24 N Audley St, Mayfair, London W1K 6WD, Brunswick
Traditional corner pub with banquettes and pavement tables, for real ales and classic British food.
Really nice service, food was great, the vibe is really good.
Bit pricey, but excelent Fish & Chips. Very nice and cozy.
Nice pub near Oxford Street. Lots of good beer and other good drinks. Highly recommend visiting this pub.
Food was very dry. Staff were great though. Prices were pretty steep. Over £4 just for a glass of lemonade.
Fantastic service from Lana!Great food and good beer selection! A big must 😊
Good beer, but we got there at 15.30 pm and the kitchen was closed until 17. We left after 2 beers because we wanted to eat and we werent used in London with kitchen closed during lunch time. Also we stayed at the floor downstairs and there was no waiter so had to bring our drinks by ourself.
Pretty traditional pub and selection of beer, it was a busy Saturday though and bar service was slow. Great location though.
Well located pub. Nice food, but the service was disappointing. It took 30 minutes to deliver a fish and chips.
Highly recommend this lovely gastro pub in the centre of Mayfair. So well situated in this prestigious part of London … walking distance to Hyde Park and across the road from Selfridges. Lovely, welcoming staff; a special mention to Lana who provided excellent service with a smile. We will return!
Great pub, probably the best in the area. The staff is really nice, which makes all the difference!
Arrived to meet friends for a lunchtime drink, to find a queue of 10+ people at the bar and nobody behind it. There were 4 staff clearing plates/stacking glasses/going for a cigarette break etc, but nobody actually serving what was a ridiculously long queue of confused customers. I mentioned this loudly to another person in the queue, which brought the manager across to speed things up.She told me I was rude for mentioning it, and that they were short staffed. Suddenly 3 people were on the bar, until it was my turn to be served, when 2 disappeared again. When I said to my friend in the queue “oh she’s buggered off again now it’s my turn”, she shouted to the pub that I was refused service and had to leave.I’ve never seen such a ridiculous reaction for what was a reasonable comment - if you’re managing a pub, you need at least one of your staff on the bar serving customers. Sorry your professional failure needed to be projected onto your customers. We won’t be back!
we went there on Sunday the 19th of September (a day before the queens funeralevening till late it was packed and the atmosphere was great.
Please Do Not EAT HERE!! Took my family for a Pub experience in London and the food was uneatable.Food arrived after 40 minutesThe pie was so hard that it could not be cut with the knife.Super great Salad, didnt have what offered in the menu.Fish and chips/ turn into halloumi chreeseAnd we paid £2.5 for 4 olives.. as stated. Please refer to the attached pictures
Would never go back here. First of all, barely anything on the menu was available. When we were ordering our food, we were told the waitress didnt have all day, when I had to run out to tell her what table number we had, very rude, it wasnt busy at all.The food was terrible. The sandwiches with chicken and bacon, that on the menu looked like it had actual chicken and streaks of bacon, just had a premade spread on them that tasted like nothing. Next to it was some rocket that looked like it was tossed on the plate from a distance. The worst reason these tasted so bad though, was that the bread was old and crusty, not in a toasted way but in a this-is-a-week-old way. Could not finish it.When we wanted to leave the waiter asked how the food was and after telling him about the sandwiches he said yeah its not a favorite. Which was an understatement and a great way to promote your food!Avoid.
The food we got, when we got it was lovely. We arrived and were told food was a 30 to 45 minute wait and this was not a problem. I explained we had kids and so ordered garlic bread to come out ASAP to keep them happy. Unfortunately when the bread arrived 40 minutes later. The bread was frozen in the middle so we sent it back. It was then returned to us 40 minutes later with our meals. They missed our sides but we couldnt wait longer as we were booked for a tour so we ate what we had, and of course we were given a refund on the missed items. The food itself was really tasty and the portions were good. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff.
Awful pub. Service is a joke. 2 staff having a drinks break whilst there’s a queue out to street. Other bar person more interested in doing literally anything else but help the one bar tender out and serve a customer.
Nice place but had to queue for 20 min for a pint, only 1 young lady working hard alone
Look, cute pub, decent atmosphere.. but the food? Dreadful. Those nachos were horrible. How hard is it to mess up nachos??? (Also said serves two and was tiny???And the sandwich 🤢 spending so much money on the grossest food ever and I’m pretty easy to please !
We had to wait for more an hour for the food to be prepared (!), they only had warm and limited amounts of alcohol free drinks left and the dishes were dirty.
They had only about half what was on the menu both drinks and food. Something that really puts me off is that they serve the food to the waiting staff at the end of the bar next to the toilets. Also I expected the food to be of a certain standard being a Greene King but there was definitely some cross contamination in the kitchen as I had pieces of salad in my chips (not in my order).
A nice pub in Mayfair where you can drink a lot of different gin tonic. Generally busy
One of my favourite pubs in the area to meet for a drink! Sort of dark wood Gothic interiors and a gr8 atmosphere. Good beers and friendly staff. Upstairs and downstairs, so lots of room but can get crowded after work hours. Does gave a few tables outside as well. Try it out!
Popped in today, stood nicely at the bar waiting my turn with two barmaids serving, they served anyone who pushed in, walked out as did the guy next to me. Train your staff to see who next!
Good food and great beer. Pleasant and helpful staff, looking forward to my next visit.
Food took a long time to come out, people who ordered for more people after us got their food and had half eaten by the time our single meal had arrived. Good location but thats about it.
Simple pub done well. Friendly service, clean.DONT USE THE APP. Despite what the sign states, it took over half an hour and I had to queue for it.
A nice pub, but it took them more than 30 mins to prepare the food and, no surprise it was burnt.
Food was decent but was more like a North American chain type food, not what I have come to expect from a pub in the UK . It filled a hole, also beer was good and cold.
It was ok staff that serve me was very rude compare to the other server, the you lady light skin at the bar was not a nice person. Almost like she didnt want to be there.if you deal with people from other countries and cultures you need to be more flexible the other servers dark skin help me better , I would not recommend this pub. There are more better pub close by. Hope mgt will address this matter. Toni. Florida USA
Got a chicken salad sandwich and a few pints before we went to see the stones at Hyde park, great little pub with an upstairs and downstairs area. Food was great and beer was good too. Gets very busy but got served quickly and found a table downstairs.
First visit for almost 30 years. I used to regularly come here after work in the mid to late 90s.I was going to one of the events in Hyde Park & looking for somewhere to meet up with friends, some of whom wanted to eat a Sunday roast. As a CAMRA member I used their App to find a pub with food & a good choice of beer.Whilst I accept it was a busy day, the food portions were small & veg was unappealing to say the least.£13.80 for 2 pints of IPA in a squidgy plastic cup was a shock when I looked at my Mastercard account a few days later. The perils of the & go when needs must.Do I miss living in London? 🤫
Bad service and very poor food. Left half behind.
Nice pub to go to as a group however this is troublesome when you are on your own as the app did not work. It was showing all items as out of stock and the staff would not allow me to order from the table. By going up to the bar to order food, I lost my seat outside however I was able to get a table inside as a couple were just leaving. The food was great however. Very reasonable prices.
Excellent pub for drinks and fish & chips. Very crowded, but more pleasant in the basement. Only downside in most of the pubs, including this one, was that the kitchen was closed for an hour around 2 pm. Reason given : large outside order.
What a fantastic pub, lovely atmosphere, clean, polite and attentive staff. If you are in the West End, its worth a visit. A few mins walk from Selfridges and Bond Street Station. We enjoyed drinks outside in the sunshine, definitely recommend !!!
The interior is beautiful, but the staff is not very nice. I was first given a dirty cup inside, but I asked for it to be changed. It was dark in the gents toilet, the electricity doesnt work and it smelled strongly of urine, and a door was hinged.I do not recommend
It is disappointing that tourists in London might eat here and think it’s an accurate representation of London pub food. Today the steak and ale pie I ordered came within around 15min, but it had obviously been plated up long before I placed my order. The mashed potato had turned to the consistency of bread dough, with a dry hard crust on the outside. The pastry of the pie was more like a thick hard biscuit. There are worse pub lunches in London, but there aren’t very many. Wish I’d have thought to take a photo.
Good selection of beers but came with only about 45 minutes left before closing and the bouncer came by around 5 times to remind us to hurry up and get out. Kind of annoying but I get that people probably overextend their welcome too often! Family went there the day before and they said the food was great but i did not eat there so I cannot confirm for sure.
Pub food and Self service drinks bar. Real busy vibe with tables view the street as well as inside seating. Great to experience Fish Chips and mashy peas to a clear favorite which was sold old when we were there Nachos
Great pub … lots of outside seating and friendly staff. Good prices for drinks.
We stopped by for a drink before dinner. Reasonably priced for London. Bar service was quick and tables outside were cleaned quickly for the next guests. Availability of a few more chairs may have kept us a little longer.
Pretty good steak & ale pie, with soft thick cut fries. Typically meat pies taste bitter at times but not at this place, liked it.
Really decent pub with nice drinks and well priced food. The amount of chicken wings you get for the price is quite wow factor and they are nice too! We didnt get to finish ours, and they were glad to provide us with a box to go.
I went for a beer with a friend whilst walking up Oxford Street, the team were very friendly and happy to let us taste the IPA, which was clean and could tell they cleaned their lines regularly. The only real shock was to find the 2 pinta of 3.8% ale was £13.30! Didnt think Greene king had upped their prices that much, which is why Im not too pleased with the experience. Solid pub no doubt.
Had not the greatest of visits to Marlborough Head (Greene King Pub). The staff were average but friendly. However, the drinks service was lacking. The beer we requested was out of stock and no one said anything till after we ordered. Also, after ordering 2 drinks they arrived, half split on the table in terribly chipped glasses! (see picture of espresso martinis)The silver lining was their solid Covid19 policy following and test and trace!Check out my Bars London list for more reviews!
This was a nice place for a quick lunch. Prices were reasonable. We had the fish and chips which was nice. I didn’t understand why there was a piece of bread with the fish and chips.
Love salt beef toasted sandwiches, really takes me back to my days working in London it was my staple diet. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. We just walked off Oxford Street and there the pub was, we contemplated the juice bar opposite but made the right choice in the end. Service was quick and efficient and the food was spot on and exactly as expected, three of us had toasted sandwiches which were great.
Nice place for a quick bite. Had refreshing non alcoholic cider, chicken tikka which came in 5 minutes which I think was microwaved but still good and a salad. Have no complaints except at the rush hour people hover around you till you get up. Nice and attentive staff.
I was here twice last week during my walk down the Oxford Street. The pub is situated on a side street. You will see the red brick building from Oxford Street. The main floor is not too large. There is plenty of seating. I sat down and waited for a while. Nothing happened. Then I realized that I needed to order food and drinks at the bar giving them my table number.I got my beer and the food came a while later. On my first visit I had smoked salmon. It was nice. Very nice. A light meal, just what had wanted. The second time I was hungry. So, I ordered 3 saussages on mash potatoes and garden peas. It was too much. And bit too sweet. The beer was always good. People were friendly and service good.Washrooms are downstairs.
I would say, classic fish & chips with draft beer could never go wrong !Selections of draft beer are available and staff are nice, was even asked if I wanted to taste the local beers before making a decision. Not a bad place to wander into after all that shopping made in the area.
