitstaff. The night went terribly for me as everything went absolutely wrong and Ill list them out:- My table setting had a dirty napkin and I requested a new set of utensils. I had to ask 4 different staff before getting my utensils replaced, and much after the rest of the table had already gotten food (30mins).- Our waitress got my ENTIRE order wrong from drink to entree. I had to wait an entire 20 minutes for my proper entree to come out and gave up on correcting the drink.

I wanted to try a new restaurant, but it ended up being a mistake. I got it to go, so I didnt add a tip when I paid. My rule of thumb is to wait until I get my order and observe the service. I like to see genuine, kind service. Well, I didnt receive that here and when I got my order, the potatoes were missing. The hostess reacted like it was my fault. After getting my full order, I asked for ketchup and again she seemed bothered. She also forgot utensils. I will definitely never eat there again even if other dishes are the best in the area. Customer service is a big factor in regards to returning to any establishment.

Friendly service, great location, yummy mimosas.

Despite a reservation, there were no tables inside or in the shade. Once seated we waited for menus. Once we had menus, it took 10 minutes for a waiter to come over. 10 minutes later, we still did not have drinks or water. The bathroom was filthy!!!! Even though they have decent food I would not recommend this restaurant.

the place was very beautiful but our order came to be desired, we asked for a carafe of mimosa, as it was on the menu with fresh orange, when the table arrived and we started to drink it was not fresh orange juice but from a machine, we asked the employee and he confirmed that was natural. what impressed me the most was the carafe, totally dirty. cleanliness is everything in a restaurant.

Gorgeous cafe with indoor and outdoor dining options. Great brunch options, good lunch options. Some vegan and vegatarian options. I had the dark chocolate and macadamia pancakes. YUM!

Staff are great in this location, especially scott that helped and served us last night. The food was even better, taste, presentation and quality were all on the top. We had a great time in this nice and cozy cafe and believe everyone else would be agree as well.Highly recomended😍😍😍😍

I just ordered cobb salad for pick up and it has no chicken or bacon in it, like the menu said it should have. I got lettuce and egg for $20. How irresponsible of the person who made it. My lunch is over so I cant even go back and show them. I am very upset and will not return. Oh and I got avocado and it was black. I am very sad :(

This restaurant has a large menu, and good food! They have a full bar and make an awesome margarita. Our server was a little spread thin so we gave the service the benefit of the doubt. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well as booths indoor. I got the pot roast and it was very good. Its located in the Commons Mall and before or after you go there you can walk around the mall.

Good food. Nice outdoor seating area. They should clean the windows and door of finger prints. Brass on the door too.

Very friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price. Setting is very pleasant with breezy patios & fountains.

Had the smoked salmon scramble gluten free. It was excellent with their special potatoes. Also had the classic Eggs Benedict which was great. We ate outside so that we could watch the turtles in the pond and it was very enjoyable!

At a complete loss as to what makes this place Mediterranean. Better to be had is….. well just about anywhere. If you have nowhere else to go, it’s fine, food is OK…. But it’s diner food at best, and not the most particularly interesting diner food. Deceiving considering how nice of an area it is in too.

This is the second time I’ve had Marmalade. The first time the entire office ordered and the food was amazing! This time, a couple coworkers and I ordered lunch and the food was very bland. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken (NOT NASHVILLE HOT, just BUFFALO😡, the breading was very soggy, not a crispy chicken sandwich like it stated. The fries were different than we ordered before and they were very skinny and limp, and the huevos rancheros was only OK. I am hoping this was just a fluke day but still very pricey for how low the quality was today.

It was ok for Fathers Day. They squeezed us in without a reservation. Food was decent, but the bathrooms were disgusting with feces on the floor and paper towels not refilled. The bartender was responsible for the whole patio by himself. Did the best he could. When other servers brought our food, we asked for utensils, but they didnt help him out one bit. My wife went outside to help herself, and they are all shooting the "breeze" with each other with tables being pretty empty inside. The greeter also could do with some training; bring some menus when you seat people, ok?

The food was delicious! We tried the Eggs Benedict and pancakes, both of which were excellent! My main gripe was that service was pretty slow (e.g. it took quite a while to get the coffees out, and then even longer to bring cream), and the prices felt a bit high for what youre getting

If their app would allow no stars that’s what I would choose. Actually, not just no stars but a MINUS 100. This Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas used to be one if our favorite restaurants for breakfast, brunch/lunch but that all changed on this day. From the moment we arrived the hostess had an attitude and once we were were finally seated we didn’t get any napkins, silverware or water. When our waitress took our order (which were eggsit took more than 40 minutes when they served both egg orders the food they gave us was ice cold. The waiter offered to have them redo both orders so we agreed and sat waiting for our food. Occasionally, the waiter would pass by and let us know that they’re redoing it and it will be right out. NOT SO!!!! To our amazement after another 40 minutes and still no food the manager came out to tell us that the dinner chefs didn’t know how to make our eggs and the order was never taken and/or prepared. The manager had a very callous, discourteous attitude., similar to that of the hostess who seated us when we first arrived, over 2 hours earlier. He didn’t offer a voucher or an apology… nothing for the fact that we had sat there for 2 hours unaware that we weren’t getting our food. I am amazed and shocked at the lack of service or care offered for the huge Cluster F…k. our experience was. I suggest no one go there. It seems like management has changed, or something but if you’re looking for good service AND YOUR FOOD, not to mention good food (and have it be served hot, or could I’d whichever would apply DO NOT GO THERE. You’ll b sorry and you’ll end up leaving hungry, and dissatisfied but mostly flabbergasted at the ineptness of the staff, servers, managers, hostesses, etc.

Solid service, and the food was above average for the price. Very impressed.Edit:Its May 2022.This may be our last visit as there are stark red flags concerning cleanliness and consistency.Bathrooms are filthy and towel dispensers literally falling out of the wall. Toilet door latches all broken, and the partition loose and wobbly.We placed our order today and our water glasses were FILTHY, with LIPSTICK on them.Prices have been jacked WAAAY up, and portions and food quality has dropped.Our meals finally came, and we still didnt have silverwareMy Bagel was actually CHARCOAL. I cannot believe that they even brought it to our table in that condition..Our table is covered in sticky goo. The condiments are covered in filth and mostly empty. One has no dang lid!Please be careful choosing this place. Not sure WHAT is happening, but cleanliness is dangerously lacking.

So bad! They were busy so I get the long wait for food, but when eggs come out burned on one side and completely raw in the middle (it was a frittata). When we finally got our waitress back she didn’t seem surprised and I asked to replace it with just one scrambled egg. 10 minutes later she returned with the same frittata and said the made it well done… they put it back in the pan and cooked it longer and brought it back!! Disgusting!!! She then told us the manager would be right over (we hadn’t asked for themfinally after waiting and waiting the waitress came back and said the manager was too busy to help us and gave us the check saying we shouldn’t come on Sundays it’s too busy and she tells all her customers that! How about management get it together so everything is smooth even when busy!! This place is a disaster and absolutely disgusting.

Breakfast service is fine but avoid this place for dinner, the service is horrendous. You have to continually request someone to come to the table and then the servers cant seem to remember simple requests. We were very appreciative when restaurants reopened and supported that and the efforts of the staff, but this group in the evening would obviously rather be collecting unemployment. Keep this up and they will be.

The wait staff was great. Which is why they get the stars. But the food coming out of the kitchen was bland and sloppy. Chorizo Benedict had little flavor and the yolks were cooked solid. The potatoes that accompanied it had more flavor. Assuming you got potatoes. One plate had them, one didnt. How do you miss that coming out of the kitchen? Again, front staff was great. Back of house, needs to be tighter.

I dont know where to start. Weve been going to Marmelade Calabassas for years, which means that we liked everything about it. Then about 1 year ago, the disaster started. I ordered a Ruben sandwich that came with the cheese and meat in it still frozen and everything else totally messed up.Then 3-4 months later, our food came very cold.So, about 8 months go by and we went back this May, 2 weeks after mothers day.Here is what happened: though it was 2:20 pm they do not make the Ruben. Deadline for this sandwich is 3:00 pm.Ordered 2 salads instead, in large sizes.One came in large, one in small.No dressing at all in either, no parmesan cheese, 5 crutons in the size of a ring finger nail..When complained, the waiter sais: oh, you want dressing and cheese? No problem....then never seen him again.For the payment, we waited 20 min. at the table and another 15 at the front desk.The patio was not cleaned up, the furniture was all over the place and the door they use to go to the kitchen and back was slumming so hard that people were jumping in their seats. I shared our experience with a friend who was not surprised at all. Why? She and her relatives also had bad experiences.So, it is a patern. Is the management aware of the disaster that is knocking at their door?

Loved the location and the atmosphere of the outdoor patio. The mens room was a total disaster, dirty, no toilet tissue, no soap in either dispenser (so how does the mostly male kitchen staff wash their hands?), No towels in one dispenser, trash overflowing. No reason for this as I noted three people wrapping silverware in napkins.Then, there is the food. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, which I split with my wife. The bread, cheese and sauerkraut were all good but the corned beef was so tough that neither my wife or I could chew it completely. We had to spit it out on a plate!The $5.99 Caesar salad was wilted and not very appetizing, probably left over from yesterday.I have been going to the Westlake village marmalade location for years, though not recently, and in the past it was always a delightful experience. Whats going on marmalade? Get it together again, please 🥺Cant blame it on understaffing as it appeared there were plenty of hands on the floors.

Delicious food with better ambiance. Plenty of room for seating and you gotta try their 7 grain pancakes! 5 stars and a must if you’re in Calabasas!

At 9am today my son-in-law ordered online for a special Mother’s Day breakfast for our family. He and my daughter are first-time parents and my wife and I are first-time grandparents.The order went through and we were looking forward to the food being delivered to his home. Almost two hours later he got a text that said “your order has been cancelled because the store is unable to fulfill the order.” Needless to say, we are very disappointed. Your lack of courtesy and service is appalling.

Service was slow. Heard the manager five times tell the servers last call on orders. Place is gross and needs health inspectors.Bathroom had missing tiles and other issues. Looked like a gas station bathroom. A towel used to a door closed instead of lock.Overheard someone complain they were charged more than menu price and they wouldn’t honor it as it been adjusted for a bit. Seems like managers issue for not checking menus.

Very friendly staff the food was delicious good portions. Oh you must have the upside down pineapple pancake 🥞.

Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas is amazing! The food is so fresh and tasty. Service was amazing. I personally love the breakfast burritos and maple sausage. Can’t wait to come back.

I took them over an hour for our food to show up. By the time we got our food.. most of it was cold.. we got no bread or water until we asked for it agina and again. The server help the other people before us. And we never got a second drink. The server showed up right before inlaid the bill. Terrible service.

The worst Philly cheesesteak I’ve ever had. I’ve heard great things about this café, but it was awful. My sandwich looked like it came out A grocery store . Caesar salad had absolutely no substance, two croutons and everything was called since I ordered it to go. They really need to step it up.

Nice patio! Great service! The marmalade breakfast was just ok for the price. The breakfast potatoes are yummy, but theres more grilled peppers and onion than potatoes and the toast was dry. On a good note my husband loved his chilaquiles.

Its always a good experience dining at The Commons here in Calabasas, and our favorite is Marmalade Cafe. We enjoyed eating out in such a very nice day, I enjoyed my Garlic Shrimp in Linguine and my Mimosa, my boyfriend ordered his usual Salmon asparagus in bowtie pasta. Its been a while we havent been here and were glad were slowly going back to normal again. Food here is always good, service is friendly and great.

Great selection, service. Went for brunch, we had Paleo green chili bowl, Egg white frittata and the avocado toast. Everyone enjoyed their selection.Plus did a little turtle rescue.

Good food, great location and amazing service. The food is reasonably priced and the view (if sitting outsideis great for a Saturday or Sunday brunch. At the entrance of the restaurant you’ll find a Bioswale with tortoise and fish. One of the best Bloody Mary’s in the area. The only issue I noticed is that therestroom could have been a little cleaner.

The food here was delicious. The service was really nice. The prices were not bad.We ordered a Breakfast Burrito, the Cross Creek Pancakes with Scramble Eggs and Ham, French Toast, and Corned Beef Hash, and Gilsons Scramble. The Pancakes were very good, fluffy and tasty. They had a homemade taste and texture. The toast were a little hard but had a good taste.The coffee was excellent. We ordered two Cafe Lattes.I definitely recommend this place.

Very good food, friendly service, the outdoor experience while generally great comes with a giant asterisk.So. Many. Bees.We got continously buzzed by 4 to 5 bees at a time while we ate to the point we had to just get up and call it quits.From what the staff shared, sounds like something that has been brought to the malls attention (Carusowithout action yet. I would love to come back and have nothing but good to say about the experience otherwise but being uncomfortable while dining is hard to recommend.

The food is delicious with a lot of customization available. Last time I went our server had this little trick he showed us with the forks and it was really funny. Basically its homey.

Goid service and good food. Would definently recommend. I had the Baja Cioppino and it was awesome. My some had the Mac and Cheese with Smoked Bacon he couldnt shop eating it. I forgot for starters we had the Grilled Artichokes. Sorry for no before photos of the Artichokes just a photo of the aftermath.
