Marathon Harbour Inn - in Marathon, Canada
Nice clean room. Comfortable bed. 9 am firm check out time. Near Pebble Beach the most fascinating Beach on Lake Superior.
Clean rooms, comfy beds and a good stay overall.
Friendly front desk, but just wanted to post that they are not pet friendly. Google had that detail wrong.
Friendly staff. The rooms are tight.Bed was ok.They are super short staffed
Book your room in advance/ they do not have walk in available. They are very short staffed. Best in Marathon.
Pros. Spacious clean room. Close to restaurants and stores.Cons. Still stuck with COVID protocol while the rest of the industry has moved on. No breakfast as stated in the website. Check-in open for only 3.5hrs must checkout by 9AM.Overall pricy for what you get.
This is a hidden gem. The rooms are spacious and spotless.
Water did not work the first day. Was better the following days however.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Spacious, clean rooms and access to an actual kitchen sink in the common area (beats trying to wash any dishes in the bathroom sink!). I only interacted with staff during check in but the interaction was very pleasant.
Simple, but clean and newly renovated. Friendly staff and comfy bed!
Best place to stay in Marathon. Modern comfortable rooms. Unfortunately unstaffed between 830pm and 900am.
Weve been traveling across Ontario over the past few weeks, and this place has, by far, been our worst stay. Not only is check-out time absurdly early (9am!), but their AC units are incredibly loud, waking you up every 20 minutes when it blasts back on. We ended up needing to sleep with the windows open instead because it was just too much. Our experience with the front desk lady was also very odd, feeling like an interrogation upon arriving. Do yourself a favor and stay down the street at Zero-100.
Cleanest hotel on our entire Toronto to Thunder Bay trip. No funky smells. Super clean sheets. Firm mattresses. Quiet and safe. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I’ve stayed in some smelly dives and saved twenty bucks. This is worth it.
The room was clean and environment nice and quiet. The last check in hours keep changing . We were told 9pm, then in the morning when we pass by the hotel, it becomes 8:30pm. By the time we actually check in, the clerk said she was leaving by 8pm. Be careful about check in time. No front desk service after hour .
Great little motel ! I tried hard to get a room at this place, waiting for reservation cancelations, after seeing the reviews of some of the other motels in town. This place did not disappoint! Clean and Spanish rooms, quiet, a few different exits and contactless check-out. Theres a small fridge and option for AC/ fan / heat. Price is the standard for the area which is a little pricey but would stay again.
The most expensive of our journey and the only one with no breakfast included. The room has a very stained carpet which left an unclean feeling, l would not go back. The restaurant was ok.
Very clean, modern and spacious room. A bit on the pricier side ($150/night with taxbut its definitely your best bet in town! I was looking for a place to stay while I was in town for work and everything else is just substandard to this place. Stay here and you wont regret it!
The Marathon Habour Inn was a tremendous surprise. My first stay was great. For those who have travelled Northern Ontario know the large chain hotel are few and far between. The facility was bright and clean. The staff wonderdul to deal with. I recommend you stay here if you are in the area. It was my first...wont be my last.
Unplanned stop due to a flat tire in the back woods. Nice clean room, friendly front desk staff. Yet a bit pricey at $129+tax for the night. I guess thats the rate for the nicest place to stay in town. Reason for 3 stars? 9am checkout with no flexibility. Explained that I cannot get my car fixed until 12pm the next day as the Canadian Tire is closed till then. Was told I would have to pay for another full night. $129+tax for a 3h late checkout? Its not like this place is anywhere full capacity. It would literally cost them nothing more to clean the room at 12pm since check-in is not until 3pm, also with no flexibility. I had to wait outside for the worker to start her shift at 3pm. Disappointed.
Nice room with warm atmosphere. Only one thing, we were missing coffee maker but no big deal, addictive people can buy it cross the street ;)
Very clean, basic amenities. Excellent cable package. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend, best hotel in Marathon without question.
Great. Super friendly front desk staff, easy check in and check out. Nice little room, everything very clean and well taken care of. No complaints for this place at all.
Reserved for new accommodation okGot there they put me in old room. I felt funny when they did this. Natives dont deserve nice rooms. Maybe they thought Id trash it. I felt sad. But I accept how people are.
A long over due review. On our way from eastern Canada to the west, we found this nice little hotel just a few kms away from the Trans-Canada Highway. Te hotel is fairly clean and perfect for a night stopover. The town small and people friendly. The staff at the hotel friendlier and amazing. They suggested the Pebble beach and visit was amazing.Few restaurants in town as well which was more than we expected. Nothing fancy about the hotel, but the staff were the best
My room was very zen in regards to decor, but ultimately comfortable, quiet and clean. The front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again if I am in that area of Ontario.PS - Nearby Pebble beach is beautiful
The Harbour Inn was such a quiet place to stay. My room was great and my bed was super comfy. Next time I visit Marathon, I know where I am staying.
Clean, courteous and friendly staff, limited continental breakfast. We arrived on a day that was a holiday in Canada and it was very foggy, but had a good stay.
Not a lot in marathon, but this was a good hotel. Doesnt look like much outside but the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cereal and bagels etc. All you really need. Close to a restaurant with good food and a 5 minute walk to a mall and Canadian tire.
Quaint little Inn, but exactly what we needed after a full day of meandering around Lake Superior. Be sure to drive a little further into town and view Jellicoe Cove and Pebble Beach. Rooms are comfy and a very simple continental breakfast is available to take back to your room. A quiet surprise in Marathon.
Just off the Trans-Canada Highway. Very clean, comfortable, reasonably priced rooms with good coffee and a variety of continental breakfast items included in price of the room. Highly recommended! Drive down to the lake for beautiful views of the Pebble Beach and Skin Island.
Nicest place to stay in Marathon. The room was clean, no complaints about that. There was also complimentary breakfast. The lady at the front desk was very nice. I went prepared to pay cash, and THEY DONT TAKE CASH. Well she did the next day, but I needed to pay with my card first. The room was $130, and there is a $150 deposit that you get back.We were in the new building, I found it a bit odd that there are two buildings... but no biggie.Overall it was a good experience, but my reasoning for 4 stars is because of the money stuff. Thankfully I had a credit card and I could put $280 on it for the night... but not everyone can do that.
Absolutely the worst experience. Rude staff. 10 PM arrive and the wouldnt accept cash. Credit card only. I had cash for the night and for the deposit. Still a no.So myself and 8 year old daughter had to continue for 7-8 more hours to thunderbay to find a place to stay.Brutal
kind of noisy to outside traffic. lack of usb plug-ins no exhaust fan in bathroom. an in room iron would be nice for people visiting for occasions involving formal dress. nice friendly staf and very clean rooms.
Loved staying here. Travelling from Calgary Alberta with my children heading to Toronto and this hotel was by far the best! Everyone was so friendly and the room was so spacious and super clean. Will recommend to anyone travelling through that town. Beautiful town!!!!!!
Clean efficient rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Room has no iron or microwave. Skip the complimentary breakfast, crappy coffee. Beautiful area. Go to Pebble Beach and be amazed.
...surprisingly clean, well, exceptionally clean (bathroom literally sparkledand spacious modern rooms (so far as roadside inns and motels). The staff were accommodating, engaging, entertaining and helpful. The town is breathtaking and worth many return visits, even for a non hunting and fishing fella like myself.Book ahead when coming into or planning a visit to Marathon, this hotel is busy and the town is gorgeous, definitely worth it.No restaurant or hot breakfast but a nice little spread for the guests in the morning.
Very clean, friendly staff. Rooms are quite roomy. We would stay again if in the area. One of my companions left her glasses and Kindle and the staff tracked us down immediately so that we could backtrack and pick it up.
Just want to inform EVERYONE, this hotel is 100% SMOKE FREE AND PET FREE. I have tried to contact Google regarding this matter. Perhaps when Google reads this they will make the change. AGAIN TO CLARIFY, THIS HOTEL IS NOT PET FRIENDLY. GOOGLE IS NOT VERY GOOD AT FIXING ISSUES BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION
Its a bit pricey for what you get in the room, its absent of what you usually find; coffee maker, office space. It still had a TV and small (end table-sizefridge, and a king bed instead of a queen or double which was comfy. The room however was clean and inviting, the staff were polite. There is a continental breakfast, however its a small spread. Its close to the road so you still get traffic noise, but otherwise it was quiet at night. Few amenities close by except a gas station across the road, and a bar that serves food the next lot over, but it is pet friendly. Its a small town so everything closes early (around 6pm).
The motel has a new building which I was put up in so it was very clean. The bed and numerous pillows made for a very comfortable sleep. It was very quiet so that also helped getting a good night sleep. They include a continental breakfast which is nice so you can get going early in the morning.
A very clean, well-maintained small-town hotel. Its not the Ritz, but the beds are very comfortable, the staff friendly (thanks Edwina and Emily), and the shower is warm, with great pressure, and newly installed (summer 2017).Predictably the breakfast is carbs central with very limited options for protein. Boiled eggs would be amazing. :)Totally recommended for visit to Marathon and Pukaskwa National Park.
Staff was friendly. Room was immaculate. Hallways were exceptionally clean. They cater to folks with allergies to pets - so refreshing! Its so difficult to find a hotel that does not allow pets or smoking. Nothing worse than arriving at your room after a very long day of driving and spending the night wheezing and having itchy eyes, because a previous guest had a pet in the room.It was great to have a good nights sleep in a hotel.Google has mistakenly posted that they are pet friendly.
Lovely and clean Inn! We were greeted by the warm and friendly clerk, Edwina. Very comfortable beds and great size room. Thank you Marathon Harbour Inn! Google reviews were spot on!!
This place definitely lived up to the good reviews written here. Best service and quality stay. Enjoy if you choose them for your stay!
Cleaning staff does a great job and the rooms are cleaned well, but the inn could use some new finishings. Not sure what happened in the room previously but judging by those quilts somebody had a lot of fun.
For a small town hotel, it was one of the best Ive ever stayed in. Comfy pillows, adjustable shower pressure and clean. The two ladies that I dealt with at the front desk were very welcoming and a joy to talk to.
Very nice building quality, beds and bathrooms. Not the same amenities as a city-based chain hotel, but room and hallway was cozy. Bar fridge was making weird noises, keeping me up, but Im sure other rooms dont have that problem.
Great place to stay! Friendly and helpful staff, super clean rooms and bathrooms. Its pretty close to the rail lines but unless youre a light sleeper, its not that big of an issue.
New building rooms are good - nice big bathroom appeared to be set up as accessible for someone in a wheelchair. Breakfast limited and not the greatest but coffee was hot and drinkable!
This is a really nice place. Price seems on the high side, but considering how rural the place is, it could be a lot worse. Desk staff is very friendly. Jennifer spent some time anwering my questions about the town, and we had a really good conversation. I would recommend this place.
