Beautiful little gem hidden in what seemed like a very random spot. Definitely worth the stop

Great little place to have a picnic and relax. There is a steep trail to get to the waterfall but onece there there is a rock overhang area large enough to set up for a picnic. If you want to swim there are large rocks in the water so you need to have some good sandals on. There are a few places that have a rope hanging down for jumping but I wouldnt suggest it too many rocks close to the surface and you could get hurt pretty bad.

Great spot to swim, rope swing, ad jump off the cliff. However, there is a lot of remnants of glass from parties that have taken place there. Nice and quiet but could use a good cleaning up.

I love this place. So do my kids. Tranquil as long as you go at the right time.

Little Hidden Gem! Super low-key at times, and very laid back. Its small but it has a little bit of everything youd want at a place like this. Only an hour from Decatur and 45 minutes from Hartselle its highly recommended.

Nice waterfall and swimming hole.

A "hole" lot of fun! We are new to Alabama and are granddaughters came to visit this summer. Google the fishing hole nearby and Mardis falls popped up. Our teenage grandkids (and mehad so much fun they begged to stay longer and to go again. Its beautiful and panoramic.There is a rope to swing into the water. The waterfalls are beautiful. Depending on whether or not there has been rain will determine how deep the water is. I also recommend children be 5 years and older due to the rocks and access to the swimming hole. The trail to walk down to the swimming hole is a rocky trail and there is no beach front.No actual parking lot. But there are a limited number of places to pull over off the road (roughly 10 cars).

Beautiful place. Waterfall is incredible. Lots of hiking trails/ multi places to get in Water swim. Have swing ropes throughout.Only thing would do different is bring some bug spray and a couple fold up chairs to sit by river.

It was creepy down there I stayed for maybe a hour before getting spooked lol but it was clean and beautiful cant believe there wasnt more people there

Great waterfall in a local spot. Looks like a nice swimming hole for the hot weather with even a swing rope. Be aware I went in Feb and still bugs galore. Easy walk to falls and ample parking on off season, no one was there.

Absolutely beautiful! A few rocks to climb down. Be careful... also a little bit of graffiti but the fall is gorgeous!

Great outdoor place for summer swimming and photography. Please continue to keep it clean by putting your trash into the bins. Plenty to explore. There were some bees near the parking area last time I was there.

Was not expecting such a pretty neat place. Looks like a great little swimming hole in the summer time. Small parking area for about 10 cars. Not a far walk to the falls from parking area. Trail follows stream but we didnt get to walk it today. Definitely need to come back and explore.

Went there today. Was quite beautiful. Jot sure if it was the trash by it or the people there. But something smelled horrible. Also encountered several copperheads. So be on the look out if you go here. Saw two right by the big falls. One big one and one baby. This was within the first 30 minutes of getting there.

This place was Awesome and not because we share the same name!! If you go here with your family dont forget to take some tubes...there is a gradual slope with some swift moving water. It looked like fun!! Will go again next time we are in town and will take some!!

Nice area. Beautiful waterfall & stream. Seem like a hotspot for local - so many families were swimming when i was there.

Unique, simple,small, and superb water fall in country side, fairly unknown. Also, covered by canopy, so not direct sunlight. Amazing place for kids. However do not take risk direct under fall that is much deep and dangerous.

This was a surprise day just for me from my husband for Mothers day. He knows how much I love the beauty of water falls. Mardis Falls is absolutely beautiful and tucked away where you would never even know it was there unless you mapped it out.There are rope swings hanging from trees from people in the past. We cant wait for our kids and grand kids to come for a visit. We will give them a surprise as well.

Hidden gem of AL - great jumping spots (high rocks and deep waterduring the right season. Park Ranger onsite, checks all bags to ensure no alcohol - family friendly spot - put it on your list to visit!

Great family friendly waterfalls. This is a great place to visit late summer for a swim. There is a rope you can swing from and jump into the water. Great fun!! You can also jump off the cliffs into the water but make sure you know where the rocks are first to avoid serious injury. The rocks are either very shallow or very deep. There is a hole in the rock at the top of the falls that is perfect for a little dip. Not much trails around so dont expect to go here for hiking. The wet rocks can be very slimmy and slippery so take extra caution. If you plan to walk around in the water I would highly recommend wearing water shoes. Flip-flops are not the best solution. Please educate everyone in your troupe to take their trash with them and not polute the nature experience with candy wrappers and broken bottles of beer!

Great short stop to see a picturesque secluded waterfall. Go on an off day and there will not be many people if any. Great swimming hole. Cool clean water. Good easy hiking. I can imagine on weekends and holidays it might not be family friendly, judging by the beer cans and cig butts/vape cartridges around. Yes, there is a fair amount of litter around. Its a shame but its not so bad to skip a visit to a nice, free natural place. They have trash cans so just pitch in and grab a few extra pieces and take them out. If we all do it, itll be clean.

We had fun! The waterfall is beautiful! My family spent 3 hours playing in the water. Theres a rope swing and place for kids to tube. There is a lot of glass in the rocks outside of the water. It is rocky and not sandy so make sure to wear water shoes.

PICK UP YOUR TRASH! beautiful place slowly ruined by people who litter. The climb down can be a little tough especially for older people and small children. Bring good shoes as the rocks are slippery and moist. Limited parking so plan a good time to come. Rope swing is pretty cool.

Off the beaten path for sure. No parking other than for one car. You have to climb down the rocks to get to the river and view the falls. It was well worth the hassel to find it. Plan to return in the summer for a picnic and to swim. There is a rope swing in one of the trees.

Nice place to spend an afternoon. Water is refreshing, perhaps even on the cold side. Be sure to wear water shoes, rocks are slippery and some surfaces can be sharp.Plenty of rocks to relax upon and soak up the sun. If the immediate area around the falls is packed, there are plenty of spots down stream.Cons: funny smell near the falls, and the path down from the road can be difficult for some. Also, the parking situation is less than ideal, just parking along the narrow road above the falls.

Make sure to wear shoes! Lots of glass and sharp rocks but still an amazing spot! Lots of trees and shade. Theres even a way to go up the waterfall and stand under the water! More experienced jumpers can go up on the cliffside (30ftto jump into the deeper parts.

Theres not a whole lot that I can say other than this is one of the most beautiful spots that I have been to in Alabama. Free to the public that perfect for virtually all ages. Go see for yourself and if you disagree please let me know 😉

Beautiful waterfall that unfortunately is easy to access so theres trash all over. Be careful of all the broken glass everywhere.

Despite having my phone fall into the water which is currently drying out. This was a great falls. The only down side is the lack of care that people show. Trash everywhere, but if overlook it why youre here its a beautiful falls.
