Mango Ginger - Restaurant in Rondebosch, South Africa
Fun, delicious food and drink options with lots of vegan and vegetarian choices, carb free, etc. The salads were impressive, even just as a side. The owner served us, she was very friendly!
Cute little intimate space for tea or coffee
Literally one of favorite coffee shops when I travel to Cape Town. The owner is very hands on and welcoming.
Great cup of coffe, attentive yet unobtrusive hostesss. My friend ordered the burger, as it was my first time here I was taken aback that sides are optional extra. However my friend assures me that its worth every cent.
Natural and healthy food. Great stop for a quick business meeting.
Mango Ginger has been a fav restaurant of mine. Great delicious quality food. The restaurant itself is cosy and has a great atmosphere. Service is amazing.
Lovely little tucked away gem. Great, friendly service and tasty treats.
Great coffeeThey some fudge edibles too.
An Obz staple with great service, delicious and healthy food.
A lovely quiet spot nestled in Obs. Very friendly owner and the food is delicious. I had a salad there that’ll definitely be back for!
Was an okay experience.Paid a fair amount for an underwhelming croissant with cheese and a coffee milkshake. The croissant was small and the milkshake was pretty disappointing in size for the price I paid (R60). The person with me at the time had the soup of the day which was very nice and seemed like a good deal. For my milkshake, I was offered the choice of a plastic straw, which was free, or a paper straw for R4. I feel like charging people to be environmentally responsible is a real scummy thing to do, either stick with plastic straws or go for paper but dont charge people for that. R4 isnt a lot of money but why should I pay them to be able to comfortably drink my overpriced milkshake without creating waste?Overall it was okay, staff seemed nice and it was a cute place but I dont think Ill be coming back.
Coffee was hot and strong. Perfect to pair it with the carrot cake. Amazing service. Definitely will be back for more.
Having read reviews & articles about Mango Ginger, I was pleasantly surprised to have accidently stumbled upon it. I was actually in the area for other reasons. The service, the food, the coffee were all excellent! The apple & cinnamon roll to die for!!! Highly recommended!!
Excellent deli and bakery. Visit while in the neighborhood
It was my first time there, my supervisor has its the best place to meet and having intimate conversation. She was write, we were able to talk about my PhD and also my personal life without being disturb or feeling like someone is listening. The service was great. I bought a spinish, avo and mink shake and the sandwich. Definitely coming there again.Opening the gate it quite tough, you need to be ringed in through a bell. And the bell is not on the gate but actually inside on the side wall. Otherwise everything was good.
Loved the vegan options. Frozen dinners available for heat and eat option
Food was delicious. Ingredients were very fresh and the vibe was very cozy and comfortable and relaxing! Definitely a great choice for breakfast
Tranquil spot in Obz with amazing menu, including quality vegetarian, vegan and low carb options. Great place to meet colleagues and friends, or catch up on creative writing or reflection.
Such a cute little gem in Obs! Good food and great service. They also sell some delicious freezer meals and freshly baked goods.
What a fabulous cafe. The food was so fresh and tasty, and service so friendly. It has exactly what you need and of course great coffee ❤️
Serene and warm space, amazing food, lots of fun treats, bread, etc to take home. Good coffee.
Such a lovely meal! Everything was super fresh and the taste was very diverse and honestly really exciting! The owner is the nicest person ever - highly recommend.
Very cute aesthetic place. Nice food. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. A nice break from thrift shopping.
A brilliant find, a hole in the wall. A small cafe hidden away, the menu offered some fresh new ideas and the food itself was very well put together and presented, very clear how much effort went into its preparation. The roast chicken with avo, rocket and honey mustard on ciabatta was particularly tasty. A great lunch spot
Very nice owner and service. Slightly disappointed with the egg benedict as I asked the white be cooked and it arrived undercooked but I did not make a fuss. Was kindly offered a coffee on the house. The glutenfree chocolate and ginger cake is fantastic and good coffee. Overall a lovely place and will go back!
Been a favorite for many years. Gluten free, free range and other healthy options. Very tasty. Freezer ready meals and baked goods (breadalso available to purchase.
One of my favorite bakeries. The owner is extremely kind and her treats are amazing. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try!
Very nice veg ciabatta sarmie and a great carrot cake. Some nice options for take home frozen meals as well as home baked breads and pastries.
Always a friendly smile and great coffee. An array of delicious options on the menu with ciabatta and more to take home for a lazy dinner at home.
Incredible flavours incorporated into what would otherwise be simple food eg: sandwiches and wraps here are everything but ordinary. Humus and eggplant ciabatta sandwich, and the chicken wrap are suggested. Will certainly look to try everything else! Great vibe inside as well,
I asked Fiona at Mango Ginger if she could create a sugar-free chocolate cake for my aunt and uncles 50th wedding anniversary and the answer was a resounding yes. The result - a HUGE and beautiful cake decorated with gold glitter and ribbon, with extra ribbon for the knife which was such a thoughtful touch. We also bought a few small cakes to go with it and they were all a big hit and so delicious! Thank you! You made the day even more special for us. :)
Almost hidden, but a must to visit for coffee, breakfast, lunch and a vegan meal.
Really fantastic food and great service. The salad is packed with so many things and a great flavour!
Brilliant, fresh food, cakes and pastries. Fiona is a wonderful patisserie baker and her quiches, pies, tarts and cakes are superb. Many are available gluten-free. The salads are wonderful, complex and fresh. Soups and other hot dishes change daily. Fionas home-made breads, biscuits and cookies are divine.
Wholesome eatery. Has vegan, gluten and wheat free options. Enough on the menu for meat lovers too. The gluten free chocolate ginger cake a must try. Parking on lower main road always an issue though. Good service
Beautiful eatery place that offers a wide range menu including plenty vegetarian and vegan options. The vegan burger on ciabatta I had today was delicious. Parking available in the streets and toilet available on premises. Excellent friendly service and therefore highly recommended.
Friendly service, amazing coffee and lovely food. Very chilled atmosphere, you can sit and study there or go for business lunch and they wont disturb you constantly. Going to be back.
Lovely little spot in the heart of Cape Town. Awesome coffee and a wide variety of choices on the menu, vegan and vegetarian friendly. Freshly baked goods are also available as well as free Wi-Fi.
This is one of my favourite places. It ranges from quiet to buzzing, but never overfilled. Their meals are delicious and their service warm and friendly. They also sell frozen dinners to take home. They have a good selection of banting, vegan, gluten free, etc., and their pricing is competitive. Street parking, but the street is not as packed as some streets in Obs.
I like visiting this little restaurant when in Cape Town. They have a unique menu which caters for a gluten free, Banting and vegan eaters. Very busy over lunch time and quite popular with the Universities staff members. I gave this a 4/5, because the outside tables and chairs are a bit uncomfortable, and parking is a mission (like everywhere else in Cape Town)
This is one of the best places to have breakfast at the Observatory neighborhood. The owner and staff were attentive, informative, polite, and greet you with a charm. Glad I found this quaint, cozy place to enjoy my morning meal. Yummmm!!!
This is my Go-To place for a quiet coffee if I need to get work done out of the office or home. Great (healthyfood options for lunch too - recommend the roti, and the cheesecake for a treat afterwards. They sell excellent home baked bread so you can pick up your loaf at the same time.
Nice decor and light atmosphere. Fruit shake was good. Cappuccino OK but milk was more froth than creamy. Not the cheapest place in Obs by any measure, but keen to come back and try some of the baked goods.
This is a beautiful little spot, the bread is heavenly, delicious breakfast and polite service staff
Parking is limited to this small family restaurant. Service is rather slow but the feeling of cozyness makes it a pleasant visit. Food is fine but nothing to brag about. It is a more hidden spot and well worth a visit if you are looking for a less commercial look and more family feeling.
Quint little spot, looks great for light business meetings or coffee/lunch dates. Only popped in for a cup of coffee but super friendly staff and really reasonable menu. WIll definitely be popping in again soon to check out more of the menu ( those fresh croissants had my name on them ).
Delicious eat and treats, with very friendly service. Definitely a place to catch up with friends over a great cup of coffee and magnificent food! Big thumbs up!
View is not great. Food is good for people who have allergies or who are avoiding carbs. There are Sugar-free cakes and other goodies for those who cant have sugar or gluten. The glycemic index of the food is really good. Although, they could add a few more herbs and spices to make the food a little less bland.
There are quite a few vegetarian options here. Lots of baked goodies. I once came across a vegan chocolate croissant here! They have a range of gluten free options too.
Found this delightful coffee shop quite by accident when doing a google search for a coffee shop conveniently situated for friends who were coming to a medical appointment from Pringles Bay. What a great find. Interesting and varied menu. Plenty of gluten or wheat free and vegetarian options to satisfy all tastes and spotlessly clean. I will return
