Local bar & grill chain offering a classic setting for American pub fare & sports on TV.
Delicious fried okra, great atmosphere and perfect place to watch the UGA game!!!!
We had a double order of the Tuna Poke which is usually wonderful. The tuna tonight seemed to be a mix of sushi grade and tuna for grilling, tough texture. Also the kids chicken fingers looked to be refried and burnt
Food has not been as good as it use to be and wait times inconstant, whether sitting at the bar or at a table, waitstaff and bartenders selectively choose who gets served timely rather than by first come first serve. Staff is not as friendly as in the past, perhaps they are over worked
Every location of this place that Ive visited Has been awesome its a pleasant atmosphere Great food and spirits!
First time dinning and Theo and Nicole were amazing. They answered all our questions and were attentive and servers!! The food was delicious and a good value. We cannot wait too return.
Good food and good staff. My experience was better than average. A little nicer than an average bar and not quite fine dining. A good middle.
Id rather see fly tape on the patio than have flies landing on me and my food constantly. Do SOMETHING.
Simple delicious and fast! Many choices including a few exotic ones, plus custom orders, plenty of sides to share. Very friendly staff. I like simple, this place is awesome!
Just ate at the Marlows in East Cobb for the first and last time. Food was bland. Steak was not properly trimmed before cooking. The server was the only saving grace of the place and it was his first day. On top of food that was not worth what they charge, I had to dry my hands with toilet paper that was hung in the wrong direction. My suggestion to the management is lower your prices to meet the standards at which the food is prepared.
Placed gift card and my form of payment in checkbook and handed to server. He then charged my card for the full amount and comes back to the table surprised that there was a gift card in there. He asked was this gift card already in there?No... it magically appeared out of thin air. I was then told I was going to be refunded the difference that the gift card was going to take care of and its been over 24 hours with no such refund. Food is overpriced and service sucked. Its really not okay to mess with peoples money. Would never recommend, very shady.
Caleb did an outstanding job !!It was my sons 21st birthday and we all had a great experience because of Caleb !!
They were understaffed due to the amount of customers but as we observed ALL employees were busting their tails to satisfy their customers! The only small complaint we have is, our fav appetizer, the dynamite shrimp (may have different nametwo times in a row weve gotten carrot instead of green peppers like it had been, I dont know if its changed for good or not....but its not as good as before, and menu still describes it as green peppers. So if its changed, the menu needs to say so, especially for folks like us who dont like carrots. 😕 Outside of that, very pleased!
Just finished a quick lunch at the bar in Marlow’s Tavern East Cobb, and I can say that the food was excellent- the Royale with cheese burger did not need any condiments because it tasted great. The hand cut fries were fresh and delicious. Hats off to the food and the service!
Took my Mother here for years, at least once a month. She tells me she no longer wants to come here. The reason- The hostess yells, with a very loud voice, to the other employees. She shouts from the main floor area to the Kitchen station, right in your ear when you are trying to enjoy your meal.Completely unacceptable! This is not the Varsity Lady! Please get rid of this employee so we can come back and enjoy the great food and the other respectable servers and bartenders.
What a great experience! This was my first time visiting and it will not be my last.We ate at the bar and both bartenders were great. They helped us navigate the menu to make great meal selections.New York strip was wonderful, and the twice baked potatoes should be a side! The Royale is the best burger you will eat.Great service and great food!
Services was great. Food was pretty good and came out rather quickly. Good atmosphere. Drinks couldve been better/stiffer.
The hospitality is great, we were well taken care of, sat quickly. The food came out very quickly, pretty much everything on the menu is great. One of my favorite places to eat by far.
My husband and I order (deliveryfrom this location a couple of times a month. Last night, my husband ordered the crispy grouper sandwich for the first time. It looked scrumptious and I had to have a bite. It did not disappoint. It was flavorful, hot and oh so crispy. I thought about that sandwich all day, so I gave into temptation and ordered one a couple of hours ago. Hard to believe it came from the same restaurant because it was the complete opposite of the one my husband had last night. It was cold and tasteless and not a crunch to be found...like it had been sitting around for a while. Plus, it wasnt a filet, but rather 3 small "fingers". My husband got the tavern burger, but even that was "off". That usual great grilled flavor was not there. Were both very disappointed...guess its time to try somewhere new.
My review disappeared, so Im baaaaack reviewing again! Try the shrimp & crab "nachos" - I have them every time Im here, and my hubby loves grilled chicken. We always have great service and food here. Weve only had drinks at other locations, but the food here is 👍👍
We had a great meal at Marlows Tavern today. The spinach fondue and firecracker shrimp were great appetizers. I had the deconstructed jambalaya which goes away on Tuesday, so hurry. You deserve some. My wife had the fish tacos with grouper instead of tilapia. They were awesome as well. Our server MaKayla was cheerful and very attentive, even the General Manager, Jon something, came to our table to check on us. The food was enjoyable, the atmosphere relaxed and all around it was a pleasant experience. We will be back.
I love this Marlows!!! I’ve been coming here since they opened years ago. The staff is fantastic and the food is the best ever. This is a great neighborhood tavern where many of my friends congregate.
They were super busy, but got us seated within seconds of waking in. We got our appetizer before our cocktails came! They were so fast. Everyone was working hard, even the manager to get people in and out quickly. The only bad thing was that our wings were still cold/pink and under cooked. We told the sever and she took them back, but then returned them to us even though we asked her not to. We just wanted to let them know they were undercooked, and we weren’t in the mood for wings anymore because by then our entrees had arrived. Not sure why they brought back the uneaten wings on a new plate without the veggies or ranch, instead of just redoing them or refunding us. Everything else was good.
Delicious butternut squash crab bisque followed by Surf and Turf. Wonderful Valentines day lunch courtesy of my very sweet boyfriend. 💕 Excellent service as usual. Our favorite place to eat in Marietta.
We like it because the patio is large and heated well. The food is pretty good and the drinks are too. The menu is diverse enough for myself, my wife and my six-year old.
Service was mediocre, they served soup right with main course which made main entree cold, my coffee was cold and never bought new one when asked to replace, I end up ordering hot tea and asked to bring with my desert but bought tea first and when I was almost finished with tea then bought desert later when my tea was almost gone.Nothing extra ordinary here except prices :(
Great American food with variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and special dishes . They also have good Veggie options (Salad, burger and side dishes- fries to enjoy if you are vegan. We always enjoy their service and ambience , close to shopping and movie theaters
The customer experience wasnt that great when we arrived there was no one to sit us and we could see workers walking around and chating. I had to go and ask the hostess if they are still serving and she said "oh yes just changing shifts". We were sat down our waiter was amazing and friendly. However the side rice and vegetables was so salty and had to change for French fries. I did want another plate fixed. I have eaten at so many Marlows franchise and this is the first I was never satisfied with meal.
Came here with some friends for an impromptu hang out. We waited about 50 minutes for a table, it was a Saturday night and pretty busy. The employees and our server were pleasant. It wouldve been 5 stars if the drinks were better. We tried several of the cocktails and even the strawberry lemonade wasnt our preference. Waiter was pleasant throughout and neither food or drinks took long to come out.
Wonderful lunch with special friends! We were seated quickly and greeted by Gigi. She brought our drinks right away and took our order. The food really came quickly! We started with the hummus, which was very fresh and delicious. Then we tried the fried asparagus...Yum😋 The burger was delicious and cooked exactly as I asked. A great experience with equally great service!
First time here. Excellent Sunday brunch! The chef, Lance, has great vision & culinary skill, not to mention tastes!!! Sat at bar around 12:45ish & bartender, Kyle, seemed in a really bad mood. 😕. Super slow service, acted like he was put out that we were trying to order drinks, & was on his phone texting a LOT. 🥺 If he would work instead of texting it would have been better. So bad service 😞 but Lance saved the visit with such great food! Only reason for 4 stars...based on service would have given a 2. 😬
Was very yummy. The service was great! The food was fresh, hot, and very tasty! Was a Marvelous Marlows Experience!
Hate to leave such a bad review. I love marlows just not this one...the service was horrible we waited with empty cups to get a refill for over 20 minutes so it was at least 30 until we saw our server. Drinks were poorly made and I got my usual I get at a different marlows. Complained to the manager and she just talked over us the entire time. She said our waitress was in her office with her and thats why we werent being served like that make sense. She ended up taking 4 bucks off of our meal. Oh geez thanks. I just wanted good service not a discount...If you want to give Marlows a shot, I would suggest trying a different location. They usually do such an amazing job! Its sad to see this kind of service here...will be complaining to corporate. Hope this helps...
While the service was fair, the food was fabulous! I am pretty certain our server was a newbie. The Manager gave us a free appetizer since it was our first visit. Might be worth a return visit the next time we are in Marietta.
Its a good place to get together with friends. A reasonable selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks are available so there is something for everyone. Food is good (think high end bar foodagain something for everyone. Always very crowded and the dinner hour and weekends. Can be very loud so be prepared for it. A patio area is available for those not comfortable eating inside a restaurant.
We were in the area and looking for a place to eat lunch. This place came up in the search. We decided to give it a try. It was great. The service was excellent and so was the food. We even ordered something to go to take home. The jalapeno grits and the grits cake are amazing. The manager (?even came by to check on us.
Food was out super quick, servers were nice. Im not gonna lie a lot of restaurants struggle on the weekends, but they did great.Theyre head chef was really kind also.Burgers are ridiculously good too, even the fries, legit Golden. Im coming back here 👌
Marlowe is just not the same as it first was when my wife and I used to go all the time..Maybe its Covid. The menus always the same, the portions are smaller. Went for the grouper sandwich, I expected a nice brioche and good portion but it was tiny. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and honestly it was nothing special. The Flatbread appetizer was the only highlight and was small portion as well. The service was polite but slow..it took forever just to get to small sandwiches.
I come to this location often, service is always great. Everyone is kind and great. But this time I was completely shocked at my food. I got the crab shrimp nachos and it looked and tastes very different, Im guessing yall are either trying something new or out of real crab meat because I got imitation crab and it is not good. Im on lunch so I didnt really have time to talk to anyone. Very disappointed.
First time to this location. Fantastic food. Love the shrimp and crab nachos. My 7-year old asked me to rate his two tiny burger 5 star after the first bite. My Asian Ahi Tuna salad was wonderfully favored and tasted very fresh!
My daughters Sweet Sixteen Birthday dinner party was hosted at this location. Matt, the General Manager, Ken, the Bar Manager, Tinker Bell our server and their entire staff were absolutely amazing!!! They were very helpful during the planning and executed exceptionally well on the evening of. The service and food were hands-down first-rate!!! Do not hesitate to host an event or simply visit here to enjoy a great meal and the atmosphere. You will not be disappointed!!
I cant remember how many of the Marlows locations we have visited, but it has always been worth it. I post review here, because this one is the one we visit the most. The food and drinks are always extra tasty, even after COVID they did not lower the quality or quantity. I always recommend to everybody I know.
The wait to be seated, was a bit long. Taking into consideration that the staff may not have been operating at full capacity. The table (party of 3 for lunch)separately order the same side, and 3 different amounts were distributed. As well as differences in the presentations.Albeit the food, and our server Fabian(?), was sufficient. I was hoping for a better overall experience. This was my first visit, uncertain if I will return.
Either they were having a bad day or there carryout is very unacceptable . The fries were old and soggy. The lettuce on the burger had the vein and the tomatoes were bad. I could not believe the presentation, especially at a time when business is needed. I was in total dismay.
The food was really good. I was basic and ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were one of a kind. Like, I’ve never had any fries that tasted so good. In my defense of being basic and ordering a cheeseburger, is their menu did not have a lot of items and the items on there were pricey in my opinion. Particularly the plated dinners. If I recall correctly it might have been 9 options. We also tried the crab cake appetizer and a side of the jalapeño corn grits. These saved the experience and almost earned a 4th star. They were great and was eaten as an entre. Great flavors! And was a pretty hefty crab cake. This particular location was sort of small but i enjoyed the dim lighting. I’d recommend going just be open minded and know there are several appetizers options but not as many entree.
Great neighborhood bar/restaurant for an evening out. The pastrami spring rolls were great!
Friday lunch was great. We had a burger, asian salad, bloody Mary’s. Nice atmosphere, a little loud. I like when there is water on the table so we can refill our own drinks. Good location, close to shopping!
I’ve been here a couple of times. Each time, I forget that they don’t have brunch on Saturday mornings. Only Sundays. It’s also not ever busy there. Both times I’ve visited, the patio seating was bare. The menu has some great options. Notable things I’ve had are the crab cake, the poke starter plate. Both were good, but are very small portions even for starters. The crab cake was over 12$-13$ for just the one. The poke “bowl” was like a scoop, maybe scoop and a half and it, too, was around the same price range. The service was okay, nothing that stood out.I do commend them for being one of the first few restaurants in Atlanta to stop using plastic straws so I’ll over look the overpriced bit. However, this could be a reason they’re typically a lot less busy than surrounding restaurants.
Been here many times for both regular meals and brunch, we have never been disappointed.New: Well I have finally been disappointed. I just tried the scallops for $22+ and I was majorly underwhelmed. 2 and 3/4 scallops on a bed of grits just did not cut it.
I have actually dined here several times! One time alone at the bar, and one time with my boyfriend at a table! Both times great. When I sat at the bar, Megan was my bartender, and she was great!!! I had the carpaccio and the roasted tomato ricotta bread thing they have. The carpaccio was not bad, it was just extremely oversalted. It needs only a quarter of the dijonnaise drizzle they have on top of it, and probably no salt at all. The capers provide the perfect amount of salt to the dish. I enjoyed the pear manhattan. It was really good! I had it on the rocks, and added a little simple syrup so it wasnt straight liquor. It tasted great, the cardamaro in it is my favorite part! I ended it with their amazing creme brulee!!!When we dined, we had the amazing asparagus fries, my favorite! We got 2 tavern chicken sandwiches and added swiss cheese and avocado to them, SO gooooood!!!! I had the kale caesar for my side which is delightful. He enjoyed the fries and I may or may not have taken a few myself lol. And of course again, ended it with the creme brulee. Daniel was our server and he did a great job and got us everything we needed.
The food is always great and the service is friendly. Cozy, low key vibe and a great bar and outdoor area. I wish the food came out faster but its worth the wait :)
