Mariensäule in Grevenmacher

Quite a hike up the hill but definitely worth the effort,or you can drive up and take the stairs for the last 100 metres, stunning views of Trier but you cant see much of the actual statue from there

A serene location with a beautiful view to the city of Trier from the opposite bank of Moselle. Being here not only makes it serene but also divine. You would have a feeling that someone is really watching over you.The hike trail to reach here is pretty steep. I would not recommend it you dont have the right gear. Alternative, you could take a public transport to top. A minibus/van no 10 runs to the top of the hill. You have to check the VRR or the local transport timings because this runs only one few days and that too during limited time slots.

Fantastic views over Trier. Short walk up some big steps from the small car park.It is possible to walk up from Trier, but very steep.

Ein wunderbarer ruhiger Ort, um sich einen Überblick über Trier und der tollen Landschaft zu verschaffen. Der Ort ist, mit Ausnahme des letzten Anstiegs, gut mit dem Fahrzeug zu erreichen. Die letzten etwa 10-15 Höhenmeter müssen über Treppen überwunden werden und könnte für Ungeübte etwas anstrengend sein. Ob es einen separaten Weg für Rollstuhlfahrende gibt, habe ich leider nicht gesehen.

Een kleine moeite om hier even heen te rijden! Allereerst al leuk om de smalle weggetjes te rijden en een kleine klim te maken van ongeveer 60 tredes.Het uitzicht is echt fantastisch!! Vooral bij helder weer kun je ver kijken. Maar ook over de gehele stad!Parkeren kan naast de straat in de berm, betreft een zeer rustige straat dus geen zorgen voor de drukte!

Zu Fuß ist der ca. 3km lange Anstieg auf 300m Höhe aus der Trierer Innenstadt in ca. 45 Minuten zu schaffen. Die nördliche Route führt durch den roten Felsen und danach entlang einer kleinen Straße, die südliche Route ist etwas länger und führt größtenteils durch den Wald über eine teilweise recht steile Treppe in größtenteils schlechtem Zustand.Oben angekommen wird man mit einem grandiosen Ausblick über Trier, die Mosel und das Umland belohnt.

Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto ist schon ein Abenteuer, wenn man die Mariensäule endlich gefunden hat wird man von einem traumhaft schönen Blick über Trier belohnt.

Zeker de moeite waard om even te bezoeken als je in Trier bent. Prachtig uitzicht over de stad Trier

Wer sich traut und auch einigermaßen fit ist, dem empfehle ich die „Himmelsleiter“ zu nehmen – den ehemaligen Waldweg bzw. eher Kletterpfad, der an der (leider geschlossenen und langsam verfallendenMaría-Hilf-Kapelle vorbei führt. Er geht über ca. 170 Höhenmeter im Zickzack durch den dichten Wald und endet an den Sandsteinklippen hoch oben bei der Mariensäule. Ist aber nicht ganz ungefährlich und auch nur bei Trockenheit zu empfehlen….

Really good views over the Mosel valley. I enjoyed the horses.

Sehr schöne Aussicht auf Trier. Wunderschön im Sonnenuntergang. Leider keine wirklichen Parkplätze vorhanden, also sinnvoll zu Fuß zu besuchen.

Geweldig uitzicht over de gehele stad. Als ik nog eens terug kom in Trier neem ik een deken, fles wijn en een pizza mee om van de rust en het uitzicht te genieten!

Schöner Ort. Schöne Aussicht auf die Römerbrücke, auf die Stadt Trier als auch auf die Mosel und die Weinberge 😍Parkplätze sind am Rand der Straße verfügbar. Jedoch nicht extra gekennzeichnet als solche. Wenn man in trier ist, sehr empfehlenswert 👍🏽

It has a magnificent view. The whole of Trier is easily visible. Not suitable for disabled access. It is approximately 2.5 km from the center of Trier. I recommend that you go on foot.

After a steep and narrow drive to this location we finally found the steps to this place. Some of the steps are in a bad condition without some kind of fence. The view over Trier is amazing. This place is not accessible for wheelchairs.

It’s a bit of a walk to get up here but well worth it. You can see the whole of Trier from this point!

I went there when there was a fog so I couldnt see anything ;but there is an information board up there that explains everything you can see (if theres no fog).

Fantastic place to hike, walk or drive. Spectacular vire of Trier. Free small parking. Bring your food and drink, take rubbish away. Wear warm, prepare for shower. Good people.

Really2 good place with good view. But for women if u wanna go to this place ? Don’t use higheels, not recommended 🤗

Its easy to get there by car and the view is very nice. Theres no dedicated parking lot, so everyone parks on the side of the road or on the sidewalk. Of course, you can get there also by foot or by bus. It is impossible though to get there in a wheelchair or with a stroller, as the are done stairs to climb
