UPDATE: I have patronized Marios on numerous occasions since my less than stellar review 5 months ago. I am pleased to report that the customer service was back to its high standards. Every employee I came in contact with was pleasant and helpful. I Love Marios Meat Market and Deli! Its the BEST anywhere!!5 month ago: After being a loyal patron of Marios Italian Meat Market for 25 years, writing this mediocre review doesnt come easy. Today, I was served at the meat counter by a tall, older, bespectacled man who is the first rude and unpleasant employee Ive encountered at Marios in all these many years. And, it wasnt just me. While I was waiting to be taken care of, he was being cantankerous with others, as well. Id be surprised if other complaints havent been made. Ive always found the employees at Marios to be friendly and helpful, but I did notice many new ones, so maybe a "customer service" reminder is in order.On a more positive note, the young lady at the deli is cheerful, professional, efficient, and courteous (as were the cashiers). She could teach the old guy a thing or two about treating the customer. (Name tags wouldnt be a bad idea, since I didnt get either of their names.)I love Marios (it is the BEST Italian market anywhere!!and will continue to be a loyal, regular customer. Please, dont let a rotten apple spoil it.

We are on vacation for the week and my father in law wanted some Italian cookin. We came here to get some lasagna, which my hubby and father-in-law really enjoyed. I got a stuffed pepper and it was very scrumptious as well. The canoli was so dangerously yummy! If you are on vacation and want a pre-cooked meal or need the meats to cook, come here! We went during the weekday so it wasnt too hectic but my father in law said that the weekend it is bumpin bumpin, so ladies leave your man at home. Haha

Spent a pretty penny on some large sirloin steaks from the meat counter. They looked very nice. But these turned out to be the worst quality of meat Ive purchased in the area. These were impossible to cut and horrible to try and chew. Never getting beef here. Where do they get their beef? Very disappointed to have spent this kind of money for such low grade meat.

HOLY CANOLLI! This place is AMAZING. Italian everything to the max. Great deli, deserts, and butcher area. The staff are SUPER FRIENDLY. We will be back... over and over and over again. Must stop in Fort Myers!

GREAT market. Awesome selection of pasta. Great bakery and deli! Prices are higher than your normal grocery but in most cases it’s worth it!

A friend and I went into Mario’s at lunch time and, after wandering around the shop for 45 minutes trying to narrow down our selections, we came out with a veritable treasure chest of entree items and pastries. When we arrived home, he started with Italian wedding soup and meat lasagna, while I had eggplant rollatini. He wasn’t a fan of the soup, which he said contained way too much chicken fat, but gave two thumbs up to the lasagna. Likewise, my thumbs were way up for the rollatini. We then moved on to dessert, which consisted of small slices or bites of sfogliatelle, cassata cake, linzer torte, lobster tail, and pignoli cookies. Yes, it’s true: We ate a little bit of every single one of them, and they were all fantastic, FANTASTIC. We agreed, though, that next time, we’ll skip the linzer torte. Sometimes sacrifices must be made!

I have been a trained professional chef for close to 50 years traveling throughout the USA , originally from the New York / New Jersey area.. Since relocating to SW Florida my wife and I are continually humbled and quite frankly blown away by Mario’s.. the veal,..sausages,deli, bread , olives, fresh mozzarella…sandwiches!!!!sauces!!!prepared foods, pasta fresh and unbelievably great real deal ravioli!!.the desserts, my buddy Norman Love Gelato...and the staff!!.. there is a heaven !!!..😎.. it’s right here in Fort Myers!!..thank you chef Mike .

As far as a shortage of real italian deli in south west Florida is concerned, Mario helps out big time. We are originally from NYC area, and this place is just like home. Great food, great service.This photo is of my favorite sub they have on the menu. Its called The Godfather. A healthy pile of prosciutto, thick cut fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and I add an extra long hot. Phenomenal.

Been coming here for years. Always grab a fresh loaf of bread. Awesome butcher selection. Awesome deli and prepared foods. My wife loves the fresh pesto.

I am from Northeastern Pennsylvania- Scranton, to be exact. And we have a lot of Italian delis and restaurants . Family owned businesses that make their own sauce , and each place is different because they are family recipes brought over from different parts of Italy.Living in Fort Myers, I miss this very much. Nothing compares to the restaurants and delis back home. That is, until now !Mario’s is like being back home! It’s family owned and run , which I love! I love supporting family businesses. Not only that, they have homemade desserts, and HOMEMADE MOZZARELLA! It is delicious!! They have homemade sauce and delicious meat that tastes way better than anything sitting on the grocery store shelves I can tell you that.They have an unbelievable hot deli section with amazing food every week and they also have homemade hoagies (we call them hoagies where I’m from. Here they call them hero sandwich or sub sandwich). Delicious no matter what you call them !! :-)I’m so happy to live right across the street I can walk over anytime just like I’m back home.Mario is such a nice man, he came over when I was checking out my groceries and it was so wonderful to meet the owner ::)It’s truly a special place. Authentic Italian food is hard to come by in SW Florida...but this place has it. Im from NY and very hard to impress. This place is awesome. I am here every week. Try the meatball Supreme sub. It will change your life.

Ordered platters for baby shower and the food was excellent. Guests raved about the food and appetizers, pricing reasonable also for today’s market. Will definitely use their services again. Julian who is in charge of orders was very helpful and easy to work with.

Small store, deli is great. Offer a lot of items for lunch and dinner, and the Italian desserts are yummy. Reminds me of Jersey food. Prices are little high, but worth it. They make great hoagies. Once u are in the store all the time. The workers are great, they get know you. Chris at the deli is super sweet. Nice guy who makes a great sandwich, and I enjoy saying hi to him. It makes feel like a regular! The workers are friendly and try to help you in the store, if you need it. It is a little market, where you can buy fresh meat. They have wines, spices, some produce, and other items. Fresh bread, frozen food selection. Worth checking out while you are here in Florida. To get your northern experience. Place is clean. I am here all the time.

We are ADDICTED to Marios. My staff got us hooked. We literally eat here every day and get a sub for dinner. Youll have to wait, but worth it. Grab a number and listen for it while your walking around. Staff makes you feel like family. They recognize you and make you feel good. We love the wraps!!! Actually got to meet Mario today. Love this place.

Staff are amazing!! The food is freaking awesome , clean ,fresh and gmo free. Some People say Disney land is the best place on earth well they havent been to Marios in fort Myers yet lol !!!!

On a more positive note, the young lady behind the deli counter is wonderful. She is cheerful, professional, courteous, and efficient. Nice little market ... you wouldnt expect the quality of meats they offer and fairly inexpensive if youre used to Marco Island prices. Well worth the drive ... Grilled their steak burgers for dinner ... waiting on their cakes for dessert.

Marios is the best! I wish Marios was in Wisconsin! Love all of the food. There is such a wonderful and surprising assortment of anything from sweets to meats. The deli counter makes absolutely out of this world sandwiches and other entrees and delicacies. Everything is always fresh. Made me feel just like I was back in New York :- There can be a wait - if you dont know the right people ;- but its worth it!

Wonderful full service deli, butcher and Italian specialty grocery. Top quality, great service and very fair prices for the high quality. Great fresh made food and sandwiches as well.

Fabulous quaint Italian specialty market... Lots of great quality deli meats and cheeses to choose from plus the fresh salads, olives, bakery goods and fresh meats. Every time I go I get great service and and just love all their pastas, sauces, jarred products, etc. Parking lot is super busy with limited spaces so get there early or later in the afternoon. In the photo, everything but the beer and liquor came from Marios, even the wine!!! Mangia!!

Being Sicilian living in SW FL there isnt quite the combination of a local family owned Italian market/deli - Marios has been our ONE AND ONLY place to go! They offer genuine Italian specialties and SO MUCH MORE! Being native to NJ all of my life - having Marios makes my family and me feel closer to home where real FOOD exists! Thank you ALWAYS for feeding our souls. Staff is always so wonderful and hopefully knows us now as we have been loyal customers for over 4 years! The fact there is "REAL BREAD" says it all. Delli foods really pricey. $10/2 meatballs, $9/1square eggplantEverything in delli $10 or more a pound. Even salads. Small container if beef juice $5. Every store gives you juice free when you buy the beef. All looks good but very pricey. Took home 2 dinners for me and wife cost me $78.

Just discovered this store! So happy to find a legit Italian store with many of the high quality items I found in the DC suburbs. Excellent butcher! Great deli!

Best Authentic Italian meat market and Deli probably outside of Italy and likely better than most there as well. Incredible marinaded mozzarella, stunning fresh breads and an beautiful selection of meats, and imported products.. do yourself a favor and grab one of thier sub sandwiches. Youll never eat at a Jimmy Johns or any other sub shop without comparing them ti Marios again.

Great place for Italian classics! They have a nice bakery, good desserts, and the staff is friendly.If youre like me and have been looking for a pipette of canoli cream to shotgun for yourself, this is your place! Nothing has been bad yet.

The store was well stocked with lots of Italian delicacies. The eggplant sub was delicious! All the employees we encountered were friendly and very helpful. The meat department has a wonderful selection. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the sausage. Marios will be added to our favorite places in Ft. Myers.

What a wonderful experience. The deli is very busy but the products and service are worth the wait. Their bakery has a variety of pasteries and breads and the meat department has the finest cuts of meats. Well worth the trip.

What can I say, the best Italian market around! The meats are great, subs are fantastic! The selection of deserts is fantastic and plentiful! My favorite is the Casata cake!! You cant go wrong here. Just make sure you have a little time, there is always a line because its so good!

Authentic Italian grocery and deli. They have many imported Italian goods. They make their own fresh bread, which is delicious 😋 I highly recommend the Italian Sub from the deli. Employees were all friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Marios hit it out of the park. Real Italian specialties as well as superb meats and cheese. Their dessert selection was amazing. I felt like I was back at grandmas house on a Sunday. You have to try it!

What a gem. Proprietors that bring businesses like this to town should be emblazoned as saints. So many imports and hand crafted specialties available. This was on my list prior to arrive to Fort Myers but we didn’t make a visit until our last couple days - what a mistake. I would have loved to have some of the fresh Italian bread for hero’s or even some of the prepared foods for lunch / dinner. Will be one of our first stops next time we’re in town. Worth the drive, worth waiting in any line...total treasure.

I was very excited to go to Marios after hearing a great many good things from friends and coworkers. They were very responsible with limiting customers inside the store in response to COVID-19.They had a nice selection of Italian groceries and a great deli.I picked up four pieces short rib, brought it home, opened the packaging up after 4 hours in the fridge, one of the pieces was slimy and had greyish/brown splotches inside and outside and smelled bad. Its disappointing going to a meat market and getting served bad meat. Otherwise, I did enjoy visiting the market.

Wall of lunchmeat, cheese, olives and prepared foods. Italian sundries. Fresh beef, chicken, pork and sausage. Grated Romano cheese, pastries, Italian bread and basically all things Italian that you can eat! Very crowded on Fridays, take a number as soon as you arrive.

As usual great quality of product and service I have come to expect at Mario’s. Even packed on a Saturday employees were attentive and helpful. Great selection whether you are there for butchered meats, the deli, pasta, or desserts the selection is fantastic! If you are in the “market” for great product and service check out Mario’s on 41.

Wonderful place to get a hero, or take out dinner. If you are a carnivore, this is a must stop shop. They also have vegetable lasagna, potato croquettes, rice balls, twice baked potatoes, broccoli, artichokes, roasted veggies AND MORE, for those who prefer veggies.

There is something so special about this place. If you love quality food and the nostalgia of a boutique market, you’ll love it. Great place for lunch. Hearty and filling sandwiches could be easily split between 2 people. AND don’t get me started on the fresh bread and dessert options! I’d give it 6 stars on that alone!

Marios has the best meats and ready to eat meals. I love the chicken marsala and broccoli rabe, its nice to be able to get good consistent food on nights I cant cook. Be sure to grab a deli number when you walk in, and have your order ready. Know what you want before they service you. The wait can be long so try going at off times between lunch and dinner to have the best experience.
