Exotic, luxurious, traditional Arabic ambiance for Moroccan and Lebanese dining, meze and shisha.
Food taste like it came out of a can. Servers are nice.
I had the Bamieh Veg. It tasted like it was out of the can. The servers were nice though!
The french fries were cold and not fresh, I had Bamieh with lamb and it was not good the okra taste like they were from a can.The lamb didnt even taste fresh. For the price we paid it was disappointing.
Food was really good. Customer service was excellent, they provided us with good recommendations. The vibes and aesthetic was very fancy and classy .
Probably these worst place I’ve ever stepped foot in. As soon as we walked in we was given looks, it was probably the most uncomfortable I’ve ever felt. The workers are rude already telling me about the price of things I never asked for, we came for shisha as I was visiting cousins. She said £50 for shisha and 1 hour stay I said okay, then they sat us infront of people who just stared at us like why are you here. I’ve never felt so unwelcomed. We waited for 16 mins for a menu, and they were standing in front of us. I couldn’t stay I had to leave. I will never ever come back and I do not recommend anyone to go. Absolutely disgusting people, and the worst thing is they judge you by what you wear. Literally up and down looks.
I love this place. I sometimes used to go on my own to unwind for some tea and occasionally a shisha, sometimes I took someone close to me along but thats rare as I like going here for peace of mind. I also like the private table downstairs with the glass wall where you can enjoy a shisha inside privately. The staff were great and friendly, made me feel like wanting to stay for longer. After reading some of the reviews, I dont agree about the staff rudeness or the meal preparations. The food is amazing, the drinks too and so is the shisha. Its the type of place I would gladly accept a membership invitation to if there was one. I think the issue with some of the reviewers was that they werent prepared for the prices when they went there. For such a high level of service, the quality of the food and drinks too, not to mention the location (where the rents are often higher than average), I would say that things are priced accordingly. So I would take some of these negative reviews with a pinch of salt. I would really prefer not to recommend this place because it holds a special place in my heart and I dont want it overcrowded like the other restaurants in central London, but after reading some of these nonsensical reviews I had to stand up for the lounge. So credit where its definitely due, I highly rate this place. Thank you for making it feel so special to me. And when you do have memberships for the lounge, do bear me in mind. One of a kind.
Bad Experience and bad service. We were asked to leave after one hour at the table and we were not told us in advance that its an hour for a table.
Nice spot to start the night in Mayfair. Absolutely try the chicken kofte and halloumi cheese.
I visited the place today, it is very bad, and the treatment of Tunisian or Moroccan is very bad, with the high prices, I will never advise you and it does not deserve any star
I have never been so belittled in my life. When I arrived, the waitress looked me up and down and when I asked for a table she said just so you are aware it is £50 for a shisha and £5 for sitting each. We were then scooted to the side which seems reserved for the lesser people which dont make the front of the business look good. The staff were very dismissive when we had a concern with our shisha and spoke with little respect. Do not go here. It seems if you are not pulling up in a Rolls or a Mclaren they really do not want to know you. Its almost like your doing them a favour by being there.
Went to the Lounge on a sleepy Tuesday evening after eating food at Nobu.Lounge looked dead and dingy with slow service.Shisha was overpriced.Do not recommend.
Called ahead and had spoken to Gabriella who had provided us with excellent service and made us feel taken care of (give her a raise)! We ordered the Moroccan spiced Meshwi which tasted impeccable.
£1200 wasted (yes you read that right). Terrible service all night. Side dishes arrived as we were finishing our mains. Waiters / management made no effort to make any seats available for us for shisha, even though we had made it clear that was the main reason we had booked. We ordered 4 shisha and not once did we get a change of coal before we were told we had to leave (even though we were still ordering items off the menu). Other than the waiters who served us the food, everyone else was incredibly rude and dismissive. I would highly recommend you stay away from this place.
First visit for me & my family. Great lighting & musc. Attentive staff & good food. Happy customersDeni Wade
Absolute disgrace when it comes to customer service. The lady at shisha is unbelievably rude, entitled and has no sense of hospitality. No matter how high demand your establishment is - it gives those employed no right to treat people with disrespect. Absolutely appalling service and the owner/manager needs to talk to the shisha manager and provide a training session on how to manage customers, expectations and general communications skills.
Not cheap but Mayfair never is. Food has never been excellent but its definitely above average. Limited seating outside so difficult when it gets busy but always a popular mix of a crowd. There are a lot of posers that like to come with flash cars parking outside (double yellowjust to be seen. I find that tiresome but usual for the area...wealth whispers as they say. But its not the places fault, a younger crowd often need validation, its quite funny! I enjoy sitting and watching sometimes. Nice to sit next to an interesting crowd, and always interesting conversation. Mayfair mosque is around the corner, popular place with Arabs. Drinks are good, service is OK but slows down when busy. Outside heaters are reasonable but it still gets chilly if you dont wrap up unless its a hot summers evening. Booking is good and they text you to confirm.
We went for early dinner and asked if we could outside. Were given a table by the nice lady. Then a very rude guy approached us and said we had to order shisha! They brought our food and the salad came after we finished with our food. The most annoying part was there were few beggars who kept approaching us for money and there were guys from the restaurant who were standing there watching!I got really annoyed as the one who was rude to us for not smoking, didn’t even bother to ask the beggars to leave us!The food was ok the waitress was nice but the attitude of those guys and the beggars made me embarrass as I suggested the place! Will not go there again.
Nice atmosphere, and the shisha was good quality BUT be aware, the staff are snotty, everything is overpriced (the alcohol is very expensive, and the shisha is the most expensive Ive ever had, with a cover charge for each hour you sit there). I would recommend somewhere for food, alcohol or shisha.
The place is really nice. Food was so good but the male manager was very rude with everyone.
It is a very nice place with friendly staff and high quality food…The quality of the tabaco is perfect. Can’t complain at allBR from Germany
Wish could give lesser than this!!! Worst service ever... Made us wait 1 hour despite been on time for my reservation infact prior!! Pathetic manager! She took people coming late before us! And food also not great!! Waiter forgot to serve pita bread... I had a special prepaid menu ...I ordered my dessert wt my platter as I saw the service was real slow... N after that the waiter comes n says dessert over!!!! Ruined my day completely!! Wasted 3.5hrs!!!
Went for sheesha, got told food will take an hour, the person serving shisha said he doesnt know what shisha flavours they do. And the expensive shisha was not worth it. Service was bad. Dessert took about 45 mins, by then we wanted to leave.
We visited this lively Lebanese restaurant for my Sons 15th Birthday. The food was first rate, service impeccable and the staff made a real fuss for my Son singing Happy birthday and presenting him with a lovely Chocolate gateaux and Baklawa on the house for us. There is a nice Shisha lounge on the front terrace and a great ambience inside. We will definitely come again.
---MUST READ---Food - The food was very standard which is fine but was VERY overpriced. For example £40 for a small mixed grill platter or £4 for pieces of bread.Environment - I really liked that cosy environment BUT they make three people share a small square table made for two people, when served food there isnt much space on the table, the mens toilets werent clean. The service - I would be forgive most things and leave tips if the service was good. The waiters were presentable and welcoming but the gentleman that served us made us wait 45 minutes until we got our starter and then people that came after us got served their food before us. When the food was served the waiter did not check on us until the bill was requested. The barman was not available and so alcoholic drinks were not available for some reason, only soft drinks.Overall it was a really cosy place with overpriced average food. I was too disappointed with the service to try the shisha.
We had Xmas party there.Shared platters were delicious , well presented and enough for everyone to enjoy. However the main was disappointing . I had mixed grill with chips, and included 4 kebabs, chicken and lamb, and few red onions slice on the side. No salad, no amazing signature dip, just normal ketchup, mayonnaise and plain chips . Even the presentation on the plate was mediocre .Desert was good , nothing spectacular .It was pre-set menu so maybe that could be a factor.I didnt feel there was value for money.
Came for shisha and tea/dessert. There’s an hour max, which is understandable due to the location, but maybe if you wanted to relax with a group of friends better off going elsewhere. It was quite expensive, we had one shisha, mint tea and one dessert and that was £80 - but then again it is mayfair! The service was great, very friendly team
Booked a table for 6 for dinner and Shisha. The Manager booked us in for the dinner but said that she could only accept 4 people for Shisha... Automatically making things uncomfortable for the group from the offset. As when we got there, there were many groups already sat larger than 4 in the front far left of the restaurant - probably friends of the owner as they werent being questioned and hurried. Set menu was advertised and then we were told we cant have it as its for a minimum of 6 people - not advertised (the waiter then told us the honest truththe chefs dont bother for small groups despite how much we spent. The bar guys were very nice - I suggest that they use their skills at a decent bar where theyll be treated better. But the worst thing was that they promised me to make our 2nd table ready for our group to join our 2nd group outside. I go outside and theyve literally taken an extra chair around an already squished table of 4 in the far right corner of the restaurant frontage. After waiting for 30 minutes to then go out and take my seat after having to wait for one of my guests to be forced to leave to make space for me... Before I can even speak I get told that we have to leave.... That was so rude... I suggest anyone with any sense to go down the street and go to Lansdowne Row and visit any of the authentic Lebanese Shisha Cafés for half the price, no audacity and great service!!!
Booked a table for a birthday dinner and drinks for 7 girls. Only Upon arrival was told £40 minimum spend per person on food alone. The food we ate was mediocre food, not fresh. Something you can find in your local 3rd grade Mediterranean take away. On top of that orders for drinks were several times mixed up. At the end the bill was incorrect which we spotted and it got changed when we spoke up. No atmosphere inside at all. Highly over charged and simply not worth it. All in all such a disappointing experience.
Overrated. Past its prime. Service is sub-par at best, inattentive waiters who are over tipped and spoilt by patrons are aplenty here. After we got and paid for our bill, one item was brought to us, just before we left. We sent it back. But there wasnt a refund offered. It just seemed like they couldnt care less. Id had to ask them to bring me an empty glass for my water 5 times before they delivered on it. A spoilt place that doesnt care much, but alas, such is the state brought upon by its patrons that throw away wads of money as tips here--how will a place like this learn if its behaviours are handsomely rewarded. My verdict: if youre walking past this place, keep walking away folks. Dont waste your time or money in this place past its prime. Cheers!
There are many items that are removed from the menu since the last time I came. The food was very average compared to the previous time and over priced for what we received. The waiter serving us was friendly. However, when it came to the bill, we requested to remove the service charge as its optional and not compulsory. I was shocked to hear one of the managers come up to us and say you should have told us to remove it earlier then with such attitude, then stormed off. Never again am I coming back !!!
Dont bother coming here... we walked in expecting the guy at the door to greet us and he just looked at us... he then said go talk to the lady at front desk, she was polite. But then another gentleman came by my side and just said hello amd also just stood there, really needs customer skills. Front of house seemed like they need a boost. We was served by a lovely lady I forgot her name but she told us she was from Peru, food wasnt special at all. The houmous had noo flavour at all, and being greek I eat a lot of it, Id sooner go to a kervan or aksular. Music stopped before our food came which was about 8ish and the atmosphere was as flat as anything, so we asked for it to be turned on again. No entertainment as down stairs was being refurbished, but im sure a belly dancer can fit between the tables upstairs lol.
Definitely best food in London, super service ( Luisa was my waitress. I will definitely pop in back and I will be a regular customer. Also rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful
As soon as I arrived at 5:30 I was told the place is closed even though my reservation was at 5:30. I waited till 6 to then be served by a short straight haired short man who was very rude (to be specific he is the one who was working for the shisha outside and was wearing a black uniform, please don’t get mistaken with another short haired man who was taller than him he was really nice). Back to the short man, He gave me the feeling that I was not wanted in this restaurant. I then was served by another lady who was extremely nice which is the only reason I decided to stay. She has a big smile on her face and made me feel very welcomed which is the reason why it’s not on the lowest rating. I then got served by a tall man who had curly hair, he was also VERY welcoming and nice. Constantly made sure that we where sorted and happy. It’s a shame that one man let the whole experience be this bad honestly TERRIBLE work ethic, I have not done anything or say anything for him to treat me like this. Experience was very poor because of this. Felt so sick of it I couldn’t even eat my food which I spent £60 for! FOOD is also VERY mediocre NOT WORTH THE MONEY
AMERICANS and non-Arab patrons BEWARE. The customer service is piss-poor. Went with friends for birthday and was immediately made to feel as if we couldn’t afford to be there by the guy in the picture saying “are you sure you want to stay it’s $40 for shisha, $5 per person sitting fee and you can’t be here for more than an hour”. The entire time my party was made to feel rushed and UNwelcomed. The place is across from the Saudi Embassy so there were people who pulled up in Maybachs and were treated SO MUCH BETTER. The manager walked past us several times after the initial questioning and rolled his eyes. After leaving we found there are more of a variety and more REASONABLY priced hookah spots on Edgewear. Would never go back to Mamounia.
We visited the Mamounia lounge in Mayfair to celebrate a birthday. As expected the area was really nice and this was backed up by the Mercedes and Porsche parked outside. There was an external shisha area with the restaurant inside. The restaurant had a good vibe and we were greeted with a warm welcome even having got there twenty minutes late. We ordered the special mixed meze board which was excellent. All the different meze was good. Then we had four Lamb Tagines one Lamb chops, Marakesh salad and Mamounia fries.Although the menu describes the Tagines as sweet what we received was very sweet and this somewhat let the dish down. We have tried this dish elsewhere and this was definitely too sweet. However the Lamb chops were really nice and well cooked. The Fries unfortunately had a bit too much chilli for me which I wasnt expecting however the Fattouch salad was fresh and the toasted Lebanese bread gave it a nice crunchy texture. We ended the meal with Baklava and chocolate fondant deserts which were nice and served by several members of staff with a rendition of happy birthday in what I assume was Lebanese. This was a nice touch.
Visited this place as it was my birthday as well as my friends.Nice place, and great atmosphere. However, very disappointed with service. We waited around an hour for the starters to be served, when they were mainly dips. They didnt have 3 listed drinks/mains that we wanted to order. Then our mains took long to get, and my tajine came WAY before the others, so had time to get cold. The waiter simply said they are have a booking ( a party which was a little upsetting as ours was too.The manager was kind enough to come and talk to us, and offered a discount with chocolate fondant on the house.
My wife and I tried Shisha for the very first time @ Mamounia and it was a brilliant experience. Gabriella and her team made us at ease and the complimentary Moroccan tea was a perfect addition to the blue mist flavour shisha we were recommended. The whole place, crowd etc had a great ambience and vibe. I would definitely visit again.
Perfect food, drinks and sishaAfter attending a birthday party the day before, we decided we wanted to continue having a fun time in London to make the most of the weekend.A friend suggested we visit the Mamounia Lounge as a venue in Mayfair.Upon arrival we were given a table and our hostess was Gabriela. We ordered wine and an apéritif to go along with our sisha; this was our first time!!Gabriela who was excellent in her customer service, explained how to consume the sisha and suggested an amazing range of food items from their menu. She was perfect in explaining to us the different range of food items and this made it so much easier. To be honest, Gabriela was a godsend. After a little deliberation and with her assistance we ordered the following items:Moutabel, smoked aubergine puree with tahini, pomegranate, olive oil and spicesSpicy Merguez sausagesCheese Briouat, Goat’s cheese pastriesLamb Tagine, sweet slow cooked lamb shoulder served ins a sweet sauce topped with prunes, pears, sultantas and almond shavingsBaklavaWe were overjoyed with the presentation of the food and the service provided.Gabriela made our meal and experience so much more enjoyable with her professionalism and her knowledge of the Middle Eastern food and culture. She is a credit to the establishment and guided our evening perfectly.I would definitely return and would recommend it to visitors to Mayfair.Whatever you decide to do, ask for Gabriela !!!
Firstly, they made a pretty big issue of my reservation not showing up on their system, despite having email and SMS confirmation.Secondly, they dont seem to social distance at all. All the tables were literally next to each other. Im sure my wife and I are in the photos that the couple next to us were taking. The food was good, but the service left us disappointed.
Fantastic evening - delicious food (their hummus and mixed grill are so goodand really nice shisha with the friendliest service!Big thank you to Joana and Gabriela for making our evening really fun.Highly recommended.
Place is really nice, love the live entertainment. Food require some improvement. Staff very polite and helpful. Was very happy with the service "5 stars ". And yes would go back for the service and entertainment
An excellent Lebanese bar and restaurant wonderful atmosphere and service. Life music and belly dancing. Good value for money and off street parking available after 7 pm. We started of with a mezze followed by the main coarse of either chicken or kebabs. This was then finished off with baklava. On the whole an enjoyable evening.
Our waitress was so friendly she told us everything that we were eating & we had a nice little chat. The food was filling! The meze platter filled me by the time i got to my Mains i had to take half away. But i did eat the dessert small baklava. It made me fall in love with baklava as Ive only eaten dry terrible ones but this was so moist & sweet I wish I bought more.
Good shisha, good deserts way to pricey. When a normal shisha costs 15 pound roughly in Central london I dont understand why this place charges 50 or so. Regardless I would still go again, just not as often :).
Was sceptical to go to this place due to the bad reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised. The staff working were very polite and the food was also very good.
The food was very very tasty, but the fact that u have to pay for bread and pickles, "which is usually complementary" is really exploit. The sheesha was good and the sheesha gut was nice too.
Good drinks, great amount of options, flavors... price is a little steep. Overall good atmosphere!
Absolutely disgusting service from our host! Manager barging through us group of friends who was out to celebrate a birthday!Tried to over charge us when the bill came along with pushing us off the table to allow next set of people to sitAbsolutely disgusting behaviour from a restaurant in Mayfair. No respect given to our group, probably due to being an ethic minority. We were also told that due to our size we were not allowed to take a seat in the shisha area thereafter.P.S our indoor dinning bill was £985.00Certainly not recommend this place to anyone that would like an enjoyable night.
Thanks to Niculae Valentin (the bartenderwho mix this special cocktail for me. He is really nice, funny, and entertaining. Recommended to reserve the table before coming for the shisha.
Extremely expensive Shisha Place, good food and tasty Shisha but its more a place to see and to get seen rather than just to enjoy your Shisha or meal but nevertheless a good night out
