Best Fish and Chips in Battersea

I asked and paid for cod and chips and was given a piece of fish that was brought from out the back that looked like it had been in the cabinet and taken out because it was so rotten. It wasnt cod,more like some sort of flat fish because it was flat. Wont be going back.

Appalling. Horrible tasting doner. Not warm although being a few minutes away. Worst of all. Ordered meat, chips and sauce… sans SAUCE. GROSS DONER MEAT WITH NO SAUCE. Like… I wouldn’t be so annoyed if I had condiments in my house but NO SAUCE WHYYYY. Called them and no cares given. Do jot order from this place. Or have sauce at the ready.

Love love this shop, the staff are lovely, the fish and chips are amazing, always freshly cooked. I would definitely recommend you try out this shop ☆☆☆☆☆I dont mind travelling from far to go to this shop, its worth it!

Seriously?! I have ordered countless xl doner kebabs in countless places before, but this shop gave way too much! I could only eat 1/3 and was already full.

I love this place. It is the perfect fish and chips. I have had takeaway fish and chips from hear for about two years and each time it has been great quality, fresh tasting and good sized hot portions. It is lovely that the traditional chippy is going strong in this part of London. I am so glad I found it. A Gem!

One of a kind. Spot on service. They made me feel like I always had their attention. Every step of the way and I ended up with the perfect kebab. Made me want to go back for seconds. Truly a kebab shop that isnt known. Im going almost every day now

Ordered rock salmon and chips fish smelt of ammonia had to throw the lot in the bin its a shame because Ive used marias for many years and never had a problem but I will not be ordering fish ever again a waste of £10.

The best chip shop Ive been to in years perfect staff service and top quality food, food ordering apps dont give all the options but they are happy to accommodate if you call and are friendly and very accurate with what you want. 10/10 foodgasm

Amazing fish and chips. Fresh and hot despite being delivered. Previous lived just a cross the road from Marias and never had to complain or dislike the food. The only place I would buy fish and chips from. Excellent for over 20 years.

Been having Marias in Falcon Road, SW11 for a couple of years ordering from deliveroo and the last 2 orders have been not edible the most recent being today Saturday 26/2/2022.Todays order cold chips which obviously had been left for some time as they were hard and the fish was black on top and underneath and went straight in the bin. This is the 2nd order now that hasnt been edible so will not be using again because this would not be served over the counter like this because no person would accept it.

I have been coming here for over 12 years on regular basis; never had a bad experience. The service and food are always amazing with the staff being polite and generous. I recommend this a lot as it is super clean ; and your food is always done fresh off the stove.

Fish delicious and fresh, batter tastes as if the oil hasnt been changed in three weeks, mushy peas some disgusting green broth that you wouldnt wish on your worst enemy.. But again, will go back for the fish.

Ordered via Just Eat but my order never arrived. Phoned the restaurant who told me they had just thrown my order in the bin and the driver wasnt coming. Such an awful waste of food for absolutely no reason. Still got charged for it though obviously, such scumbags

Absolutely fantastic food!! Mum says she has just had the best cod she has ever tasted and she is 80! I had a Cornish Pasty and chips which was blooming tasty!! Phenomenal food, beautifully cooked, portions on the generous side and prompt on time delivery. Very competitively priced and excellent value for money. Highly recommend.

Used Just eat.. 1st time round, ordered cod & chips.. The food was Nice.. Used just eat 2nd time round.. Ordered the same plus curry sauce.. The Fish was cooked perfectly & Chips were fresh & plenty.. It was absolutely delicious.. Even the curry sauce.. Yummy 😋

Best fish & chips but its just a shame the delievery fee is, £2.49 on top of an order for £10 or more. It never used to be so i do order from else where instead. Maybe charge extra for ordering under £10 & on top of that im not even 3 miles away. Most places are free delivery within 3 mile radius.

The best fish and chips, kebabs and service in Wandsworth. Well established Hindus cooking great food. The meat is Halal which is good for the local Muslim community. Yummy mummys may be intimidated to go in, but its theyre loss they need to start integrating and understand that Wandsworth is a multi diverse area and Marias has been there since the dawn of time.

Literally the best fish and chips in London. Ive ventured to other places but its never as good. Its my go to takeaway, Never disappoints. Perfect fish and perfect chips every time. Absolute bonus that its a great price.

It was a Friday and very busy. Lots of delivery riders in and out. Used to be very good. I hadnt had fish & chips from a chip shop for a couple years. Late..ish on my way home thought Id pick some up. Fish was nice, batter was greasy and chips pale and soggy.

Just ordered from Uber Eats, been craving fish and chips for a while now and this came and hit the spot. I loved the handy box it came in👍🏾👍🏾👌🏾Fish fried to perfection and chips salted just right.Thanks guys. One happy girl over here. Now time to siesta before this heat takes me out 😁😁

Best fish and chips in the Clapham Junction area, and Ive tried most plaices (sorry). Theres a very friendly, efficient team behind the counter offering generous, tasty portions at reasonable prices. And its busy, so your fish is always freshly fried.

Possibly South West Londons best fish and chips. Certainly the punters think so, as its always busy. Quick service nonetheless as a seemingly impossible number of staff behind the counter rush to fulfill your order. Fish is the high point - always fresh and top notch batter. Kebabs and burgers complete the lineup.

Ordered from here for the first time today, arrived very quick and was absolutely bloody gorgeous! The fish (Rockwas so soft Menlo in your mouth and the chips were out of this world. Would definitely order from there again!

Average at best. The food itself was okay, although the fish could definitely be crispier. That said, the portion sizes we received were tiny - judge for yourself: Ive attached a photo of a Large cod and chips. It was literally smaller than some child portions Ive seen elsewhere. Wont be recommending.

They had HP sauce on display. When we asked for it, they said it is a closed bottle and it is only for display. Why would you do that? It is not a very expensive thing.Also, the sitting place is horrible. The walls feel like toilet walls.The taste is not too bad, its decent.

The fact that the place is always packed with a line coming out of the door says it all. The chips are some of the best around and the fish is always really fresh. There are always 4 or 5 guys behind the counter so service is normally very quick. The owner and the 2nd in charge are also super nice and know all the reagulars (like me)

Probably the only decent fish in chip shop in the area (not saying muchjust your regular takeaway nothing special. They had a shop in Wandsworth bridge road which I found better, the fried chicken has gone downhill. Doner kebabs are great portion size wise but very very greasy.

Good food and brilliant prices but poor handling of a simple issue.Recently went and ordered food and paid by contactless. After a good 20min wait (our order seemed to have been forgotten), food was ready and we left only to be chased down the road to say we hadnt paid. I was with my mum who use crutches and we had gone quite far from the shop. I was advised to leave my mum leaning on a wall and return to pay (this was at about 22:30and the request did not seem optional.Returned to pay and stated that Im sure it had already gone through. I had my concerns dismissed and the owner said it hadnt gone through due to network so I paid once again.Lo and behold, Ive been charged twice.There are so many ways this could have been handled better and its really disappointing because Ive been a big fan of Marias for over 15 years.Definitely go and try their delicious food, just beware that customer service may take a back seat if there is an issue (which may be rarely because theyre usually very good).

Very clean. Well organised. Staff very friendly. On Deliveroo, Uber eats and just eat. Chips are generous portions and taste just as ‘fish and chips’ chips should. The fish is also generous sizes. I think I prefer the haddock to the cod as it doesn’t have the bottom skin bit on. Always busy and very popular. Won local awards for local restaurants :)

Busy, always packed by customers and representatives of delivery companies waiting for take away orders.Simple, usual concept of a fish & chips restaurant but according to the opinion of locals and visitors its so far one of the best in the area.Consequently, you can find here always freshly prepared food to take away or eat in prepared and served by competent and friendly staff.Can just recommend.

Everyone is so happy and helping here. Food is delicious and served in an acceptable time. I went once, was so blown away I had to go again.

Thanks to my train being cancelled I had over an hour to wait so went to get some food, finding Marias did some what make up for this. A great kebab, lovely seasoned meat and something very rare, it was all put inside the pitta so when youd eaten enough of it you could pick it up and eat it as a kebab unlike lot that just throw it all on top of the pitta. Very nice kebab indeed, thoroughly enjoyed it

Its not often il have fish and chips as a Friday night treat but when I do I come here, the portions are generous the fish delicious and the chips never dry. Ive been coming since they opened. Would recommend.

Love it here... Great staff and been going here for 15 years and wont stop. Great job Mr Marias. Love your chicken kebabs and chips. Salad is always fresh and able to buy the vinegar bottles too.
