Монастырь был основан в 1733 году. В 1921 года Манджушри-хийд послужил убежищем для Богдо-гэгэна VIII после освобождения его из-под китайского ареста специальным отрядом ген. Р. Ф. Унгерн-Штернберга. Территория монастыря используется как объект туризма; там действует турбаза. Рядом поселение Зуунмод.

Its the closest day out from the Ulaanbaatar. If you want to do a full day hiking, thats the place I would recommend.

Surrounded by peaceful atmosphere. Good for hiking, meditation, listening inner self or weekend family getaway. No restaurants are there please bring your food and drinks.

former monastery site. the musem is a joke with badly stuffed animals, but the settings and area is truly nice. feels a bit derelict, the kiosk store at parking lot waves from decades ago.

On the other side of the mountains that face onto UB, you’ll find this once glorious monastery. You can’t help but get chills as you walk up to what’s left of its former glory knowing that the complex was burned and monks butchered. Such peaceful surrounds make it difficult to comprehend. Apparently, it is possible to walk through the hills to get here from UB but you need a day.

Hidden gem outside of UB. You have to drive or get a taxi to take you to the other side of Bogd Khan mountain. Quite and serene place.
