Margaritas Mexican Restaurant in Concord

Well I used to go here years ago, but its changed. I was there on a Wed wasnt that busy I was at the bar for a chicken salad it took a very long time to be waited on then my chicken taco salad wasnt what I remembered, sad but true.

Delicious food, great location!Id also like to note that the nicest waiter in the world works here. I cannot remember his name :( I wish I could! He is so attentive and kind and is really delightful to talk with.

The wait time was long so we decided to sit by the bar. The service was great and the food was good!

Love the food. Best Mexican restaurant in town. Too bad on this glorious September day their patio is closed. We get it that there is a staff shortage, but were sitting outside at Tandys with good but slow service but at least were sitting outside on this gorgeous afternoon at 3:45 pm sipping a beer. Poor management decision.

After a slight mix up with my order, I called the restaurant where I was directed to speak with Stephanie, the manager. She was super compassionate and professional. I went back to the restaurant where I was given the missing items to my taco salad, plus a couple of dressings to try, as well as a complimentary bag of chips and a generous container of queso. Not only that, but I was also given a coupon for $ off on my next visit. Thank you Stephanie for being so kind and absolutely wonderful. You made my experience worthy of 5 stars!

Very cool place! The prison doors and cells are all still there! Definitely worth a trip to go to!

Really hot day, we lived the food and drinks. Enchiladas are my favorite. Vegan Enchiladas are options too. Feel cool to see jail cells where people can eat. Really upbeat waitress.

Terrible experience. Queso was clearly reheated/half curdled. Lettuce wasnt washed had visible dirt. I emailed to complain, no response.

Unique building with some local history! Great drinks and atmosphere. Didnt try the food but everything I saw served looked tasty.

Amazing, authentic, delicious food. Everything is reasonably priced and the specialty margaritas are dangerous in all the best ways.

We have been coming to Margaritas in Concord for years. The atmosphere, food and drinks are amazing but the best part of our visits is getting to see our favorite server, Fallon. She knows my boys orders by heart. Shes professional, attentive and makes every visit enjoyable.

Our recent visit to Margaritas left us very disappointed. I ordered chicken fajitas; the flavor was bland and the portion was ridiculously small for the price. It wasnt just the meat, but the vegetables too - this surprised me because usually restaurants will "beef up" a meal with more veggies. My beans and rice were burnt and stuck to the dish. My husband was also disappointed in his food. We have eaten at this Margaritas off and on for years now and were surprised because this hasnt been the case previously. 3 stars due to better past experiences (1+ years ago.)

Very interesting location! Seems like an old jail inside. Nice small private areas for good conversations. Great service...attentive & quick.The food portion sizes were surprisingly smaller than expected & previously.I had the taco salad with chicken. It tasted great but there was barely any lettuce. The salad didnt even fill the taco shell bowl.....

Server was great respectfull guy.food was very niceIt was very very loud.music being played doesnt fit the restaurant.i suggest that should remove that jukebox out of the bar area.i couldnt listen a word of the person that I was with and didnt enjoy much my date

Good food for a decent price. The old jail vibe was unique and fun. The kids meals included fajitas and nachos which the kids liked. The grilled corn was great. The taco salad was more taco than salad... Like maybe a cup of lettuce and then all the other toppings. It really needed more lettuce, which you wouldnt normally hear from me. The chimi was delicious though.

So I ordered the VEGETARIAN burrito via the VEGETARIAN part of the menu online and got a burrito with steak in it, so it would have been good had I not have to pick out a bunch of steak from it, had I known margaritas hated vegetarians I wouldn’t have ordered from here. IM SO TIRED OF THIS HATRED!!!!😡😡😡

Always great food and atmosphere, exquisite and full of fresh flavor! So much incredible history here, also is right in the heart of downtown Concord. Staff is especially helpful, kind and checks in on you often. Daniel was our waiter and hes extraordinarily helpful and explained a lot to us! Very hospitable. Plan on returning next time Im in Concord.

5 of us ended up here from the dive bar down the road. "The Don" a drink I ordered came with a *floater* but, there was no floater, they said it was already in the drink, so Im not even sure if it was!?!? That was suspect! The food mediocre, just got apps, nacos and fried icecream. Place is cool lay out wise. Private settings inside faux jail cells, aka nooks with nice dark lighting. Bar was busy. We ended up here for a nightcap awaiting an uber and the snifters they served them in were sticky and finger-printy.... sent back, drinks were comped on the house. That was nice of them. Not a place for a 1st date, 2nd date or ever date... a place you end up when nothing else is open around the area for food! Reminded me of Chilis or Sam Diegos!

10/10 for the awesome interior, flavorful food, amazing drinks, and great service.Our server was very sweet and helpful. They have great vegetarian, vegan and gluten free oltions too.

This is the realest review you will get on this place. My girlfriend and I came into town from cape cod for a night. We had gone out to a few places before here for drinks and we were hungry going in. The food, was ok. Its not going to wow you and make you have dreams about it. The service was mediocre, not horrible but could have improved. Where this place failed for me was the bar. We both ordered very simple drinks, a respado tequila and a bourbon. The snifters our drinks came in were filthy. Not just a little smudge here or there but gods honest truth, food still stuck on the outside kind of dirty. The manager came over and said she would handle it. The glasses she brought back, werent snifters but regular glasses and even they were still dirty. Sticky fingerprints, as in, you could see the fingerprint pattern from the last person who used it. The bottom of my glass sticky and we just gave up at that point. Needless to say, we wont be going back there, even if it is the only place with a kitchen still open.

I ordered takeout and asked for, and paid extra for quacamole and queso, neither of which was with my order. The rice was so hard I could barely chew it, it was not cooked enough. The enchiladas I ordered were pretty good. I wouldnt order from them again.

This place is absolutely mind blowing. Interior/atmosphere is super unique and adorable. Food is amaaaaazing, and the drinks are both strong and delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful.Id give this place 6 stars if I could. Definitely going back.

Some chains start committed. Margaritas over the years is hit or miss at best,except for the old stand by in Concord,NH.The old jail style ambience.It is New England,dont expect exquisite taste.The staff goes out of there way to bring it to you,well trained,courteous.Salsa sucks,carne asada is good (grilled).Street corn is delicious.Margaritas...will light you up.Pricey.

We got take out tonight (WednesdayI was told the order would be done in 15-20 minutes. We gave them 25 minutes. Got there, its not done. It took them an additional 25 minutes. From order placed to pick was an hour when we were told 15-20 minutes. That is just crazy. I know things are difficult right now, but that is unexceptable. Got home, everything in the order was correct. Kudos for that. Unfortunately, my husband found a strip of white plastic in his beans. Gross. Not to mention the food was just blah. Overall not a great experience, we will not be returning.

I wasnt going to write a review because everyone should get some slack and its a bonus to me if you even show up for work so kudos! However, I slept on this and it really bothered me. This is one of my favorite places to eat so last night when we went to dinner it was so disappointing.We had no wait (greatand got seated in a jail cell (also great).The menu has so badly deteriorated from what they use to have pre-covid. We could of dealt with that though we understand. what I cant understand was when my husband ordered the steak Chimis and there was 1 piece a small cube in it and the rest was all beans. He has a phobia of sending back food so he ate it. My dinner was good and so was our sons but our waitress who only came back to our table once never offered refills on our drinks or our waters. we had 1 soda and 1 water for the entire meal time.The other waitress was very attentive but we were not her responsibility. Very unfortunate because I really do love this place but probably wont go back for the 100 we spent it was not worth it. So disappointing. :(

Normally Im very impressed by the portions that you get from Margaritas when you eat in the restaurant, but I recently purchased the take out family dinner deal called Loaded Chicken Baby Chimis and wasnt impressed at all. I ordered the family of four dinner as you can choose 2, 4, or 6 people, but the amount of food we got only fed two people and it cost almost $55.00 after tax. I can go to the 99 Restaurant and get one of their family meal deals for $40 plus tax and it fed 3 people for three days. Do not waste your money on the Family Dinners offered in the online take-out menu! I rarely leave reviews whether they be good or bad, but I felt like I needed to let people know so that they dont waste their money.

The food was too good 😋 The Ambience was amazing. Perfect place to stop when you are visiting for fall colors.We ordered- Jalapeños Baby Chimis (5/5)- Nachos (5/5)- Enchiladas Banderas (4/5)- Roasted Vegetable Zarape (5/5)Everything was super yum!

We came here late night, we supposed to join with jail room but is to late, we decided to sit in the bar and we ordered some food same like shrimp salad This dish very good and chicken wrapped not bad, wine margarita and one shot of patronMy friend drinks 4 margaritas she said really good, I love to eat soI love shrimp salad, so we will be back , if you need some places to drink, I’m recommend you can come here

Good drinks and food; do know that many of the dishes are properly spicy, ask before ordering if thats not something you will enjoy.

While coming back from Vermont we decided to try Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. In the restaurant all the Covid-19 rules were followed. Even the server before giving us the menus sanitized it and we were given a specific table. I really liked the atmosphere as well as the decor of the restaurant. For the first chips and salsa were given. This salsa was different than the other mexican restaurant as it was fresh plus chunky and little spicy. For the dinner we ordered Hectors quesadilla and cheese enchilada with chicken. The service was fast and our food came in next 10 minutes and even the server was very good. She treated us very well. Had an order of Carne Asada to go, the meat was well cooked. However the beans had no flavor at not even salt, Rice was under cooked. The $10 Guacamole also had no flavor: no lime, no cilantro, and no salt. Attendant was friendly, however didn’t include utensils or napkins. Perhaps if we stayed at the restaurant and had some margaritas the lack of flavor wouldn’t be as noticeable. It’s concerning as this is a highly rated restaurant, and I’ve selected best recommended dishes.

The service was good and the food was good, the jail cell atmosphere was absolutely awesome!The naked jalapeño margarita was awesome AND SUPER SPICY!

Staff was great but the food was not as good as I had in the past. Refried beans where not creamy. Tasted like they where not fully cooked. Chimichangas was half the size from the last time I was their. Portion size might be related to the Covid fiasco. All in all a good experience but was disappointed in the refried beans!Im from CA and love Mexican food. Still my favorite Mexican restaurant in Concord.

Had a great time, our waitress Stephani was amazing! Her sense of humor really was on point and she made sure everything was just right. The blood orange margarita was very good as was the "Mexican flag". If you are looking for good Mexican food in a lively atmosphere Id recommend coming here!

Unique setting with the old jail being converted over. Food and drinks were pretty good. Bar staff was very hard at first to get a drink from, just didn’t pay attention well. The bar area its self was very loud and the music got louder as the night went on.

While in town visiting a friend took my kids and I here because who doesnt want to eat in an old prison cell?? Such a cool experience. The atmosphere was really cool and even my kids loved it. The staff was friendly, patient and helpful and the food and drinks were top notch!

First time in NH and first time trying this restaurant and it was delicious! I’m from Texas so naturally finding some good ole Tex-Mex is hard to come by, but this place did it justice! Even the atmosphere was cool especially eating in a “jail cell” was a very unique experience! Service was great too. Fast and food was hot! Only nit pick I have was the rice seemed like it needed a bit more cooking time, but other than that 5 stars! Would love to come back! 🙂

We have been going to this restaurant for many years. Over the years we have celebrated many birthdays and other occasions. The atmosphere is perfect for a celebration of many or just two. The staff has always done there best to make our time with them great. We have enjoyed numerous menu items and drinks. Of course we love their salsa.

Had a great time with my family. The food was amazing. We stopped going to the ones closer to home because of the quality of the food. But the one in the old Concord police station the food was amazing and the service was great. It was so cool to be able to sit in an old jail cell to eat dinner. It was great. I would give it 10 stars if I was able to.

The wait staff is very attentive and good ...I went in on a Wednesday, it was trivia night. The music was just ok..90s grudge and loud. I ordered the. Nachos and they were good .My daughter ordered the steak burrito and it was just alright. You always get free chips and salsa . Tuesday has an all you can eat too night.

Great food in a cool atmosphere. The restaurant is located in the old concord jail, completely renovated with some inmate cells kept as 4 top dining areas. I will say the cells are a bit tight, but a cool dining experience.Also food is great and our service was 👍👍

Abysmal. Though (and I cant stress this enoughthe service was excellent, the food is extremely poor. I wish the chicken in my taco could be described as tasteless, but it actually had an unpleasant stale taste, as if it had been sitting around all day. The tacos arrived cold and limp, with refridgerator cold soft flour tortillas. Though the rice and beans that came with them were palatable, the tacos themselves had to be smothered in hot sauce and drowned in the mediocre dry rice to mask the flavor of the chicken. Then, (since this was taco Tuesday and Im not about to waste 10 dollars on 3 tacosI proceeded to get the beef softshell tacos. The tacos arrived similarly cold, however the beef its self seemed to hold a vestigial core temperature, like a piece of dung about an hour after it was vacated. Though it had a similar consistency to the aforementioned dung, it tasted alright. Though the spices used were far from Mexican, southwestern or any other denomination of this particular genre of food, they were adiquite for an above average meatball. The next round (because I hate myselfwas hardshell beef tacos, since I didnt trust the chicken not to give me some sort of colonic explosion the next day. These came warm, though not warm enough to melt the cheese, and without lettuce. They were the best of the bunch, and if at the end of this review Id recommended taco Tuesday to you, Id recommend them exclusively. The only, and I mean ONLY reason for the second star is my excellent waitress Cassandra. Cassandra is a good employee, and she and the person who hired her deserve recognition, because other than her service Id give this place one star and unleash another paragraph of malase on to it.
