Needs attentionIt is a historical monument
A dilapidated monument. It was built by Nawab Saadat Ali Khan, the sixth nawab of Awadh as a mausoleum for his mother, Chhattar Kunwar Rathore, the second wife of Shuja ud Daula.Saadat Ali Khan was the half brother of Nawab Asaf ud Daula and ascended the throne of Awadh after his nephew, Wazir Ali was thrown out of power by the British. The nawab named the Chhattar Manzil at Lucknow also in his mothers honour and himself rests at his tomb in Lucknow next to the Qaiserbagh complex with his wife Khurshid(MushirZadi lying in a separate tomb next to him.As for Chhattar kunwar, she was always given a lower status than Bahu Begum the first wife of Shuja ud Daula in the royal court and household. Saadat Ali Khan after acceding to power made powerful and perhaps somewhat successful attempts to raise her value and status and thus built this mausoleum in her honour. However the monument currently stands in a neglected state continually losing its awe and glory due to overwhelming encroachment by the locals in every corner and the reckless attitude of the neighbourhood residents and the authorities towards this piece of tangible heritage of Lucknow
