I used to go often to the previous location a couple blocks away and was thrilled to find their new restaurant on Hollywood Rd. Their Dim Sum are superb, creative, varied and so yummy. If you go please orde the truffle and cheese one… it’s a killer!!! Excellent service and surprisingly good wine selection. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Operated by a Swiss-French owner, Man Mo Dim Sum Restaurant on Hollywood Rd, Sheung Wan, is a definitive go-to for dim sum with a twist, where you’ll find esoteric French-flavoured adaptations of this traditional Chinese delight. I went with their signature choices Seabass Dumplings $68, Foie Gras Xiao Long Bao $88! French Peking Duck Dumplings $78, topped off by the Nutella Ball $32 for dessert. Everything is bite-sized, the flavours are subtle, but the novel concept made a big impression. Traditionalists might not take to the menu, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend giving Man Mo at least shot at pleasing your palette.

Have you ever tried dim sum in the French way?Well, this place offers you the fusion options, combining French flavors into Chinese dim sum dishes.Like- Brie cheese and truffle dim sums , sea bass and lemon dim sum and more. The service is good and the tea selection is nice. Dishes are nicely presented but the prices are extremely expensive. At evening time the place is quite empty (shame the prices are not lower to bring more young people with nice vibes!). I wouldn’t recommend you to go to this place especially, but if you’re walking through Man Mo market, it’s a nice stop to rest and snack.Prices of 2 pieces of Dim Sum was around 60$ HK and up (approximately 3.5-4€ Per piece!!), so expensive that you’ll feel like you’re eating gold.I recommend you to try the sesame balls, a traditional Chinese desert, normally served with paste of semi sweet red beans. The France fusion answer to this desert: filled with Nutella (28$HK per one ball).

“Dim-sum-euro-fusion” is how I describe the delicious dumplings that Man Mo has created. From french cheeses to foie gras the flavours in this dim sum house are definitely western and familiar but exotically different. This restaurant is a clear favourite with French expats and for good reason. The food and service are excellent.

What an amazing selection of dim sum! If you’re looking for a modern dim sum place with beautiful ambiance, good quality food and excellent service, look no further. We ordered the tomato mozzarella, goat cheese spinach, tchoutchouka, chicken mustard dumplings and the five spices lamb bun. All the dumplings come with great dips/sauces. The tchoutchouka is their spiciest dumpling on the menu and we ended up loving it so much that ordered seconds. Wine selection didn’t disappoint either. A must try when in Sheung Wan.

<<Italian Dim Sum? or Chinese Dumpling shaped Ravioli?>>This place looks like it could be any upmarket restaurant, serving sparkling water in ludicrous price, but a dim sum place. I probably shouldnt judge a book by its cover, however, I have walked to their doorstep at least 5 times, read the lunch menu and didnt go in. I simply dont have the confident that they could made proper dim sum, everytime after reading the menu, their description, and thought, isnt it like ravioli in dumpling shape? And I wasnt wrong.I picked the Goat Cheese and Spinach Dumpling set, out of 3 choices, the other two are ratatoullie and tomato and mozzarella. All set comes with 3 dumplings on top of a salad and free flow iced lemon tea or hot jasmine tea. A hundred odd dollar for a set seems not too bad, it is a western restaurant in Hong Kong, that is much expected. Here it comes, the dumplings are sitting on top of a colourful salad, deep red beetroot circles, bright orange pumpkin strips, on a bed of baby spinach, dotted with walnuts and goat cheese. It looks vibrant and very appetizing. The dumpling itself was well balance in flavours, the tanginess of goat cheese just at the right amount to accompany the metallic flavour of spinach. However, is it resemble any of the dim sum trait except the using of dumpling pastry and shape? Probably not, the flavour was pretty much a ravioli. The salad was fresh, nicely arranged, well thought through, with a pungent spice kick from the pumpkin occasionally, I guess its the garam masala or cumin powder on the pumpkin is the culprit. The salad comes with a dressing, to be frank, I dont think the dressing is much needed, the goat cheese is strong and saucy enough to link all the ingredients together without the helping of dressing.I guess I am harsh to them to say, it is not Dim Sum., but the same goes to the Italians, they probably wouldnt like these dumplings be called raviolis just like pineapple on pizza. Is it good food? Yes. Dim Sum? No. If you were looking for Dim Sum, then look elsewhere, if you were here for delicious, eye pleasing food, give it a go.

Food was great, loved the variety and creativity of the offerings on the menu. Ambiance was okay, the music was playing quite loud in an empty restaurant. My big concern was that all of the staff were either not wearing masks at all, or wearing it under their chin or with their nose uncovered. This was inclusive of staff preparing food.

Man Mo Dimsum is located in a perfect spot in Sheung Wan, a min away from Man Mo temple and a short walk to Central main area. This place offers a good variety of dishes, great service and a good value wine list served in a lovely environment, chilled and casual. You will be amazed with their wine list! ;)

I’m not a big fan of dim sum, but when you twist in other flavors and fuse two cuisines together and serve it in a relaxing lounge type environment, I loved it. Random walk-in to this restaurant and from the get go staff was accommodating and friendly (always my #1 judge of a place despite food quality). Food was great, I didn’t even get a picture of the shrimp wontons because I ate them too quickly. Sauces that the dishes came with were so appropriate. To me prices were reasonable, not sure why others think it’s expensive and the pour of Proseco was extremely healthy! Can’t wait to try this restaurant at night time on this busy shopping street. Go try it!

A fresh french take on Dim Sum“Touch the heart” is the littoral translation of dim sum. The original Chinese version does exactly that . Man Mo combines the original with some french/ Middle Eastern tastes and traditions and seriously touches ones heart in an excellent and skill-full way. The taste is extraordinary and surprising. You will feel Hoi Sum.

Some of the dishes are super tasty, some are not so good. The sea bass dumplings are really excellent, the ratatouille dumplings are not. Very mixed all round.Presentation is excellent.Prices are a turn off, very expensive for something which shouldnt be *that* expensive. Tuna tartar was actually a good price all things considered. Dumplings are not.Ive reflected on my review and reduced from 3 to 2. Its verging on being a complete rip off.

I though this place was great! I loved the mix of french and dim sum. The staff was friendly and very helpful! The location is great to grab a bite while heading out for the night to explore. We had 6 dishes and each was unique and full of flavor. they were well done and i think worked well for the styles. prices were a bit high but i still left feeling it was very well worth the cost.

Came here after checking out the stars rating (but not reviews lolon Google maps as I had wanted local dimsum but pleasantly surprised by the French fusion dim sum. Was recommended the Foie Gras Xiao Long Bao which I love, and the flight of cheese dimsum - not a big fan but definitely interesting to try. Definitely much pricier than local dimsum but thoroughly enjoyed the place and found it worth the premium; the table setting, fusion dimsum, ambience and friendly French staff. Would be perfect if you’re looking to host European guests or looking for something different than the usual local fare!

Food hunting in Sheung Wan is not easy on Sundays, especially in late afternoon. Quite a number of restaurants and coffee shops are closed (except the bars). I was disappointed by the incorrect information about opening hours of a noodle shop. Made a booking, got there, it wasn’t open. Boo…So I had to look for an alternative for a late lunch/early dinner. Glad that I found Man Mo Dim Sum still opened at 4:30pm on a Sunday.Hidden among antique shops and stalls, you find Man Mo Dim Sum on Upper Lascar Row with a chic interior design that uses Chinese eating utensils and furniture with a western touch, which surprisingly blend in well and give a good vibes. This applies to the dim sum served too. Man Mo Dim Sum is famous for reinventing traditional Chinese dim sum with western ingredients and cooking style. For instance, these gourmet Foie Gras Xiao Long Baos are definitely a must try. The bite size xiao long bao (soup dumplingallows you to enjoy the strong flavour of foie gras, together with the delicious soup/sauce inside the dumpling. Thickness of the dumplings were just right to the point - not too thick to be chewy, nor too thin that ruptures upon picking it up from the spoon with chopsticks. One bite, one xiao long bao, one mouthful of gourmet and contentment.I didn’t expect much when I ordered these Five Spices Lamb Buns. But they appeared to be way better than I thought they could be! First of all, the bun was so fluffy and delicious! Second, the cheese went so well with the lamb and the bun. Third, the diced lamb was so flavoured and juicy. Last but not least, there was a plate of chili oil for you to top up the spiciness as much as you want. The whole dining experience in Man Mo Dim Sum was so enjoyable. Lucky that I got in 10 minutes before last order. The food and vibes were so good! No wonder my colleague (an expatstrongly recommended it to me. I would definitely visit again, probably with some friends.

Not sure why this place has such great reviews. Not much fusion going on... Dumpling pastry way to thick and stuck to the roof of ones mouth. French staff, especially the female, not particularly friendly.. Peligrino was cold.. So 1 star review... We left absolutely starving and decidedly lighter in the pocket.. 😭Check out Dim Ding.... Great dim sum and 1/2 the cost...

Nice take on fusion dim sum. Its expensive for the quality of service and food. It was slow to get menus and to have our order taken. Its a laid back atmosphere so it may be good if youre not in a rush. The dishes were interesting and a good fusion of western and dim sum. The lemon egg tart didnt quite have the flaky pastry expected. It was probably overworked dough.

A very unique place. I would recommend dinner here. It’s located in a small alley. In front of the gate, there are several tables with light and candles, just like a bar. Inside, there are sofa, high tables. Love the chinese decoration! very oriental yet creative. All the dishes are very interesting. You would never think of the combination but they all turned out surprisingly good!! Staff are very friendly and service is good.

Not worth going there. Expensive ridiculous pricing. This place is a complete ripoff. The portions are so small, this can barely be considered a snack. The food is ok but nothing special in terms of quality and taste.A snack for HKD 380 is ridiculously expensive even for Hong Kong. Most places you would get a full dinner with better quality food.

Service: Attentive service, explained the options well and made excellent suggestions. Glass was never empty and the food showed up in excellent time. Plates cleared quickly and they always asked if we needed anything else.Food: l had the dim sum, Ratatouille, Sea Bass, and Peking Duck. These three combined formed the best meal l have had in my entire life to this point. The Sea Bass was so fresh and had a butter inside that accented it well. The peking duck was just packed full and rich in flavor. I ordered a 2 piece and it was the best thing l have ever eaten.....so l ordered another 3 piece so good cant recommend it enough.Location: Great break when shopping cat street. Stop in and rest and enjoy some of the best fusion Hong Kong has to offer.Price: Between 5 orders of dim sum and beers l was sitting around 100$. Without a doubt the best food you are ever going to have and l consider this getting off cheap for the quality.
