5.5-hectare zoo & garden featuring diverse animals in modest, old-fashioned enclosures.
Beautiful, worth the wait. Too much has changed compared to how it looked before.Check their website for rules before going. Better to book for tickets before coming for less hassle.
Manila Zoo itself is very much worth it to stroll into. My only negative experience was the ticketing system online. A lot of people were still outside for hours because the connection strength is very bad there maybe due to it being congested. And when I say a lot of people, I mean it like the place was almost completely filled up. Despite the prior disappointment with the ticketing, this is really a great weekender to spend with yah all.
Great enhancements of the facilities from decades ago. Just noticed that the zoo had less animals upon reopening versus what they had prior its temporary closure.
The renovation project was a big success I like the new manila zoo, they only lack at dining tables if youre planning to eat inside
Manila Zoo is only for viewing animals and there is no such animal shows and interactions.. it would be great if they add extra facilities. The time spent to view the whole zoo is only one hour and 30 minutes.
NOW ON 15 NOVEMBER 2022 IT IS OPENEDThe Manila Zoo, formally known as the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden,[2] is a 5.5-hectare (14-acrezoo located in Malate, Manila, Philippines that opened on July 25, 1959. NOW ON 15 NOVEMBER 2022 it is opened
When I visited, the saffs are a bit unorganized, no arrows for exit, and although the cages are new, I still get the feeling that it still wont do. Parking is Php 50 and entrance is free
Great time for kids to see a real life size animalsBut pls maintain the cleanliness and discipline especially donate any amount to the zoo may help
This place was under renovation at the time we visited the place. Free entrace. Just provide your ID, vaxcard and youre good to go. My kid loved the experience!
Some parts of the zoo are still empty or closed since they are still in the process of renovation but overall it was a fun and we really enjoyed our visit especially my nephew. 😊 Will definitely visit again once its fully open.
Nice to ride Ferris wheel Roller coaster, bumper cars, super vikings atbp.
The place was still under construction when we went there last May 2022. However, it was still a good visit. The place needs more greenery. It still looks dry.
Went there last May 31st. The entrance fee was free but there was a notice that it is closed from June 1 onwards due to renovation. There are only a few animals in the zoo. The zoo park is big and clean but the staffs in the restrooms are rude.
We went there last Saturday. There are some places that are still under renovation. Hopefully, the next Mayor will continue to develop the said place. It is better than it was before. Great improvement.
Very promising. You can see a great improvement in the facilities and animal enclosures. Although there werent many animals to see, we enjoyed our visit because we are surprised with such great improvement with the zoo.
Looks very clean and modern. Its still a soft opening but I can see the potential once fully opened.
When we went here, the construction is still ongoing. But the facility is good and clean.
Never expected that the zoo will be looking differently nice than before. A good place to relax and educate our kids. Wish to have more animals though.
Its amazing to see changes in manila zoo. Clean Toilets and Public areas. But avoid going during weekends, its too crowded.
Still not fully operated. Dont go on weekends you will not enjoy the place. But I can see the potential once the place is finished and the animals are present.

We went to Manila Zoo last May 4 with my kids. Theres still no entrance fee and some of the attractions are still under renovation. Pero I can say that it has improved a lot! I cant wait to go back in there once the renovations are done. Pero some of the attractions are available and one of my favorite is the Butterfly garden ❤️ Thank you Mayor Isko! You really did a great job ❤️
The newly renovated Manila Zoo is still under progress but already open for public! No entrance fee yet! Just register in their logbooks before entering. Crowded on weekends, so free parking area is limited. It has a new look and new animals like the white tiger. The elephant is still there. No more giraffe and hippo / not yet placed. Butterfly and reptile sections are air-conditioned (long lines). It has a souvenir shop. Aviary is closed when we went there. Playground for kids is accessible. No food stalls, so you can bring food and drinks inside. Just make sure to practice CLAYGO. Can also refill your bottles with water from the drinking fountain. Clean restrooms. No pets allowed. Bring an umbrella! Opens from 8 am to 6 pm.
Free to the public but not yet fully operational. Has 5 live sections so far (elephant, tiger, lion, reptiles, butterflies).Looks really promising, comparable to SG and Avilon Zoos, just smaller. Hopefully its still affordable when fully operational.
The Manila Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in Manila and recently reopened to the public after a major renovation. The zoo looks completely brand new but it is half finished. There are spots that are closed off to the public and some debris from construction. Zoo personnel are scattered in all locations inside the zoo to assist patrons. As of writing, entrance is free to the public and masks are required while inside the premises.
New Manila Zoo is not fully finish. Some area are closed yet. It is still free. So hurry up now if you have plan to visit there. See ya!
The zoo is in the process of being upgraded. Entry is free for Manila residents at present. The zoo animals are relatively small in number compared to others I have been to but even so an enjoyable way to spend some time especially for children.
Still undergoing renovations but it looks promising! The walkway though is a little cramped so be ready to bump some shoulders when passing thru them. Overall, I like the new look and feel of the Manila zoo. Something to be proud pinoy!
I love the ambience of the place, the way all marshall treats the all visitor is very generous. Thank you Mayor Isko Moreno for all...
Zoo is ok, better at night . Childrens ROADSIDE SAFETY PARK (across the streetis interesting, quiet, relaxing and COOL. The whole park is in the shade.
Good job to Mayor Isko and team! A better Manila Zoo now. My kid enjoyed exploring the area. Free gala! 😊😊😊
The zoo can now be visited but the construction of other attractions were still in going. On our visit the main attractions:The elephant MaaliA lionA white tiger? Or a liger? Im not so sureBirds- eagles, hawk, ducks, peacocks and some other that I dunno the namesThe Butterfly GardenTheres also a reptile museum??Our visit was fun, we go there on a Sunday, theres a lot of visitors and a portion of the zoo were use as a vaccination site for the COVID virus
Entrance still free! Just few animals at the moment but drastic changes are very obvious! Clean, spacious and more shade! Good job!
Still under construction, but its free entry for now. Much smaller than avilon zoo, but its well designed and theres a lot of animals to see. Elephant, tiger, lions, reptiles, primates and a butterfly garden. The tour through the whole zoo takes about 30-60 minutes depending on how long you spend on each spot. No foods or drinks available so I recommend bringing your own water bottle and maybe some snacks.
It was fun and the place looks amazing.Kids do really enjoy going around, though its not yet full of animals but still they manage to make the visitors loved the experience there cause it really felt like a new place now.😍😍
Good place to go if youre around manila, not yet finished but they allow visitors already. Looking forward to when they finish the place, for those visiting please have discipline. This is a zoo not a park, dont go setting up a picnic on the hallways
Two stars are only because the entrance was free. It is still a work in progress or rather a construction site. It should not have been opened in such a state. There are very few animals to see, but lots and lots of people, occupying almost every inch of space. The animals seemed distress, especially the elephant: skinny and lifeless. The lines to visit reptiles and butterflies expositions were almost 100 meters long each. Maybe because we dropped by on Sunday. So if one really intends to go before they fully accomplish the construction, one should avoid weekends at all cost.
Still in renovation but you can see the difference.Kids are enjoyed the view.
There are no animals except one tiger and one elephant. A lot of areas are restricted due to the pandemic? Visit was not worth it.At the moment its free of charge.March 2022
Nothing much at the moment as it is used for childrens vaccination and still is under construction. But the elephant, lion and tiger are already for attraction.
As of now, the place is still under construction, pero may mga animals pa rin naman on display but not that many such as the elephant, hybrid zebras, deers, aviary, eagles.and butterflies. Hoping to see the complete construction soon.
Finally renovated! Ongoing construction aa of now but you can already enjoy the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden, a modernized and improved Manila Zoo! Enjoy natures beauty with different animals (as of now only few animals are in their different safety cagesin the midst of the City!!! What I like most is the butterfly garden! Dont miss it out as you can enjoy seeing different species of beautiful butterflies. A place perfect for family bonding that kids can enjoy the most! 😊
Good place for family bonding still works on going right now but some animals are available to look at like the lion, mali, monkeys , the birds and hebraThe ambiance is good too no more giant mosquitos 🤭 unlike before the renovation they did was awesome.@iampinaywanderer (do checkout my fb page)#iampinaywanderertravelstories#iampinaywanderertripseries
Manila City has greatly improved it though it is not fully completed. Will be visiting again once it is furnished with everything it needs.
Manila zoo still renovation. Now its open for public free. But not much animals are. An elephant , a horse. And few birds.(peacocks, eagles. Then the butterfly garden is only there at the moment (23-feb-2022)
On January 29, 2022, I was able to explore Manila Zoo with my Mom since our house is just nearby, and both of us had a great time sightseeing and checking out the entire zoo. The place is really instagramable and you’ll have a lot of fun taking pictures with your loved ones. But that’s only applicable for those who live in or around the Manila area.If you guys live far away and are planning to drive hours just to get here NOW, I suggest that DON’T GO for the meantime. Because it’s still in the process of construction and it’s not yet finished, if you want to see animals, you’ll be disappointed since, as of now, there are approximately only 10-12 kinds of animals in this zoo.Wait until the renovation is over. Perhaps after 3 months, it will be worth the time to go here. Not to mention, they close down really early. If I remembered, it was 6 p.m.
Not fully operational yet. It is apparent that the number of construction workers is greater than the actual “animals” inside the zoo. This is the very reason why I came to visit, it’s still under renovation with new attractions being constructed, hence entrance is free. Kids 11 years old below are not allowed to enter, though. The enclosures and cages are so huge it felt like the animals looks comfy inside. They’re also designed so that visitors will get to somewhat immerse with the animals (special on the aviary side).Path walks have anahaw leaves design embossed, benches are well thought of, water fountain that dances with the music, butterfly garden that has interiors of that Singapore’s Garden by the Bay.No available carpark yet.No food stalls.Only one souvenir shop is open at the moment.Clean toilets.I’m really looking forward to the completion and paying the ticket on my next visit would be worth it.Good job Manila! 🇵🇭
Awesome ambience! Although still under renovation when we went there for our COVID booster vaccination so we got around for free. The zoo was amazingly modern, clean and spacious and we even got to see the elephant and a dozen of beautiful peacocks near our vaccination waiting area. Definitely going to visit again with my kids when we go back to Alert Status level 2.
The place was excellent although the foreigners have extra charge but it was good in the center of city the lions, tigers and elephants are center of attraction can improve the zoo in cleanliness wise and can get more animals and creatures overall can visit only one time....😉😉
If you are visiting Manila you definitely should see this placeThe entrance price isn’t high and totally worth the view. Place covered with beautiful green plants! Trees, bushes, grass - it’s has it all! Many different species of birds and animals! Such a elephant, tigers, monkeys, parrots which talks to you: “Hello!”, “How are you?”, “What’s your name?”I felt a bit sad for some of the animals as they are really skinny and some of them looks really sadNevertheless, I would recommend to go there and bring some treats#ManilaZoo#PhilippinesZoo#ok_s_i
