High-end French-style dishes with British ingredients in modern claret and white-linen dining room.
A flawless experience! We were in for a treat to celebrate our anniversary with the 7 course tasting menu plus the Sommelier choice of wine pairing and wow - it did not disappoint. Food was fantastic (my favorite Michelin star in the world so farand the service absolutely impeccable. Cherry on top was seeing Marcus himself walking past us and having a bit of a chat, and visiting the beautiful kitchen at the end of the meal. Unique! Cant wait to go back for another special meal.
Hats off to Chef Marcus Wareing and Chef Craig Johnston for creating such a wonderful lunch menu! The trout was nice and fresh while the Cumbrian chicken was tender and juicy.
Its one of the best restaurant in London. Until now.
We had the 7 course pre fixed menu. It ended up being more like 10 courses with all the extras they brought out for us. The food was amazing, delicious, and beautifully plated. The wine pairings were excellent! Each staff member was so polite and accommodating. Will definitely come back next time we are in London!
Great tasting menu. The location was great with a very relaxed atmosphere. Despite it being busy it was quiet slowing you to dine with a good amount of privacy. The food was perfect! With such a variety of dishes that would make you come back for more. Always been a fan of Marcus and being able to dine here definitely did not disappoint
Incredible, just had lunch sitting at the chefs table. Absolutely perfect in every way. Understated luxury, no pomp and ceremony. Delightful chefs displaying their talents and creating such beautiful food
Amazing, ate in their private room with a cohort of people. Great service, delicious food, and lovely setting
Fabulous food & service (disclaimer - went a few years ago but thought I would upload some photos!)
Booked the restaurant for my daughters 21st birthday treat. Absolute perfection in every aspect. Warm amd welcoming staff who wished my daughter a happy birthday. We had the lunch menu which was just amazing, perfectly presented and served throughout. And a special treat for my daughters birthday topped off a great meal. I couldnt be any more happier! Top marks.
I visits Marcus with my parents who were celebrating their anniversary last Friday and they did an impeccable job. We all enjoyed the tasting menu. Since they had very recently reopened, they didn’t have the wine pairing yet, but the sommelier did an excellent job pairing carafes with every few courses - and having a great sense of humor. They had an additional dessert to celebrate their anniversary and every staff member we interacted with sent them well wishes. Thank you for a lovely evening!
I had the lunch menu here with some friends this afternoon. As far as fine dining lunches go, this was great The food was good and the presentation was good. The service was also good, and the staff were extremely attentive to topping up the water! The atmosphere here is great, I really liked it... great decor, great finish, great style, and great art.I absolutely LOVED the bread and the custard desert. Its difficult for me to give five stars because I wasnt so keen on some of the flavours in the main dish. I think I need to try the taster menu and then I can re-write this.
An absolutely wonderful experience. Exquisite food, superb staff and amazing attention to detail. This has to be one of the best meals we have had. We all loved it including our 10 year old daughter who the staff treated like a VIP. Please open in Dubai...
The food was delicious, we ordered the three course menu which was 120 per person. The French wine was amazing, the staff attention was great, however they forgot it was our anniversary even though we confirmed through the website and by phone and told me they would have something special prepared. They even asked at the beginning of the meal but eventually they forgot. This is why I’m giving them 4/5.
That was the most incredible meal of my life. The service was superb and the food was to die for.
7 course menu. Genuinely the best meal weve ever had. Give this man back his 2nd star!
Sometimes classic is good. Great sommelier and wine list. Lots of choice for most people as well as nose bleed.Great classic formal service but not stuffy. Every waiter well briefed and knowledgeable. Food was very good.Id like to mention the seating. Its excellent especially if you le people watching and gossiping with your partner!
Very special evening in the private, chefs table room. Staff were attentive, food was fantastic, wines were matched perfectly. It was great to see the kitchen in action and have different chefs introduce each dish. The pace was set perfectly as well; we didnt feel rushed at any point and ended up being both the first and last people in the restaurant that night. There were a couple of birthdays in the group so we had some additional, surprise desserts - and there were a couple of other surprises sprinkled throughout the tasting menu. Just wonderful and great to have the intimacy of our own room.
We went for my boyfriends birthday and had a wonderful time. The food was amazing as was the service, very attentive and professional. Lovely feel to the restaurant, relaxing atmosphere.
I had the set lunch menu at the hotel. The food was generally good, but I disliked some of the flavour combinations and found that the main course really needed some potatoes/ other carbs. I also found many of the servers rather unfriendly, apart from Christian who helped to make it a great lunch. All in all it was fine, but I was expecting a bit more
Excellent service, excellent food. The best restaurant experience ever. The service from everyone is outstanding. Whatever you are doing works. Well worth spending the money for excellent food and service. This was our 2nd time, we look forward to returning soon. The Custard Tart was outstanding. I have yet to experience this level of service in other Michelin star restaurants.
I had a very average 7 course tasting menu with my wife and Mom. This was our 2nd time dinning at Marcus. The first time was four years ago, and it was truly amazing. But, this will be our last time! The food wasnt as amazing this time, the expensive paring wines were incorrectly served by the Sommelier, in tiny little glasses. Each different wine from our menu in the same style little glass. Which didnt allow us to enjoy the wines properly. Until the last wine, when I finally requested the proper wine glass. The meal, with wine pairing cost the 3 of us £967.00.So Im asking too much, to have the correct glass for each wine, to fully enjoy our meal? The staff were very friendly, and made an effort to make my Mom feel special. Thank you for that!
Wonderful menu, surroundings, staff resulting in a Wonderful, memorable experience !
Absolutely everything about an evening out here is just flawless. The incredible friendliness of the staff is matched by their attention to detail and knowledge of the menu and wines, and then the food itself is sublime. Every single course was on a other level to almost any other restaurant Ive tried. We had the 7 course tasting menu and the scallop, sweetbread and beef in particular were knockout dishes, and I definitely recommend not skipping on the cheese cart. We booked in for a birthday so their was a surprise little extra dessert at the end too - the cherry on top of a fantastic experice. If you want to treat yourself to dinner, this is the place to come!
I had my lunch here, I really enjoyed every dish. Great ambience and service. Will come back again. Good value for 4 courses £60.
An absolutely phenomenal culinary journey at the highest level with excellent service. The dishes are unique, striking and undoubtedly delicious. The staff are extremely professional, meticulous and tidy all whilst offering an amicable service. It is an unforgettable experience. The menu is updated seasonally with an average of £80 per person without drinks. Overall, I would definitely recommend you visit for a fine dining event.
This restaurant is situated within The Berkeley Hotel. The dining room is warm and welcoming. The staff were all exceptionally kind, friendly and extremely helpful, wonderful service throughout our visit.Great menu choice for a Saturday sitting. We chose the 5 course tasting menu with the wine flight. It was worth every penny. The food was outstanding and the wine was paired beautifully.Highly recommend this restaurant and well definitely return.
So good!! So good! I was spectical on veg options but i was blown away. The ambience, the attention to detail, the uniqueness of the dishes, the chefs explanations, the amazing taste of blended flavors and the remarkable wines on offer. Its a really fantastic place to visit.
Absolutely brilliant. Had the 7 course tasting menu which was a celebration of contemporary British cooking. The salmon course and clementine and tequila course were clear standouts and flavours Ill remember. One course completely confused me, the potatoe tart with honeycomb. Potatoe and honey never need to meet each other in such a way in my opinion and the truffle on this course was bewildering. All in all, one of the best fine dining experiences of recent years and I would recommend.
Had the lunch menu with the accompanying sommelier wine choices. Superb. Everything I had hoped it would be!
We enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu last night it surpassed all expectations apart from Marcus not being there. I didnt manage to photograph the scallop course I had started before I remembered 😂 Thank you to all the restaurant staff they enhanced the whole experience.
Absolutely amazing birthday experience. From the moment we stepped through the door, from the staffs attention to detail, to the stunning food was absolutely faultless.
Great wine list 😊, and the dishes were great but the sauce for John Dory was a bit on the salty side, might be just my own taste preference. Looking forward to be back at the chef table in September.
**Update 23/01/22Their manager Ednor contacted me and said would contacted me if they have any cancellation. We had luck and dined with them on Saturday 15th. The service and the food were superb we were really happy that we could celebrate my friend’s birthday at Marcus.**11/01/22Been there before when it still had 2 stars. I believe they lost 1 star because of the customer service. I just spoke to Diana over the phone trying to add one more person to my table for 2 on my friend’s birthday. She said they don’t have table for three but I could see they have more table for 2 available. She even said even if I book for 2 tables for two people we won’t be able to sit together. It masks absolutely no sense to me!
Had a great fine dining experience with their 7 course tasting menu. The most amazing about this place is their staff. Absolutely astonishing. The food was ok for 1* michelin. Overall, enjoyed the evening. Thank you guys, good luck!
We came here between Christmas and New Year and what a spectacular evening! The food, service and ambience were all outstanding and surpassed our already high expectations! We had the 5 course tasting menu with matching wines and it was our best dining experience in London so far! Thank you so much Marcus for a truly wonderful evening! 💛🤩
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!We had such a special visit to Marcus to celebrate a special occasion and the food was absolutely amazing. The taste profile/skill/visual appeal.. it was just perfection.Having visited over 40 Michelin star restaurants, this one was exceptional! I could not rate this restaurant highly enough. Can’t wait to visit again in the future!
An exceptional experience with attentive staff, glorious food and outstanding surroundings Would recommend to anyone looking for the above. We had the 5 course tasting menu with my personal favourites being the double smoked pork belly and the chocolate crémeux dessert.
Service ambience and delicious meal from start to finish .from the moment you approach the snowfall steps to the fine dining .could not find a single fault with Marcus and Berkley ..highly recommended ..you will not be disappointed 😊
We came here for dinner and given it’s a Michelin restaurant we expected it to be good, but not this good! The food was exceptional as was the service. The waiters and waitresses couldn’t do enough and even when we though the wine tasted corked (and it was fizzythey kindly replaced the bottle! The Scallops and the lamb were stand out dishes for me. Great place and fantastic food, well worth the money
I was in a michelin star trip in London and one of the night was here in this beautiful 2 michelin star restaurant, the stuff were amazing and I took the big tasting menu also in one part they took me into the kitchen to see how they work and it was nice but lets go back to the food.I gave 4 stars because I dont remember that I ate something that blow my mind like usually happening in michelin stars restaurants, everything was good but not amazing and also the place in one point got really dark
It’s a michelin started restaurant so you know what to expect. I find the food here very simple, straight-forward, but delicious. I was surprised how my beef tartare looked and there wasn’t much beef in it, but the lobster was one of the best I’ve tasted. The desserts were fantastic too!
We had the tasting menu at the chefs table, with a wine pairing. The food was excellent - my personal favourite being the lamb with ricotta. The wine fit perfectly with the food, and our Sommelier was friendly and professional. Cant reccomend enough - fantastic evening!
Great experience. Fantastic food and good value for the set lunch menu at £55 for 4 courses. Wine list a bit pricey but the wine pairing is probably the best option at £49. Service was very good and loved one of the waiters who was very flamboyant. Would recommend.
Had shorter tasting menu. Excellent quality and taste throughout with lovely wines to compliment the food. Well recommended
Lovely dining experience from start to finish. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable, the ambiance was relaxing and the food was beautifully presented. I wish that I had asked what technique was used to cook my lobster claw (it was an unusual texture, almost jelly like in texture and it had no taste)but the rest of the starter including the lobster tail was delicious. The steak main was delicious, even more so without the addition of the sauce as I felt this was extremely rich and detracted my attention away from the taste of the other components on my plate. Dessert was enjoyable and again beautifully presented. I was celebrating my 50th birthday and was brought a plate with a couple of desserts to mark the occasion! Very enjoyable experience.
Elevated cookery throughout. Pretenders are everywhere but the classic chefs will never fail to deliver. The dining room is a little strange but pretty standard for a hotel based restaurant. Tasting menu and pairing was tremendous. Will definitely go back
Service was as expected of a restaurant with this reputation. Food was absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was great, staff were friendly and knowledgeable.Would definitely recommend anyone who hasnt been to come and experience Marcus menu - we will definitely be coming back.
Weve been watching loads of MasterChef Professional series over the lockdown and decided to visit Marcus Wareings restaurant once the lockdown was lifted. The staff were very professional and polite. According to the staff, Marcus was busy filming new shows, but Craig, the MasterChef of 2017 was there to cook! The sauces, purees, gels, lamb reduction, etc. were all made beautifully and went perfectly with the proteins and vegetables. My husband thought the asparagus with mushroom sauce was the best and I thought the lamb was the highlight of the meal. The coconut sorbet was really delicious and the panna cotta was excellent.
Once again after nearly a year long pandemic lockdown. My partner arranged a surprise lunch return it Marcus. After last visit, Marcus still my favourite Michelin restaurants that we had been visited. Not just food, also the interior and device team all make me feel lie home and away welcome. The food are right on the spot always and nothing over powering that over tale others, well round balanced flavours. The decor of dishes elegant and not pretentious, interior design just feel relax like home.I will always recommend Marcus for anyone who want feel comfortable and enjoy good food.
We visited to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and as a special occasion place did not disappoint. On our table there was a small bag containing a jar of honey and a bottle of cider from Marcuss far along with a hand written happy birthday note. From start to finish everything was perfect. Waiting staff was attentive and friendly, specially our waiter Angelo and our sommelier Elton, both of them made us feel welcomed. The food was excellent and although a few things here and there werent to our personal taste ( tasting menu first world problems the level of cooking was impeccable. We particularly enjoyed the saddle of venison and the gnocchi. Their wine list was one of the most extensive I have seen, with loads of options from almost all wine making regions so there is something for everyone. Fun fact, we spilled some water on our table cloth and the manager immediately noticed, in the best save I have ever seen he offered to show us the kitchen whilst our table cloth was being changed.
