Built in 1920, this neoclassical government building houses the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.
Building access is appointments only. Tours must be scheduled ahead of time with the Tour Office.
Interesting architecture and history and is in active use. Greek, Roman and Egyptian influences in design for a grand effect.
Its awesome here π. Just checking out the lawlodge that was put up β¨πβ€οΈπ€. Have a great day everyone π
Its very nice π and important Arya!
Very beautiful building and friendly professional guards and awesome fantastic surroundings and green area with beautiful trees
Stopped by to support the trucker freedom rally this morning, had people yelling and lashing out about being puppets because my kids are wearing scarfs over their faces in the dam winter while its snowing, seriously this just made me change sides from going in support to saying they need to be removed so my 5 year old can wear a scarf and not get yelled at for it, this was a park for families too not just a protest encampment for idiots
A very heartfelt touching service for a Remembrance Day ceremony.God bless.
Its a nice place to walk around with family and friends. The surroundings are peaceful and lots of trees, benches too to sit down and read books so might as well to bring one if you want to go here.
Beautiful spot to stop by. Of course based on days...you may get the random protests and such as well here. Architecturally, it is worth some time to just observe.
beautiful. stunning. toured this gorgeous place once on a field trip and was privileged to watch a Parliamentary debate session and our class was acknowledged by the government etc. that was kinda cool π the only thing wrong with it is who the government isπ±
Nice place to walk around. Park your car and take a river walk to the forks.About 40 minutes of a round trip. Nice and gentle river breez.
Historic building and grounds. Stunning architecture. The home of the legislative body which governs the Province of Manitoba.
I put my hand in something gross in the grass and was washing it off in the fountain, the staff there asked me to please not "wash myself" in the fountain its decorative. I pointed out the people bathing their children in it just a few feet away in the same fountain but was told they dont stop them because they dont understand... wow
Love the building and every December and New Years is open house. Such an awesome place to feel and experience history. Tours are fun for kids.
My reviews outlining how Ive slowly uncovered how many ways employees of tge province has broken Canadian Law in denying me so much of what I am entitled too have thousands of views. Ive almost got my mind back. Id like access to an expense account to cover legal fees I would accrue if I wasnt left to figure out a way from under this mess by myself. It would save ne alot if trouble. As it is, along with the thousands of views on my detailed accounts of how Manitoba works for me under many pseudonyms, including this account, the information, corroborative evidence including names, details of events, agencies involved, right down to spelling out how so much of what the province passes off as normal is actually against the Law here in Canada, is all sorted into a box which will be shared with.....well everyone in the world including people whi watched me fight like a dog to eventually die like one by my own hand within the next couple of years if I get sick of dealing with further nonsense. Not because I want too but because Manitiba will have given me no choice. If you dont want to follow Canadian Law, then succede. Dont try and act like its the average CANADIANS responsibility to tow the line on an anti- Canadian agenda that is very apparently in action behind the closed doors of offices in this building.
Amazing place. Good Place for photos, came here for grad pics but lots and lots of people come here for wedding pictures and general photoshoots!!!
Beautiful surroundings and worth family - friends gathering point. Well decorated and managed for visitors.Must watch !
Went to see the beautiful lights and was blown away by how pretty and magical they were. What a wonderful way to get out of the house and do something fun!
During our Study Abroad Programme 2017 from University of Agricultural Sciences Dharwad, India. We were very opportune to visit Manitoba State Legislative building at Winnipeg. The entrance has 6 pillars and the other 3 sides have 4 pillars in each side. The most interesting story was to know how those two bison castings were installed inside the building after the roof was constructed. It offers hourly tours and it was very informative. The admission is free and one get an opportunity visit assembly hall and to inspect mace. The building is surrounded by a beautiful park and fountains and sculptures..
pretty nice at night during winter time. nice to have a little stroll!
Beautiful decorations during Christmas π π
The whole area is nice, and also the interior is nice to visit.
Interesting - nice walking grounds!
It was very nice specially the weather amazing
Lovely grounds and impressive building. Especially impressive at night with the lighting.
Great place to visit for free. Building is beutifull.
Nice place for a walk with family and friends, specially in the Winter with all the snow and xmas lights.
There are YouTube videos of the state legislature building. Walking tour with a guide. βThe building is designed to replicate an ancient temple from 600 BC. Beautiful! My wife and I Are planning a trip because of this short movie. Example of art tourismπ(And our tourism dollars into the pockets of Manitoba). Everybody wins :-.....
had a early morning 4 hour layover in Winnipeg, so i walked around downtown and came across this area.. the big buildings design looked interesting but for me the landscape was beautiful.. they had all kinds of plants, flowers and trees.. also never seen so many crows in one location. Also encountered a few aboriginal natives, they were friendly and kind people.
Old buddies fam works here. Its a cool place to visit. Alot of things to look at, but I mostly was here just for the field trip when I was younger. The dome area is pretty cool. But other than that its a part of history. A pretty old and classy looking building. However, its a nice place to visit.
I was really surprised on how rich this building is marble floors brass everywhere and the also that the materials used have such detail. You do have to sign in with valid ID there are free guided tours and lots of free parking. Also take the time to walk around outside this building and the work that was put into this is really worth the time.
Beautiful grounds to stroll through and get another Canadian history lesson as you read plaques around the grounds.Lots of green space with sculptures. If in Winnipeg I suggest coming down and taking a look for yourself.#localguides
This is a historical building and a tourist spot. You can visit the building and enjoy the architecture for free. There is a huge lawn surrounding the building and you can see the river behind the building. Nice place for a walk and jog.
Whilst I didnβt get time to go inside the building I throughly enjoyed the morning stroll I had throughout the grounds. Very beautiful building!
A public treasure. This building is so much more than government offices. With stunning architecture and a multitude of gorgeous sculptural and painted works it acts like a public museum. Go and walk around, you wont regret it.
Beautiful legislative building. Very impressive grounds and architecture.
Went on a 1-hour guided tour. Our tour guide was great and I learned that the building has some amazing history behind it!
This is a nice place to visit in Winnipeg. The staff is extremely nice and polite. There is a wonderful self guided tour and a guided tour. The bathrooms are very nice and clean.
Many interesting facts and just a great tour.
Incredible grounds and building, itll ignite cultic mysticism in anyone who catches a tour and makes a beautiful centerpiece for a Canadian city with a long history.Start a date at the forks and make your way to the gardens and walk around trying to spot all the Egyptian symbols and try to find what some people think is the "Ark of the Covenant"
Take the tour! There are so many interesting facts about the architectural design of the building and how some old superstitions were incorporated. Its a beautiful building, easy to access. Parking is near by and the grounds are lovely to wander on afterwards, there are memorials to discover, fountains to see and other historical buildings are near by. A must see in Winnipeg!
Beautiful building, and interesting tours.
Needs some repair....its a bit run down in places.
Historic building with great stonework. Very well maintained on the outside and gleaming shine on the inside. Giant bronze bison statues. Take a look up and down then youll see the legislatives mystery.Tours available. Beautiful fountain on the south lawn. Ample parking and close to other downtown historical buildings.
Beautiful building with stunning architecture and green spaces outside. Missed the free tours but there are free self-guide booklets by the entrance, which I was not made aware of by the staff. I only found out when I visited the gift shop at the end of my visit. There is a restaurant inside but is only open until 3:00 pm.
A beautiful building with a history. Beautiful architecture. The interior is great and they have tours multiple times almost everyday. Worth visiting and learning about it.
Beautiful building - the only sad thing was nothing was open - we just walked around the inside of the empty building. I dont know why they cant have the parliament doors open so you can see inside the chambers...but everything was locked.
A beautiful building full of history, architecture and art work. Best to go in the summer and walk around the building as well. Tour guides are very knowledgeable, its worth getting the tour. A must see for all visitors and new comers.
Looking forward to the grounds turning green this summer! The back grounds are great place to visit with friends or just hang out and read a book and catch some sunshine. The architecture is pretty awesome and spending time just walking around the building and looking at detail can have you spending hours there. Did you ever wonder who is depicted in that stone work?
The Manitoba Legislative Building is absolutely beautiful. It doesnt take too long to walk around each floor. The inside is as equally breath-taking as the outside. There are plenty of details to admire as you visit each floor and take in the massive structure and its openness. Its very clean and inviting to the public and well kept. There are tours offered, and you may also choose to do a self tour and explore the area by yourself. Youll find plaques with historical information and also gifts from other nations. If you head out back, youll find a water fountain that is stunning, and if you keep heading further, youll reach the Assiniboine River Walk that leads to The Forks. Be sure to arrive early though if youre looking for free visitor parking.
