1000 Brussels, Belgium, Charleroi
Iconic 17th-century fountain with a bronze statue of small boy, dressed in costume during festivals.
It’s in the city center near lots of tourist attractions and Brussels Central Station. I went there on Saturday, very crowded indeed. People can’t see up close, but it’s totally fine to visit because you will see interesting places along the way. If you see this Manneken Pis statue, you can finally say “Yes, I’ve been to Brussels”.
One of those things that you end up doing because its like stamping your passport.Had a lot more fun with the graffitis you find everywhere.
Maneken Pis is an emblem to this city. It is often dressed in different clothes. The place is always crowdy.
An icon of Brussels very close to the Grand Place. But very anticlimactic once you see it. One of those places which disappoints if you miss it or if you see it!
Not super amazing, but worth a stop if you’re close by. Small statue, but interesting when they dress it up. It was on our route to the hotel, so we saw it daily.
A cute little sculpture, one of Brussels’ attractions. The sculpture is really not that big so low your expectation. The surrounding area is somehow clean despite a lot of visitors. It’s an easy walk from the center.
Nothing impressive, not to miss or anything of importance whatsoever. There are at least 50 more amazing statues youll find just walking on the way there 😃 And at least two fountains. Of course there is the historical value and humor, but the statue is nothing but a good replica. Probably better to visit the city museum if you have to choose.
The famous Manneken-Pis remains the emblem of the rebellious spirit of the City of Brussels (festivals). His wardrobe counts more than 900 suits.
The statue is much smaller than I tough, none the less cool to see this historic place
Best waffles with your favorite. Toppings are available. All you can see is chocolate and sweets everywhere.
Iconic with a lot of history, and easy to tick off your list when you’re strolling through Brussels center. The statue is regularly dressed up in different costumes. HOWEVER, it is probably best if you visit knowing what to expect (small statue, busy crowds).
One of must visit landmarks in Brussels, the real size is very small that expected, they take care of him with customs to wear in each celebration or special day.
Nice place to visit, the area is beautiful and close to the famous " Grant Place". You have to visit Brussels.
Its a fountain with the statue of a little lad taking a leak in it. A bit of fun for 5 or 10 minutes but not much more. It does, however, provide a gateway to a load of frite shops, chocolate shops, cafes and bars so well worth the trip and have a great time exploring the Grand Place and surrounding area.
Not sure whats the hype about this little pee boy is but definitely weird to find this as a place of Intrest. Also weirder to find the replicas of this made of chocolate and in souvenir shops !! 😆Went here cause of just the hype, a small Statue on the wall and thats what it is. Lot of excited people around !
It is a beautiful statue, no doubt but because of the popularity, it is always overcrowded - if you are thinking youll be able to get just your photo here with the statue - forget it. There are always like 50 people around it. And as others have mentioned, its quite small, despite what may appear from the photos.
Not too special in my opinion, but nice to see. Be prepared for a really large crowd in front of the statue, just hope for good timing and snap the picture really quick. Fun thing is that the statue gets dressed up differently almost every day. While you are there, enjoy a good Belgian waffle. I had the one with strawberries and white chocolate, very good.Did you know there is also a female and dog version of the Manneken Pis? Called Jeanneke and Zinneke Pis. Both not as busy and within short walking distance of Manneken Pis
Definitely one of the most important spots to visit in Brussels but it’s way smaller in real life than on the photos.
It seems a must visit attraction in Brussels as it is mentioned in every travel channel, travel blog or travel book. But when seeing it with my own eyes, I was a bit disappointed. It’s so tiny! And the little square is very crowded. Having been to Brussels twice and visited this little guy twice 4 years apart, I have not got a chance to see it is dressed on the fountain. But I see it in different costumes in a nearby costumes museum. Note this statue is a replica. The original one is stored and displayed at the City Museum ( Museum de la Ville de Bruxelleslocated at Grand Place.
Little dude taking a wee on everyone. This is what R Kelly saw and took too seriously unfortunately. So many people here all the time. Brussels is super pretty in the summer and little boys taking a public wee notwithstanding, this is a nice part of town which everyone should visit on their trip to this lovely city.We walked around in the area to Mary which has lovely chocolate
This outfit was inspired by the blue heart campaign against human trafficking. This attraction really brings in a crowd. Might have been one of my favorites as well.
It was great to see the little man in person. I have always known of Manneken Pis so it was a big tick of my list! It is great that this is free.
Well known statue in Bruxelles. Smaller than you think, but still very enjoyable.
What a song and dance about nothing special! The small insignificant black statue with no charm or attraction taking pis of the crowd for generations. I want my money back from my tour operator for wasting my time!!!😡😡😡
The one loving figure we have been seeing from centuries..witnessing the real figure was definately adorable..and the immense courage tales that goes behind the deed was worth paying a heed.we were at the 25th celebration of the creation of the place and it was full breaming with people..worth a visit and nicely lined with some mouthwatering waffles to make ur day yummier and crunchy fries to simply blow your mind and all of this without burning a hole in ur pocket
Its pretty cool, theres actually a guy there with a shirt that says"official dresser" because they dress the statue in different clothes all the time. There also seems to be a strange parade that goes to it with giant folks on sticks and men dressed in drag. Quite entertaining to watch.
this statue of a little boy doing his business with a naughty smile on his face perhaps depicts the fun nature of brussels. the statue itself is small in size & reminded me of how I felt when I first saw the Monalisa. keep your expectations limited and you wint be disappointed. definitely worth visiting if you are in brussels.
Its very small statue near center. Nothing much to see. A place where usually young people go to celebrate and be loud and jump over the fence. Just need to see , make photo and go in your way exploring Brussels
It was smaller than I imagined but how fascinating it is to have people come from all over the world to see a statue, after all, of someone peeing. However it is beautiful, like the streets of Brussels are.. a cute statue.
While visiting Brussels this is a must visit place for its value in Brussels history. There is nothing fancy a out this place but it will always be crowded with tourist and there are of cafes around this place for waffles, french fries, Belgium chocolates, and lots more.Must Visit ..but its nothing much
Really enjoyed visiting this little chap, seeing his different outfits each time. Was pretty busy the first few times we went but early weekdays it was quiet and easy to get good photos.
We had a waffle by the statue. The crowd was thick! I liked that the statue had changes of outfits from one day to another. 😁
It is really small..but the cafes and shops around are quite nice!
He’s a nice little attraction to see. There’s a lot of excited people around him most of the day but still was able to get pictures. It’s a must see!
Great place. Youll enjoy the vibe. There are lots of shops serving waffle in various shapes which should be tried.
It was busy today. There were a lot of tourists here today. I am glad I visited today.nice little monumental statue. If ever you are in Brussels Central, you need to go see this statue.
Fun attraction in the middle of Brussels. Kinda funny because most people expect the Manneken Pis to be bigger than he actually is. Still its nice to have a little fountain in the city center. Opposite of the Manneken pis is located in the city center as well. The girl is located pretty close and also worth visiting.
30/04/22: having been to Brussels 4 times, it is only in the last few years that I have documented places Ive visited, as a part of my Google legacy. This time in Brussels I was celebrating my Stag Do with 18 friends. Probably one of the most famous photo opportunities in the whole of Brussels. Scout Day today, hence the little wee lad was eventually dressed as a Boy Scout!
This is also a must do if you come to Brussels....but dont expect it to be huge and magnificent..... its actually really small. Small doesnt mean unrelevant, or to be disregarded. Its like an awkwardness! This little guys is being dressed differently all the time. And the streets to to it are beautiful
Such a cool statue/water fountain. I heard a little about the history, but not sure what is true. Apparently this was put up.to honor a little boy that put out a fire by peeing on it? This could all be rumor but would love to know the truth! Great spot for some fun photos, it does get crowded with tourists though!
Definitely the most disappointing tourist attraction Ive ever seen. I knew it would be small, but its actually even smaller, I wouldnt even notice it, if it wasnt for the crowd around. You can just stop by to take a quick photo and go on to the main square, its way more interesting.
Its historical object, and everyone visiting Brussels wants to see it. Me too. I saw it.
If you are there you might as well see. It is a very small statue but the lore is interesting. But the real attraction is the . . . check out the picture. The Grand Place or Grote Markt (central square of Brussels.
It will give you some laughter, a smile but it is simply a replica of the original piece.Just pay close attention to the attire that the mannequin dons, it represents what is happening at the time in brussels. The tree nearby is something to interest you.
Picture with Manneken Pis is a classic if youre visting Brussels, but dont get your hopes up, the statue is very small. The area around it is touristy, with gift shops and chocolate shops all selling the replica of the statue.Tip: If you like Manneken Pis, you may enjoy the other statues as well: Jeannecke Pis (girl), Zinneke Pis (dog)
The VERY famous Manneken Pis@Brussel..Loved the Belgium canals, chocolate, waffles and creepe.... Must visit place to come and enjoy their unique history..
Always surreal, because he is sooo small, but worth- while, just around the corner from Grande Place
Visited this place which is one of the tourist attractions of the city. The lanes and the surrounding showcase the old golden era of Belgium and city of brussels. Lot of old building and old rides are attractive. Many statues in this area symbolic to many beliefs of the people in the country. These lanes have many restaurants too where u can enjoy waffles and other food items. U also can have horse cart ride and enjoy the street musicians there performing in front of crowd.
It is Nice to see but you Need to understand fiesta why is this symbol so important. It can be crowded, but usually every one takes turn to take the picture and enjoy a couple of minutes appreciating the monument.
This statue is representation of historical events of a brave child. You will be bored or frustrated after finding this tiny status ultil aware of the real event. It is placed some distance from grand place. It is not in must visit list but you should aware of the event. Good place to visit in Brussels in hot weather.
