This 3,359-ft-long steel flying roller coaster features 4 inversions with speeds of up to 56 mph.
My conservative Christian mother yelled obscenities the whole time. It was amazing.
Nice rollercoaster if you don’t mind getting wet
This was the favorite coaster at this park for everyone in the family, but myself. Left me with a sore neck.
It’s pretty good coaster. Looks Intimidating but not that bad at all. Please take my advice and sit closer to the front. The g forces on the back is just too much. I like the part with the fountains especially. And if you come during non peak times it’s usually a walk on
When you first get on the ride and the seats move into the flying like position, it is slightly concerning. However once the ride starts it is amazing, the elements were great, super smooth, loved it.
Real superman feel! Felt like I was literally flying!
Every time I try to ride this coaster it’s closed. This past week was no exception when a train got stuck on the lift hill. I remember it being ok but that was 3 years ago when it happened to be open when I was there.
Would have been better but rain got us
Like flying in an pre WW2 fighter. A verticle dive followed by 2 , half out side loops before setteling down into a regular fast coaster finish. I look forward to riding it again.
Out of all the roastercoasters in Florida, this easily is on the Top 10 list. The amount of g-force you get when flipping is insane. The queue line is pretty great it has two plus sides. One is that you can see an aquarium where the coaster is built underneath of. You can see fish, stingrays and sharks roaming around. Great for kids if they love to see this type of scenery. And the last plus is that its in doors so A/C is running. The only downfall about this attraction is that it goes down too fast for maintenance problems. I dont know why someone isnt always near the attraction to fix it rapidly or at least update it to prevent more downtime. So you either have to go on the ride right in the morning, maybe a good 20 - 30 minute wait or not at all, a very tough choice.P.S. - Please dont wait for the front row, if you do the ride might go down and youll have a bad time.
One of the coolest line ques I have seen. Passing through the aquariums makes the wait fly by.After the ride absolutely check out the full aquarium, the rays swinging over your head you can get lost for hours. The ride is amazing as it tilts you forward and you feel like you are flying it is wonderfully fun.
My favorite ride at Sea World! The position is weird compared to other rides, because you are facing down the whole time (you can’t not look down). I thought it was going to be uncomfortable and scary because of the position, but it was the exact opposite! It did feel like I was flying (which was probably the intention)! I’m disappointed that it only lasted like 30 seconds. Wish it had gone on more longer!Warning though: lines can get really long at times. Best to go near closing time. Lines become a 5 minute wait time, and you won’t see the ground as well.
2nd favorite ride in the park behind Mako. I was a little disappointed with my last visit. Only one side of the station was being used and it was a very busy day. Line was over an hour.
Pretty unique from having guests ride facing down. A pretty smooth ride & intense especially when it pulls some negative Gs. Probably one of the better rides in Sea World Orlando. The line to the attraction is also interesting, having views into various fish tanks.
This is by far, one of my favorite rollercoasters. If you like crazy rollercoasters, this is for you. This rollercoaster constantly has inversions and the craziest part is when it goes upside down.
Do i get that right that you have to pay for a locker. Only to be able to ride? This is not okay
My first time going on this coaster and it was a blast! Definitely will go to this coaster again!
the crew here seems to have no empathy that people are trapped face first on the brake run for 4 mins while they chitchat and slowly load the next train, send it and forget to roll us in. i have a headache.
Manta is a must-ride if you are a thrill seeker in the Orlando area. The queue is well themed, the color of the track, train and supports are visually appealing, the flying position is very unique and surprisingly comfortable, and the layout is thrilling without being overly intense. I would recommend riding this first, though, as it racks up quite a line...
My favorite flying coaster that Ive ridden! Really like the finale over the water :)
A great ride and a perfect entry-level coaster to prepare yourself for the big rides. The pretzel loop is also very intense in the back.
More tame with drops, different seating than other rides, great views, and pretty quick
Best roller coaster ever this was a very fun ride.it looks scary but when ride it, its really fun and medium pace view is amazing and feel safe n secure in coaster!!
Unique rollercoaster, seating position is kinda annoying in the station but once it’s going, it’s fine.Queue line is very unique too.
What a ride. Longer wait than the ride.
So much fun! One of our favorite rides and a must ride for sure! The fact you ride the whole time flying face down is awesome!
Im not a Rollercoaster person but My kids love this ride and say is awesome.
Ride is great, but they leave you hanging horizontally for 5 minutes once the ride is over
Dont get me wrong. This is a good ride, but if you suffer from a bad back this will hurt it. I only ride it once per visit. My son usually goes on it 3-4 times in a row.
Amazing Coaster, very fun.Only part that dragged was waiting for the next ride to load up in order to get off.
Manta at SeaWorld is a flying coaster with a collection of really great elements. The first drop and then flip onto your back for the loop is delightfully forceful. The entire ride is very smooth and the passes near the water and waterfall are fantastic. I found the back right the most enjoyable, but the front is great for the views. There was hardly a wait, but it does take a while to unload and load the trains.
The best B&M Flyer on the east coast of the US. The custom layout and interaction with the paths below as well as the entire second half of the ride really set this apart as an amazing roller coaster.
Okay so my first time on this we got there and it was chained off and shut down for technical difficulties. We waited in line for almost 2 hours just for the ride to open back up but we were 1st in line. This lay down coaster makes you feel like youre flying! I loved it. The drop, the loop, all of it if the line wasnt so long I would have done it again!!
I love this roller coaster especially the pretzel loop. The flying position makes it very unique. Not really much to say besides this is an amazing roller coaster.
It was an amazing experience for me and the pretzel loop was one of the most intense elements Ive ever experienced on a coaster.
Rode this as my first roller coaster and the experience was amazing for me as first time riding a roller coaster the Pretzel loop and the corkscrew loop where my favorite part of the whole ride the wait was so worth it was longer than the wait that was on the ride entrance because one of the trains stopped working so they had to shift everyone to our side so slow it down but once I got on the ride I was a scared right at first but got over that quickly and I now love roller coasters this is so smooth and certainly better than the Kraken Coaster because of me having Major Brain Surgery back in May of 2008 I was not sure that allowed to ride roller coasters or not but after I got in touch with the doctor who did my surgery and gave me the clearance to ride I accepted the be brave challenge got on my first roller coaster
The ride was super fun and it was a great experience to be able to ride the way the coaster positions you. On the other hand the nearly 2 hour wait sucked.
Definitely the best flying coaster out there (and my kids favorite), but Im still not fanatical about flying coasters in general. Its good, but Ill take a hyper coaster, wing coaster, or inverted coaster over a flyer 9 times out of 10.
I have been on plenty of coasters but this is definitely a unique ride. You sit in it and then it tilts you back and you are parallel with the track. It gives a flying sensation that I have never experienced before. Ride feels like it pulls a few Gs, has several twists and turns. One loop for sure, maybe two (I dont rememberplenty of inversions... usually the first ride I go on when arriving at the park.
Today, this was the only ride open, but it was enough. It is right near the entrance to the park, so of course, I decided to get right on it as soon as I entered the park.I couldnt, of course, convince any of my friends to jump on it with me, but they would not. After riding it, I cant really blame them. It was one of the most thrilling rides Ive ever been on. It lasts about a minute, I think. Its hard to tell with the rush of wind and sound flying by. In fact, Im amazed that they called it the Manta. It doesnt gently glide through the air like a manta in the water. Maybe the Orca or Sturgeon, instead.Dont expect to be able to enjoy the sights of the park on this ride. You wont see anything, except the water from your eyes, perhaps. At the point that this hits a loop, I couldnt imagine what kind of G-forces I was feeling, but if it wasnt the equivalent of a Space Shuttle launch, Id be surprised. Finally, youre ratcheted into a device that has you hanging face down, looking at the ground far below you. If you are at all prone to motion sickness, afraid of heights, dont like high speeds, being upside down or spine and neck injuries, this probably isnt your ride. That doesnt leave a lot of us, I guess, but for those of us who arent subject to these things, best of luck. Its a one of a kind, for sure.
I do have complaints about Manta mostly regarding everything before and after the ride. Even though the station has two sides, only one is normally used, so the loading takes longer than it should. While this is bad for wait times, its even worse when youre on the train not getting loaded waiting ages to get off. This wouldnt normally be a problem if you had any freedom to move, look around, or even be in a comfortable natural position while youre waiting to get off. The vest presses your chest, your legs arent free to move, and your head can either hang or look ahead. This is frustrating because this issue, along with a slow moving queue, could easily be alleviated if they would simply use both stations. It seems illogical to not do so, as Manta is the most popular ride in the park, moreso than even newer rides like Mako and Antarctica.Aside from this, Manta is perfect, and one of the best flying coaster experiences in the world. The theming is the best among the seaworld coasters, with an air conditioned queue that has its own aquarium. Its hard to get bored in this dimly lit and ambient queue with pretty music playing and rockwork and fish on all sides. The soundtrack becomes even more triumphant in the station, where an intimidating mechanical sound effect plays when the cars lift from sitting to flying. The coaster itself is great. With swooping turns and slow inline twists, flying over the flowers and even near Antarctica is a fun treat. The second half is even better, as the wing dip gets riders on the far right a little wet, and swooping past a waterfall gets far left riders sprayed on their legs. The landscaping is beautiful and picturesque in this section, and it would be the best part of the ride were it not for the first element on the coaster: the pretzel loop. Contrasting the rest of the coasters gentle flips and curves, the pretzel loop is one of the most intense elements on any coaster. You get airtime as you crest a hill, then nosedive straight down so far that you go upside down, and then experience huge G forces as you flip to the bottom now on your back... and as you level out again, you get airtime once more as you crest another hill. The ride is gentle after this, but the pretzel loop is not for the faint of heart.
Wow! Just wow! Flying in your secured floor less seat, being swept into the air with endless loops and explosive dives, hang on tight!*take off you hats, bags, and glasses, and empty your pockets! (Lockers provided)
Super smooth and fast and the g-force is super thrilling. It truly feels as if you are flying! This is a good coaster for people trying to get over their fear as it is a thrill ride. The restraints are also pretty comfortable and there was no head banging.
Fast and smooth. Brilliant ride. Downside is the hanging around whilst waiting to dock.
I still cant believe my 17 year old daughter talked me into going on this ride. It was terrifying!!!!! Thank God I have a pacemaker, because I think my heart may have stopped on this!! I would not recommend this for people with over 50!! Lol!! I was scr re among and praying all at the same time the entire ride!!
My favorite roller coaster ever! I used to be petrified of roller coasters and this was the first one I ever tried. It was so much fun that now I absolutely love going on roller coasters. Is usually a relatively short wait, the track is smooth, and the seats are surprisingly comfortable even though they are holding you flat on your stomach. Really different experience being on a rollercoaster looking downward like youre flying.
Unbelievable flying coaster. That first drop/loop changed my life (for the better). Do NOT miss this coaster on your next visit to SeaWorld Orlando!
Really fun ride, I recommend riding the front seat to actually feel like you are flying. Ride is pretty intense but feels really smooth! Its the perfect B&M flyer. Strains are really comfortable but be warned, Manta tends to get crazy lines.
Wow! What an experience! I have never been on a roller coaster like this one before. I absolutely loved how different it was to be face down, almost as if you were flying or hang gliding. The backwards roll was so awesome. You could definitely feel the g-forces on that one. Hands down my favorite coaster at SeaWorld!
Great ride experience and were lucky enough to have short wait times. Get some good views across the park as well as thrills. The slightly different hanging ride may not be for all, especially those who do not like being harnessed in and their legs restrained.
