Nice accommodation near Santa Alena town center. Feels very homey and wood materials give it mountain atmosphere. Monteverde has much different climate than the coast and can really be cold!

The rooms here are quite small, but they are comfortable. Breakfast was good and timely. The reception was hit or miss. We had a good experience with two of the folks working there, but not the best with the third person we encountered.

Es un lugar pequeño y cómodo. Las camas son muy cómodas y las habitaciones súper lindas! El personal es sumamente amable y servicial, nos recomendaron que hacer, nos trajeron comida a la habitación y nos ayudaron en todo momento! Está muy bien ubicado y de noche es silencioso 🥰

Frühstück ist leider nur Mittelmaß, aber die Zimmer, der Ausblick, die Betten sind einfach wunderbar.Ich würde hier, jederzeit wieder hinfahren.Breakfast is medium quality. But the room, the view and the beds are great.I would definitely come back.

For the price the room was great with a comfortable bed, and the staff were very helpful. However it was really noisy, we were by a communal room that people stayed up late in and were woken up early by the room next door playing loud music, the walls are paper thin! So only good if you don’t mind noise.

Virtually everything here is perfect. Location is great - only 5 minutes walk away from the centre but far enough away so it is relatively quiet when you’re outside.The welcome and service is excellent with the staff helping me book tourist attractions in the area.The rooms are very good with comfortable beds, lovely patio with garden, great shower.The breakfast was really nice and there are various places to comfortably sit inside or outside plus there’s a nice bar.Very reasonable pricing also, so what is not to like!!!!Fully recommend

Phenomenal facility! The service was on the mark! Most of the rooms had everything you needed! When asked about extra towels or blankets they were on it! Breakfast was great! Good variety and the cafe was open late and has a cozy atmosphere. The location overlooked all of Monteverde and the sunsets were remarkable! We were in Costa Rica for 2 weeks and loved the mar inn so much we can back at the end of our trip.

Fina rum men blev lite kallt på nätterna. Frukosten fanns det 4 olika alternativ att beställa och okej men inte super.

Good place to lay your head at reasonable prices. A little bit of a walk into town, but fortunately they have a restaurant in the hotel.

Nice place to stay one night to visit Monteverde

We had a fun stay. Clean rooms. Breakfast was a bit too early for us, but the town was near by and theres lots of options there.

Unfortunately there is very loud road noise well into the night. The windows and doors barely reduce it at all. The beds are not comfortable and the plumbing was leaking during showers.

Le personnel est très aimable et serviable les chambres sont propres. Le petit-déjeuner correct. Par contre la literie est horrible très dure et peu confortable il faut la changer.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant served tasty food that was fairly priced. The rooms were clean and spacious. My only complaint is that the rooms were not soundproof.

Lugar estupendo. Habitación bonita, amplia y modernita.Baño completo con secador.Desayuno genial, con varios menús para elegir.

First, the super nice & helpful gentleman who helped us in the evening made our stay very enjoyable. The location is great, the breakfast even better. My only advice is to bring ear plugs because the walls and floors let a lot of sound through.

Muy bonito lugar, la atención excelente, te dan detalles de los diferentes tours que se pueden hacer en la zona, asimismo, te colaboran con hacer las reservaciones correspondientes; las habitaciones son como se muestran en Booking agradables, importante es que son dos hoteles con un mismo administrador el otro hotel se llama Don Taco. Las instalaciones cuentan con restaurante, el desayuno es incluido en la tarifa y cuentan con 4 opciones a escoger, a su vez vez existe un bar con Happy Hour.

Knowledgeable staff and courteous service

We stayed for the weekend and received great customer service at reception, the restaurant and the bar. Any tours or taxis we wanted were booked at the front desk. Conveniently located and walkable to town. Taxis back only 1000 colones (steep hill). Would highly recommend for budget travelers.

A nice and cozy place to stay. Our double room was very big and bright! Its was also sparkling clean in both room and the bathroom! The guy on the reception was very friendly and welcoming!

Nice staff. Lodge feel.

I stayed here for 2 nights. The place is comfortable and cozy. It is at a walking distance from the hearts of monteverde and still quite and peaceful. The view of the mountains is amazing. The breakfast was tasty. I had one issue with the room that the curtain bar kept falling right on the bed which was scary.

The place is very well located, it has very nice rooms, with tv, private bathdroom, air conditioner, a small fridge, comfortable beds and the view its increíble, they have parking lot, breakfast and they have very good customer service, the cost for the rooms is very afordable . Monteverde is a place where you must do tours to enjoy the environmental, you can reserve in the reception desk.

Great little property in Monteverde. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The property is basic, but serves the need for a few nights stay. There is a nice breakfast that is included. The rooms again are basic and small, but very comfortable. The bed was amazing for such an inexpensive place. I would recommend if you are travelling on a budget.

My room was cozy, nothing fancy but very cute! I like that there is a kitchen area to cook your own food, a terrace with a wonderful view, and friendly staff all around! Anthony went above and beyond to help me when I realized I had forgotten to print some necessary documents for my travel. Very grateful for and impressed by this!

The room was comfortable and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is located a 5 min walk from town but the walk back to the hotel is a little steep but this is expected in monteverde. Overall a great place to stay.

Sauberes Zimmer mit grossem Bad. Matratzen sind aber sehr weich. Das Frühstück könnte großzügiger ausfallen, aber der Wäscheservice ist 1a. Und sogar ein kl. Kühlschrank steht auf dem Zimmer. Parkplatz vor der Tür oder ein paar Meter hinter dem nächsten Hotel gibt es noch einige mehr davon. Die Verständigung mit der Rezeptionistin gestaltete sich als etwas schwierig...

Comfortable bedrooms. Awesome WI-FI. Clean bathrooms with hot water, witch we didnt have a lot of.

Superior comfort and service. Extremely affordable pricing. Had a flat tire and the owner helped by taking me to the tire shop for a repair. The Wi-Fi connection is better then the Hilton in Liberia.

Decent room and friendly staff. Located in the middle of the city, which is convenient. Breakfast was better than many other places. Id stay here again.

Mar Inn is a fantastic place to stay. I spent three nights there in January 2014 as part of a longish trip through Central America staying at reasonably priced hotels and B&Bs. I have to say it was the best place I stayed. The staff (family runwere incredibly friendly, spoke English and were always on hand to help with day trip bookings. The place is fairly new with rooms that are well furnished and decorated. They also serve excellent breakfasts and offer free tea / coffee all day and will do your laundry for a few dollars. You can also cook your own food in the kitchen if you want to save costs. I normally wouldnt bother to write a review but this place really impressed me!
