I attended the Marco Pierre White Kings Cross Islington Restaurant On the 20th of September for my prize for winning the trustee of the year award for 2021 and I had a very nice time the staff was very supportive and conscientious of my needs the building was wheelchair accessible and I am here to give a top rating of 5 / 5 as my friend and I was treated like Kings to Marco Pierre White and his Kings Cross branch I sincerely thank you for making my night very special

Went to the restaurant after pre-booking. Was told on the phone that the last orders are at 9pm. Why? So people dont eat there after 9pm. Dumbfounded. Got there at 9pm and had to wait for 10 minutes which was odd as it was almost empty with just one table of 6 being served. Then waited 10 minutes for the order to be taken after hailing the waitress. Meal, fish and chips, cheesecake, was brought in 15 minutes which was a great turnaround.Fish and chunky chips were actually quite nice although fish could have been cooked about 2 minutes longer so less soft batter layer. Mushy peas were bland and uninspiring however being hungry by 10pm being served meant eating whatever was served.The interior was very dimly lit. No idea if this is because of the energy costs or some art experiment by Marco!

We have been to a MPW steakhouse Co and liked it so much we asked friends for a voucher to attend another MPW restaurant. The difference from the second we arrived was stark. We had a £100 voucher and got a quality we would have expected from a wetherspoons. Waited 10m to be seated before then being put in a corner facing the road. The wine we ordered they then didnt have because they blamed supplier issues due to covid. They then said all they have is a cheaper bottle that wasnt even on the menu and seemed like it had been borrowed from the bar next door. We asked if they had cocktails like the website said but they said covid meant they dont do any at all any more. We then ordered burgers with bbq glaze and ketchup as a sauce on it, but only wanted one with the bbq glaze and the other without. When they arrived we asked which was which and they said they didnt know, then changing this answer to none come with bbq glaze because of covid The burgers we got both had neither and for some reason had Mayonnaise on. We tried to still enjoy it as we know how good the sticky toffee pudding was from the other time we went to the MPW restraunt. When that arrived it was the same as a school dinner cake and was not even close in taste or presentation to the one we had last time. All in all we still were unable to spend the full 100 voucher and when we explained how upset we were for all the issues we had they just gave us a hot chocolate to leave with. Overall just a really upsetting experience made worse by the fact we have been looking forward to it for the last two weeks as what we expected was a treat we cannot normally afford which is why we asked for a voucher as a present. Wouldnt go back and wouldnt recommend. Surprised something with MPW name on can be able to continue when thats the level offered. How dissatisfied was we!It was a gift (red letter daybooked months in advance, took ages in be shown table,wasnt even busy! Brought the menu over, the manager said you have to choose from this menu, we ordered, cocktail each,starter each,steak each,and after meal a sweet each,whilst eating our server said to a colleague, keep an eye on those two!!!! And she looked at us, I thought what? Why would he say that! "Was it because it was a gift" perhaps he thought wed do a runner because of the extras! ( largers)Pepper corn sauce was thick,and very salty so much so I asked for a glass of water! We got given a bottle that we had to pay for,steak was average, house fries were no better than anywhere else, sweet was apple crumble and my husband had sticky chocolate pudding both were microwavedOur bill came to £98We asked what we were paying for?Service chargeServer chargeobviously we knew we had to pay for our extra drinks,and this is the best part...upgraded steaks!!!!Really. ...Avoid, over ratedRude staff

What on earth kind of restaurant takes longer to get a beer than to prep an appetizer?PS; figured a 4★ hotel would have a restaurant rated better than 3★... Maybe I made a mistake staying here...Will update once main course arrives.**Update**Its a good thing I enjoy a blu rare steak, as thats how my rare order came out. Would recommend ordering the cook a half step higher than you prefer, just to be safe.The salad was incredible, and I dont even like beet root.I cant REALLY justify knocking the rating down, but it also doesnt warrant an increase.I >might< return.

The food is absolutely brilliant, fresh produce and good quality meat.Jade was absolutely brilliant during our stay, very helpful and attentive.

Brought voucher from Wowcher didn’t read the small print as restaurant was a mile away, main came with nothing, then has to pay extra as you do, service was bad too

WOW, Very pleasantly surprised.We went to Marco Pierre Whites,The Steakhouse Bar and Grill, Islington, (The Angel), on a Voucher, NOT expecting much, BUT, the Service was Great, the Food Excellent AND The Portions were large !The Cheese Board was;- Two Large slabs of Cheddar AND Two slabs of Blue Cheese with plenty of Biscuits and Butter - Amazing.Thank you Marco for having the Chefs dish out such satisfyingly large portions, a credit to you and your staff, we WILL visit again.Regards,Adrian & Paula King.

Tried calling a handful of times, and have left 2 emails and haven’t had a response it’s been over 2 weeks… I just needed help with booking via a smartbox gift voucher! The smartbox gift voucher Shouldn’t advertise a restaurant that don’t communicate with their customers

Not even attended and deserves a review!Got a buy a gift voucher for here and wanted to book for my birthday. Tried calling them on and off for past 2 months and used their contact form on their website twice. Never had phone answered and no one has come back to me on the website enquiry form. We want to know the information needed to bring with us for the booking in relation to our voucher and ensure a table is booked. We will be travelling about 1.5 hours to come for the meal so do not want a wasted journey especially on Birthday!MPW should be embarrassed to have his name on this chain - train your staff - or maybe get some staff?! At least we have had the courtesy to cancel our reservation as we understand restaurants deserve to know if you can or cannot attend - shame they give no respect back.We also cancelled the booking as looking at previous reviews we do not want an awful meal with awful service. We have exchanged our buy a gift voucher for something we have already managed to book the same day and had great communication with the new company.

The lack of service was nothing short of a shambles! I would have given it a 1 but the food was not that bad and saved this score from the lowest possible. DO NOT VISIT.The wait time in between courses was a joke and to get some water took nearly 30 mins.No acknowledgment or apology for the the fact that we were there for over 3 hours. The front of house staff need some serious training.

Terrible customer service. Do not go! We have bought a voucher on buyagift.com. I have tried to redeem it online and the only details provided were the restaurants phone number. I called at least 2 weeks in advance to make a booking and I was assured on the phone that the booking was made. No one has bothered to explain to me that all bookings have to be made via the reservations team. There is also no information on your website about redeeming the voucher. I have spoke to the manager at the restaurant and he said that 99% of customers dine using a voucher. If this is a case, I would have expected the person who answered the phone explain to me the correct way to make a reservation instead of reassuring me that the booking was made. My father came all the way from Wales for this experience and was turned away on his birthday. I find this absolutely outrageous. Nobody at the restaurant bothered to take time to accommodate him. I have read similar experiences by other customers at your restaurants who turned up at the restaurant and were told that there was no booking. Except they were invited to take a seat and their voucher was redeemed on the spot. I wonder whether the employees are prejudiced and whether the fact that my father spoke little English and couldnt stand up for himself was the reason why he was not taken seriously and turned away. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

We came here with a buy and gift voucher, but the restaurant was so disappointing. The menu was limited because of the voucher use. We couldn’t reclaim our cocktail because we were told they did not have any! The steak was tough and grisly, chips were undercooked and bland ( possibly frozenand the vine tomatoes were also undercooked.The complimentary drink I did ask for, they didn’t have. We had been waiting two years for this experience so this was very disappointing. I also had to extend the voucher on arrival at the restaurant because the system didn’t recognise it. I had already extended this but then had to pay an additional £20 for this.

Terrible experience. Do not go here, especially if you have a voucher. Was bought a MPW gift voucher for a birthday and attempted to use it this evening. The manager advised the voucher was not valid, despite the fact it was bought directly from the MPW website, we booked directly with the restaurant, and the voucher was in date. After a number of complaints we were offered the set menu (rather than the £75 voucher we actually had). The service was slow, the food was average and several mistakes were made with our order. The restaurant also had one of the rudest managers I’ve ever encountered. Avoid avoid avoid!

Lovely meal. We came using a buyagift voucher and we had such a great experience. Food was perfect, staff were friendly and helpful, atmosphere was warm with a live dj and extra effort for Valentine’s Day :thank you!

Anchovies found in my salad after taking a few bites! I am vegetarian and made this clear but was still served this. The pizza was warm and took an hour and a half to come out after speaking to staff regarding the length of time it was taking. The waiter was absolutely lovely and not a bad word could be said against him or his service( a lovely Irish man). Not happy with my experience at all. Will never be returning

Beautiful environment and atmosphere. The drink choices and food options were good. Plenty for vegetarian. Flowers everywhere.

Very poor experience, as a wedding present we went on out last night of our honeymoon. My wife had the prawn cocktail which was extremely spicy, she then had rump steak, on asking how she wanted it cooking she asked for medium, it came well done and with cold sauce. As she went to the toilet, the waiter came over and cleared our plates, didnt really bother with my comment that "it wasnt very good", on getting the bill he eventually asked if we had enjoyed the experience I told him no and the reason, he said "I will pass it onto the kitchen as feedback" All in all a terrible experience and no signs of any acknowledgement from the staff about your complaints. Wouldnt recommend.

Food was lovely, place wasnt as clean as expected, bill was wrong and no choice given for a tip was automatically added to the bill ..always leave a good tip but at my choosing .. this was a 50th birthday treat .. wouldnt go again

The head waiter was very pleasant and professional, but the other servers less capable of understanding dietary requirements. An allergen menu wasnt available so it took numerous trips to talk to the chef regarding ingredients. Disappointingly things like onion soup and freshly ground burgers couldnt be made fresh without containing gluten as they were preprepared! The very limited gluten free dishes remaining were bland and relatively expensive.

Very nice restaurant, not only for a stake. The place is located in the DoubleTree Hilton, very easy to find. The service was excellent as well as the food. Good meat quality and well cooked. Very much recommend.

Probably the best fillet steak Ive ever had. Get the forestiere (steak with mushrooms- even the spinach is amazing. Cocktails are really nice, too. And the staff are lovely.

Food and atmosphere was excellent. However the service while being attentive was very hurried with steaks being brought out before starters were finished.

This was a real disappointment. We was judged as soon as we mentioned that we had a voucher. Which was a gift from my Mother and Father.As soon as we was shown our table we was forgotten about. It took 30 minutes to take our order. It took another 20 minutes for our drinks to appear. When we asked where our drinks were, we was told that they have to come from the bar so it takes longer. Is that really a excuse ?? A place that is ment to offer you full package. Starters was faultless the flavour of the food was amazing. However the main was a different story. (I dont see how they could be so far apart ). Me and my partner both had burger, which you expect to be no more than Medium ( so the juices flow through the meat and you get flavour galore in your mouth. We didnt get that. If it wasnt for ordering a sauce we both wouldnt of been able to get through it. To finish I havent had desert yet as I write this but Im not expecting alot.I know that the restaurant wont pay attention to this and will ignore it, but I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anybody. If you sit by the window you get the pleasure of hotel guess looking at your dinner while smoking, which is the icing on the cake. Poor service below average food (after the starter). We was very very disappointed

So disappointed. Awfull service. Making a reservation on the phone is a nightmare, you need to reach hotel, then a receptionist then maybe the restaurant. Waiters look like they havent done that job before. So many accidents and mistakes (cocktails dropped when served, waiter didnt understand the order, dishes almost fell on my mum, etc.No apologies, it was like a joke all evening. Food was small, boring. Good wine though. We will definitely never go back !

Great food and service. Had scallops and black pudding as starter, sirloin Steak for main and mousse au chocolat for desert. All dishes were amazing.Service was top notch and really attentive.Highly recommend this place

Food was lovely no fault with that at all. Onion rings are delicious well worth getting a side order. Service started well George was exceptional problem was once he took our order ended up with 3 other servers took over two hours to get 2 kids starters 1 adult starter. 2 kids mains and 2 adult mains and finally adults gave up wanting a deserts but the kids had a desert each. Service was very slow had to ask 4 times for our side orders to arrive. Finally arrrived when we had all finished our mains. The staff did appologise but damage had been done. Well worth going as the food is good and priced well just give yourself plenty of time as they are slow.

Dont follow Google maps! Its within the Double tree hotel reception. Go through the front. Nice layout and staff were really great and welcoming. Food was nice with no complaints. If your after the best portions for your money here go for the haddock and chips...it was massive

I recently travelled down from Newcastle with my mam and sister to stay in the Double Tree Hilton and wanted somewhere local for afternoon tea. Not knowing the area it was good to realise that there was a Marco’s within the hotel. Having had delicious afternoon tea at our local Marco’s in Newcastle on a number of occasions we decided to book. The booking was made, by phone, a week in advance with one gluten free order. When we arrived the restaurant was empty. The staff took our drinks order and we clarified the gluten free. The food took quite a while to arrive with no and when it did the gluten free order was clearly thrown together with only the option of fruit kebab (different types of melonand sorbet, no cakes or pastries at all. Now for £20 that isn’t really acceptable and well below the standard of any other afternoon tea I have ever had. To add insult to injury the bill was then delivered with a £2 service charge per person. This was not made clear on booking and I couldn’t find this any where on the web page. So basically the £19.95 advertised price was actually £20 + £2 service. £22 for a couple of sandwiches and fruit! Would we return... absolutely not. I’d love to know what Marco himself would make of the offerings! There was no sense of apology or regret from the staff and they just seemed accepting of that’s just the way it is. Stay clear.

I was staying in the hotel and ate in the restaurant on a Wednesday. Service was attentive, but delivery of food and drinks was very slow. Food was OK, but not particularly special. This is basically a hotel restaurant, and in my opinion an expensive one which is not worth the premium cost based on the quality of the food, setting or service.

What I thought was supposed to be a fine dining experience was no better than food I have had in weatherspoons. The starter came out way to fast, it was bland..literally just calamari on a plate, the main also was bland (a piece of duck, some Macdonalds chips and a bit of saladand that also came out far too quickly. The desert was better. The servive was alai good too. I am dissapointed with this place. I have been to one the at liverpooL street and it was far better.

When me and my partner arrived at 20:00 hours on Saturday 5th May 2018, to have my Birthday Meal at the Famous Marco Pierre White Restraunt, we were all dressed up and so exicted. We were welcomed in a very standard way, and then shown to a table. We then waited ten minutes, for someone to take our drinks order and at that point, we had to say that we would order our starters then too. The waiter did not even introduce themsleves, however we thought they might of forget being so busy. But they were not busy at all, as there was only 4 tables of people in there and lots of staff around, so very poor service. Then 15 minutes later our first drinks and starters arrived together. The waiter spilt our drinks on our white table cloth, making the table look messy and no very appealing if we were to take pictures. The starters were the French Onion Soup and was so hot it hurt it to eat it. The soup did not come with bread and butter so we had to order that seperate. A short time later, we had finished our drinks and did not want any more of the soup. We then waited another 15 minutes for our main courses to come out, with the empty glasses and soup bowls on the table. We then had to help the waiter move things around to have our main meal put on the table. We do not have to do that in the Harvester. Also nobody asked how our main meals were whilst eating them, and nobody offerered more drinks to us, with our empty glasses on show. The main meals were the French Burgers and they were only warm and the chips were roasting hot. To be honest for the price of the mains, the food was very basic and the way it was presented was nothing special. After another 10 minutes, our table was cleared, and then we were asked if we wanted dessert, to which we just asked for the bill, which come to around £80 for 2 people, for 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks. I then explained all of the above to the waiter, who said he was sorry and took some money off the bill. From the look on his face and the fact he did not reply to any of our comments, it said it all. We were also aware of 2 other tables who also complained about the service and food in front of us. I was visiting London for my Birthday with my partner and was stopping at the Hilton Hyde Park, and paid £60 in taxi fares, hoping to have a meal to remember, well I certainly did, but not for good reasons. I could of picked somewhere else in London. We also had 2 differnet staff members deal with us. I had being to the Birmingham Marco Pierre White for a Birthday of mine a few years ago and that was amazing.

We booked online for 8pm on Saturday 5th may..we arrived and was shown to our table, there was about 3 other tables in the restaurant when we arrived and was quite a casual atmosphere. We waited 10 minutes for someone to come over and take our order although we hadnt ordered any drinks so we ordered drinks starters and mains all at once. We never received our drinks until our starters came out which was the French onion soup which was like boiling brown water with roughly around 2 whole onions sliced up inside of it - no bread came with it we were told that bread was separate so it was such a struggle to eat such hot soup that would burn your tongue and throat. A lady waitress came over half way through and asked us if we enjoyed our soup and we explained it had abit too much onion in it to which she replied well it is onion soup which to be honest was quite sarcastic. So that was that. Then around 10-15 mins later the waiter then brought out our mains - we still hadnt had our starters cleaned off the table so we pushed the bowls aside and ate our food. Not once did someone come over and ask if everything was ok with our meals and not once was we asked if we would of liked anymore drinks. Considering the restaurant was so quiet the service was appalling and the cheek of adding 10% ontop of your bill at the end was just ridiculous. Food was just standard nothing amazing about it at all..if anything Ive eaten better at a harvester! This journey cost us £30 in a taxi to reach so the whole night was such a waste of money and to anyone who considers dining at this place think again because its not like a proper Marco Pierre restaurant. We will never return! and to be honest doesnt give a good reputation for Marco. Sort it out! Appalling place!

I visited this restaurant today for afternoon tea and decided to treat my my mum and sister. Compared to many other afternoon teas I have been to the food was nowhere near as good standard. Didn’t even have a decent selection of teas/ not even loose tea. The staff where awful not attentive at all! If anything I’d say they’d need a bit more training not what I was expecting. Most of the time they were not around and didn’t come to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything. Only one waitress in particular was good possibly incharge but all the rest awful! For the price it was good value for money. But unfortunately wasn’t a very good experience. Would I return? absolutely not!

Marco’s is in a hotel lobby, and it feels like it.Very little atmosphere and most of the other guests were staying in the hotel.We had a TimeOut voucher which made it affordable. But otherwise it would’ve been very pricey.We ordered some charcuterie to start and it was pretty minimal for £10.The steak was tasty enough but nothing special. The pudding for dessert was dry, disappointing given how empty the place was.If you were paying full price, I’d be very disappointed with my experience.

Restaurant was empty for a Friday night. The only other people there were clearly staying at the hotel. We ordered a £58 steak to share. It was the smallest steak I’ve ever seen. Service was awful. Had to wait around 2 hours from ordering to getting the main. I’ve genuinely had better restaurant service at a holiday Inn. I don’t usually review restaurants but this place is overpriced and awful. Do not waste your money here!

Visited the restaurant on February 10th and while the food was delicious service was extremely disappointing and completely ruined the evening, drinks ordered when we first sat at the table arrived with the main course despite asking for them three times! long waits between courses with the table not being cleared correctly (or as i would expect from a restaurant of this standing, I am classically trained in restaurant servicewaiting staff seemly not wanting to be there and to top it all after we had asked for the bill 4 times we found a service charge had been added! A christmas gift from my daughter was actually spoilt for us!

It was lovely and the staff are great. Got a good deal on timeout. 2 steaks chips and a bottle of wine for £45.

I was really looking forward to trying one of Londons top chefs restaurant. Service was good. Food was ok. The beetroot starter was small. A few thin slices with a half teaspoon of goats cheese. For over £8 we felt a bit robbed. My starter came with 3 slices of the driest tasteless bread. Main was also quite small and over priced. The chicken Kiev was no better than a frozen one. It even looked exactly like one for that matter. I found that we had much better meals in London at some random non chain, non famous restaurants. I think theyve got more to prove so make more of an effort.

I was pleasantly surprised with a fantastic and friendly welcome after reading so many negative reviews. The staff were very friendly and attentive. My meal was excellent and could not fault it. My wife is on a dairy free diet and she could not have haddock and chips, however they made her grilled salmon which was not on the menu. In addition, my wife does not take refined sugar and without any hesitation the chef made her a fresh fruit dessert. The only reason I did not accord 5 stars is because they forgot my dessert and I had to remind them after waiting for half an hour. Apologies were sincere as they were busy.

Booked this restaurant which was a combined voucher with The Shard, was under the impression it would be a restaurant on own not within a hotel (would never have booked). First impression, no atmosphere, noise from the foyer and the table cloth was very very creased. Not a great choice and the steak had a £10.50 supplement charge, small portion of frozen peas was £3.75, chips were frozen the two stars was for the dessert the only thing that was homemade. Very disappointing for a "Celebrity" Chef Restaurant. Would not recommend

Very slow service, almost felt like they had forgot us.My husbands meal was fine. I had to send back my main, I had vegetable curry, although the curry was ok I had to send this dish back as my rice was stone cold, felt like it had just come out of the fridge.Our desserts took 45 mins to come out then when I started eating mine (banana and maple messI noticed it had 2 pieces of banana in and 2 very small pieces of meringue, the rest was cream. I was also going to send this back but we didnt see a waitress for another 10 mins. Over all the experience was not good, its even more disappointing that it was an Xmas present and we were due to go to the shard after but missed the opening times.
